Product review: Harry Potter 20Q

I recently had a chance to test out the new handheld electronic Harry Potter 20Q game by Radica. Shaped like a golden snitch, the game comes with detachable wings and a stand. It’s simple to play; all you need to do is come up with something from the Harry Potter books or films – a character, spell, creature, etc. – and the game will ask you questions to try and figure out the answer.

One thing I really like about this game is its compact size once the wings are removed (which is simple to do). You can take it anywhere as it fits easily in a backpack or bag. I took it on a recent trip to Disneyland to pass the time while standing in line – worked like a charm (no pun intended).

Another nice feature about Harry Potter 20Q is that it is simple to use with easy-to-read buttons (Yes, No, Sometimes or Unknown) so that can be easily operated by younger children, which makes it great for long trips in the car – provided it’s being controlled by someone other than the driver. ;)

For the most part, the computerized game was able to correctly guess the Harry Potter terms I had chosen, however, there were a few times it needed to ask more than 20 questions to know what I was thinking. But I didn’t mind that as it made me feel smarter than the game.

At its reasonable price of under $20 at Amazon.com or £15 at Amazon.co.uk, Harry Potter 20Q is the perfect gift for any Harry Potter fan. If any of you have played this game, leave a comment below letting everyone know what you thought of it.

And keep your eyes peeled, as we here at SnitchSeeker will soon be offering up one of these cool games as a contest prize ...

Blimey, how come it costs ten dollars more in the UK than the US??

Padie 04-16-2008 04:35 PM

Greaat thing! x)

I bought it at Christmas when it was first released. I think it was priced the same $20 but I payed way too much for shipping to get it before Dec. 25th.
But the game is really fun! I made all of my family members think of something. The game worked well for them. They've only seen the movies and thought of some easy things. So, the snitch got it right away.
But I've stumped it too many times. You just can't think of something totally outlandish. It can even get down to specifics like colors and locations which is awesome for a tiny toy.

The pound is currently worth more than the dollar, so the pound has more purchasing power. Stuff is more expensive for us these days  At least, I think that's it :xd:

This sounds kinda cool! It's definitely cute. Maybe I'll get one ^_^

I really would like to get a hold of one of these. I have one of the oringal 20q's but a HP one would be more interesting. I would love to stump it once or twice

There's been a Harry Potter 20Q out for awhile, so I guess this one is updated with things from The Deathly Hallows. I like the original, so I'm sure this one will be awesome!

Order it from amazon.com or find it on ebay. It may be cheaper. I got mine from a bookstore w/ a discount and paid $16. Of course, that is 25 euros and, like, 32 pounds......

Anna Banana 04-16-2008 06:55 PM

I've played this several times. I've stumped it a pretty good bit, too. It's really fun and interesting to play, though!

That's awesome that one of these will be a prize soon!

I went to Woolworths with friends the other week and had a quick go in the shop.
I thought the game was a bit lame -- it didn't guess my thing, but it looks cool.
I might actually buy one..
