Size Matters Not review

Size Matters Not chronicles the interesting life and varied career of Warwick Davis, known best to Potter fans as Filius Flitwick. The book begins with Warwick being cast as an Ewok in Star Wars at the age of 11 and goes right up to the present day, where Warwick, aged 40, finds himself playing a professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The book is broken up into chapters, mostly based on a singular project each, with photographs (some black and white, some coloured) interspersed throughout. These are accompanied by humorous annotations.

The Harry Potter chapter details several on-set antics, mostly involving the adults and conversations had on set between takes. Additionally, throughout the book Warwick draws comparisons with Harry Potter characters when describing people he has met during his lifetime – referencing Dumbledore and McGonagall, for example.

The book is laugh-out-loud funny, at times and is written in a way that is accessible to young and old alike. Warwick talks candidly about life as an actor, really making you feel as if you were there with him, giving you an unparalleled insight that is both informative and entertaining.

I will probably get this book. I like Davis, because he is a part of my two favorite series, HP and Star Wars.

I really enjoyed reading this, it's the only (auto)biography that I've ever enjoyed sitting down and reading. I've read it twice through now.

The pictures in the book really help you visualise everything, and the way Warwick tells his stories, you can really imagine them playing out in your head as if you were there.

The book cover's really cool and creative too. :D
