Review: Homeless for the Holidays on DVD With the holiday season not far off, a film like Homeless for the Holidays will fill even the moodiest and most skeptical with a bit of hope. While it is aimed towards the Christian demographic, the movie is not as preachy as you would have expected for one with a religious tag, which is a bit of a relief as over-preachy movies can be irritating and unenjoyable. The movie has a focus on today's terrible economic times, and trying to make the best out of it, with the help with your family. It is moving at points, even cheesy sometimes, but it has more heart than a lot of the movies out today. It's also impressive to see that the movie was made in a small town with a tiny budget, yet the final product came across smoothly and somewhat impressive. If you're able to stomach some of the religious themes, and love a little holiday flair, then watching Homeless for the Holidays is a nice way to spend the evening with the family. |
Ran across this film recently myself & did enjoy it. Thanks for sharing & your review. Like you say, it is a good family film & definitely have to encourage people to check it out & JUST came out on DVD last week! It's worth it to break up the monotony of the usual Christmas movies. Thanks for sharing! |
