Bullying and Harassment
On SnitchSeeker we aim to provide a moderated Harry Potter forum that is safe and welcoming for members of all ages and backgrounds. If you join us here on SS we expect you to follow our Site Rules and be pleasant and courteous toward fellow members, regardless of their usergroup, their age, their background, and their beliefs. Likewise, you have the right to be treated fairly by other members: the rules are in place to protect everyone.
Abuse of SnitchSeeker members will not be tolerated on or off-site. Harassment of SnitchSeeker members off site about on-site issues can and will be punished at the discretion of the admins.
What can I do if another member is making me uncomfortable?
If another member's conduct towards you on site breaks site rules or makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable participating on SnitchSeeker.com please PM whichever admin or moderator you feel most comfortable approaching and we will look into the situation. Even if you aren't sure if they are breaking rules, we are here to help.
We also recommend the following steps:
Avoid communicating with the member on social media, or in private messages - if you must communicate, stick to public areas such as your visitor messages and the forums so that if any problems arise it will be viewable for mods and admins.
Tell a trusted adult or friend in real life. Parents are encouraged to contact our administration team if they are concerned about the interactions their children are having on our site.
Make sure you are being safe online. Do not give out personal information.
Add the member to your ignore list, their posts will be hidden from you and this may make you feel more comfortable being on site. To add a member to your ignore list you can do so via their profile page, or from your own user cp.
SPOILER!!: how to add a member to your ignore list
The effect of the ignore list is to hide the content of that user's posts from you on the forums. Instead it will appear like this: https://i.postimg.cc/pTZ55DN4/Daniignored.png
You are still able to choose 'view post' in order to see the contents of the post if you wish. A member has no way of knowing that they have been added to your ignore list. From the user's profile page, you can add them to your ignore list via the user lists dropdown which can be found above their visitor messages. https://i.postimg.cc/cH3n42h1/addtoignorelist.png
This will take you to your user CP and ask you to confirm your user list modification, where you can select yes or no. Alternatively you can access your ignore list directly in your user CP under settings and options as below. https://i.postimg.cc/3RQw9Rj7/ignorelist.png
This will bring you to the ignore list interface, where any users you currently are ignoring will be listed, and you can directly input a member name to add to the list. https://i.postimg.cc/9XpftcD5/addremoveignore.png
