The Gaming Corner

Thank you to Pixie for the graphics.

Located a little to the left of the Bowling Lanes is a gaming corner, combining both magical and Muggle games to create a fun alternative to bowling. All games only work in exchange for money which you have to put directly into the respective slot on the object you're playing the game on. The standard price for all games are 4 Sickles.

Among smaller games like Darts you can find a number of Pool Tables as well as several sets of Table Football. Similar to this is the enchanted Table Quidditch where you and your friends have to play all positions on your team, trying to keep control of the enchanted balls zooming around the miniature Quidditch pitch.

Reminder: Do NOT wear your bowling shoes here.

OOC: This is a self-sustaining area meaning you don't need anybody's permission to come here and play. However, that doesn't mean the shopkeeper isn't watching so do NOT break any site rules. Also, as always, do NOT RP for the shopkeeper (Felixir)

The redhead just couldn't find the strength within herself to stop laughing. Everything was so funny and it made her wanna straight up giggle more. Ahem. But NO, she was an adult and when Kurumi said silly, naive things she was going to be MATURE and not do a thing. HAHAHHAHAHAAHA. Okay, no, but seriously she was, hehe, done now.

See look how grown up she was being right now. Even if her bottom lip was shaking trying to hold back the onslaught of giggles that would no doubt be trying to sneak past her guard.

Rubbing at her face, the redhead smiled shakily, "Sure..." Not laughing was finding itself very hard for her, especially because it just all seemed so bloody funny. Merlin, did Rumi even know how she looked just staring blankly at the cue ball? It was really entertaining and just......heh.

Taking it from her best friend, she placed the white ball opposing the triangle of billiard balls and cued it straight into them letting all of the coloured balls fly in every which direction. Way to start.

Looking at Kurumi, she explained, "You use the white ball to try and sink the coloured ones. Get it." Because Selina was being MATURE and being HELPFUL. Sort of.

Kurumi SAW the way that Selina was still kind-of-sort-of-still-very-much laughing, but just playfully pouted her lips as she stood off to the side with her free hand on the table. She was going to watch Selina's movements very carefully and take mental notes on how Selina held the stick and...

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh!

"That was amazing, Selina!" Kurumi applauded, dropping her stick on the ground in the process. Laughing anxiously, she quickly bent down and picked it up and then walked around the table until she was positioned behind the white ball. "Got it. I think. Won't know unless I try, right?" she grinned while she took...some sort of position with her hands balancing the stick and then...WHACK!

Kurumi squatted down until her eyes were level with the table and watched as one...two colored balls fell into the same pocket. They were soon followed by the white ball falling in after them. "Oh! Look Selina! I got three in!"

That was good, right?

Kurumi Hollingberry slash almost Puffer-Married-Woman was a mess. That trip up, with the stick and all, was downright embarrassing. She needed to pull herself together because Selina was a PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE. Cue cheesy smile here. The redhead couldn't very well be seen out and about with someone dropping everything left and right. Merlin, Rumi, GET IT TOGETHER WOMAN. They needed to make a strong come back. Maybe they could turn this into a bar...well...bowling alley fight.

Okay, so this crowd did NOT seem like the type, but they could make it work. They could ALWAAAAYS make it work. If they had enthusiasm and a Selina on their side and right now they had one. The enthusiasm was still...needed.

She didn't even seem to put that plan into action it seemed, though, because Kurumi sunk two balls. Bugging her eyes, she jumped up and down, "That's per-NOOO."

You cannot sink the white ball, Rumi. THAT IS THE CUE BALL. Oh Bond would have been so upset. Le sigh.

"No, Rumi," she shook her head, "Not good. Bad Rumi." Just like talking to Bay. Except no spray bottle. Huh. How the rolls had reversed. She did wonder what Kurumi had done with the spray bottle especially for Selina's at Hogwarts. That thing was brilliant.

Kurumi was not-so-subtly jumping up and down in celebration of sinking THREE balls on her first attempt. But then Selina was yelling no and trying to put her down. She knew her best friend was a very competitive athlete, but this was just mean. So she sort of hugged her stick like it was the only thing that understood her in the whole world and wrinkled her nose. "What do you mean, no?" she pouted, glancing back at the table for a moment.

And was it just her or was Selina talking to her like she was Bay? Or Walnut. Although Walnut did not take to being talked to like a pet that well. Tended to pee on things in retaliation.

So...teach us your ways, Professor Skylar!

Blinking a few times after she spoke, Selina quickly realised speaking that way was only alright when she was speaking to two types of creatures: Puffers and animals. Mostly her ill-trained puppy Bay, but he was so cute she had a hard time sticking rules to him. His little floppy ears made her wanna squish her cute face all day. Nom, nom, nom.

Running her fingers through her red hair, she sighed and tried to regroup her thoughts, "You...can NOT sink the white ball. It's a cue ball. It doesn't go in." Ahem. Was that nice enough? She was trying to be supportive and the like, but sometimes it was hard when Kurumi was so...ignorant of certain things.

SHE LOVED HER FACE THOUGH. It was downright squishable. Kurumi was her Bay before she even had him.

Kurumi hugged her stick a bit more tightly and tried not to sway back and forth anxiously. Kurumi disliked being wrong. Mostly this applied to academics, which is why she was almost always with her nose in a book to make sure she had facts right before lessons even started. Something she had started at Hogwarts and had carried over to university. Things were different now and she was surprised that advice Professor Scabior had given her was, well, useful and something she was actually relying on.

Although she was wishing that she had done some research into this particular game prior to attempting it because now she just felt like a lost kneazle.

".............oh," she managed to mouth after Selina spoke again. "You forgot to mention that." Fidget. "Guess that means that those two balls don't count, yeah?" Did this mean she was in the minus points? "Sorry."

It was very hard for Selina to get upset with Rumi, frustrated yes but really upset was a feat. How could she when Kurumi put her sad face on that was downright adorable and squishable. AND it had been decided with Vivi that Selina was a champion squisher. Like even professional. It was something she took great pride in.

So when she got that kicked Bay look to her, Selina squished her face. A proper, good squishing where her face looked nothing short of contorted and puffy. N'awww Rumi.

"Don't be sorry. You didn't know!" And now she did and she looked so cute being squished, okay? Okay.

They could always try again, yes? Kurina was an awesome pair of ladies. A little set back wouldn't stop them.

she successfully escaped from her mother again while they were in apothecary. She needed fresh air and a moment without her mother roaming and grumbling around to get their school supplies. The brunette girl walked around and found a bowling alley. Woah, maybe she could play bowling for a while here.

Or much better, the game center!

Reaching her pocket, there were some sickles that Zhenya gave to her. Okay, which one should she play first? The basketball shooting game or the broom-racing one?

The truth was Candice never really liked children or more like she didn't know how to handle them. And when the little girl said that she was not lost, she sighed. Well, at least she didn't have to deal with crying girl and asking to find her parents. That's a relief.

"Not really. But I rarely saw a girl your age in here." So don't blame her if she thought the girl was lost. As she said earlier she rarely saw an itty bitty girl playing by herself here. But then again she hadn't been in Diagon Alley for 3 years. "Are you any good with that game?" She pointed towards the basketball shooting, she guess that was where the girl was headed?

Blocking, shooting, dribbling, passing." She just loved any kind of sports but her top three favorites were 1. Quidditch, 2 and 3 (tied) Football and Basketball. And she didn't even had to use her allowances money to buy her school stuffs. She had Teddy's wallet with her.

"I think they haven't discovered this place yet." She also found this place now even she had been to Diagon Alley several times. Maybe Dima never told her about this because this place was too cool and she might spend all of her money here playing the games.

Since Candice said that she's good in water sport. Also, the swimmers usually have good body and tall like her.

A very loooooooong speech that sometimes mixed with Russian language that she barely understand and 2. Being grounded. "Science, but just the practical part." Like creating a volcano or mixing chemical thingy like that. Ava was not really good in some lessons and according to the student counselor, it's because she's processing information more by seeing AND doing it. Tactile-visual learner, that's what they said. "What house are you in by the way?" Maybe not a Ravenclaw because she didn't have broody face like Teddy though.

DIVER? "That's even cooler!" You know, watching and playing with fish underwater. She's able to swim but never tried diving though. Her family wasn't a big in that kind of activity. Diving was on the top of her bucket list and she really hoped that she could, someday...

Yeah, she's gonna play that at first but then.... "Why don't we find a game that we could play together?" She suggested. Since Candice wasn't that good in basketball, so maybe not.

Ava was not really good in some lessons and according to the student counselor, it's because she's processing information more by seeing AND doing it. Tactile-visual learner, that's what they said. "What house are you in by the way?" Maybe not a Ravenclaw because she didn't have broody face like Teddy though.

DIVER? "That's even cooler!" You know, watching and playing with fish underwater. She's able to swim but never tried diving though. Her family wasn't a big in that kind of activity. Diving was on the top of her bucket list and she really hoped that she could, someday...

Yeah, she's gonna play that at first but then.... "Why don't we find a game that we could play together?" She suggested. Since Candice wasn't that good in basketball, so maybe not.

Well, first year did have a LOT on their list. She was lucky that fifth year didn't have that much to buy. She just need some basic school supplies and few new school uniform since she can't actually wear her fist year uniform no can't she? "I could tell." NodNodNod. Since she was here instead with her mom. "Do you have any sibling that go to Hogwarts too?" She looked like she knew somethings about Hogwarts. So it would made sense if one of her family from Hogwarts.

"I bet." Having your mom watching all your moves was not really fun. Not to mention she would know if you have a bad grade. Poor girl. "At least you're free now." As long as her mother didn't know any of the Professors in Hogwarts. Science? That's like Potion but Muggle version, right? "I'm Gryffindor." She was not too happy about that but she learn to like it now even though she still wish the stupid Hat put her in Slytherin like her uncle. "What about you? Any particular house that you want to be?" She looked like a Hufflepuff material to her. Being all friendly and stuffs.

"Umm..Thanks?" She still diving muggle style tho not that cool. As soon as she's allowed to do magic outside school, her uncle better start teaching her diving using magic because that's much more cooler.

Find another game? "Sure." They don't have a lot of games here tho. She couldn't actually asked Ava to play pool with her now couldn't she? "What do you have in mind?" She just gonna let the little girl choose because she's being generous today.

Ava just wanted to get the wand sooooooo badly. "My sister, she just graduated this year and my big brother was there even before I was born." The brunette girl answered. "And also I'm coming this year with my twin brother." She added some more. Was that too much information? Maybe not.

Yes! That's why she really looked forward for going to Hogwarts. Free from her mother's watch! And lucky that there would be no relatives watching her there, except Teddy. Well, it's easy to make Teddy not to tell their mom; just give him chocolate frogs with the collectible cards. "You seemed not very happy with that." Ava could see it from Candice's facial expression. She had met some Hogwarts seniors and they looked very proud with their houses. "I dunno, there's a chance that I might be in Slytherin since my dad and the older siblings were there." The family background somehow mattered, right? But.... "But I don't think I'm gonna be in Ravenclaw since... that's the house for smart-bookworm type of students." Specifically for Teddy but not for her, thank you very much.

She's the one who chose the game? Hmm... What were they gonna play then? "How about hockey table then?" That's not difficult and a perfect game for two people.

Her sister just graduated from Hogwarts? "What house was your sister?" Maybe she knew her. But then again she didn't meet a lot of people during her first year at Hogwarts. Twin brother? "That's nice. At least you already have one person you know." She wished that her brother was still in Hogwarts when she went to Hogwarts. It would made her first year much easier.

Not to happy with her house. She got that right. "I used to wish that the Hat put me in another house. But not anymore." She kinda like being a Gryffindor now. Her parents was Slytherin? Nice. "You could always ask the Hat to put you in the house you want." Teddy shoudl had told her that. If he told her that the Hat could do that, she might end up in different house. But whatever.

"Hockey table? Yeah. Sure." Its not as difficult as basketball shooting game. "Let's go." Candice said walking towards where the hockey table was.

"Sytherin." The brunette girl said. There's no way Candice knew her sister since 1. Zhenya was a seventh year and 2. She's not that popular maybe since she spent most time for studying, almost like Teddy. "Yeah, and I already met some people around here." Like Zeke and Jackson, they're the Gryffindors too like her and Henry, the firstie student just like her. It's not that hard for Ava to make friends with people, she's a social butterfly.

Candice didn't want to be in Gryffindor at the first time? "Why?" She asked curiously. Also, could the sorting hat place someone to the wrong house? It wouldn't be, would it? But this older girl said that she could ask the hat to make her being placed in a house where she wanted to be. "Oh, I just knew that." So... she could ask the beloved sorting hat to make her be in Gryffindor, huh? She didn't want to be in a same house like her dad and older siblings.

Okay then, hockey table! Ava had ever played this thing once at the muggle game center before. This game wasn't that difficult though, just hit the puck and aim it to the opponent's net to score. She put 4 sickles to the machine and grabbed the glide. Bring it on!

"Oh. I see." She didn't know many Slytherin girls. Not many. Tried only one. Beside she only went to Hogwarts one year before she got shipped to Durmstrang by her father, so she didn't have a lot of times to get to know other people from other houses. She already met some people? Good for her. "Have you met someone with your age yet?" Because she seems to bump into SO many first years today.

Why she didn't want to be a Gryffindor? "Because my Uncle was a Slytherin and I grew up listening to his stories about his house." So its natural that Candice grew attached to that house and wished that she would end up in the same house with her uncle but apparently she's more like her brother than her uncle, since the Hat almost put her in Hufflepuff.

As soon as Ava put sickles to the machine, Candice grabbed the glide. If Ava thought she's going easy on her because she's younger than her she had another thing coming."Ready?" She asked Ava before she hit the puck HARD with the glide towards the goalpost.

But maybe she's gonna meet more once she didn't need to tag along with her mother with shopping. Unlike her twin, Ava made friends easily. She didn't need to be escort by her older sister or whatever.

"Well, most of my family were Slytherins and told me how great that house are. But it doesn't make me want to be there." Maybe because she wanted to be different. "I think that my brother and I won't be in Slytherin. I don't think that we will be in a same house since he's very smart and I bet five galleons that he will be in Ravenclaw." The brunette girl said. She wouldn't mind if it's gonna happened. But deep down she was worried if Teddy wouldn't get friends since he's alone and he's very shy to talk with new guys. Well, hopefully he's gonna figure it out.

Its been a while since she played hockey table but she didn't want to lose. Nope. Candice saw the puck got closer to the goal before Ava hit it and sent it towards her. Oh no you didn't! The Gryffindor tried to hit the puck but she was not quick enough. Its okay she's going to give the little girl the first score. She took out the puck from the hole and aim it to to the goal before she hit it.
