Whomping Willow

The Whomping Willow is a valuable but extremely violent magical plant that has been on the grounds of Hogwarts since 1971. Beneath, it hides the Shrieking Shack and if you locate the little knot that makes the tree still you might find your way there, if you dare.

The Groundskeeper along with the rest of the staff advice all students to please, don't get too close to this majestic but violent beauty. It is known for attacking all who come close to it and unless you wish to spend the rest of the year in the Hospital Wing; stay at a safe distance from the range of its branches. But if you still want to try your luck in getting closer, don't forget to duck.

Tavie wasn’t as homesick this year as she had been last year. Or at least, she wasn’t yet. It had barely been a month but still, even last year this time she had wanted nothing but to be at home with her parents. This year wasn’t sooooo bad, and she wasn’t sure if that was because she was at Hogwarts (her parents first home together) or if she had adjusted last year. Time would tell.

One thing she DID miss though was baking with her mama. They had spent a lot of time baking over summer and even though she was currently mama-less, she still baked. WELL.... food required eating and she couldn’t eat it ALL by herself, so she sent a little birdy to Flynny telling him to meet her by the whomping willow. They were gonna have a picnic!!

She skipped all the way to the little hill that sat close enough to the tree to watch its branches flow, but far enough away not to get hit. Out of her basket she got JUST for this picnic she pulled out a blanket, spread it out, and then set about setting up their picnic. They had cupcakes, cookies, tarts, and the like. Most of all she made with some help from the house elves. The butterbeers she snagged from the kitchen just for them to wash everything down. Once she was done, she settled down and waiiiiited for her best friend to find her, passing the time by studying the tree.

As long as nobody told HIS mum that he was chowing down on baked goods, Flynn was always more than happy to be the test subject slash human garbage disposal and gobble up anything his best decided to bake, so of COURSE he eagerly showed up, only moments behind Tavie, having dropped everything at her summons.

It had only been homework anyway, not dance practice (or he would have kept her waiting), and he would probably do much better at his homework with a full tummy anyhow. He did a cartwheel into view and flopped on the grass in front of her.

"Feed me!" Flynn said pitifully, and then made omnomnom noises. Starving! Fading away! Take pity!
