Spare Office

If you happen to try one of the doors near the end of the sixth-floor corridor, you might just find yourself in a handsome (if not dusty and aged) office of a surprisingly large size. The faint smell of crystallized pineapple seems to linger in the air of the room, which contains numerous side doors and nooks and crannies. Unfortunately for you, all of them remain firmly locked so there is no telling what lies behind them.

Although the room is devoid of any office-like furniture, or any furniture at all, there is still an impressive, but faded, rug before the large fireplace and long mirror hanging over that to boot. The spare office is still a cool place to hang out, practice some wandwork, or do some light reading. Just don't linger here too long because the allegedly esteemed former person that resided here was only fond of certain guests, of whom were one of his favourites and were only welcome to visit him in this office only as long as they didn't ask prying questions about specific moments in his past.

Being back to school didn’t mean Nerina wouldn’t continue to pursue her own passions, the biggest of which was styling hair. After the summer it felt like a step back not being in a salon every day, learning and practicing her craft, but she supposed there were still ways to do that here. It was why she’d posted a sign just outside the spare office, letters big and bold so they drew attention. “HAIR MODELS NEEDED! STOP IN IF INTERESTED!”

She’d set up a chair and small table towards the back of the room, all her styling tools ready and waiting. She also had a camera on standby so she could document whatever looks she was able to create because everyone who was anyone had a portfolio, right? Plus it meant she didn’t need to convince anyone of how good she was. They’d be able to flip through and see for themselves. She liked that.

Now she just had to wait..

In comes Kinsay James, here to rally and support. Kins didn't need to be convinced - she already knew how talented Nerina Moretti is. So the prospect of seeing her as she worked on her craft and wooed the rest of Hogwarts? Not something she'd be willing to miss. Plus, she wouldn't mind some hairstyling of her own. It'd be a nice way to start of the school year, y'know?

"Hiiiiii," she offered her friend a big smile as she made her way into the spare office. "Am I the first one?!" She was hoping to be, in all honesty. Of course, if there was a crowd, she'd be willing to wait in line, but. But she'd prefer not to, if possible. Plus, being first could hopefully help convince other people to sit in the chair too. So.

Maya had not intended to wander in here. She had been strolling the castle to stretch her legs after sitting entirely too long in the library. She stood at the door of the office, reading the sign. Hair models... needed...? Maya's head tilted slightly at the sign, a confused look on her face. Was someone experimenting with everyone's hair? Dying it odd colors, styling it in strange styles like they did in fashion magazines?

Hesitantly, the Slytherin walked into the room, not sure what to expect.

Spotting the older students in there, she lifted and hand to wave just slightly. "Hi."

Was she volunteering? Unsure. She'd rather see what the the older Ravenclaw did to Kinsay's hair with all those tools before offering herself up.

It all started with a sign. Hair models needed. Hmm.. She saw it and had to explore it more. ESPECIALLY since she saw HER sister (the one with good fashion sense - and only one) walk into the Spare Office caused her to wan to peek into the room. Coming around the corner, she walked into the office to find a makeshift studio set up. A gasp left her lips as she glanced around the room. “Wow! This is cute,” she nodded before greeting the group with a happy smile. Nerina, Kinsay, and Maya. All three were super beautiful! Maybe they could give her some tips on how to look her best. Besides she would need to know how to do things for the upcoming dance.

“Hi gu- ladies!” Ladies was more polished than guys. It sounded older.

Lisa glanced between the older girls. “Who’s first?”

He'd simply been exploring when Evan had spotted his sisters entering one of the offices. Out of curiosity, he'd followed just intending to peer in to see what they were doing, but the bolded sign caught his attention. Hair models? He was intrigued now for a different reason. Was this modeling in the sense of pictures being snapped, or was this modeling in the sense of offering hair as tribute to a change? Because one of these things he'd be willing to do, and it was not the former.

Deciding there was no harm in checking it out either way, Evan took a step into the room glancing around as he spotted Nerina, Kinsay and his two sisters.

Blinking a bit, he glanced around at the equipment in the room, still unable to determine which type of models it was by what Nerina had arranged. Maybe both? She certainly had the tools for both. "Hi." He said, offering all the girls a smile. He then nodded towards the camera. "Looks like you got quite a crowd, Nerina. Need help with that portion?" If it was photos she'd been hoping for, he could help take some. Especially if she also wanted to take photos with the girls.

A compliment to one was so a compliment to all. It just was. "You're first! Come sit. Let me play with that gorgeous hair." The brunette wiggled her fingers, itching to get started.

And, as luck would have it, her eagerness to get to work was going to be needed as another potential client had just graced them with her presence. "Hey. You here about the sign?" Big and bold lettering did the trick every time. She slipped her wand from its holster and with a flick, she duplicated the chair. And then created a third and fourth just in case. Hey, she was being optimistic! People had to sit somewhere if they turned up to wait their turn.

Aw, and there was Lisa. And also Evan and Nerina couldn't help but look amused. "I'm here for the Nam family reunion. The hair in your family is-" Nerina brought her fingers to her lips for a chef's kiss. "To answer your question, I was hoping to do some kind of braid situation on Kinsay's hair, but if you're okay hanging out, I can do something for you two as well? And Evan, I'd love it if you wouldn't mind snapping some picks of the process and maybe the finished products? I'm trying to put together a portfolio." You know, to be more legit. "I've done men's hair before, too. I don't know if you're up for it, but I could do something for you as payment." People didn't often do things for free, after all.

Kins offered the mooooost sheepish smile to Nerina, shrugging bashfully as she stepped further into the space. "I try my best." It helped that her friends were so so soooooo easy to support. So, really, it was all them. And that is something Kinsay James was 100% certain of. She smiled from her head to her toes, throwing her head back and shaking her hair out, feeling allllll the relief to know she was, indeed, the first. "Eee! I was hoping I would be."

So much so that she skiiiipped all the way to the chair as others began filtering into the room. Not wanting to take away from Nerina's moment, Kins let her friend do allllll the talking, and simply offered the #NamFam a polite smile and tiiiiny waves.

And then, only when Nerina was finished speaking, did she pipe up with a-- "Nerina knows what she's doing. She's incredible. Pinky swear." In case anyone was nervous or anything.

She nodded her head in response to Nerina asking about the sign. Luckily, she didn't have to say much more because not one but two of her siblings had appeared. Did they somehow have a tracker on her or something to find her? The castle was pretty large and it was quite amusing how all of them ended up in the same spot.

She watched as Nerina duplicated the chairs, noting just exactly how easy the Ravenclaw made it seem. Maya would have to practice that herself later.

"Lisa can go after Kinsay," Maya quickly volunteered her sister first. While she didn't doubt that Nerina was good at styling hair - after all, Nerina always looked good - she just wanted to make sure that it wasn't her hair on the line first. "And Evan definitely wants to try a new look," she added.

How funny would it be to see Evan with a different hair style? "Do you dye hair too?"

Because that meant Maya had ideas.

“Hyung?” she asked, turning around to face him with eyes as wide as buttons as she glanced at him. She was about to smirk and tease him about being here to get his hair done; however, instead, she decided to ask the question all lightly and innocently (so he wouldn’t suspect a thing). “Are you here to get your hair cut and dyed? Will you match Christianna?”

One of the many girls that she had suspected Evan may have a crush on. Then again, the list was long and contained one of the other two non-Nam women in this room.

Lisa turned her attention to Nerina who explained what she was going to do to Kinsay’s hair. “Oh! That sounds wonderful. It would look really nice on, Kins…” She cast her eyes over to the older Gryffindor, her swamp hunting monster, and gave her smallest wave in return. “Hi!!”

She continued waving until she heard her sister volunteer her. She blinked, not thinking twice about her volunteering her next. “Unnie….” she whined before nodding her head in thanks to her.

With Evan in the room too now, Lisa turned to her sister and wiggles her fingers at her, whispering, “Sibling spider senses!” She gave her elder sister a wink as she bounced her way to Evan. “Soooo I didn’t know you were a photographer!”

Was this his way of flirting with someone?

Was Evan surprised to see his siblings here? Yes, and no. Lisa had the slightest sliver of narcissism to her, so if there was anything that said MODEL he was sure it would have drawn his youngest sister's attention. Maya, however, he assumed she'd be holed up somewhere studying. But truthfully, he was glad to see her out and about and taking breaks from the books. It helped too that this was a room full of females and then himself, her brother, which meant no further concerns of dating. Would he have reprieve for worrying about his sister during her fifth year? He certainly hoped so. But still, the fact they all three showed up amused him just as much as it seemed to for Nerina. "Apparently we show up in packs." He commented softly, smiling teasingly at his sister's before heading over towards the camera. He inspected it a bit, not touching it but just looking at the type before giving a nod at her instructions. "i'd be happy to do that." He was no where near Cora level of photographer, but he was sure he could manage some photos for her.

As for payment? "That's not necessary if you're busy. If you want men's hair for your portfolio too, I'm fine with offering mine for your creative freedom." Because truly, he didn't care what it looked like and quite often liked changes anyways. But he also wasn't the type that liked to impose on others. He had primarily showed just to make sure his sisters weren't getting into too much trouble, anyways.

Evan returned Kinsay's smile and a wave as well. Considering they were friends, he was sure Kinsay would have said so even if Nerina was terrible at hair but he was inclined to believe the Gryffindor anyways.

At Maya's quick offer of his hair as well, Evan turned his eyes to her and raised an eyebrow. He could only imagine what his sister was already thinking, and while he opened his mouth to shut her down immediately, he paused. And decided to try to be unpredictable instead. Wasn't that what his whole goal for this term had been to be? "Maya could probably come up with what would look decent for me too. I'd be fine with that." He was also betting on the fact the Slytherin would think twice on being TOO mean with her ideas if he'd agreed to it before hand. Primarily because he'd taken some of the fun out of it.

Lisa on the other hand? She was chaotic no matter what his tactic on dealing with her.

Evidenced by the fact she was asking about Christianna?? Evan turned and looked at her, blinking a bit. "Christianna?" Lisa really could be quite random. If only he knew about this supposed list that apparently contained all the castle inhabitants. "I've never really considered going for pink." Or was she blonde now? It'd been a minute. Lisa was getting all of the suspicious looks, eyebrow still raised which was possibly just going to become a permanent feature. And while he was certainly no photographer, "I would think it's unsurprising though. It's not a secret our cousins like free labor." Which meant thanks to the three older family members, Evan could dance, bake and take a couple decent pictures. "Did you come because you were hoping to get photos taken? You've always liked posing for Cora the best."

Nerina began sectioning off Kinsay's gorgeous locks even as she chatted away with the Nam fam. Multitasking was something she was excellent at, of course. One of the many reasons she was going to be an amazing hair stylist. And with a hype woman like Kinsay James, who wouldn't believe it? The girl was best friend goals.

Maya's suggestion that Lisa go next was met with a smile and a nod. "That works for me." As for little miss Lisa's suggestion that Evan might want to dye his hair the same shade as Christi, and Maya's own inquiry about coloring hair, the brunette raised her eyebrows and grinned. Was Kins hearing this, too? Was Evan into the third member of their little girl group, then? "I do dye hair. It'd be awesome to get some picks of you, Evan, if you're up for going last and letting me play a bit? And Maya, you're welcome to make some suggestions, if you want and your brother is up for being a good sport." She winked at Evan. "Feel free to get acquainted with the camera while I'm working out Kinsay's look."

"How's everyone feeling about this whole ball thing this term? I could do hair for that, too.." Just saying.

Kins kept her smile to herself as the Nam siblings chatted back and forth. It made her a little sad sometimes, seeing the three of them tease each other and hang out all the time. It was nice that they were so close in age, you know? Because. Because Kinsay missed Fi and Teddy every day. So. So yeah. But, um, anyway. She was glad they were here, to support Nerina.

"You have my full consent, N. Go wild," she giggled quietly, winking at little Lisa before quieting and letting the siblings chat a little. She was listening and learning. Especially when Christianna's name was mentioned.... And as much as Kinsay loooved minding her own business, "M'sure pink would look great on you, Ev. C would be delighted." Kinsay bet that half the school was interested in C at any given moment. And honestly? Totally understandable. Christianna's such a catch. Best wife ever.

"I'm so, so, so excited. I love an excuse to be out of uniform." And the dance was guaranteed to be a good time! "N, if you don't do my hair for the dance, I'll be so devastated." No, but like, honestly. She really would be.
