Default Phoenix Theatre

Not far from the Tottenham Court Road subway station, on the north end of Charing Cross Road and at the corner with Flitcroft Street, awaits the Phoenix Theatre. The building itself has a long history, originally once being a factory and a music hall before becoming a West End theatre. It has a restrained neoclassical exterior, but features an Italianate style on the inside. Decorated ceilings and sculpted wooden doors can be found throughout the building. In the auditorium itself are elaborate golden engravings as well as many red seats, carpets, and curtains.

Originally the theatre was owned by its Muggle designers back in 1930; however, ownership has since then changed numerous times. For a number of decades now, the Phoenix Theatre is owned by the Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts, who proudly boasts its ability of not breaking the Statute of Secrecy through the magic of performing arts and therefore hosts an array of shows for both wizard and Muggles viewers.

Unless a public evening performance is taking place, the theatre is well used by WADA faculty and performance students.

Autumn had never been to the Phoenix Theatre, not even as a child to see a play or a teenager to attend a concert. But when one of her teammates mentioned seeing a show with her boyfriend, Autumn had the perfect idea for a date night.

It wasn't just to go to see a regular show - where was the fun in that? But she found she was able to rent out a private showing for herself and her boyfriend. It was a matinee showing of.. whatever play was currently being performed, that part didn't matter. What mattered was that this was an exclusive show just for the two of them and that made it all the more special. And because it was a matinee, they could get dinner afterwards.

She'd had practice earlier, so Autumn thought it might be easiest to meet at the theatre afterwards. Of course she showered, made herself up, and dressed to the nines before heading out as she would settle for nothing less than looking her best. And she soon made her way to the theatre to meet Benjee.

He had never been much of a thespian and was not particularly a fan of dramatics to begin with (which may or may not have begun as pettiness towards his brother), so this was not exactly in his wheelhouse of interests. Despite this, Benjee had zero qualms with going to the theatre on this day for...whatever it was that was playing. He probably should have at least researched that so he could sound worldly and sophisticated when he met up with Autumn...but his own morning had been busy and his mind elsewhere as his gobstones career took off and he focused what downtime he had on building his mentorship program for wizarding youth that was still barely in the the blueprint stages but at least the pursuit of his degree was relevant so it felt like he was multitasking rather than floundering.

Cleaning up after hitting the gym, Benjee selected his favorite formal fit of the moment and made sure that his goatee was on point before heading over to the Phoenix Theater. One hand in his pocket and his other hanging loosely at his side, the Slytherin strolled over to his girlfriend while wearing a suave little side smirk in place. Gifts on dates felt bulky and tacky to him. What were you supposed to do with a bouquet of flowers or whatever while you were out and about? Magic them small, he supposed, but there were better times and places to spoil his girlfriend in such a way. "Hey there gorgeous. Can I trouble you for an autograph?"
