Hard terms lead to truly somber feasts and this term has likely been no exception. Following the war and the apprehension of many cult followers back in May, the school was allowed to remain open with the remainder of the school year already drawing ever closer. For those who stuck it out, this feast marks the final night in the castle and the beginning of what one can only hope will be a summer of healing. Those who still wished to were allowed to sit their exams on schedule but for those needing a little more time, the option remains for the summer at the Ministry of magic. Minor repairs have been handled thus far, the bulk to be taken care of once the students have left.
For those who belong in Ravenclaw House, in the middle of the Great Hall is where your table awaits. Blue banners containing an embroidered bronze eagle float above the polished table in honour of the wise Rowena Ravenclaw. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. All that is missing right now are the mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages.
Though your stomach might be growling as you take a seat on one of the long benches next to the table, it is important to not get hangry -- gnawing your arm away or jabbing your fork repeatedly on the surface of the table will do no good whatsoever. Give everyone some time to get settled in and wait for Headmaster Trent to deliver his speech. Keep yourself preoccupied by catching up with your fellow housemates until it is time to sink your teeth into the hearty and delicious meal prepared by the house-elves.

It had been a long difficult year. And it had been her first year. The year was traumatising to say the least.
The air was filled with gloom, Kaira could sense it
With the deaths and the injuries, it didn't seem to her like there was much to celebrate. The Alliance had been defeated, and that gave her more relief than joy.
She took a seat, waiting for the Headmaster's speech.
The air here was thick. With pain, suffering, etc. Whatever. Ash did not want to be here anymore. But what was she going to do? She could not stay home and run from the wizarding world. If she wanted, her bodyguards would make it so. Make her hidden where nobody could find her. But after all this suffering, she felt like she had to stay. She wanted the last laugh. Clearly people would do anything to keep her out of the wizarding world, so she would prove them wrong. She may have hated Hogwarts and the cruelty that ran through it, but she hated Rosier and his crew more. Her mind was set. I am going... to... stay. A sad and happy sentence. A sentence that would lead to more pain, but maybe victory later. She looked over to the other tables and then down at hers. She rested her head on the table. Why was everything so hard? Painful? Why? Ashley Fox rested her head on the table, wondering if she made the right choice and if she had ever done anything to deserve this. Could they start the speech already? She wanted to eat and ignore her problems. Or cry. Whatever.

From her position at the Hufflepuff Table, Claudine had been keeping an eye out for Ashley. Heath too, but mainly Ashley, who she knew was not doing her best. Having spotted the younger girl after Ashley had taken a seat and put her head on the Table, Claudine had said a quick farewell to the Puffers with whom she’d been conversing with before heading over to the Ravenclaw Table.
As was her habit, she silently sidled up to Ashley and sat beside her. The fifth year slipped an arm around her friend’s shoulders. “We should have a girls day out this summer,’’ came her words after a short moment of silence. Because a girls day out is just what the two of them needed.

Her mum had given her the choice of whether to stay or to go home with her, and Ivy had chosen to stay. As much as she wanted to go home, she also refused to let the Alliance take the rest of her third year from her.
Her dad hadn't been happy about it at all, but at least with the lines of communication open again, her parents had been able to send her a new two-way mirror. She'd talked to them every day since. They'd sent her sleeping potions too, but she...wasn't always good about taking them. She wasn't sure why she was so reluctant about using them...
Even with the improved sleeping conditions of her dorm compared to that room, it wasn't always easy to get a good night's sleep. It hadn't been even before the room, but now... Well, it wasn't always a sleepless night without the potions. Sometimes there were a few days where she was just so exhausted that she passed out as soon as her head hit the pillow. It wasn't always a restful sleep, but at least it was dreamless. And maybe that made her overconfident, thinking that she was fine and didn't need the sleeping potions. But then the nightmares would return in full force, and she would use them for the next few nights. And then she'd stop, and the cycle would repeat.
Studying for the end of term exams had been a useful distraction too, and so she'd decided to go ahead with hers. She wasn't expecting high marks, but she was certain she'd at least passed. And then she'd have the whole summer to...well, she knew what her parents had scheduled for her.
But for now...the End of Term Feast. It was finally the end of her third year, and all that stood between her and home was one more night and then the train ride. She could hardly wait.
"Hey guys," she greeted those already at the table, offering a small smile to Kaira, Ashley, and Claudine.

Kaira was lost in her train of thoughts when she came across this girl. She didn't know what to ask her. Asking her whether she was okay seemed like a stretch, cos after this year's events, who really was? This year had been a trainwreck. The good side had won, however the price they had to pay had been heavy All the deaths and injuries were more than she could take. She was sure that this was the case with all the students who had endured this, regardless of age or gender.
The air did seem to heavy to talk. However, she didn't want to ignore the girl either. 'Hey..you wanna talk?,' she asked her gently.

Kaira turned to see someone greeting her. 'Hey!,' she waved and smiled back.
Claudine was the best, did she know? Whenever Ash saw her, she forgot all of her serious problems. Claudine was like a mom to her, or an older sister. Ash had never really had a mom though(and definitely didn't have a sister), so that was mostly based on guessing. She was totally going to lean her head on the older girl's shoulder, but she didn't, because she was cool and fine and strong and she didn't need to cry into anyone's shoulder. Even if she really wanted to. "Sure, let's have a girl's day out. I don't know what those are but it sounds fun." Was it like hanging out with your friends and doing cool stuff, but your friends were girls? It sounded like that. She nodded at Ivy. "Hey." And at Kaira, because she was nice. Even though she definitely didn't want to talk. She wanted to surf and use it as an excuse to forget her real life. "Mmm, maybe later." Maybe never. Let's table that suggestion, Ash thought rather humorously. Sounded like something her father(who she hated, but who had good sayings) would say. She wished she was with him. He was a terrible, distant, negligent father, but he could pay for her bodyguards. And he wasn't evil like most of the authorities she'd met were. She wanted to see her younger siblings too. She wanted to see her best friend. Maye ask him out, just in case she actually died next term and never got the chance. She cleared her throat. "I like being out." Of the room. Of the mirror. Of Hogwarts. Of the wizarding world. It was the only thing she could bring herself to say.
Ash made an imaginary toast in her mind. To love, to tolerance, to freedom, to sacrifice, and to friendship. Etc. That kind of stuff. She felt so grateful, and to be honest, she had no idea how to handle it.

Kaira nodded understandingly. She got that the girl didn't want to talk. This year was traumatising and overwhelming. She smiled back and said 'It's okay'. Then the girl said something that sounded so profound at the moment. 'She wants out, don't we all?,' Kaira thought silently, as she nodded.
The End-of-Term Feast brought about a strange feeling for Avalon. One of sadness, but also one of hope. In the midst of the crumbled castle and long faces in the Great Hall were glimmers of brightness. For one, she was no longer stuck in the Room. And her friends were still here. And best of all, The Neo-Alliance had been defeated.
With as much evil as she saw during the battle, Avalon had witnessed moments that renewed her faith in wizardkind. People flocking from all over to fight for the school and make a stand. Strangers tending to each other's wounds. Her professors and classmates all banding together. It made Avalon feel all the more thankful for her friendships.
Which was why, as she made her way to the Ravenclaw table, she immediately sat down next to Ashley and Claudine, giving them both a big hug. "Can we please have a term where we aren't attending the last feast all battered and bruised?" she said jokingly, nudging the second year with her elbow. Last year, the two of them had been recovering from their possession thanks to creepy old Sylvester. Now, they were recovering from war. Could the students at Hogwarts ever catch a break?
Avalon was glad that Claudine had stopped to chat with the Ravenclaws, and it reminded her to pay a visit to the other tables herself at some point. Aboli, Minjae....there were quite a few people she wanted to talk to.
She gave a nod to her fellow eagles (Kaira and Ivy). They had gotten through it, together. And for that, she was grateful.

Naturally there would be a host of Ravenclaws joining the Table. Ivy and Avalon received a tiny smile in response to her greeting. “I wish,’’ came her wary response to Avalon. “I want to make it out of my seventh year alive.”
However, the bulk of her attention was on Claudine. And no, Claudine didn’t even think she was close to being the best. The only person who thought that she was the best was Heath, and now unknowing to her, Ashley thought the same. The Slytherin wouldn’t have minded if Ashley had rested her head on her shoulder. Really. Claudine knew how comforting it was to have a shoulder to cry on. Anyway.
“It’ll be fun. We can have ice creams and we’ll look at cute guys.’’ She grinned, hoping to cheer the Ravenclaw up. “I’ll take you to the Tattoo Shop but…” She eyed Ashley sternly. “You’ll be getting no tattoo until you are of age.’’
Ohhh boy. Ash would like a quiet term or two, actually. Also, more of those hugs. She wasn't a person who gave lots of hugs, but she secretly really liked them. "Tell me about it. I want five of those, and I never want to see a mirror again." Could Ash just have a normal life please? Could she live to see her 18th birthday? Please? Could she not be traumatized? Could she have relationships that didn't involve the other person walking on eggshells? She didn't know. But she sure COULD have a girl's day out with Claudine. Just one normal day. Over the summer. She could do that. "I love tattoos! I'm going to get one when I'm 16 and can get one with parental consent. Muggle or magical, I don't care. And I love ice cream! Especially moose tracks ice cream and chocolate ice cream." mmmmmmm. "And cute guys... sounds fun." Granted, she would probably have asked her best friend out by then, but meeting cute guys was NOT cheating if you only made friends. She gave Claudine subtle puppy eyes(she liked animals, didn't she? that probably included puppies). Was she reeeeeallllyyyy saying that she could do ALL the fun things??? "Can we actually go? You're not just saying that?" She felt like such a child, but you know what? She was a child. And she was going to have a fun childhood if it was the last thing she did. Seriously.

Valencia was... quiet. This was her final feast. This was her last night at the castle. Barring some future catastrophic war that would require her to come back like so many graduated students had.
Valencia, had, of course, stayed the rest of the term AND sat her exams. In fact, immediately following the war she double downed on her studies. She wasn't going to allow the Neo-Alliance to put her life plans off a year. Nope. She was going to go to university come fall and WILL live happily ever after with her muggle parents, thank you very much.
And hopefully no more full grown adults would pull her hair or pick on her fellow school mates ever again.
Valencia Phillips had high hopes for the future even though she was a little sad to be leaving the place where she had learned so much.

Her words had the desired effect: Ashley got excited. “I know you do. I can see you wanting to live in that Tattoo Parlour in Diagon Alley.’’ She wasn’t sure if the Ravenclaw had visited the place but another trip wouldn’t hurt. Also… was sixteen the age in the Muggle world when permission for tats were okay? Wasn’t that a little too young? And why was it that Claudine was thinking like a protective mother? “Great! We’ll get you all the ice creams you can eat. But we’re only looking at the cute guys. You’re not dating as yet.” Those puppy eyes did not go unnoticed. How could they? In the fifth year’s opinion, Ashley was doing a good job of pulling off the look. “Of course we will go. But it’ll have to be until after I complete my OWLs. I’ll let you know when, I promise.” Did Ashley’s questions stem from past experiences where she was let down by others? Well, Claudine wasn’t going back on her words.
“Okay, I’ll head to the Snake Table now. See you, Ash.” She gave the younger girl a squeeze on the shoulder before she left.
"Ha ha Claudine." Ash smirked. "I was already planning on asking someone out. Obviously I'm not going to just fall in love with any cute guy I see." Obviously not. ONLY ONE CUTE GUY was good enough for her. "I can't wait. Byeeee Claudine." She watched Claudine leave. Now she could get back to being worried. Speaking of, some healer was talking to them. And trying to get them to eat or whatever. Well, Ash didn't trust her. She did not touch the food. She had waited for two months to eat, so she could wait for five minutes. Plus, what if the food was poisoned? It probably wasn't, and Ash had no good reason to distrust Healers, but she just didn't. Was she going to replace Recard? Ash was not interested in that. And worse, the Healer reminded her of Kitridge, who Ash did not want to remember at all. She put her head back on the table again. Could this be over? Ash didn't want to eat, or talk about healing the world or whatever, or listen to adults talk. She wanted to go surfing. She silently cried in to the table. This feast could not go fast enough.
