Fortescue's Counter

Many, many years before you were born, before your mother and father and sisters and brothers were even thought about, maybe even when your ancestors were young and skipped happily along the streets of Diagon Alley, Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour came into existence. One could never tell just by looking at the building alone, though; for the amount of maintenance that's been put into it's strong architect has kept the building as fresh and exciting as it was the day that very first customer brightened its doorstep.

It is within this shop that the young and young at heart can feast upon the frozen delights of the magical world, and even get a taste of some non-magical delights, as well. When ordering, you'll need to tell shopkeeer your flavor of choice and the size you'd like to feast upon. So go ahead, venture into the world of tasty wizarding ice cream if you dare. We recommend "Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Ice Cream," because, as you well know from the jelly beans carrying the same name, you never know the flavor until you try it!

Kion was excited about meeting Maria here. Summer had arrived at last and he had been gearing up for Junior Gobstones tryouts. Once the fifteen-year old entered, he went over to sit at the counter. He was curious about trying out a different flavor and maybe even share a bowl with Maria.

Whilst waiting, he took a look at the menu before deciding.

This was excting! Summer was here and Maria was going on a DATE with her boyfriend and her daddys and Emari wouldn't be around. So fun and relaxing to say the least. A growing girl like her needed her space with her boyfriend among others. Maria was also curious to hear if Kion had been up to anything special yet or if gobstones tryout still lay in the future. Spotting her boyfriend, sitting over by the counter Maria beamed warmly to herself as she headed over to him. "Hi Kion!" she called out as she got close enough to lean in for a peck on the cheek. "Have you tried out for junior gobstones yet?" Letting her eyes dart over the Fortescue menu she asked "Have you ordered yet? We could share a bowl of some new icecream flavour if you want?"

Kion was quite happy. He had been dating Maria for over a year now. It would be two years in October, which he found hard to believe such time had passed. It felt like yesterday he was working the nerve to ask her out. He liked her family, they were nice and lively and all compared to his quiet household. But he also liked the moments with just her alone. So here they would have a first proper date of the summer.

and didn't have to wait long at all, as he turned after the sound of her sweet voice, "Hiya Maria," Kion smiled brightly. He too returned the kiss on her cheek after which warmed his face even more so. "I did! I should hear back soon on if I made the team." He felt good about his chances. "Did you try out for U17 Quidditch?" He knew she would do well if she tried out. "Not yet, I was thinking about Cookies n' Cauldron cakes flavored or something I hadn't tried before. Did you have a flavor in mind that we could share?" He would fine with anything, except the stuff on "For the Brave of Heart" section. Not that he expected Maria to pick from that section. They shared proper taste buds in common.

Maria had a steady boyfriend. She still couldn't believe that she had been dating Kion for 2 years in just a few months, it was amazing. She really liked him and their families got along too which was a plus. Her daddies had given Kion the stamp of boyfriend approval. Maria had feared that they wouldn't which had been a waste of worry when they had loved Kion. Even her brother had liked him.

Taking the seat next to Kion she blushed "I hope you'll get in! No, I haven't tried out yet. I haven't gotten up the nerve, you know? I'm worried that I'll do badly or worse embarrass myself like a friend did who sent three others to Mungos with injuries." Maria had heard about friends who had tried out, and had caused a mess of everything. "Cauldron cakes sounds good, have you tried jelly slug or treacle fudge before? Maybe we can share a bowl with a scoop of each?"
