Default Pit of Slugs

One of the less travelled corridors will eventually take you to perhaps the least popular place located in the dungeons. Looking forward, it appears that there is a flight of stairs at the end of the corridor. Indeed, there is. But as you get closer, you realize that there is a bit of an obstacle in your way. A small set of stairs leads you downward into a pit full of slugs, big and small. By the looks of it, this nasty infestation has been here for a very long time.

At this point, there are really only two options for you to choose from: either turn around and head back down the way you came or make friends with the sluggish residents of the pit and walk through the thick slime to get to the staircase beyond. Should you decide to do the latter, tread carefully unless you want to find yourself covered from head to toe in the lime green goo that covers the stone floor or adopt a number of slugs as hair accessories. On the plus side, at least you now know where to find an endless supply of slugs should you need them for Potions class.

Asher was running. Yes, yes, yes. He knew that he wasn't supposed to be doing that indoors, but desperate times called for drastic measures. He had just gotten done with Potions and it was no surprise that he had gotten lost, which was not a good thing with there being another class he had to get to. Fortunately Asher still had enough time to get there, but all the walls in the dungeons were starting to look the same and he was starting to panic.

What if he never got out of here? What if he died and his fate was to haunt the dungeons until the end of time, forever eleven years old and lost in the creepiest part of the castle? Merlin that sounded awful.

But there was hope. After turning a corner and the one after that and turning left and then turning right the boy came across a corridor he didn't recognize. From where he was, there appeared to be a flight of stairs that went up. Without hesitation he bolted down the corridor ... only to be taken aback by the sudden dip and find himself tumbling down into a pit.

SPLAT!

This certainly was not what he thought today would bring. Slime everywhere, in his hair and on his robes and likely down his underpants, and a giant slug stuck to his face. "UGH! GROSS!"

Chloe had made her way to the dungeons, why was she down here? Well, she hadn't fully decided yet, but she at least had plenty of excuses why if someone would ask her. Depending on who would ask her she knew right away she would use her brother Gunnar or the potions lab, but if it was a professor that might ask more questions she had her inspirations posters in her bag and would say she was going to stick some up down here. This place could use something cheery.

As she rounded the corner she stopped hearing someone say something that sounded like tross, but what was tross? Was tross even a word? Chloe stopped to think about this and decided quick that she heard the person wrong, but it really didn't matter what she heard she was now watching him.

"Are you alright?"

He probably would have felt a little embarrassed at how loud his voice travelled through the corridor and echoed back at him, but the Hufflepuff was a bit preoccupied with all the slime, the slub on his face, and the pain he felt on his rear end. This was a good excuse to be late to class, right? Surely it must. It couldn't have been a normal sight to see someone bathed head to toe in slug slime.

At the sound of a voice, the boy's head turned, revealing his slug-covered face to the girl. Only one brown eye looked at her as he thought about how to respond to her question. Did he even need to respond?

"Well ..." Asher responded, trying his best to grab a hold of that slimy slug that was stuck on his face. "I've been ..." Ugh. Why was getting a slug off his face so difficult? "... better."

Just then he managed to get a grip on the sticky thing and started to pull it away from his face. It was not as easy as a feat as one would think. So. Much. Mucus. "Yuck!" he exclaimed, plopping the slug into the slime pool with a plop.

Now for the challenge of this slimy situation: getting out. "Any ideas on how to get outa here without slipping?"

She watched her with a little concern and a little amusement. She felt guilty for being amused, but how couldn't you be when you saw someone in the slug pit? She had been there before, but she never really minded it as much as she felt others did. "How did you end up in there?" She never thought about the fact that some didn't know it was here, being here for the years she had she forgot what first years didn't know.

When he flung the slug she cringed a bit, "Be careful with them. You are in their home." Why did people get so grossed out so easily? She looked around before pulling her wand. First, let's get the slime off your hands and face, that will help your grip. Saying the cleaning spell she did the wand movements.

"Now give me your hand and I'll help you." She got on her knees and leaned over to grab his hand.
