Hi, friends!!!

My name around here is Emily and I’m SO very excited to join in with Seektober 2023. I’ve been big fan and follower over the years but never been brave enough to have a go at it, but this year I’ve decided to challenge myself! I’m very nervous about sharing, and I haven’t dabbled in art in a few years so go easy on me. I’m unsure on my art style, I am not very good, but love cartoon art so I think I’ll be practising this mostly. Anime art - UGH, I LOVE, but I’m still very much learning.

I’ll be doing the Aparecium challenge, although I haven’t really come up with a theme for my prompts. For now, as it’s my first year, I want to just see what inspires me, while mostly keeping the content Potter inspired, and hopefully my own SS characters.

I cannot wait to see everyone else’s Seektober contributions. The amazing work I’ve seen over the years has massively influenced me in having a go at it.

day 1 prompt: TEA!

My seektober debut! Despite going for the Aparecium challenge, I have to say this little guy was entirely inspired by the Dolores Umbridge prompt list. Honestly this makes me giggle and I had fun drawing it I haven’t quite mastered my ideal image of a cat just yet, so expect to see more felines in future sketches. Day 2s sketch is incoming too, if I don’t fall asleep!

P.S. I rly need to practice shading.

Look at that little feline cutie! Those eyes are making me melt. A cuppa AND a kitty, that’s the way to my heart!

Theo in a chibi-like art style me-thinks challenge accepted

and what a CUTE little kitty I love his little had and also that super subtle shading you added to the cup to give it a bit of dimension.

I love love love your kitty!! The cutest of little faces - I particularly love his wide eyes! Very much looking forward to seeing what else you create!

Completely different style to my first drawing I had a little experiment with watercolour pencils, it’s messy but I kind of love that. I didn’t mean for this one to become a whole page either lol but here we are.

this is a style of art that I am obsessed with but I can never really create myself and why I live vicariously through Mitsuki. Love this and especially the purple flower on the righthand side along with the orange one below it

I'm not really a cat-person, but that little cat face poking out from the tea cup.... GUHHHHH... Soooo adorable!!!! And I don't know what you're talking about because that shading is purrrrr-fect


And I love your next one with the use of watercolors for flowers. So pretty and can't help but smile whenever I look at it !

I'm obsessed with the entire look of your day 2!! I love that you did so many different styles for your flowers, and each one of them is so beautiful! Watercolor always creates such a gorgeous affect too on the page. Truly looks like a field of flowers!

day 3: flamboyant

Omgggg lol drawing faces is one thing but their BODIES… I haven’t quite captured the likeness of Solly here (his hair looked okay before I tried to make it curly! XD) but here he is, sporting a Peter Pan costume last term that he wasn’t too happy about.
My original vision was without pupils, working on different anime-style expressions, but I thought it looked better with. First of my SS character series, not as easy as I first imagined, but happy with the hat placement at least!

Phew, no more for today, lol! Just wanted to keep up with the days:prompts.

I’m happy you liked it! Unfortunately it’s my only watercolour success so far lol! But I will hopefully keep messing around with it.

day 4: fluffy

Ugh, I’ve hit a bit of a brick wall already with confidence and inspiration, and I wasn’t going to post this but my baby was a big fan of it so I felt better lol!! XD This is a photo I took before I ruined it with colour, so there are parts and shading that I would call… unfinished. I have a lot to learn!! But I am happy that this challenge is letting me practise.

Know who else was a fan of this? Both my kiddos I would have never thought to put a hamster in a cape for this Super Hammy has my heart.

day 5: halloween

Today I bought a black ink pen and I love love love it, and will probably overuse it from now on. XD

I’m happy with this little guy, although I need work on using coloured pencils and blending them.

Naaawwww, that makes me so happy that they liked it! :3 hahaha honestly my inspo has been random as hell so far.

Also that pumpkin... the shading is great, and the expression. Eeeee, so cute.
