ok some beginner mental gymnastics involved with this one. the brain is
always loud and it's difficult to focus so when I'm in lectures I doodle to keep
it quiet enough that I can focus, empties the mind and centres it and closes
it off from the invasions of legilimency distractions. so I basically just
went through my notebook pages from the last week or so and incorporated
all the ~doodles~ into this prompt. some came out better than others.

my favourites are the round little guys, the eye, and the creepy crawlies
(even though I greatly dislike actual creepy crawlies)

I spend a million years on the train two days a week and the journey takes me
through london, and I usually see the sunrise and sunsets and at one point the
sunrise coincided with crossing the thames. I always end up taking photos of
them because I do indeed love the colour(s) of the sky. so for this I used one
of those pictures as a reference.

buildings look a little crooked because I had to make a decision when I edited
the image and I decided it was better for the bridge to be straight lol. the
bridge more in the foreground is the millennium bridge which is the one that
goes snap in the half-blood prince film. (in the books it was the brockdale
bridge and in that timeline the millennium bridge wouldn't have existed in its
final form yet). (literally every time I see the bridge I remember the scene).
(london bridge is further in the background).

the colours are not as vibrant as I would have liked (and my phone did not pick
them up very well either so this is with editing) and the clouds etc are not as
well defined. but with more time I probably could have got it closer to where
I wanted it using many more layers. I kind of want to try more sky things.

also you can still see the corvid drawing on the other side of the page rip.
mufasa vibes but make it way more ominous.

I kind of wanted to do a Nem-related prompt so I went looking at the list with
that in mind. the first one on my masterlist was 'Vanish' which... to be honest...
was perfect. nemesis upstead is always vanishing without a word for one reason
or another, and has dipped out again just recently too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

could have gone conceptual with it but I was feeling brave and decided I would
attempt a veeeery loose sketch of them, something stylised. but I struggle to
stop myself going too detailed/close to life, so the result is that it is not the
stylised piece I wanted but it's also not wicked close to the reference either.
basically I am never totally happy. we all knew this. but actually self-critical
nature aside I'm actually pretty happy with this. it's a shame I did it in my tiny
A6 sketchbook and on the back of another piece because I know when I
attempt to draw it again later in a better sketchbook and with more time I'll
probably not like the result as much. but nem's them's the breaks.

I'm also encouraged by the fact that I know I can draw them and get it
reasonably close to the way I want it to look so that's something!! I have a
method that kind of works and everything

Turnabout is fair play - I want to lick those birds. The color is so nice and they remind me of marshmallow peeps. NOM. But the shading is so nice on those. Like for serious. The shading on the glasses is really nice too, actually... You're so punny punny.

The concept for the occlumency is solid too. I struggled with that prompt myself, and I like what you created AND I like sort of seeing what your brain is doing when it isn't doing anything else.

Your sunrise over the Thames is gorgeous. I know you aren't totally keen on how the colors turned out, but I think it makes the whole thing very dreamy and it has a VIBE of how the morning feels at that hour. I love it.

And yoru Nem looks JUST LIKE NEM. So good.

I like the little look into your mind with the compilation of these doodles! It's so pleasing to look at. The eye is definitely my favorite, and your little centipede (millipede?) is so realistic I got the heebie jeebies looking at him. They are my least favorite crawlers, but I like yours.

Sunshine I think is my favorite so far. The colors are absolutely beautiful, and i love the contrast between the softness of the skies and the harsher black in the city below. Beautiful!

I pretty much echo what others have said about 'occlumency' and your conceptualization. That is such a neat spin on it and I really find myself drawn to that cluster of arrows towards the bottom. Also the three ball people - they are adorbs. Your Mind Palace is a very interesting place

I feel like Abra likes your sunshine piece. It feels like an Abra piece. It is so pretty and warm and the softness of those peachy pink color clouds against the violet is so so so so nice.

this one is kind of absurd with a few leaps befitting the title of this thread.
for this I grabbed the nearest book and turned to page 394 (read: I grabbed
several books and turned to page 394 and was either uninspired by what I
found or disappointed to find there was no page 394 and then ended up going
with the book closest to me in any case) and looked for the first noun on the
page. the book was Catching Fire and the first noun was 'hands', to which i
replied with an emphatic 'no' (it would have taken... a while)

but 'tick tock' does appear several times, and it would have made sense to
draw a clock, but I am morally opposed to making sense, so instead I opened
tiktok (always very risky but I was following The Signs), and the first thing on
my fyp was a v funny video about an adorable little demon spawn of a cat. I
managed to stop myself scrolling after only six videos (!) and drew this based
on the cat. it's super simple but keeping it simple was the idea.

five prompts today and another five coming tomorrow at the veeery least.

more leaps! I was going to do this one for 'mischief' but something kept
drawing me back to this prompt. it's basically a nod to one of my favourite
little family units: my character kaiser, his son elio, aaaaaaaand a certain
candela. an unexpected little unit (and yet one that makes a lot of sense) that
came together in an unexpected way. and also full of love oR wHaTeVeR (I'm
still not allowed to use that word technically).

the reason for the spray paint is one of the things that ties them all together.
candela is very artistic and, as such, so is elio, and once upon a time kaiser
sort of dabbled, but mostly the connection there is the association with streets
and cities. elio is kind of bringing that back full circle.

You are SO good at texture with those colored pencils. I really want to lick that raspberry, and the sweatshirt looks legit SOFT. I'm just overcome by how good those are. Yikes.

I'm super drawn to that cat, though, with the big eyes and the sort of casual lines to it that I'm sure are not at all casual. I would wear that one on a big soft blue but not navy sweatshirt, just so you know.

originally this was going to be his bed/bedroom at home but I quickly realised
I would not have time to add in all the weird eccentric stuff to make it so
obviously his room. so it's just a bed in a bedroom with a dark space under
the bed and also a UFO lamp just because.

I say again, perspective is HARD.

his full name is Aurelio), and because this was already floating around the
brain, this is what I did for the prompt.

I'm treating it as a practice for doing something bigger and colourful later

Love. This prompt. HOW DARE YOU even more emo in that Candela used to tag and her mural work on the streets involves spray painting and you know full well she is buying Elio paints and those kitchen cabinets are probably serving as artistic surfaces for Elio to practice on I could probably flail and fuss at you for days about this buuuut lemme just focus on how nice those paint drips look, okay? The pooling up there around the rim and those long drips are so nice and the can itself is so well done.

Yooooooooooo that sweatshirt and the command you have of your colored pencils! This looks SO nice and the texturing you accomplished with those...how did you accomplish that? What is the technique?! It almost looks like...dot dot dot dot dot instead of swish swish swish but

Sherbet gave me a good laugh The shading and color on those leaves is so vibrant and nice. Also the shading on the lemons, which is harder to see because its all yellow but still soooooooo well done.

Holy RASPBERRIES. Those look like they could leap right off the page

I am especially impressed by the draping of that blanket over the foot of the bed and also that bedside table with drawers. Perspective is so hard and this is really REALLY well done.

SO I TOTALLY FORGOT that Seektober started a few days into October and so
I've been rushing on these prompts to get them all done by the end of the
month, and not the end of the thirty days. not that I regret it actually because
my last five are the ones I want to spend the most time on *mysterious wiggly
fingers* and now I will have that time even factoring in my schedule and
assignment.

so anyway. this is. well. it's... something. this is no one in particular, mid-way
through transforming using polyjuice potion, in such a way that you can sorta
actually see it's two people. artistic licence is gr8. initially was going to make
this nem but in the end drew it in low lighting and with no reference and
accepted it was just going to be Someone™.
