Terrarium Along the Corridor

As you walk down the corridor, you come across a large glass habitat. This terrarium contains various reptiles, spiders, and creepy crawlers from all over the world, along with a bit of vegetation. Pause and take a look as you go along your adventure. Just a word of caution: some of the spiders like to jump at the window. You have been warned.


OOC: All Ministry of Magic employees, regardless of their assigned department, are welcome to create their own roleplay in this thread.

Antigone was just walking... just walking, walking and crying, crying and walking. OoOOOOOOoooOo... creepy looking bugs and stuff. She stopped to stare at the little crawly things for a bit, tears freely flowing down her face.

She was pretty close to the glass when a spider jumped like right where her face should be. "AHHHHHH!" she screamed and stumbled back.

Samuel headed down the corridor, heading towards the direction of the offices of Level 4. He still needed to ask Sarah if she would like to attend Tasha's wedding with him, as a friend of course, and he couldn't do it if he hasn't seen her in DAYSSS! Thus explaining the reason why he just decided to come up here on his break.

As he was walking, he heard a woman's scream, which immediately set him off, and he dashed around the corner to see a woman looking soooo scared.

Wait.

He knew that woman! Her name was.... ANTIGONE. Yes, he was sure that was her name.

"Antigone," he said. "Are you okay?"

Antigone spun around when she heard someone call her name. It was the dishy guy from the Atrium... ERM... Brian, Blake... BEN. No that wasn't it... SAM aha!. She kind of spluttered for a moment and then turned sad eyes on,

"The ugly spider scared me... B-b-bu-but other than that I am alright.. maybe," she said in a tiny little voice. Tears began to splash down her cheeks again. "Good Merlin it's like a waterfall on my face and the bloody falcon is in my office and I can't do anything about it... it just won't leave!" she babbled as she searched her bag for a hanky or a tissue.

Spider? Riiiiiight.

At first, Samuel didn't see the terrarium, so he thought the woman was hallucinating stuff. But when he took a few steps closer to her, he noticed the glass habitat thingy with all different types of reptiles in it. Spiders included. He scratched the side of his head as he examined the habitat for a brief second or two, and then he looked towards Antigone.

"Falcon...in your office? Weird," he commented. This was the day that he had wished he had brought a handkerchief or something with him! But wait, he had MAGIC! He took out his wand, gave it a nice swish, and then an orange handkerchief appeared. After handing it to Antigone, he asked, "Do you want to talk about what has made you upset?"

Antigone took the handkerchief and was about to thank him when he said something about talking about why she was upset... She had just said the falcon was there.. oh wait he didn't know about the falcon. Crud... "I... uh... I... Well, it's this guy... but it's not like... I, uh" she spluttered before she threw herself onto the man and clung to him, her body shaking with her sobs.

Wow this guy was going to think she was a freak... first the Atrium scene when she had been so awkward now crying, screaming, and clinging... Yep... she looked like a nutter for sure.

Samuel was still curious as to what the falcon was all about, but when Anitgone mentioned a guy... nah, he was still confused about what the falcon was for. "It's going to be okay," he reassured her. But he couldn't say much more since the woman had clinged herself onto him. EEEP! The man stood there awkwardly for a few moments before slowly patting the crying woman's back for comfort.

What was he suppose to do? HE DIDN'T KNOW!

"It's going to be okay," he repeated again.

Antigone was starting to calm the sobbing a bit when she heard Sam tell her it was going to be okay... Would it? She wanted to talk to Ethan but he was like nowhere to be found and like that was not their kind of relationship thing anyway.

She finally stopped sobbing into the man's chest and looked up at him, black makeup all over her eyes and said, "I am SO sorry about this... It's just that welll... I am a bit confused and you you you are the first person I have actually seen since the bloody bird brought me the letter. The falcon... he tamed it... I hate that bloody bird right now." She dabbed at her eyes with the orange hanly and looked at it with an odd expression and asked, "You have orange hankies? THat is a bit odd don't you think." Pot calling the kettle black and all that she thought to herself.

Samuel thought back on the last meeting with Antigone, then he realized that their last meeting had been somewhat awkward. Though, last time she had been battering her eyelashes at him, now she was just a complete mess. WHY did some men have to be so cruel? He never tried to hurt a woman's feeling, but somehow it always happened even if he tried not to so badly. Maybe this man hadn't really meant to hurt Antigone? Maybe it just HAPPENED like it sometimes happened to him. The only way would to find out was to ask what happened, but he didn't want to do that. He would wait until she calmed down a little bit.

"It's fine," he reassured her. "I'm just still a little bit confused on why a man used a falcon...to send a letter...which upset you." He knew he was probably going to be wishing that he didn't understand once the woman explained what happened. "Do you need someone to get the bird out of your office? I'm sure we can find someone," he offered. He would even do it! "I don't think it's odd," he responded. "I love the color orange."

Orange. Was. Awesome.

Antigone blotted at her eyes with the orange hanky and smiled wetly. "I am in no fit state to call anyone or anything odd considering the two times we have met I have been more than a bit awkward," she said as she disentangled herself from him.

"I think Lemuel will have to leave on his own. I am not sure if you have ever come across a falcon face to face. Rather large bird.... and he can be mean when he isn't happy. Malachi, the guy, uses Lemuel to deliver his mail. He works with magical creatures and whatnot... I have bothered you enough as it is, I will just be going. Thank you for letting me cry on you, Sam. Hopefully we will meet again when I am not in such a terrible state," she said between sniffles. She held his hanky out for him to take.

Nikos didn't know about Misty, but he was tired and hungry. He had Marigold to thank for that, having them run around the ministry and miss their lunch. Were not gonna even mention the job they had on the second floor, which at this point he could care less about the doxie stealing man.

Breathing a sigh of relief, a small smile touched his lips as he finally spotted his raven. He kinda felt bad, she had been in the office all day while he was running around and without a meal as well; he would remember to bring food for her next time. "They'll have to do until I let her outside or get home, cause she's not getting that spider." Giving a low whistle, he called his raven over.

Marigold spread her wings open and flew on top of the habitat, the spider had gotten close enough that she could reach it without entering the habitat. She heard the voice of a familiar woman, but paid it no mind, her focus remaining on the unfortunate spider. It was the sound of Nikos' whistle calling her, that brought her out of the trance. Head swirving, she looked at him, then the spider, contemplating eating before going to him. After a moment she finally flew over to him, landing on his shoulder.

Misty turned her head and gave the raven her full attention. She wanted to see her try to catch that spider, and seeing as the eight legged creature was in a tank, she figured it would be hard. Still, it would give her a laugh to see Marigold try.

Folding her arms, she waited as Nikos called the raven, which only made her have a mental fight with herself. And here, Misty thought only people could mentally fight with themselves. Slightly jumping as the bird finally made her mind up and flew to Nikos, she asked, "So, shall we head back to the office now? Maybe they will have something for us to do now."

Or perhaps she could juuuust go home.

Damien was chuckling at the sotry Evander had been telling. "Shrunken heads DO tend to talk a lot of smack," he commented as they went along. Oooooo snakes and spiders and crawly critters... YAY!

Damien was instantly intrigued by the critter display and joined Evander as he leaned forward to peer inside. "I do believe that the spider there," he said while pointing to a little black spider with a red hourglass upon it's back, "is a Black Widow and very poisonous," he said with a grin. What an interesting display... he could easily kill someone with some of the venom from these critters.

WHOA... did he just SAY Curioser and Curioser... That was AWESOME. Chuckling to himself, Damien said, "Yes... it is indeed."

"You should try tying their hair together though, when you fling them they're very effective at tangling around the feet of whoever you're pursuing. You gotta be able to manage wandless after all." Evander wondered how many of their co-workers could survive without a wand.

He shook his head.

"I reckon, that there, about the widow, is useful information. You just never know when that little factoid might come in handy." Evander pointed out and leaned closer, smiling at the spider.

"I suppose we should at some point head back and see if any real work is in the mix." Real. Not games. Real. Evander shrugged and straightened up.

Damien laughed heartily and shook his head. "That sounds like an excellent idea, one that I must try out some time. The like... things... do deserve a good flinging if you ask me," he said through fits of laughter.

Without saying a word Damien simply nodded his head. He figured that Evander might appreciate that little tidbit of information as much as he did. Heh. Great minds think alike and all.

Sighing he pulled out a pocket watch from his waistcoast pocket and flipped it open. "I reckon you are right about that. As much as I hate to get back into that room I guess we should," he said grudgingly. "Hey at least we now know where to get coffee and look for more poisonous critters."

Briony walked along the hall of the four floor on her way back to to the Transportation Department. She had decided to eat in the cafeteria today and eating there was never a good thing because she had to pass the terrarium on the way back. Taking a deep breath she walked past it slowly and all of a sudden screamed as a jumping spider hit the glass. The blond quickly covered her mouth and looked around.

Has hadley walked along the corridor on an exploration of his new place of work work he found himself confronted with an army of insects and reptiles, the reptiles were fine but he had always had a problem with creepy crawlys even ones behind glass. Suddenly out of no where he heard a scream, it all most ran in the direction of the woman it had come from and when he arrived he placed a hand on her shoulder and asked "Are you ok what happened'

Briony turned to see some younger man and his hand on her shoulder. She giggled slightly in spite of her moment of fear. "I'm fine thank you. Just some jumping spider hit the glass," she smiled and took a step back. Phew that was over and she had sort of really just embarrassed herself. Hmm...might as well meet this man. "I'm Briony Whitehall. I work in the Transportation Department," she introduced, holding a hand out. Yeah she really hated introductions with hand shaking.

Missy walked she wasn't freak out but fighting them off she heard a scream and ran to the women she saw Hadley she look close into glass like normal goths would man i wish i had pet spider she said to herself
