This's the office space for Maintenance people. Those who are in charge of the whole Ministry's beauty and cleanliness. The same grey colored cubicle furnitures are here too, for the staffs to work effieciently and peacefully. Do discuss and share the work with your Division Head. You know the drill, right?! xD

Clutching a handful of parchments Olivia made her way into the Maintenance office.She had to set about creating a map for each of her employee's...except Max, he'd made his own.It was important for them to each know where they would be working during the Quidditch World Cup.Having already planned out their sections it was left to her to put it all on paper.

Finding her desk amongst all the grey, Olivia pulled out her chair and dumped her things on the table.Taking off her coat she placed it carefully on the back of her chair and sat down.Spreading out her notes, she began chewing the end of her quill and she stared at the plans. "Right, lets get this done then," she mumbled to herself.

Max entered the gray office a little flustered. Setting down his stuff on a chair. "That bird is going to drive me up the wall, 10 minutes, and I already have a head-ache Its a pain in the...oh" max said suprissed "I'm sorry thought i was alone." Good thing he looked up on time, don't want to use that kind of language around your boss. " how are you today Olivia?" He asked finally. Max then flinched a bit. And massaging the back of his head he said "That's no owl...It has the wingspan of an eagle." His neck cracked as he rolled his head around. "Anyhoo." He took out a bottle of watter and drank a few sips. "anything I can help you with?"

With her tongue stuck out the side of her mouth, Olivia was the picture of concentration.At least until she was distracted by a voice that entered the room, a rather ranting voice.Placing her quill on the desk she lifted her eyes and looked at him with amusement, even more so when he realised she was there.Chuckling at his surprise, Olivia waved a hand to dismiss his comment. "No need to apologise, we all get those days Max.Here take a seat and have a rest," she smiled, gesturing to one of the many empty desks in the room. "I'm fine, thank you.Just finalizing the plans of the stadium for you all...well except you," she winked at him, "you made your own.And I'm nearly done so no help needed, but thank you for the offer."

With a final scribble she had added all the team leaders names to the list on the plan, and satified with it, rolled it back up and secured it with a piece of ribbon.Sighing she looked back over at Max. "Have you by any chance seen our new recruit? I noticed a new name in the filing cabinet, but have yet to meet them.I suppose I'll have to fill them in on what's going on with the World Cup." Oh so much more work when you're in charge of a division.

Sitting doen he said "Why yes I just met her. Alyssa I beleive. She seems rather nervous. But I guess I was too when I started." He looked around the room, but then he realised what she was in for. "But at least I started right before planing. She's going to need to catch up quickly. Maybe another map will help her since she wasn't here for the last meeting." He fell silent then geting a sudden urge for sugar, he grabbed his coat. Reaching into a few pocket, he finnally found a packet of gum. "Want one?" he asked puting a strip into his own mouth.

Alyssa had left Brain Lee's office and made her way to the Magical Maintenace offices. When she looked she saw only two people talking to one another. And of the them she already knew. It was Max, the other she decided must be Ms. Olivia her division head. She casually walked over to the couple and introduced herself "Hello, My name is Alyssa! I'm your new help. Where would you like me to start?" She held out her hand waiting for a shake.

Crossing her legs and leaning back in her chair, Olivia listened as Max explained about meeting the new girl. "Oh I see, yes you're right I'd be surprised if she wasn't nervous.Most people are on their first day," she smiled, taking out her wand and tapping it on the table causing a cup to appear.Swirling her wand inside absentmindedly, Olivia filled it with steaming hot coffee, and took it in her hands to warm them. "True, true," she nodded in agreement with him, "poor girl has probably chosen the most hectic time ever to join us...We'll have to see which team she would like to be in I suppose," scratching her chin Olivia placed her cup back down on the table and looked over at Max, who was unwrapping some gum, before offering her one. "Oh, thank you.I'll save it for later, not sure it would go with the coffee." she responded, taking one from him and placing it in her pocket.

Just as she spun round in her seat to face her desk again Olivia heard the door open, causing her to turn in a semi-circle and face that instead...

Standing up from her seat Olivia thrust her hand forward and shook the one of the new arrival, with a large grin. "Welcome Alyssa! I'm Olivia Hawthorne, your Division Head, and I believe you've already met Max Edison," she asked, nodding in his direction.Where should she start eh? Oh she was very eager and that was brilliant! Taking a glance at her desk Olivia decided it was best for the moment to just talk about what was going on rather than go through a visual plan that wasn't complete yet.Instead she launched into a long explanation... "Well I don't know if Mr Lee told you anything, I'm assuming you've met him.." she asked, tilting her head as she looked at Alyssa, "but we are in the middle of planning for the Quidditch World Cup.Our job in the Maintenance department will be to keep the whole stadium clean, tidy and to fix anything that is broken.Mr Lee has also requested that we help out the security teams if needed as well, but I will get to that later.Why don't you take a seat?" she smiled, gesturing to an empty one opposite her own, as she herself sat down again, it gave her time to take a deep breath before continuing. "So far we have established how many teams we'll have and where they shall be placed.I'm working on a map of the stadium with all of them dotted on it, plus the names of the team leaders.It should be ready to put on the wall in here by the end of the week, and if you wish to have your own then please let me know," she smiled getting into her stride and hoping that Alyssa was keeping up. "Do you have any questions so far, or would you like to see the notes we made in our last meeting now?" So much for the poor girl to take in on her first day.If she could understand it all Olivia was sure they'd have a very good worker on their hands.

"Sounds like a very busy time" Alyssa stated has she sat down the chair oppistie of Olivia, she had forgetten about the world come while she was backpacking around the world, she didn't have much time for sporting events durning those days. But she was ready for the challenge! "No I don't have any questions, I think it would be best if I didn't coordinate my own team just yet, I'm still learning the ropes! It doesn't really matter what team I'm on." Alyssa was just excited to work. "Oh..would it be alright......" Alyssa trailed off, maybe it was best not to make requests on her first day.

Putting his gum away he looked around to see Alyssa enter. "Olivia...Did you leave the notes from the last confrence on the wall?" Max asked as Olivia finished her explaination. "I think before we go any farther, Alyssa, you should take a look at those notes. Give a better idea of what we've been up to and get a little more up to date."

Turning back to Olivia he said "Oh, and I hear You made a few spells to help us do a more efficiant job. are they ready for a demonstration, or are they some secret?" He said chuckling a bit but hopeing that she wasn't going to keep them from him.

"Oh yes, it's been quite hectic," she chuckled, smoothing out her robes over her knees.No questions? Olivia sighed a little at that.She wouldn't have minded answering anything but she still had to get her breath back from the long winded explanation. "Oh no no, no problem about that," she smiled, waving a dismissing hand in the air, "perfectly understandable that you wouldn't want to, must find your feet first.If it's ok with you I'll put you on Max's team seeing as you both seem to get on already," she glanced over to him to confirm he was alright with that. "He is covering the area behind the left side goal posts, but you'll see that on the plan when it's up."

Olivia was about to move on when Alyssa spoke again.Would it be alright....to/for/do what? she wondered. "Go ahead," she smiled, "would it be alright for what? You can ask me, I won't bite your head off!"

"Yes I did," she nodded in confirmation to Max. "They are still there, but I will also add them to the wall in here with the plan when it's finished.He's right though," Olivia continued, bringing her gaze momentarily back to Alyssa, "you should read them, it will tell you who is in charge of each team and where they will be stationed."

Ah yes the spells!
Olivia chuckled along with Max. "As a matter of fact I do have a couple.'Hoovatis' makes a vacuum cleaner out of a bag, and 'Bufflio' shines up metals so you can see your face in them." Taking her wand out of it's holder Olivia looked over at Max again. "Would you be able to fetch me a large rubbish bag and a couple of buffing cloths from the supply closet please? I need them to demonstrate the spells and the wand movements."

Smiling at Alyssa slightly as she was placed on his team. Also a little curious at what she was going to ask he said "Yea, she doesn't bite...Though she might bark if you fall asleep during a meeting." Opening his mouth again but shutting it rather quickly, thinking it best not to compare her to an animal anymore.

Max nodded "a Rubbish bag and a buffing cloth" Standing up he took a few brisk strides towards the door and shut it behind him.

Alyssa blushed a little before she spoke, hoping that neither of them caught it when she replied "I was going to ask to put with Max's team, since he's the only person I seem to know." She felt foolish now that she had said the words out loud. "But it seems that you have read my mind! Now...let's see these spells, it would be great to learn some news ones, not only for the World Cup clean up, but my own house. I live in the small apartment in Diagon Alley! You wouldn't believe the mess a 1 bed room apartment could make...."Alyssa felt like she had said too much. Why was she always doing that! It was like word vomit, first in Brain's office and now in the magical maintenace office. She woud have to learn to control her mouth!

Max entered back into the office. Two cleaning clothes sticking out of his pocket, in the crook of his arm, and 2 hand fulls of shredded cardboard. "Well the box was going to be trashed anyways, might as well putt it to use before we do." Putting the Cardboard to represent confetti on the table, along with the Rubbish bag and clothes. He stepped back "Ready whenever." He said takeing his wand out and sitting down to practice wand movements.

The last word accompanied by a nod and a wink.Giving him the thumbs up as he repeated her request, Olivia watched as he made for the door and the supply closet. "Thank you!" she called after him, then turned her attention back to Alyssa.

"I'm glad I was able to fulfill your request," she smiled at her new charge. "Never be afraid to ask anything, I'll always try and help best I can."

An apartment in Diagon Alley eh? Olivia wondered if they were expensive, she was looking for somehwere of her own after all.Making a mental note to ask about it at a better time, she simply nodded. "Oh I know how much mess I make, believe me when these spells actually worked I was thrilled!"

Hearing the door go again, Olivia looked round and grinned when she saw Max enter with everything she needed. "That is brilliant, good idea to use the box," she said, clapping her hands together like some excited schoolgirl.Standing up she picked up the torn box from the desk and scattered it over the floor, silently praying that it would work now...in front of people. "Right," she began, taking hold of the rubbish bag in her left hand and her wand in her right, "this is for the 'Hoovatis' spell and what you do is the same as I'm doing.Hold the bag in the opposite hand to your wand, with the opening facing the floor.Point your wand at the bag, say or think the spell, whichever works for you, and do a strong tick movement at the same time.Like this...." Arm stretched out in front of her Olivia flicked her wrist in the well known tick shape, as if she was grading a school paper, and said firmly "Hoovatis!" Almost immediately the bag sprung into an upright position all on it's own and started moving back and forth sucking up all the pieces of paper she had previously spread around.Once the bag was full it simply tied the top and dropped to the ground waiting to be thrown away. "There," she smiled, looking at their faces and trying to gauge their reaction. "It really is that easy.Who wants to have a go first?"

Alyssa was glad she was able to see that spell. She realized how easy it would be to clean up her own apartment after work. "I'll give it a go!" she said. She opened the bag and spread the cardboard back out on the floor. She picked up her wand and the bag in the other hand and shouted "Hoovatis!" The bag just as before immediately begun to suck up all the scraps on the floor however, unforunately that bag did not stop there this time, it started after Alyssa's feet and even sucked her shoe right off her foot! Alyssa was so embaressed! "OH...I guess I went a little over board" She laughed at herself a little, hoping that would make the situation better. But how on Earth was she going to be in Magical Maintenance if she can't even get simple spells to work.

Max Held back his laughter. Shaking his head he jumped up and opened the bag. Takeing out Alyssa's shoe, and spilled the cardboard ot of it. Giving the shoe back to Alyssa he flipped the bag upside down and spilled out the rest of the cardboard in the bag. Taking out his wand he held the bag in his left, wand in right. and took a deep breath. And said "Hoovatis" Making a small tick mark in the air. The bag flew through the air as though some invisable man made it. Then suddenly the bag started blowing everything around instead of sucking it up. Papers went flying everywhere. He grabbed the bag and it isntintaniously went limp "Hmmm...I guess I acciedentaly put it on reverse mode." He said looking at it trying to find a switch. "Does this by any chance come with a manual?" he asked "I knew we should have kept that reciept." He said mockingly

Alyssa was glad she was not the only one who had a slight issue with the spell! She laughed a little because he mistake was not as bad as hers! "Ok!" Alyssa said "I'm going to do this right this time" Taking the bag back from Max she spread the flakes of card board around on the floor stuck out her wand hand and said "Hoovatis!" with more confidense than last time! And to Alyssa's relief the bag sucked up all the flakes and tied it's self closed and neatly set it's self on the floor "Thank goodness!" Alyssa sighed "I just needed a little practice! Take that Max!" She was teasing him and giving him a slight tap on the arm. Alyssa loved to create a little friendly competition. While she was in school, a competition always made the spells easier for her to learn.

"Well Finally." he said tieing the bag. And sat back down "it just take 4 times" He said, then he light his wand again and started messing with the colors.

Alyssa smiled at him "Well done Max! So Ms. Olivia, now that we've both conquered that spell, you said you a have one more to show us. What do you have?" Alyssa was excited to see what else Olivia had come up with. Alyssa was starting to feel more comfortable and was coming out of her shell a little more. Her legs no longer felt like jello and her breathing had returned to normal. She has successfully made a fool of herself and they still liked her. Life was good! While waiting for Olivia to show them the new spell Alyssa began to bite her finger nails, a habit she picked up in school.

Olivia sat herself down to watch how two of her charges managed the spell.She wasn't expecting them to get it straight away, spells always took a little time and they had a few weeks after all to perfect it.She nodded and smiled as Alyssa took hold of the bag the way she had shown, then winced slightly as it tried sucking everything in sight. "Not to worry," she laughed, waving her hand in the air, "I didn't expect you to be perfect first time.You'll get it soon."

Giving Alyssa a consoling pat on the shoulder, Olivia smirked at Max as he had his go.It was all she could do to keep hold of the papers on her desk as the bag went blowing across the room. "Woah there! I don't know how you managed to get that to happen, Max." Laughing she got up from her chair and tidied the papers now strewn across the other desks. "And no it doesn't have a manual or a receipt thank you, no more sarcastic remarks about my spell..." she winked, tapping on the head with her wand as she walked past.

Olivia was glad to see that they wanted to perfect it, even turning it into a competition.Nothing wrong with that as long as it was a healthy one.She clapped her hands at both of them as they eventually managed to get it right. "There you go, you see, I knew you would! Just takes some practice."

"Ah yes," she nodded at Alyssa, tapping her wand in her hand as she thought about it, "I did say that.The 'Bufflio' spell for cleaning metals, but what shall I use to demonstrate....Max? Are you listening?" Glancing over as he played with the coloured sparks from his wand, Olivia gave him a questioning look and a cocked eyebrow.Chuckling to herself at his apparent lack of an attention span, Olivia suddenly had an idea, and beckoned them both over to the door of the office. "Right I think we shall use the office name plate for this demonstration," she said, opening the door and resting it against the wall. "First we'll make it a little dirty, no point cleaning it if it doesn't need it." Waving her wand over the sign it suddenly became slightly grimey and tarnished. "Next we take the cloth and hold it against the metal we want to clean.Now this will work better with the cleaning solutions we have in the supply closet, but for now we'll just do it without, it will still be shiny.Point your wand at it and as you say the spell do a small circular motion with your wand, like so..." Olivia held the cloth in her left hand and pointed her wand with her right.Creating a little O shape she firmly recited the spell "Bufflio" and the cloth set off on it's own, moving across the metal in a circular pattern as if being moved by an invisible hand.

"That's great! Let me try" Alyssa took the cloth and went to the office door and put the cloth against the door handle. "Bufflio!" She said making a circle with her wand. Alyssa was proud of the fact that she was at least able to do this one on the first try! The cloth went around the door handle and polished it right up! "I love these spells Ms. Olivia!" Alyssa was surprised to find out she was having fun at work, she didn't know that was possible, but some how she had mangaged it. "So Ms. Olivia, what maps did you want to show me in prepartion for the Wrold Cup. Maybe Max and I can help you finish up the last few plan?" Alyssa offered her help and waited for a response.

Max looked up at the mention of his name. "Oh Im sorry" he said putting his wand away. FOCUS, you have the attention span of a 5 year old.

He watched olivia do the spell. "Hmmm.... would it work with things you cand reach?" He asked looking up athe the metal rim around the clock over the door. He pointed to the cloth that was still sitting on the table. "Accio" he mummered. and the cloth went flying through the air. He looked from the cloth to the clock and back. "Wingardium Leviosa" and the cloth levitated up to the clock, releasing it just right so it would stay on it. He pointed tathe part that was showing "Bufflio." but nothing happened. "BUFFLIO!" still nothing. He turned his body in order to get better aim, "Bufflio!" and the Cloth started to move around the rim. after the 3rd time around it got to the bottom and fell off. "Ummm... you missed a spot." he said to the cloth. "Oh" he said turning back to Olivia " right no more dissing you're spells, sorry" He said with a childish grin.

"Don't get your hopes up, I already asked. But theres going to be alot more to do soon especially since the World Cup is creeping closer." He said to Alyssa. Then turned to Olivia. "hows our recruiting going. We got one more but we still need some many more people. It'll be a mess for our groups to take 2 diffrent posts."

"How many more people are we looking for?" Alyssa asked "If we can't find anymore, we'll just have to make due with what we have!" She was optimistic about things and didn't mind doing a little extra work if they came up short of people in the end. "So Max, since you don't think Ms. Olivia needs help planning, and since I'm on your team...Do YOU have anything to show me?" Alyssa was glad she had met Max, they seemed to get along all right and she was glad to make a friend. She had not had any since school, becuase when you travel, it's hard to keep steady friends. She was glad the for company.

Isabella entered the Mintenance office, holding her bag tightly. If anything happened to these potion samples...
Mr. Lee said she had to show Olivia the potion samples and demonstrate them, and also discuss the cleaning materials.
Isabella closed the door behind her, looking around the grey office.

Hmm, what did she really need to know "Well for starters you need to see our layout."he walked over to Olivias desk he saw the layout that she was making, takeing a finished one he said "You don't mind olivia, but I don't have my copy with me." Not waiting for a response he went to a small table and put it down so Alyssa could see. "this is our QWC layout of the stadium and partialy the grounds around it."


"We are stationed at the left feild goal hoops. Olivia's team near the Top Box, Callie's team on the Right field goal hoops. and Isabella at the locker rooms.Oh and here she is right on cue." he said looking around to see isabella walk in. "So any questions about our position or anything else here on the map?" he asked turning back to Alyssa
