This thread is for IC purposes only. The members of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team will be selected by the Flying Official (potterobsessionist) and the Hogwarts RPG Admin (Zoe) after the completion of this survey.
The following team positions are available: 1 keeper, 1 beater, 3 chasers, 1 seeker, and 3 reserves.

One lap around the pitch was done before he knew it, the Ravenclaw banking and turning the curve to start the second one without stop. His future potential teammates up in the air with him and Septimus was just as aware of each and every one of them as they flew laps than when they would play and had to worry about the added dangers of bludgers and distracting snitches. Before long laps two, three and four were complete and the third year was finishing up his fifth just as he heard the tweet of the whistle, answering the call to see what Captain Juni had to say.
It seemed the older girl was claiming one of the beater spots on the team, leaving the rest only. Good for Septimus who was hoping to reclaim the chaser spot he had earned last term. Rotating around though…he could be cool with that. He took notice of where everything was marked off, chaser and keeper…beaters…seeker…and another chaser and keeper since they had to face off. The Ravenclaw waiting until they were released and taking off on his broom once more, heading towards one of the ends to start as a chaser as instructed.
The action bringing him to the firstie Ravenclaw boy guarding the center hoop and the older Chloe who had grabbed a quaffle marking her as a prospective chaser as well. Septimus swooped down to grab his own, the ball secure in his hold as he flew up, debating his first move.

So three Seekers, a Chaser... maybe a Beater. A Keeper. But no one willing to do passing drills with her. Chloe sighed and tossed the ball forward a few dozen yards, then zoomed to catch it. Playing catch with herself was lame. Passing drills were better.
Or scoring on that Keeper. Chloe dropped her quaffle and whistled at Septimus. "Hey, Chaser! Let's score on that kid trying out for Keeper. Overhead pass to me at the halfway point, and then get in position by the left goalpost." She trusted that he would want to play with her, and Chloe zipped toward the point halfway between the Chaser section and that Keeper.

Nettie finished her laps and lowered herself so she could hear Juni go over the next set of instructions. Nettie knew her first station was going to be the Chaser station, although she was definitely going to be headed to all of them. She'd played Chaser last term, but that didn't mean Juni might think she was a better fit for another position.
Kicking off the ground and flying off towards the Chaser section. She took the Quaffle in her hand, smiling to herself at the familiar feeling of the ball in her hand. She flew towards the pitch and began to lob them into the hoops, waiting to see if anyone was going to use the Keeper station and try to stop them.

The whistling not done by a whistle caught his attention just as he was about to maneuver in for a shot and he paused to respond. His eyebrow raising as he listened to the plan laid out before him. Chloe had a great idea and he nodded to the affirmative. “Got it.” Septimus assured her aloud, adjusting his position above the pitch before taking off to complete his first portion of the arranged move. Let’s see if the young one didn’t get caught up with two players coming at him.
Zooming towards the halfway point, the third year kept his eyes on Chloe to know where she was. Then bracing himself, Septimus pulled the quaffle from near his body and back behind his head before letting it go from his throwing arm towards his teammate. He paused for but a moment before keeping his momentum and flying off towards the left goal post.

Anddddddddd caught. Chloe snagged the quaffle and pulled it in hard against her belly, tucking it safely as if there was any possible way that a Beater would knock a Bludger her way. Not in this drill, but best show Juni everything she's got.
Septimus moved into position, and Chloe admired how fast he was on his broom. Perfect. It would be fun to play with him on the pitch for real. And now... it was up to him. Chloe threw the quaffle long and hard, directly toward where she expected Septimus to be in a few seconds.
Juni flew around the pitch, stopping by each of the stations. First she stopped by the beaters station. Of course, she summoned one of the bats. It wasn’t her bat but it would do. She watched as the ones who were there were looking out for bludgers. Hanna was the first to make contact. ”Great hit, Hanna.” The captain beamed at her. She watched the others as well and moved on toward another station.
Moving toward the seekers station Juni seen that both little Chloe and Tad were busily looking for the snitch. Great! She nodded to both of them before turning to leave them to it. One of them would find the snitch and she would keep an eye on them to see who did.
Next she went to check on the keepers and chasers. Mark had positioned himself near the center ring and was waiting on a quaffle to come he’s way. Nettie, big Chloe and Septimus had headed off toward a quaffle. Chloe and Septimus were passing a quaffle. ”Great pass, and great teamwork too guys.” Really the captain was impressed.
Noticing that Nettie was down by the other loops she flew down there to give the other girl someone to block her shot. Even though Juni was a beater now, most of the time when she played with her family or even pick up games she played keeper so she could also play that position. Not very well but okay enough to help out with tryouts. ”Come on, Nettie give it your best shot.” She said cheekily getting into position in the center of the loops. She was ready kind of.
Alright Juni checked the time after keeping or lack of keeping Netties quaffle throw and decided that it was time to move to the next station before they ran out of time to do so. Hopefully they would at least have time to switch one more time before tryouts were over.

She blew the whistle and flew up to the middle of the pitch. ”Change stations everyone!” She shouted loud enough for everyone to hear. She waited to give everyone time to finish what they were doing, decide where they were going next and to get there before making her own way around to watch.
ooc: Sorry the delay. All of you guys are doing great! Just have your charries finish up and move to the next station. I should be posting the next post in around 24-36 hours. Swoosh. Swoosh. This was easy when no one was guarding you! Nettie knew it wasn't realistic, but that didn't mean she couldn't show off her arm. She felt like she'd gotten stronger since last term and had a bit more OOMPF behind all of her throws.
And then, finally, another person came in to play Keeper, and it was none other than the Captain herself. That was good, because Nettie would have felt kind of bad ganging up on that new kid who had floated over to the Keeper station. In a real game, the poor guy wouldn't be trying to catch three quaffles, so why do that during tryouts? Chloe and Septimus seemed to have had that down.
She wound up her arm, gave it a shot towards the left hoop - ANNNND literally as soon as the quaffle left her hand, Juni had blown her whistle and sent them off to the next station. Whoops. Well, she'd gotten a few good throws in, hopefully she'd seen that and would use it to judge her adequately.
Naturally she wanted to float over to the Seeker station, but Chloe and that young first year were over there and it looked kind of crowded. Hmmm. Maybe she would wait for them to get out of the way. Instead, she went to the Beater section, which was relatively empty, and grabbed a bat. She hadn't really done ANY beating in her youth league and hadn't played it last term...but why the heck not?
Bracing herself, she locked her eyes on one of the bludgers that was headed her way and she tightened her grip on the bat. One, two...THREE! She took her arm and with all her strength, SWUNG the bat at the bludger and watched with a smile as it went veering off towards the other end of the pitch. She moved slightly to the left as another one came at her, and she tried to pick out a target. Winding up again, she decided to try and aim it in the general direction of the nearby goal posts.
BOOM! She smacked the bludger again, and was pleased to see that it went RIGHT towards the goal posts. It didn't hit one, but it was at least in the general direction. Success!

Hanna looked over at Juni as she commented on the hit she'd made with the bat. Feeling almost a little flushed at the compliment, Hanna grinned and said "Thanks Juni!" Before zooming off to try and catch another bludger to whack at.
It wasn't too long before the whistle sounded and it was time to move onto a different position.
It made sense to move clockwise, and off to the keeper/chaser position. Watching as Nettie moved on to the Beater position, Hanna flew towards the Quaffle that Nettie had just thrown towards the goal. As it was falling, she grabbed it, and held the actual ball towards her side, protected under her arm. In all honestly, the bat felt more comfortable; flying around holding a bat, compared to flying around holding a ball. But it still didn't feel as awkward as some of the ballet moved she learned.
She flew around, trying to look towards the hoops for the best angle to shoot. Realising that in a real game, she wouldn't have long to make this decision, she made the split second decision to just THROW it.

Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Wooo boy, okay Mark it was now or never. He had 2 Chaser against him. The nerve to do his best was weighing down him now. He wanted to show his best at this position, but also. The two trying out at the Chaser position were surely doing the same.
He kept his eyes on the two of them as they near his...er...the goal posts. He spotted the younger of the two. He kept his eye more on the Quaffle as best he could than on the two of them coming toward him. Should he make a move on the Quaffle now or wait for the shot toward the Goal? Uncle Aegis would play the more aggressive way, as he was a Quodpotter, Mark considered it a moment but taking into account his size, the young first year Ravenclaw instead pulled back the bristles of his broom barely brushing against the lower right side of the left goal post.
It was going to be a pass and then a shot by the incoming chaser coming at this side. He will protect this Post.
The Whistle blew, and they were told to move to the next positions but Mark wanted to show his mettle as a Keeper and that he could make quick choices under pressure when the situation counted on him.

Oh no, no, Potter better watch it! Growing up with the Potters Chloe wasn't at all nervous when Tad came flying over, but she wasn't going to give her spot up without a fight. She flew around before giving him a grin then dove straight down before catching a snitch and pulling back up.
Just as she pulled back up she heard the captain tell them to head to another place. Where to go? Tossing the snitch over her shoulder she headed to the next station which was the chaser. "I don't know how well I'll do. I've never done anything else but seeker." She had been training for seeker since she started riding, but she was willing to try.

Tad squinted his little blue eyes as he searched for the snitch. It was hard to see out in the light. Plus, seeing everyone else fly made him want to see how well they flew. He glanced at Chloe to see her searching too before he went off the other direction to circle the area.
It seemed hopeless since Tad had no idea on the time limit they were given. Would there another test. What if he didn't find it? What if he did find it but Chloe caught it. Would he then have to leave the Pitch and wait until next year? He didn't want to think about this but he did, making him search wildly around. It really seemed futile until.... there it was. It was flying near the hoops. Tad glanced quickly to see if Chloe saw it too before he darted towards it. His movement was a bit shaky, whether it was from the broom or the pressure he was giving himself he managed to avoid a tosses Quaffle and the other flyers to go after the snitch.
Tad was getting close when Chloe snuck up near him, he caught her grin before she snatched it! He gasped in shock after doing all the moves, but she got it fair and square when the whistle blew. He did catch it right after she threw it back before he let it go again. Now he was going for Chaser.
"Good catch, Chloe." He had to give her props. "Same, I heard it's easier from dad." His dad and her mom played together from the stories his Mum and Daddy shared. "Good luck." He wondered who would be keeping.

Soon after she threw, and missed the rings, Hanna saw Chloe and Tad join the Chaser station. "Hey," she greeted. She wanted to give throwing the Quaffle another go, because it was no use to try something once and decide she wasn't great at it. That was a cop-out. The amount of things she had to practice, and practice, which seemed like she would never get it, made it a point. Practice made you better at things, not giving up.
She flew towards the Quaffle that she threw poorly, and reached out to grab it again. It just didn't get there. She tried to put her hand over it to pull it towards her, but it slipped out of her grasp. Trying again, she reached out but couldn't quite make contact.
No point getting frustrated, Newton. She shook her head and went for it again. This time she flew TOWARDS it, and grabbed it as she flew with the goal of almost flying into it. "Woo," she cheered herself, flying up towards the hoop and throwing it.

He looked back as he flew…he had to…had to make sure Chloe had caught or at least managed to retrieve the quaffle so he was sure he continued to have a job to do. Besides he had to be ready to intercept said quaffle to make the final move. Septimus was roughly at the point he had aimed for as the ball came his way, reaching to grab it as he served slightly to be in a better position. The third year had just managed to catch it and turn to through when the whistle blew.
Maybe next time.
Though needing to drop the quaffle anyway and seeing the first year still eager to defend, Septimus gave the boy the opportunity. He aimed and threw towards the nearest hoop before taking off towards the beater section. Swooping down, the third year landed briefly to pick up a bat before heading for the air once more. He wasn’t alone with the attacking bludgers, a younger eagle there as well aiming her targets towards the hoops. Now that was an idea, he mused as one had rebounded onto the pitch. Septimus moving towards it to intercept, bat arm raised to hit it.
CRACK!
One down...more to go. The third year already zooming off towards his next target. This time he only managed to catch a small piece of it, recalculating and trying to take more control of his swing and the bludger as he tried once more to hit it towards his goal.

"Well we both know our parents and Uncle Alec made a good team, so hopefully we will too." She was getting more and more relaxed, there was something about being on her broom that brought the old Chloe spunk back. "Bet I can beat you to the quaffle." A little competition between old friends wasn't a bad thing and she was having fun with Tad.
Swooping down she went after a Quaffle that was sitting on the ground waiting for someone to snatch it and score. Clutching it with her one hand as she balanced her broom with the other Chloe headed back up into the air and started towards the goals. "Here Potter catch"

Mark's focus on the one Tryoutee coming forward toward him remained undeterred. his suspicion that he would be the one to make the shot proved correctly when the older girl passed it back to him. He really should begin to learn the other Tryoutee's names it would make the though processes much easier on him.
Right anyways.
Mark readied himself as the Quaffle was flung in his direction. Was this a swatter or a grabber? He eyed it quickly one more time and stretching as far out as his small body could take him without loosing himself off his broom, Mark caught the Quaffle with his outstretched left hand! "Ah ah! I caught it!" He was just as impressed with himself, and that little outburst was unexpected even by himself.
With the Quaffle caught and the whistle already blown. Mark uhh...Toss the Quaffle back out. Maybe one of the incoming Chasers will catch it midair. He did tell himself he would tryout for Chaser next but his interest in Seeker was peaked while he kept watching Chloe and Tad in the corned of his eye trying out there.
So he zipped on over to the seeker station and smiled at Chloe and Tad. He was impressed with Chloe's talent at seeker, but if he could be the Seeker imagine how impressed his parents would be of him. He could put into practice the same way he keeps track of where the Quaffle was at all times between the Chasers. The only issue with that strategy..well multiple issues was that the Snitch was much quicker and not passed around between players. Being able to keep an eye on the little golden ball would be a task.
He remained hovering in the same spot for a bit until he caught a glimpse of the snitch zooming right through the Chaser station that Chloe and Tad were now at. He flew on over in that direction and then stopped, he lost track of the snitch. Not wanting to be in their way he dipped a few feet below them and started his search for the snitch once more.

After smacking a handful of bludgers around, Nettie decided to head to her next station - seeker. She wasn't too keen on doing keeper, and seeker always had a special place in her heart, so why not throw her hat in to the ring? It was awfully busy. Chloe was trying out for it again - naturally - but there were other newcomers who were trying out for it as well. Juni was gonna have to make some tough decisions, that was for sure.
She spotted the first year (Mark) whose name she couldn't recall looking around for the snitch and followed his eyeline. It looked like he had lost it - but Nettie caught a glimpse of the glittering orb and ZOOM! She was OFF! She was really starting to get the hang of controlling her new Nimbus, and when she spotted the glittering snitch off to the right of her, she made a quick turn and was able to keep her eye on it, speeding up faster and faster, stretching out her arm - and then her fingers were closed around the snitch.
She grinned triumphantly, adoring the feeling of the cool metal against her palm which indicated that she was definitely successful. She smiled and released it from her grip, watching it zoom off again.

Hanna watched as Chloe threw the quaffle towards Tad. "Nice throw," she said. There was power behind it.
Hanna found another quaffle that was falling towards the ground, and caught it easier than the previous try. She wanted to try practicing catching it some more, considering that was the part she was least good at. She threw it into the air, gave it a head start, before flying towards it and reaching an arm out to grab it again. It slipped from her hands, falling towards the ground again.
No! She dove towards it, flying slightly under it, and CAUGHT it in her arm!

Ah..uh...dangit. Mark was too slow on his attempt to catch the Snitch. This Other girl had made the catch and much quicker than he could ever even hope. "Nice Catch" he said to her as she released the snitch back into play. The easy thing to do here would be to just nab the snitch the second she let it go.
That would be cheap and not in anyway an attempt at trying out for this position. Though if the Captain was watching, and he was sure she was. His try at Seeker was already taken as a lost cause. Hopefully he impressed her enough as a Keeper to take that spot.
With that thought done he should really try and get back into catching the Snitch. Where did it go?
