Default QQS Shelves & Displays

The shelves and displays are the first thing you notice as you enter in the Quality Quidditch Supplies shop. The side walls of the shop are neatly stacked with brooms and posters galore. You will find the latest brooms in stock as well as the typical family broom available. Between the side walls there are various shelves that are filled with various quidditch supplies and goods. This includes but is not limited to robes neatly arrayed on stacks, keeper gloves and on the two most outer-middle shelves, broom service kits. Lastly the back wall displays books and other reading materials, all to do with Quidditch of course.

All items are displayed with a price tagged on them. Be sure to handle with care, if you break something you must pay for it. When you are done here, go on ahead to the counter to pay for your new goods. Otherwise if you need any assistance at all please feel free to ask the shopkeeper, Brad. He will be more than glad to help you.

Ooc: Please do not RP for the shopkeeper. The Diagon Alley Rules apply at all times. If you have any questions, you can ask them in the Diagon Alley Questions thread.

There wasn't much that Henry needed when it came to Quidditch supplies. Playing for the U17 team and having played recreationally for years, he made sure he had all the equipment necessary. But that didn't mean he didn't like to go to the Quidditch shop when he was in Diagon Alley! In fact, it was still one of his favorite shops to visit.

He had a decent broom, but he did like to check out what new models they had in stock. Maybe it was even time for a new one? The fifteen year old might have to talk to his dad about that. Maybe he could he could even test fly the Moonbrusher in the back room.

This guy was definitely older than Brent was)... stopped him and asked about broom polish.

"Broom polish? Yeah, I know a little," he said, when in reality he probably knew a lot, but he didn't want to say that. What if the guy had a question he couldn't answer? Brent would just look lame then. "What's up? You have a specific question, or do you just want to know about it in general?" He pulled a bottle of Fleetwood's High-Finish Handle Polish off the shelf and showed it to the boy. "This stuff's pretty good." Brent could literally see himself getting lost in this shop for a really long time.
A little was probably a lot more than he knew. The soon to be Fifth Year nodded his quill toward the boy, ready to take down (with a fair amount of exaggeration) everything he might have had to say. "S'not really a specific question, I think I'm more looking for the best value for my galleons. Something that works, without working my pocket if you know what I mean." Blaise reached for the polish, giving the label a proper read.

"And this'll work? Really work on a broom that hasn't really left the closet in a few years?" What were his other options? Were they not nearly as good? "Is this the one you use?" Familiarity was usually the reason behind people's recommendations and decisions. It all seemed pretty legit to him.

The boy turned the polish over and over in his hand before glancing back up at his present company. "Seems legit. 'm Blaise, by the way." The last bit he added as an afterthought, having realized he didn't recognize this boy from school. A vacationer maybe?

No trip to Diagon was complete without a visit to Quality Quidditch Supplies and normally Junia would've dragged her daddy along so she could get something new out of the trip, but today was different. She'd convinced the older man to let her wander a bit on her own, her being a teenager now and all, and she felt liberated. Or, well, as liberated as someone whose dad was waiting a few shops over could feel.

Pushing past some older kids who were taking up an unreasonable amount of aisle space, the thirteen year old looked around for any new Magpies merchandise that might've come in. There was something nice about the surge of pride she felt whenever she saw her older cousin's name on something Quidditch related and someday, it'd be her name in here, too. She couldn't wait for that day. The Botros name was synonymous with greatness, there was no doubt about it.

...Now where were those Hassan Botros bobble-heads, anyway?

But Quidditch was Derek's guilty pleasure. And he wanted Adonis to see the side of him that he didn't get to see at on the farm.

Taking him through the aisles, while Jess was somewhere shopping. He showed him all the real Quidditch parts. Some Adonis reacted to since he had Quidditch toys of course.
Jessa wasn't far from the two men in her life. In fact she was only pretending to be looking at the gloves nearby. In reality, she was watching them and smiling. Adonis and Derek was so adorable together.

Since Jessa had quit acting she had become more focused on art and writing... and of course, her little family. Her PERFECT little family. With a happy sigh, she made her way over to the pair and leaned into her husband's side. "You really shouldn't push him toward quidditch so. What if he wants to be like his mummy?! What if his true calling is the stage?" she said with a flare of the dramatic.

Apparently being allowed to go to the bookstore by himself had been enough independence for today. This time his mother had walked into the Quidditch shop with him, although he kind of suspected that she was both trying to keep an eye on him AND checking out the newest broomsticks. After a while Cameron had left her in another aisle, however, and had walked off by himself. With her permission. Of course.

It was nice to be doing things by himself.

Also he could NOT listen to her telling him about her time working here for what seemed like the millionth time. So here he was. By the displays. Maybe he would get to play Quidditch some time too. Not at school, obviously. Unless they brought it back or something. But he was definitely already looking forward to flying lessons. Why were first years not allowed to have their own brooms though? That sounded so unreason-

Ooooh, those looked fun.

With a muttered "'scuse me" Cameron reached across the girl that was sort of standing in his way and lightly tapped one of the bobble-head figures' heads. He couldn't help but laugh. Seriously, imagine if that was your face. He eyed the selection of bobble-heads for a moment, trying to find one he recognized. Which wasn't TOO hard to be honest. He knew most of them. Totally.

Quality Quidditch Supplies.

She doesn't really need any Quidditch supplies. She doesn't even play Quiddicth. Sure she liked to fly around the backyard but Quidditch was not her thing. Its more her brother's. But there's nothing wrong with looking around the store, right?

As soon as she entered QQS, she's greeted by the smell of new brooms. Candice quickly towards the magazines display. She picked one up and flipped through it.

Colt was known to always stop by this store. He felt he might as well because he needed some stuff for his broom. He was planning on flying more this term on the practice pitch. He needed a new kit that is for sure. He made his way to the counter when he saw a familiar face. He turned his head and knew that face. He smirked and thought it was time to sneak up on her. He walked quietly but he didn't really need to since this place was packed. He hovered over her and saw what she was reading.

"You know if you need some quidditch tips, I can surely help.." He rested his arms on top of her head. "By the way you are a perfect height for an arm rest.." he chuckled. Man he never realized how tall he was till now. He did some growing this summer, his mom was not kidding. No wonder he needed new robes.

"You're excused," Junia responded, side-eyeing the tiny person who was now in her personal space. Normally she'd back away as younger kids were ones to wipe their noses on their sleeves and spread germs, but this one seemed interested in the same thing she was and that gave her hope that maybe he wasn't a bogey boy. Maybe.

"Which team is your favorite?" A person's team said quite a lot about them, did he know? Like whether or not they knew anything about quidditch skills. She certainly did. She was practically an expert.

Cameron HEARD the girl's response but neither knew what to say nor if he even was supposed to say anything. So he just didn't. Really, he wasn't going to THANK her for excusing him after all. That was just silly. He had just been polite. Hopefully she appreciated that. Other people usually did.

After giving the bobble-head another tap of the head (*giggle*), Cameron leaned back again, set on continuing his exploring of the shop. And maybe convincing his mum to get him one of those. They were funny! But before he got the chance to do any of that the girl was speaking to him. "Caerphilly Catapults." He replied almost instantly, smiling at her.

"Yours?"

[I hope its okay we grabbed him}

Noelle didn't venture into the Quidditch supply store except for presents mostly. And sometimes to see the new broom out. But mostly, for presents for Henry, Olly, and Noah.

Today though, was different.

Noelle had seen Henry go into the store while she was down the street. She hadn't seen Henry yet this summer and wanted to say hello. She wouldn't say she was stalking, but Noelle ventured into the shop after Henry, her eyes searching for his brown hair.

FInally, Noelle spotted him. She grinned and headed over to him. "Hey there!" She said brightly. "Are you looking at new brooms?" Noelle asked while following to where Henry was facing.

Derek was tall. 6'4 ft in fact. So, he normally either had Adonis on his shoulders, or the little fella had his arms wrapped around his neck while he pretended to be a super hero. Today, Adonis was standing at his side. Derek was leaning over a bit to hold his hand but was starting to ache.

Hearing a voice, Derek and Adonis both looked to see Jess. Derek grinned and kisses his wife's cheek while Adonis reached up for his mom. This worked for Derek because his side had begun aching from bending sideways. "Well, he can always look at it. It wont hurt him to know what his old man used to do."" Derek said with a hint of a smirk in his eyes.

Even though Esme had a good broom already, that didn't stop her from enjoying coming to the Quidditch store and admiring the newest models. It wasn't about flashiness for her, but quality; she would need to replace her current one some day and when that time came she wanted something safe and reliable.

After looking around the shop for a moment, she made a beeline towards the display area. Looked like she wasn't the only one who wanted to see what they had to offer. No surprise really seeing how popular Quidditch was. "Hey, Henry," she told the boy with a smile. "Needing a new broom or are you just curious?" If it was the former, maybe she could give him an opinion on the matter. Esme liked to be helpful when she could even if she wasn't exactly a professional Quidditch player. She WAS a good flyer, however, and that counted for a lot.

Was he really serious about his broom polish? Huh. "I'd say I'm more serious about not wasting galleons that could otherwise be spent in brilliant ways--while making sure my Dad sees how serious I am." His father wasn't exactly trying to force him into Quidditch, but he was starting to get suspicious of the way Blaise was treating the new broom he'd bought him back when he was in that Quidditch phase. Poor thing never saw the light of day.

He made a good point though. People didn't buy horrible gifts and if people kept giving this one as a gift then it was very likely it was the real deal. "Sounds like the polish for me." So he'd be keeping this one. More interestingly though....

"New guy? Reckon I picked up something like that with the accent and the Quodpot reference." Needless to say, the subject just became infinitely more intriguing to the floating quill. "Going to Hogwarts and everything? I go there, gonna be a Fifth Year when they force me back in September." Force being the operative word.

Blaise was always forced back onto the Hogwarts Express.

Henry grew lost in thought a bit, thinking about the brooms in front of him and whether or not he really could get a new one. His current broom was pretty much top of the line, even if there were better ones. But he wasn't playing at a professional level yet and wasn't exactly a greedy boy, so his current one would probably do for a little while longer.

He was snapped out of his thoughts as he heard female voices, one on each side of him. He turned to look at each of them, smiling with recognition. "Hey, Noelle... Esme.." The second name was said with the hint of a questioning tone, but he did glance at her shoes first and was pretty sure she was not her twin sister, Juno. But he wasn't always sure. "Mostly just looking today. I have a really nice broom, but there's always one better... just a bit of wishful thinking, I guess," he added with a grin. "What are you two doing here today?" He was just curious.

She was not reading. She's just flipping through a Quidditch magazine and staring at some of the male players when she felt someone was standing, more like hovering over her. She was about to slap that person with the magazine when she heard a familiar voice.

"Winchester." Rolls eyes. "Riight. And what makes you think you're better at Quidditch than me?" She's an okay Quidditch player. And did he just put his arm on top of her head? "Excuse you. I'm not an arm rest!" Candice smack his arms off her head. "When did you become this tall?" Look at him. He's a giant now. Where did that tiny kid with skateboard go?

He gave a low groan as throngs of little ones, noticeably smaller than them, bumped and bobbed their way around them. Sam didn't care for crowds. "Well, Liv will be a second year this year." But she was in Slytherin, so separate houses and all. "But Andrew's only nine, so not yet." Gosh, surely he was never so obnoxious at eleven years old.

He was quite ready to have arrived at the quidditch shop and wasted no time opening the door. Throwing a sour look or two at the first-years, he waited for Genny to go in first.
It was not a Quidditch talk period. "I don't remember, I didn't hit it though. It just happened when I moved my bat to the right. If it comes in the way of my winning the tryouts--" Yes, she called it winning. "--I'll never forgive myself." Her life would be over as they knew it, she was moving to a new hobby.

Genny chuckled at how grumpy Sam got at those little ones, he even got a few nasty looks from some of them which made her chuckle even louder. Slipping into the shop quickly, she couldn't help but comment, "You're a good stress relief, Sam." Liv and Andrew, okay. She hadn't met the one in Hogwarts yet, not face-to-face and up close. Now, she got side-tracked in her head and walked inside naturally going for the broomstick displays even though she did not need to buy one. "Wow, come look. They look so beautifully polished and sitting up there." Her eyes twinkled.

Esme turned her attention to the girl who was with Henry. She had seen her in classes and other places around the castle, but they hadn't properly talked as far as she could recall. "Hello, I am Esme." In case they had thought that she was her sister. There did tend to be a lot of confusion when most people first saw them, though those really close to them never had a problem with it; Oliver was always able to tell them apart. Apparently the other girl's name was Noelle, which Henry confirmed a moment later.

"I'm just looking too. I don't play a lot of Quidditch, but I like it and enjoy flying. I had considered trying for U17, but decided against it." There just wasn't enough time for it and she wanted to do work with Unicorn therapy like Oliver had suggested last term.

"Yours?"
The Catapults, huh? Junia considered this, gaze shifting to the bobble-heads representing the players from that particular team. "I like that Franks-Mundie guy. He's an impressive beater." She nodded, eyes falling on the younger boy beside her. "He's not as good as my cousin, though." No one was as good as Hassan. Not yet. Maybe when she was a professional Quidditch player, she'd be able to pass him, but only because he taught her his skills.

"The Magpies are my favorite! My cousin, Hassan Botros, he's the best player on that team. The other players are really good, too. Like Fuller-Thompson, he's the best keeper in the universe." The WHOLE universe. There was also the small fact that Junia thought he was incredibly dreamy. Not on the level of Prince West dreaminess-but close.

"You play any?"

Chuckle away, Genny Tate; HE wasn't going to let those first-years think that they weren't being bothersome. "I'm glad I provide you with amusement." Not that the amusement he provided lasted very long because just moments later Genny was enthralled with the broom display. He followed her over, and Sam too admired the brooms. They did look very tempting. And exceptionally clean.

His father wasn't exactly trying to force him into Quidditch, but he was starting to get suspicious of the way Blaise was treating the new broom he'd bought him back when he was in that Quidditch phase.

Well, the guy made sense. Brent had to agree that wasting money was a terrible thing to have to happen to a person. His parents weren't rich, but they weren't poor either. They were pretty much right there in the middle. He was suddenly imagining all the broomsticks and Quodpot stuff he could get instead of wasting money on all the school supplies he needed for the upcoming term. He raised an eyebrow, curious about why this guy felt the need to show his dad how serious he was. "Dad nagging you about something?" he asked. "Parents can be that way. Or they can move you halfway across the world and cause your girlfriend to dump you." He frowned, revealing that he was still sore about the move from America.

Something he'd said, though, sold the boy on this brand of polish, so he grinned and nodded. "I think you'll like it. It's a good polish, and your extra galleons should be safe," he said. He laughed when the other boy mentioned his accent and the Quodpot reference. "Yeah. I'm pretty bummed that Quodpot doesn't really seem popular here. I guess everybody's all about Quidditch. They got any good teams at Hogwarts?" Brent might try out for the house team if it turned out they had a pretty good group. No way was he joining a bunch of losers if they'd had a bad streak of luck lately. "Yeah, I'll be there. I'll be a fourth year. No idea what house I'll be in. I guess the transfers get sorted with the first years."

Again, he raised his eyebrows. "Force you back?" he asked. This dude must seriously have a bad relationship with his dad...

"There's a couple things my dad nags me about, quidditch isn't one of them. This is more like....11 year old me really really REALLY wanted a broom, he got it for me and if he finds out I never even look at it, he's likely to make me pay him back for it. Something about responsibility and understanding the value of a galleon." Which wasn't the worst thing in the world, but Blaise would rather not have to pay for a broom he seldom used so, he'd give the impression he was still smitten with it.

Even more interesting, however, was the tail end of what Brent had just said. "Ouch." Had his quill gotten that? It'd likely make for an entertaining story when embellished. "That must'a sucked. Moving alone's a pain in the butt when you have to leave your friends back in another country but your girlfriend too? Merlin, I'd be beside myself." He didn't even wanna think about moving and having Clara dump him. Sweet Circe.

He began to feel even worse for the guy when he expressed his hopes of joining a Quidditch team when school started. " 'Fraid you've run into a good bit of shoddy luck, mate. Quidditch was banned at school years ago. If you're interested in playing, you're gonna have to join a league outside of school." If he was gonna be a Fourth Year, he still had plenty of time to join an under 17.

It figured the terminology would bring in further question. Some might say 'force' was a strong word--but it was completely true and meant in the most literal sense of the word. "Force. If I could help it, I'd never go back but apparently a magical education is super important."

Henry was lucky enough to have two girls come up to him at the same time. Noelle didn't mind. She liked getting to know others. She waved her fingers at the girl. "Hi there. Her eyes went to the wall where the broom hung as she started talking brooms and Quidditch. "i heard the handling on this one is just bloody brilliant. A light touch and the broom swerves where you want it to. " Noelle states pointing to the latest model on the wall. Noah had been talking nonstop about it, so it wasn't a surprise it had rubbed off on her.

"Oh come on. I don't even hit you that hard. You big baby." She pinched his cheeks. "Unfortunately for you its the only greeting you get." And he should be grateful that she didn't greet him with a hex. Eeew. Hug. Didn't Colt know she doesn't do hug? "Get off you big goon!" She pushed him away. "And that's make you a better player than me?" Snorts. "I don't think so, Winchester." She said, folding her arms over her chest. Colt definitely had a death wish. "Well then, I need to start charging for fee. How's 1 galleons per seconds sounds" Pretty cheap, right?

She did not appreciate the sarcasm. Not one bit.

... huh? He lost her. It wouldn't be the first time Genny didn't follow Sam's stream of thoughts, mainly because he had a different way of wording or seeing things than she did, and she still hadn't decided to understand that. Decided because understanding needed time. She trusted Sam enough to agree with him even when she didn't get it. "Mhmm."

"Firebolt X-Treme," she answered quickly. "It's doing great so far, dad got it for me two years ago and he keeps it well maintained." Not anymore. Now she took care of it. "Do you want to get one?" Did he have one? He looked like he appreciated the displays as much as she did. "Oh look, new posters! Look that's Oliver! I met his son in Hogwarts," she spoke excitedly, having walked up to the Quidditch posters aisle. "I forgot his name but he was so nice and we swam in the freezing lake, it was so wild." She laughed and jumped to try and get the poster with Oliver's face on it.
