| | Office of Professor Noble As you enter Professor Noble’s office, the first thing you’ll notice is that it’s utilitarian rather than decorative. Three walls are covered in shelves, two almost groaning at the weight of books on them, and the other housing a number of obscure potions ingredients and equipment. The fourth wall only lacks shelves due to the fireplace. The mantle is sparse, save for a gold wind up clock covered with a glass dome in the centre. A bright fire burns within the grate, a small copper cauldron suspended over it with a spatula self-stirring a mysterious liquid merrily bubbling away.
Of the other furniture, the large wooden desk dominates the room, for the most part covered in various academic books and papers interspersed with a few lesson plans and piles of student work for marking. The only corner not to be covered in paperwork holds a coffee pot and two photo frames, the only evidence of Ignatius’ family. The first contains a torn and tatty picture of a young girl, Professor Noble’s step-daughter, proudly knelt down in her cricket kit, still wearing her pads, and holding her bat. The second photo is clearly much more recent, where Abigail has flourished into a beautiful young lady. A pride comes into Professor Noble’s eyes when he looks at it. It was on her suggestion that he applied for the job at Hogwarts.
While most of the furniture appears mainly functional, the chairs are the exception. Upholstered in an elaborate orange-gold fabric, with detailed carved dark wooden legs, both his own chair and the two for his guests are exquisite pieces in their own right. If Professor Noble has offered you one, do make yourself comfortable - they’re charmed to be just the right amount of cushioned. |

| Yay, Hamlet! • Cathopper • Disney Fanatic • I was normal once... Cough.
Yeah, got it.
Flynn leaned against the wall next to the office door as Jessa made her way inside to collect whatever. He crossed his arms in front of his chest as he waited, listened, schemed.... He also found himself running through some lines in his head from the play he would be in. Even though practice had not started yet, he had been memorizing his lines since he got the script. He had to be the best....
..... he WAS the best. He did outsmart Professor Noble.
He pushed away from the wall as soon as he heard that she got something opened but he also heard.........
......................
He had already taken off as soon as he heard those footsteps coming from down the corridor.
No cough occured.
No warning to Jessa.
He just ran.
Did you really think he would stick around to get in trouble?
hahaha, Gryffindor. He was a SLYTHERIN.
All for one, and none for all.

| Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite Carefully, Jessa lowered the sawed out plank of wood to the floor before shoving her hand inside to retrieve the book. The angle was a little odd and it forced her to climb fully under the desk in order really get a hold on it--but not before kicking the chair away to ensure it didn't impede any necessary escape. Bad enough when things had one exit route, there was no need to go clogging it up.
The entire time, Jessa listened out for Flynn's cough, taking the absence of it as signal enough that the coast was still clear.
Good, because there was still the matter of fixing the desk to ensure the Professor wouldn't immediately catch on. For as much as they could help it, they would need to leave the office looking as untouched as when the man had left it. Jessa took a moment to magically extend the top pocket of her shirt. In went the book, the only place she felt for sure it would be safe without making it obvious she now had it.
The prize secured, Jessa hurried to get the plank back into place, unaware of the abandoned post and the deserting Prefect--let alone the steaming Professor heading back that way. The 5th year pressed her wand to the edges where the plank reconnected with the rest of the wood, sealing it once more so it never looked as if a hole had been drilled to begin with. "Okay! Let's get out of here!" She called over her desk to who she expected to be he Co-Prefect still on guard. A speedy escape would be necessary.

| Stuck inside with Sirius | *Splish-Splash* | bamBAM | ☁ Spooktacular ☁ He heard footsteps picking up on the cobbles ahead up him, and a glance up revealed a retreating figure. One he'd be willing to bet a good amount of galleons on was a certain Flynn Kolwaski. "Like a kappa's cucumber you don't..." he muttered, pulling his wand from his robes. Without too much thought, Noble had sent a tripping jinx in the boy's direction to slow him down a bit. Oh, he was definitely in trouble for pulling that little trick.
Before he saw whether or not the spell had hit, however, his office caught his attention. He'd definitely pulled the door shut behind him, so it was curious indeed that it should now be open. And he didn't have to look too far into it to see what had been disturbed. More interesting perhaps, was that one of the culprits was still here. The chair gave her away, pushed back from the desk as it was, even before her words did.
Noble coughed pointedly as he lent against the doorway, he lips pursed together and arms folded across his chest as he waited for her to notice him. "Oh...I don't think so. Consider yourself nicked." He entered the office now, and held out his empty hand. "Book?"
That was what she'd broken and entered for, correct?

......
Oh fudge.
Jessa felt all the blood drain from her face as a cold shiver ran through her entire frame. The cough, she expected, in fact it was her cue to BOLT but then...that....that wasn't Flynn. The familiar voice that floated into the room was just about the last one she wanted to hear at a time like this. Jessa swallowed hard, realizing the game was over because he'd addressed her directly. He KNEW she was in here and drawing it out any longer would not be in her best interest.
Slowly, reluctantly, Jessa crawled out from below the table. Suddenly, quite suddenly, she remembered one of the reasons she hated anywhere with only ONE exit.
Also, where was Flynn? The Ravenclaw looked out at the outstretched hand, all the while carefully inching toward the door. Her eyes never left him, not even to take a glance at where she was heading. She'd find the door, no doubt there but she'd rather not lose sight of him while she was doing it. "I.....don't have it......" She offered, finding it harder now to ignore the walls than she had when she'd been the only one in the office. "Your drawer's locked.....some kind of magic. I tried but, it's hard." Playing on his ego a bit to be honest. Keep him thinking he'd bested her and her entire plan had been foiled.
WHY WASN'T SHE AT THE DOOR YET???

Flynn went down with flailing arms, and before he knew it, his face met the cold stone floor. A small grunt escaped his mouth. He continued to lay there as he processed what just happened.... and processed what was about to happen. He rolled himself over when he heard words being exchanged between Jessa and Professor Noble, and he sat himself up, extending his legs in front of him. His hands loosely sitting on his lap as he looked at the two.
He chose to sit there, looking like the innocent child he was, as he let Jessa take all the heat.
And yes, the idea of crawling away DID cross his mind, but he was sore from that fall.

| Stuck inside with Sirius | *Splish-Splash* | bamBAM | ☁ Spooktacular ☁ He saw her inching towards the door, the one he now shut behind him and lent against casually. If Flynn got away in the meantime, he'd deal with it later. The Slytherin was in trouble, but nowhere near as much as Jessa was. Whether or not they were in cahoots was as yet unclear, but in someways he doubted it. Flynn didn't seem the type to sacrifice himself for someone else. "Leaving so soon?" A smirk played on his lips. This was his kingdom, and she could go when he wanted her to...and not a moment before. She should have thought a bit harder about venturing in uninvited if she desired to be elsewhere.
Her words rang hollow...flattery wasn't something he had need for. A simple 'no' probably would have gone down better. "Let's see, shall we?" With that he cast a non-verbal summoning charm. If it was in the drawer...he'd see it rattle. If it was elsewhere, it should be landing in his hand aaaany second.

That the book sprang forward from the top pocket of her shirt had gone completely unnoticed. It was fast and zipped over to the man with quite a bit of force, tugging her by about half an inch before it finally cleared her pocket and was free....but she never saw it. If you asked her later how fast the book had gone or where she'd been hiding it, the Ravenclaw wouldn't have been able to tell you because all her focus was now on the closed door.
Her throat went completely dry, her hands shaking by the slightest amount. A closed off space but with a door open.......sure....she could swing it with the right amount of concentration and drive but all bets were off when the door closed.
She wasn't even looking at him. Wild, blue eyes darted all about the room confirming what she already knew. One exit. Just the one.
Jessa sucked in a deep breath, feeling a great weight begin to settle on her chest. "Openthedoorplease." Her voice was strained, barely being able to leave her mouth. Jessa fidgeted, her anxiety pushing on levels typical of such a situation. In the moment, she didn't remember she was in trouble, she didn't remember Flynn had obviously run off and left her, she could hardly get her brain to process the situation outside of the closed door. Breathe Jessa. In. Out. In. Out. IIinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Even this was becoming difficult.

| Yay, Hamlet! • Cathopper • Disney Fanatic • I was normal once... Wait.....
.... did Cranky Man close the door?
Flynn shifted his body until he could verify that, indeed, the door had been closed.
Oh.
OH-HO. This must mean he was off the hook! HECK YEAH.
He scrambled to his feet and disappeared down the corridor.
See ya on the dark side, Cambridge!

| Stuck inside with Sirius | *Splish-Splash* | bamBAM | ☁ Spooktacular ☁ Uh-huh. So he could add lying to his current list of objections to the Ravenclaw Prefect. He caught the book in his hand, and was half tempted to toss it in the fire then and there. His gaze lingered on the flames a moment or two, before ultimately deciding against it. Instead he tucked it under his arm, rubbing his chin as he considered his options.
But then the tone of her request cut through his thoughts and caught him off guard. After all her snark, she now seemed rather desperate. Blue eyes looked her over, and quickly decided that she was looking far too green around gills for his liking. If she was about to vomit, he definitely didn't need the smell lingering in his office. "OUT!" he barked, stepping away from the door. He yanked it open, muttering a curse under his breath as it caught on the uneven stone floor. Stupid thing. He had enough annoyances in this castle, without his office door being one of them. "Expect to hear from me about a detention in the near future."

| Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite If the man said anything, she didn't hear it. All around her, the natural sounds were growing more and more faint. Pretty soon the crackling of the fire did not exist. The only thing audible was the sound of her shaky breathing, the way the air struggled to find a clear passage into her lungs. All she could hear was the panic and loud shouts in her head.
The door swinging open seemed to be the only thing her brain could make any real sense of. It was the only thing it clung to.
Quick as that, like a stone pulled back then suddenly released, Jessa darted by him and out the door, smacking right into the wall that faced the door but if the collision hurt, you could never tell. Without missing a beat or pausing to ascertain if she'd been rattled the wrong way when she'd hit the concrete, the Prefect bolted.
The sound of her rapid footsteps carried through the corrider even after she'd turned onto the next, in fact, she didn't stop running until she was entirely clear of the dungeons and in the far more open space of the Entrance Hall with doors leading in all directions. Only then did she allow herself to stop and steady her breathing. Only then could she feel her levels of anxiety dialing themselves back down.
