What is your favorite Wizarding World supplementary material?
And why?

Now that the Wizarding World has expanded so much, you surely have opinions about which new supplementary material is best! Are you a Fantastic Beasts fan? Is Pottermore your jam? How about Hogwarts Mystery or some of the other, older games? There's so much in the expanded universe of our Wizarding World, so let us know your favorites here! The poll is multiple choice, so if you pick more than one option, be sure to tell us why when you post!
Rules & Guidelines for this thread:
  1. Before posting, please make sure you have read through the Newbie Process, Snitchseeker's Rules & FAQ, and perused the Site Resources forum.
  2. This is not a questions thread. If you don't understand something and/or have a real question, go to The Question Thread.
  3. This is not a discussion thread. Rather, this is a place for you to share your personal experience and relationship with the expanded universe of Rowling's wizarding world. Discussion threads await you once you have graduated Newbie status, however!
  4. Only talk about materials that are not any of the original 7 Harry Potter books, nor the original 8 films. There are separate threads for you to share your favorites of those here and here!
  5. No spam. This means no posting off topic or posting multiple times in a row.

Default The addons are important, I think.

I really enjoy the Fantasic Beasts + The Crimes of Grindelwald a lot because they are well-made and add a lot of background info to the original world of Harry Potter. Grindelwald gets fleshed out and the world before Voldemort's entrance is built and built well. I love it!

I also love The Tales of Beedle the Bard because the stories in that little thing also adds to the original Harry Potter world. I listened to it just recently and enjoyed it a lot!

I've loved fan fiction ever since 2009-2010 when I first started reading it. There are pairings in it that no one would ever even contemplate.

"I'm actually partial to the old Harry Potter video games... "

Lego HP years 1-4 is one of my favourite games for the Switch. It's just so much fun start to finish.

Post My Favorite supplementary!

Pottermore is definitley the best one, but my favourite probably doesn't even quite count as supplementary material. The Supplementary Material I most often use when I want to know how a location or person may have looked if it wasn't in the films and wasn't really addressed in the books either (the thing I most often reference from supplementary things) has got to be the Lego Harry Potter video games and official minifigures. It's a little embarrasing, actually, considering I don't actually own any of the games or minifigures, so it's often a hunt trying to find them, and how they're just barely official. but they are definitley my favorite source of reference for things that are not actually described or seen in the books or films. plus I just like all the little stylizations and simplifications they make for the minifigures, especially the newer ones that came out this and last year.

I love Pottermore there is just so much info over there. But I do miss the old days where it was an interactive website through the books. My cousin who I’ve seen once in my 20 years told be about it and it just fuelled my obsession to HP

Does anybody else remember the Harry Potter Lego game? That's my favorite supplementary material. I have memories of watching my friend play that game in my living room

The Lego Harry Potter games are great fun - we have the compilation of all seven books for PS4. I still have Sorcerer's Stone for PS1 too but that's quite clunky and dated.

The old Harry Potter games for PC and GameCube cause there's a lot of nostalgia attached to them for me.

I have been reading The Tales of Beedle the Bard, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (book) and Quidditch Through the Ages, and really enjoyed them. I have not played the games and I don't love the Fantastic Beasts movies, they're okay. But I love learning more about the history of the Wizarding World.

Fantastic beasts covers a world that the harry potter series did not explore, or hasn’t explored yet, it felt close and familiar but at the same time you are alienated and drawn into the world larger being in Hogwarts.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the movie for me. Because it almost feels like what I got used with reading only in the books came to life.

Loved the old PS games when they first came out!! My brother and I would play for hours. Always struggled with the spells 🙈

I love the fantastic beasts films too though but anything Wizarding world related just has me hooked!!!
