Chapter 18 Dinner was delicious. Cara ate her favorite foods, and soon she started to yawn. McGonagall sent the students off to bed, and soon Cara was stumbling behind Tony, fighting to stay conscience.Tony was soon carrying her, and they came to a set of stairs. The prefect leading them knocked 5 times on the 3rd step, and The first 6 steps swung upward, revealing another staircase. Tony had to put Cara down, and Cara just held onto Tony. Soon they entered a large chamber, with a roaring fire. The Ravenclaw Common Room. Cara woke up immedietly when she saw the fire. Looking around, students bumped into each other, trying to see everything at once. Cara walked over to the fire. Tony stared at the walls. "What are....you lo-lo-looking at-t, T-tony?" Cara yawned. Tony pointed. Books! Dozens and dozens of books. Spell books, potions books, whole novels just for reading, filled the huge bookshelves that hung on the walls. Cara gaped at them. One of the girls pulled Cara up. "C'mon, they're putting us to bed. You're bunking with me. I'm Mia." The tall girl said as she led Cara to the dormitories. Cara waved good-bye to Tony, who was leaving with another boy to his dorm. Cara tumbled into bed, and fell asleep right away. ****** Draco and Hermione had had a long day. Without Cara to take care of, things should have been easier. But Hermione kept worrying about her, and almost sent her owl out six times, just to check up on her. Draco didn't fret about his daughter. He knew that Cara came from good stock, and she would be fine. Hermione was so hectic that Draco hid the owl, just so she couldn't send out any frantic messages to Cara. "Draco? Have you seen our owl?" Hermione ran around their small apartment. "Ummm....did he get trapped in the oven again?" Draco rolled his eyes. He didn't want to give anything away. "Now you know that Perseus can't get caught in the oven....I put him in there last time." Hermione scowled. "Now how am I going to tell Cara that she just has to wear clean underwear?" Draco laughed. "Hermione, with you as a mother, I'm sure she won't forget. Now," He grabbed Hermione's waist. "When are you going to stop worrying and pay some attention to me?" Hermione half-struggled to get away, but Draco's grip was firm. Bending slightly, he kissed her. Hermione kissed him back, and began to unbutton his shirt.... ******* Snape waited anxiously for Pansy's owl. She hadn't spoken to him since she offered to catch Hermione. Not like it mattered now. The child had been born. But 11 years was a very long time to wait. Suddenly, and owl swooped through his window and landed on top of his head. Growling, he swiped at his head, and the owl jumped off, hooting. Snape untied the letter and unrolled it. Severus, I'm sorry I haven't written, but I couldn't face you after my failure at catching the Mudblood. I'm heading back to the hideout. Ne there in a few days. Cara is at Hogwarts now, and under the protection of McGonagall and the Order. Killing her might take some talent.Talent that only one person has. Draco Malfoy. Pansy Snape crumpled the letter up and burned it. He sat down at his kitchen table. Now what? Draco wouldn't kill his own daughter. Would he? With a little persuasion....Snape grabbed a fresh piece of parchment and a quill and scribbled furiously. Pansy, I have a plan for getting rid of this Cara person. But it is important that Draco Malfoy kills her. Since he is the only one that can, illegal actions must be made. Send me your present location, and STAY THERE. I'm coming to you. We will need your favorite person, Lucius, and whatever Death Eaters we have left. Severus Snape tied the letter to the owl, and sent it off. "Now we must wait.....now we must wait....." Chapter 19 Cara awoke in a panic. A strange bed, strange people, and where was Leper? She raced out of bed, then took a closer look around. Oh yea! She smacked herself on the head. Of Course! She was at Hogwarts. She checked her clock. 8am. Just enough time to get dressed, and meet Tony down at the Great Hall for breakfast! Cara dressed quickly and exited the dormitory. Tony was waiting. "Jeez! I was only waiting forever! What took you so long?" Cara smacked him on the arm. "You'll live, I was catching up on my beauty sleep." "Well, I think you need to go back to sleep." A voice sneered. Cara whirled around, and saw the girl that was chasing Tony on the train. Tony groaned. "Nancy, what do you want?" "Oh nothing, only to tell Cara to stay away from you!" Nancy tried to pull Tony away from Cara, but Tony resisted. "Nancy, I can hang out with whoever I want." Nancy sneered, and stomped out of the Common Room. Cara gave Tony a LOOK. "Oh yea, breakfast." Tony led the way to the Great Hall. Cara and Tony sat at one of the Ravenclaw tables. Cara piled bacon, eggs, and sausage onto her plate. Tony helped himself to some cereal, and a muffin. Tony looked at his breakfast, and Cara looked at hers. Slowly, they exchanged plates. Cara dug in, and so did Tony. "Schedules!" Professor Flitwick squeaked between tables, and stopped at Cara and Tony. "Here children, your schedules!" Tony looked at his. "Damn! We're with Syltherins at Potions, and Charms!" Cara looked at hers. "But we're with Gryffindors for Flying, and Transfiguration. And Hufflepuff with History Of Magic and Herbology!" Tony grumbled about the Slytherins, and Cara ignored him. Today was going to be fun! By the end of the day, Cara was NOT having fun. During potions, lacewing flies were constantly being thrown at her, and she had dirt tossed down her shirt in Herbology. Tony had laughed at both occations, but had defended her when she accidently charmed the dustbins to attack Nancy. Nancy had left the room screaming Haunted Dustbins, and Mommy! Cara and Tony devored dinner, and went to the Common Room to work on homework. Cara was paying attenion in Transfiguration, and helped Tony with his essay on Why You Shouldn't Transform Your Teacher. Tony just couldn't think of a reason why not to. Tony, on the other hand, had a knack for History Of Magic, and helped Cara on her essay on the werewolf rebellion of 1256. Cara crawled into bed, tired, and still gritty from the dirt, despite the shower she had taken. Jerking up, she pulled out a lacewing fly from her slippers. "TONNNYYYYY!!!!!" Chapter 20 Snape paced his house anxiuosly, waiting for a reply from Pansy. After two hours and no reply, he began to get angry. She was supposed to tell him where she was. Otherwise, how was he supposed to Apparate to her? An owl flew into the window with a CRACK. Snape fished the owl out of the dead bushes, and untied the note. Severus, I'm by an old cave near Hogwarts. The one where we used to meet when I was still at school. It's right by the Malfoy child, so it's an easy position to attack from.Eagerly awaiting you, but not Lucius, Pansy Snape crumpled the letter, and sent the owl on it's way. Apparating, he quickly was beside Pansy. She jumped, and clutched at her chest. "Severus, you scared me!" Snape smirked, and went towards the edge of the mouth of the cave. Lucius and Veronica should be arriving. Unless they were still snogging. Soon the two appeared, and the meeting began. "This is all the help you could dig up Severus?" Lucius said, smirking towards Pansy. Pansy started to growl, and her fingers twitched, eager for her wand. But Snape stood between them. "Enough. Lucius, Pansy says Cara is nearby, at Hogwarts. She says that Draco has to kill her. What do you say to that?" Lucius nodded. "Draco knows more Dark Spells than I do. I taught him everything I knew, and he learned some on his own. He must be used to destroy Cara. Otherwise..." "Yes, we all know what will happen. I'd prefer not to discuss it. Now, "Snape spoke to Veronica. "Have you done as I asked?" "Yes Severus." Veronica said and handed a folder to Snape. Snape opened it, and he smiled. He gave the folder to Pansy. Her eyes widened. Inside the folder was the whole layout of Draco and Hermione's house, their store, what kind of protection they had, and in what places. It showed most of the magic lay around windows, and doors. But most of the walls had little or no protection. Pansy smiled. This was too easy. Pansy looked up from the blueprints. "When do we begin?" "After the New Year. New Year, new times....new deaths." ****** Hermione woke up early next to Draco. She frowned. Why was she awake this early? Oh yea...She pulled herself out of bed. She was going to join Cara in her first Hogsmeade trip. Hermione took a quick shower, and blow-dried her hair. By this time, Draco was awake, and watching her pick out clothes. "Draco, is this one ok?" Hermione picked out a pair of shimmery jeans, and a light blue tank-top. She also pulled out a white pull-over. She put these on, and a pair of white sandels. Turning to Draco, she modeled them. "Beautiful." Draco said, and pulled Hermione to the bed. She layed there for a while, in his arms, and apparated to the edge of Hogwarts. Cara and Tony were lined up with the other students. First and second years could go, but only accompanied by and adult. Hermione had volunteered to go with Cara and Tony. Hermione walked into the castle, and spotted Cara right away. Cara waved, and pulled Tony over to introduce him to her mother. "Mom, this is my best friend, Tony Barbaras. Tony, this is my mother, Hermione Granger Malfoy." "Just call me Hermione, Tony." Hermione smiled, and together, they walked to Hogsmeade. That's all I can do for now, I have to get off. And maybe I can post tonight, but if now, I'm going to post tomorrow. Katie |

Chapter 21 Hermione escorted the two children past the Hogwarts gates, and together they entered Hogsmeade. Cara and Tony eyed the shops in wonder. Hermione smiled. She remembered her first trip into Hogsmeade. Cara looked up at her mother. "Mom, what are you thinking about?" Hermione smiled. "Oh, just thinking about my first Hogsmeade trip." And Hermione was off, telling about how she went with Ron, and they brought Harry home candy, because he couldn't come that day. Cara rolled hr eyes. Another stroll down Memory Lane. Tony hid his smile behind his hand. Hermione noticed, and smirked. Cara led the way into the first store she saw, which happened to be Honeydukes. Tony gasped at the wonders inside, and even Hermione gaped, having long forgotten. Cara was all over it, pulling Droobles off shelves, dragging Tony to look at the new caramel crunches, which glued your teeth together when you crunched, and Hermione got out her wallet when she saw Tony eyeing some Chocolate Frogs. Cara and Tony squealed when Hermione took out the money, and Hermione was attacked by 2 eleven year olds. "Thank you Thank you Thank you!" Cara and Tony yelled as they were walking down Hogsmeade's main street. "Well, I brought money for a reason, I'm sure." Tony wandered into the post office, and Hermione explained to him all the different owls, and their sizes. Cara begged to take one home, but Hermione reminded her of Leper. As they left, Cara stole a glance at a cute little dwarf owl. Hermione led the trio into The Three Broomsticks, and introduced the two to butterbeer. Their eyes widened at the taste, and Madam Rosmerta smiled. "On the house darlings," She said, placing three more bottles on the table. Cara and Tony said thank you, and Hermione gave Rosmerta a very good tip. Hermione looked at her watch. "We have just enough time to go to the Shrieking Shack. Does anybody want to visit?" Cara paled, but Tony was excited. "C'mon Cara! This will be fun! Think, it's the most haunted dwelling in all of Britain!" Tony couldn't believe that Cara didn't want to go. "But Tony..." Hermione cut in. "Now Cara...I know that nothing will happen. We're just going to take a look at it. We're not going inside, okay?" Cara hesitated, then nodded. Tony punched the air with his fist. "YAA!!" Hermione led the way out of the pub. Cara held onto Tony as they approached the Shrieking Shack. Tony only stayed for aminute. It was getting chilly, and Cara was scared. Tony let go of Cara, and went quietly behind her. "BOO!" Cara screamed, and started running towards the Shrieking Shack. Hermione ran after her, and Tony, white as a sheet, tried to keep up. Hermione grabbed the pair of them and Apparated. They landed right outside of Hogsmeade. Hermione turned to face Tony. "Tony...don't do that again, alright? Because if you do, I'm not chaperoning you guys anymore, and if I decide to tell your parents, they won't either, ok?" Tony nodded. "Alright then, let's get up to the castle. You guys had a big day." Chapter 22 School wizzed by for Cara and Tony. School got harder as they learned new spells, and one day, Tony noticed a bulletin on the board. "Hmmm....attention all first year students. Quiddich ages has been extended to first years. But first years must get permission from their Head of House. High grades and good flying skills are needed to try out!" Cara wandered over. "What are you talking about Tony?" "Quiddich tryouts! Cara, you should try out." "Not me! Besides, I don't even have a broom!" "Well, I have one!" They ran up to his room. In his trunk lay a relatively new Firebolt. Cara gazed in awe. "Why don't you try out Tony?" "I had a surgery on my leg, and I can't play anymore. So why don't you use it in tryouts?" "Tony! Chapter 22 continued Short post! Cara ran out onto the Quiddich field. Practice was just getting started, and there was a small group of hopeful quiddich players. Cara joined them, and Tony signed her name. Cara watched the others play, and soon she was up. "Cara Malfoy!" Tony gave her some encouragement, and Cara mounted the Firebolt. She didn't know how to ride, but the Firebolt seemed willing. She kicked off, like she had seen the others do, and she was in the air. She was trying out as a Chaser, but something kept catching her eye. After scoring several goals, she couldn't take it any longer. She flew after the object that was bugging her. It flew away. She could see it had small wings, and was a bright gold in color. Cara reached out, and caught it. She flew back down to the ground. People stared. "What?" Tony gaped, then walked over to her. "Cara...you just caught the Snitch." "Huh?" Cara looked at him, confused. "You caught the Snitch! You're a Seeker!" Cara looked at everyone. They were nodding and smiling. Then the captain of the quiddich team, Tommy Ross, came over. "What's your name?" "Cara Malfoy." "Well Cara, I think you've earned a spot on my quiddich team as a Seeker. Want to play?" Cara grinned. "Sure!" Tommy shook her hand. "Good! Practice starts tomorrow." Tommy turned to watch the rest of the tryouts. Tony and Cara walked up to the Common Room for a nap...and a shower. Cara stopped by the owlry first. Dear Mum and Dad, Hogwarts is fine so far. I've just made the Ravenclaw Quiddich team! I'm a Seeker, just like dad! I used Tony's broom, it's a Firebolt. The coach, Tommy Ross, was very impressed with me! I wish you could come to my first game! Practice is tomorrow, I'd better get some rest. Love, Cara Cara sent the letter with Leper, then walked back to the Common Room, Tonys' broom slung over her shoulder. OK Taylor and Nicole, that's the rest of chapter 22. I really don't know when I'll be on, but if I'm not, I'll be back either Sunday or Monday. Katie |
