Through the door to the right of the service desk lies the mail room; in the center of it all is a very large, very old wooden table that looks as if it once belonged in a large family's dining room. Around this are a few chairs, which look much more comfortable than the chairs at the writing desks. Scattered across the tabletop are a handful of quills, a few inkwells, and a fair amount of spare parchment and envelopes. On the farthest wall, crammed between the wall that divides this room from the Owlery and the wall of the manager's office, is what appears to be a mail rack. Across the top, labels are visible, for various cities, countries, and even continents in some cases. More often than not, handfuls of letters can be seen jammed into the boxes, waiting to be sent out.

A small refrigerator has been placed under a table in the corner closest to the door. On top of this is a coffeepot; on the wall above this, a small cabinet holds the many mugs brought in by employees from their own homes. 'If you break it, you pay for it' is the rule of thumb here; there is a stack of styrofoam cups available for those who do not wish to chance having to shell out a few sickles for broken china. Or you could always conjure your own.

First task was to put the owl away? Ethan watched with slightly widened eyes as Mangig zoomed around the room, seeming to only pick up speed as he went. Whoa.. hyper much? He gave a low chuckle as he rose from his seat. Surely it wouldn't take all three of them to lure the owl away...

The boy still had a bit of the treacle tart in his hand and thought about using it to bait him. Owl treats seemed to work well to lure owls, but he hadn't any of those on him and wasn't sure this little guy liked sweets or not. Looking over to Belle, he saw that she already had the same idea with her own owl treats. He'd have to remember to bring some in tomorrow.

He watched as the two girls worked together, making quick work of putting the owl away. Or it appeared that way for now.. He guessed he wasn't really needed for that part, but he was eager to get started on the next task. Ethan glanced over at the guy in charge to see what that would be.

The small owl was already beginning his flight around the room again when he spotted the Quincy-person with a treat and instantly swooped down towards the man.

Quincy didn't get to drink half his coffee before they'd captured the owl and then lost him again. Not surprising really, considering it was Mangig. He took one more sip then held out a treat for the small creature and headed for the owlery.

"Follow me, kids. Next task is this way." He called over his shoulder, making sure the owl was following before he entered the owlery.

"Here we are, the mail room," Vashti said as she entered, hoping the girl was following. "Pretty self-explanatory from the name. This is the place where the mail goes and where we can sort it and such." Pretty basic, though sorting mail could be a little tougher than it sounded at times, especially when they got an extra large load of it all at once. But thankfully those didn't happen too often. "We'll wait here for the others to arrive. They should all be along in a few minutes. Feel free to have a sit if you want."

Choosing a comfy chair, she plunked herself down and waited for the next group to arrive. The Slytherin assumed they would be another intern, unaware of whether or not she'd be the only one.

Following the lady, Ms Burke that was, Adelina walked towards the mail room and entered with her eyes scanning everything in interest and curiosity. Much different to what she had ever seen before.

At first she looked at the table and chairs, then her eyes scanned the coffee and lastly the actual mail. It looked rather inviting and Lina could surely see herself using this as a place to think and write down thoughts to send to another.

"Good day." She smiled warmly and nodded at the others she saw before her already inside the room.

With warm smiles to the two others Lina nodded at each of them. She then turned her attention to the woman whom spoke. "Yes, yes I am." She spoke with her predominant Finnish accent."I am Adelina, but do feel welcome to call me Lina." She introduced herself extending her hand. That was how they greeted others for the first time around here? yes? She hoped she was right.

Elisa followed the new intern into the mail room, and there saw another unfamiliar girl standing besides Vashti. She smiled at the new girl, "Hello, welcome to the owl post office. I'm Elisa Burke, one of the assistants here."

Then turning to face both of them, she said, "And this is our mail room. It is here that the letters get processed and readied for delivery by our owls."

Accepting the girl's extended hand, Vashti smiled and replied, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Lina. I'm Vashti."

She gave her coworker a smile as she entered and introduced herself as well, and then she nodded as she explained the purpose of the room. This seemed as good a time as any to properly continue their brief meeting now that she brought up the owls. Quincy and Ebenezer ought to be there too, but she was sure the interns were eager to start as soon as possible, and perhaps they were both busy at the moment. So she continued.

"Speaking of the owls, that brings us to what we'd like you to do today." She smiled. "The owls are a large part of what we do here, and we'd like to make sure you get know them and allow them to get to know you. So today, your job is to go to the owlery and spend some time with the owls. We'd like you to feed the owls these frozen mice." With a flick of her wand, two containers of frozen appeared on the table. "And we'd like you clean the owlery afterwards." Another flick and two brooms with a dustpan each, two mops, and two buckets of soapy water appeared. "The owls can be quite messy, as you'll see, and a clean owlery makes for some very happy owls." Because the owls liked to mess it up again. "Of course, all the owls are different, so be careful and kind, otherwise you might lose a finger." Well, not really lose a finger, but the owls would bite if annoyed. "I imagine you both will do fine with them though." Vashti offered another smile.

"Any questions?"

After being introduced to the brunette whom she now knew as Vashti, Lina turned her attention back onto the previous assistant with her brows perked up as she listened intently. The mail room. Just like she had thought.

Still wearing her focused expression, the button girl turned her attention back onto Vashti. A smile grew straight onto her face at the mention of any interaction with owls. This was exactly what she had hoped for. She wanted to work with the owls themselves much more over letters or packages that needed sending away.

Of course the mention of frozen mice made her smile fade slightly, but she reminded herself it was nature and it would have likely been what the owls ate even in the wild. Poor mice, it must have been a hard world for them, but then the world was a harsh one on many.

Yes. She nodded at the assistant. Kindness was always important with animals.

But as for questions no, none as of yet.Except was she allowed to head to the owlery then?

Asilin imagined herself surrounded by feathers and golden wings, stroking an owl on the head while offering it a treat. She was ready to go to the owlery and make this happen.

Only, instead of a cookie or crumb of bread; she would have to offer dead mice for a treat. To the owls, a dead mouse must be just as good as a cookie would be to Asilin. She wondered about how best to handle the mice, and decided to let whatever happens happen. She headed into the owlery without asking a question about it. She would use her hands, she would get closer to the owls that way.

No questions? Vashti smiled. "Alright, then if you're ready, go on and head into the owlery with your supplies to begin. If you need any help or think of any questions later, come find one of us. We'll be happy to help." With that, she supposed that was the end of their meeting. Off to the owlery for the interns and back to work for her and Elisa now.

The owls were particularly restless today it seemed, and Quincy was keeping a watchful eye on them while he waited for the intern to arrive. His hands rested on the only seat in the stone room that had an equally restless seven year old girl who seemed intent on spinning in the chair.

She was not helping the owls calm down, if anything she was making them worse, but he refused to leave his daughter unsupervised in his office. Again.

Too much time spent with the grandfather this one.

"Just a minute more, Mabel."

Before Terry could turn to respond to the woman, a customer came in and asked for help. He blinked, about to open his mouth. Was she talking to him? Instead the assistant manager helped and he smiled a reassuring grin. It seemed like she was nervous or something.

He was sent to the mail room and he nodded at her request, finding his way into the room where he waited for further instruction, definitely eager to get started. He took the brief time he got alone to look around the building. It was quite fascinating, getting an insight to the workings of the post office.

He noticed a man in the room and gave him a nod and a smile, hoping that he too was another member of staff.

A sudden LOUD noise caused a lot of startled owl noises from the owlery - until they suddenly came nearer.

Waful was NOT a happy owl right now. He didn't know WHAT that noise was but he was NOT pleased and he was NOT staying here now. His snowy white form whooshed right past the open mail room door with a lot of "hoooooo"ing until he was suddenly out the front door as someone unknowingly opened it in time.

Waful was out somewhere in Diagon Alley.

Valerie was heading to the mail room when the strange loud noise occurred and she caught sight of Waful escaping from the owlery and flying out into Diagon Alley. Merlin's beard! She continued quickly to the mail room, thinking this was definitely a twist in their plans for the day. Gah.

Oh and Quincy was in here. Good. "Waful's escaped," she said. You know, in case they didn't notice the hooting and noise and stuff. This hadn't happened since she'd started a month or two ago though, so she wasn't sure what to do. Go after him? Or would the owl come back on his own? Hmmm.

The familiar screech of an owl caused Terry to glance up, hoping to see where the culprit was coming from. Only he knew that this wasn't the Owlery and that owl did not sound like it wanted to stay around for long. He blinked a couple of times, trying to find its bearings, wandering whether if he was quick enough he'd be able to catch it soon enough.

Except Valerie came running in and he knew that this couldn't be good. An escaped owl in the middle of Diagon Alley during the busiest shopping season of the year. The owl would be practically impossible to find. "Should I go after it?" he suggested, knowing that at least one employee would have to stay and look after the post office. Terry wasn't trained yet, he hadn't even had the meeting. "Or does this happen all the time?" He hoped the latter was true and that the owl would come back on its own accord but the quick sharp movements that took the Waful out of the post office told him completely otherwise.

Actually, thinking about it, chasing an owl around the street might be an awfully amusing task.

Or, well, technically she was in here to wait for Quincy (and possibly new coworker if they survived the interview) but while she was here, Valerie decided to sort the mail that needed to be sent. Two birds with one stone and all. Or two owls technically. Or whatever.

Hopefully Anika would be here soon too. But for now, Val hummed softly to herself as she sorted through these letters.

Leading the way from his office, Quincy strolled through the mail room, offering a small to his assistant manager. She was relatively new as well, and nothing like Vashti, but just as qualified and good company as well. Plus she hadn't seemed to mind his daughter hanging around all summer.

"Anika, this is our new guy." He waved a hand back at the other man before waving it at a seat. "Settle down, Ozzie, and introduce yourself. I won't be but a moment." They only had one other employee missing, but they were in no rush.

As for him, he headed into the owlery.

Ozzie followed his hopefully future boss into the mail room and immediately looked around. It seemed like a place that could be calming but busy at the same time, y'know. He nodded at him and turned his gaze to the woman - Anika? He crossed the space between them and held out his hand. "Ozzie. Nice to meet you." He gave her a crooked smile.

Anika? Valerie heard the woman being addressed but hadn't heard her come in, so she turned away from the mail she was sorting to look around but only saw Quincy and a new guy. He was addressing her then?

She shrugged the brief confusion off and smiled at the new guy - Ozzie apparently - as Quincy headed off. "Good to meet you too," she replied, shaking his hand. "I'm Valerie. Welcome to the Owl Post." Assuming he'd gotten the job? If not, maybe close to getting it, since he was still here and the boss hadn't thrown him out.

Ozzie blinked a couple times and looked around. "I'm sorry… did I just make that name up?" That was weird. But maybe he just spaced out for a second? Trying not to let that shake him, he smiled at Valerie. "Nice to meet you. I'm just here for an interview, actually." Could she see how nervous he was?
