Love the choir in PoA. I know so many people hate it for being pointless/time-wasting, but I think it's such a cute little song and it only took like 30 seconds, so it's not like it took up much space that could have been used for cut book stuff.

When Harry and Hermione do a little dance in DH Part 1. Though I generally disapprove of them inventing new scenes for the films, ironically this scene in particular is among my favorites of the entire series. I love how the action slows down and we get to see them relaxing and not overwhelmed with worry as they've been up until that point. The song they picked was perfect in conveying the mood.

I need to rewatch the movies, after I re-read the books, but first:

update: Okay yes, this is indeed in the first book and I recently rewatched the first movie and it STILL gets me going.

My favorite moment is when Luna is trying to get Harry to pay attention to her and he is trying to get away. She raises her voice which she never has done before and says to Harry, "Harry Potter! You listen to me right now! "

When Neville is practicing dancing in his dorm room and his fancy shoes GAHHH so freaking adorable. GoF Neville/Matthew Lewis is what really made me fall in love with Book Neville to be quite honest!

YES I find that original movie moments are generally underrated. I enjoy and appreciate a lot of the original scenes, and I think my favourite is of Hermione modifying her parents' memories. Baby Hermione is erased from all the family photographs, one by one, and we see grown-up Hermione walking away to save the world. And then we remember that she's actually only seventeen. I can't even imagine how painful it would have been for her to decide to erase herself from her parents' memories, then put it to action. It really showed Hermione's determination and emotional strength, and got the audience to empathise with her.

Ugh. YES! Neville truly looks so happy that it makes my heart thrilled.

Another favourite of mine is Neville and Luna sitting together after the Battle of Hogwarts. I mean... CUTENESS OVERLOAD

Wasn’t that just done to make them easily distinguishable? I don’t think the film explicitly states that they’re not coed schools.

I'm sure someone has mentioned it here already, but my absolute favorite addition to the movies is the dance in the tent between Harry & Hermione. I loved the touch of calm that it provides an otherwise tense and high strung atmosphere

I also loved that! It gave them a moment to be in THAT moment, the moment where the world was falling apart outside of that tent. But in there, their friendship was intact.

I thought it was good because it was aromantic so...

When Professor McGonagall together with Mrs. Weasley casted the spell Piertotum Locomotor to protect Harry and Hogwarts. This will be forever iconic!

Chills! I got chills watching this scene. You're right, my friend: it IS an iconic scene!

I have read that movie Slughorn is more nuanced and sympathetic.
