Eeylops Owl Emporium strives to provide witches and wizards, young and old, with the necessities required to properly look after an owl, whether that be with packets of food or just a cage. Once you enter through the door you enter a world of chirping birds and rows upon rows of owls, ranging from the adorable tawny owl to the unique screech owl. Big or small, cute or ugly, quiet or obnoxious, each one would like a caring and loving home.
On either side of the rows of caged owls, adorning the walls are shelves. These shelves hold all of the things under the sun that you could ever what for your owl. Lining the first set of shelves are many jars of weird looking insects, ranging from stick insects to your plain ordinary green fly. The owls will eat any of these insects, so take your pick and buy as many as you want. Above the insect jars are an assortmert of boxes all holding different sized packets of owl pellets. These are fun-sized little bits of food that are perfect for an owl. Dotted along either side of the shop, alongside the shelves are big boxes, contain an assortment of little cuddly toys and other little trinkets that will allow you to care for your owls every need.
Toward the back of the shop, a straight line from the door, where the shopkeeper is waiting to assist you. As you reach the back you notice that, like the rest of the shop, it looks old fashioned, maybe a bit rustic, but don't criticize for the shopkeeper loves their shop just as much as anything. When you're ready to cash out, go ahead, wait in line, and you'll be ready to leave with your new owl in no time at all.

Aww, it liked the toy. "'scute owl," William mumbled, turning away from the thing and deciding that he finally needed to get his shopping done, and then go get a drink. He half-listened to the girl and nodded. "Good. Good choice." An owl would get a good home today, he supposed.
He bent down to pick up a large sack of owl pellets, half-hiding behind the big bag because of the girl's question. "What?" Was he okay? Could anyone be okay? What was okay? Did he have to answer that? He didn't say anything, just shrugged.

William just grunted and shuffled away from the girl and the owl and toward the counter. This place wasn't very big though, was it? He could obviously hear her questions still as he made his way toward the check out counter. Was this what a celebrity felt like? Being followed by fans? Or strangers?
"Did you go to Hogwarts? I used to teach there." Willy dug his wallet out of his pocket. "Owls are small potatoes. My life's work involves dragons." He nodded to the shopkeeper and put a handful of galleons down. Nothing against owls; they just weren't as grand as dragons.

Except, she knew his name? He couldn't help the look of surprise that passed on his face. "I mean, yeah, that's my-- uh, that's me." Willy blushed at the thought that SOMEONE knew his NAME and his association with DRAGONS?! It was only all he'd ever wanted: to be recognized for what he had worked for his whole life!
He set the bag of owl pellets back on the counter, but slightly to the side, to be polite. "I do take on interns, but you have to apply through MACUSA, and it's rather complicated, a whole lot of what they call red tape." Americans. Such bureaucrats. And if she hadn't had him for a professor, then she was a LOT younger than he'd even thought. "You're interested in dragons? Did you study anywhere?"

Leo still disliked going to Diagon Alley to shop for things. He was a grown man in his 50's, but crowds still bothered him even though he had a teaching background. Recently he had found that he was going bald too and that made him more on edge than usual considering his childhood bullying woes. Cassie had reassured him that he was being ridiculous and that his mop of dark silvery streaked hair was as thick as usual. Problem was that Leo didn't believe her. He was going to drag his wife along to look at hair products later, but for now they had another errand to attend to since both their children we're going to Hogwarts in autumn and they needed a new reliable owl that didn't pass out on the way to Scotland. Walking into Eeylops Leo called back over his shoulder to his wife. "What kind of owl do you want to go for this time love a screech or eagle one?"

Feeling her hand squeeze his he smiled lovingly as they headed down the first aisle to look at the first caged owls hand in hand.

It isn't very pleasant that they are all in cages all the time." Though, she assumed the owner let them out to fly at least once in a while.
Turning to face him she gave a small smile, "Maybe we can just take a look around and if we don't see anyone else that jumps out, we can get him." She gave the owl a reassuring smile already feeling like he was going to go home with them. When talk of Gemma and Hogwarts came up she wasn't sure how to answer. She got emotional about her baby going to school, she wished at that moment she still worked there just to keep an eye on her and Jackson. She would miss them both so much.
"We can get whenever you wish sweetie. I know Gemma will be excited to get her wand."

Glancing sideways at his wife Leo nodded "That sounds like a good idea. As long as he doesn't want a snake then i think a pet of his choosing would be a nice welcome home gift."Jackson had done well on his exams and Leo was very proud of him for his achievements. Cassie decided on going back to the first owl they had looked at and he didn't mind at all. "Fine, by me. I thought he looked dependable and sweet." The aura was not his area of expertise. "Sure, just not let us go when Diagon Alley is so full of people that you have to queue to get into Flourish and Blotts."

Leo was glad if he could make the shirt match with the trousers and socks and other things in the mornings.
"Thank heavens for that." Leo said exasperatedly. He was really uncomfortable in all clothing stores. It had always been that way, regardless of how helpful or nice the shopkeeper was. Back at the owl they had picked out, Leo reached up and took down the cage from the shelf as the conversation turned to their children's future pets again. "I'd prefer a cat over a puppy. Jackson might not remember to walk a puppy whereas a cat can take care of itself mostly, but it should be his choice." A pygmy puff was to him a boring and short lived creature. "I expect Gemma won't be pleased to not get a pet of her own when Jackson get's one. She'll have one of her tantrums again." Yes, Leo didn't need to be a seer to know that."A family day doesn't involve seeing their friends at the same time. They can see them on another day." Leo said firmly. "I want it to just be us four there when Gemma get's her first wand or books for school, not together with other kids."

Back at the owl they had picked out, Leo reached up and took down the cage from the shelf as the conversation turned to their children's future pets again. "I'd prefer a cat over a puppy. Jackson might not remember to walk a puppy whereas a cat can take care of itself mostly, but it should be his choice." A pygmy puff was to him a boring and short lived creature. "I expect Gemma won't be pleased to not get a pet of her own when Jackson get's one. She'll have one of her tantrums again." Yes, Leo didn't need to be a seer to know that."A family day doesn't involve seeing their friends at the same time. They can see them on another day." Leo said firmly. "I want it to just be us four there when Gemma get's her first wand or books for school, not together with other kids."
Giving him a kiss she grinned at his words. "I've had years of practice" but really they were here for an owl so her focus went back to the task at hand. Now that he had the owl Cassie headed for the counter pulling out the money to pay. It was definitely time to get home and start dinner. Jackson would be home before they knew it and then they could get the kids ready for school. She was ready for summer and would hope maybe for a vacation at some point. Maybe they could go to a beach somewhere for some family time.
Once paid she turned to her husband, "You act like Gemma is two not eleven. She hasn't had a tantrum since she was a toddler." Merlin he was being sensitive today when it came to his children, but Cassie just smiled sweetly, "Let's get going and talk about this when the kids are together. Gemma will have to deal without a pet, for now, it isn't her turn to get one, it is Jackson's. She will be fine with it or she can get over it." Parent was hard at times, but Cassie felt they were both doing a pretty good job.
This was the only shop on diagon alley that Brooklyn Quentin would not go into. Luckily for little Finny, though, she allowed him to go into the shop and check out some of the owls for a little while. So here he was, all on his own, perusing the shelves.
They never seemed to have his favorite kind of owl, the Burrowing kind, like the ones he'd seen in a movie, but that didn't stop him from coming in to check every time he came. He'd never be allowed to take one home, but just trying to give them a little pet was enough to satisfy this soft boy's soul.
Currently he was stood in front of a little owl's cage, squinting as he read the little information plate. "An Elf owl." Kind of like the Burrowing one. Smaller maybe? And just as cute.

Walking through the aisles she peered at all the name plates before pausing behind a younger kid looking at the elf owls. "You getting that little guy? He's awfully cute." And so small.

His long fingers stuck their way into the little guy's cage, hesitant and cooing at it, offering comforting words as if the little feathery guy would understand.
He was so in his element that he hadn't heard the footsteps of an approaching being. The voice startled him, a little shaking making his head bob back a bit and quickly find the source- a very pretty older girl, maybe Marnie's age or close? His ears turned slightly pink as he quickly averted his gaze.
"I um... I wish I could... but my mum's not really a fan of owls.."

Oops. Kimmie felt momentarily bad as it appeared she had startled the younger boy, she hadn't realized just how focused he was on the little owl before him. She gave a small frown when he spoke as well, realizing she probably shouldn't have asked anything about if he was getting the little owl before him. She had just assumed being in the Emporium he'd be there to buy, not just admiring the cute little animals.
Which was silly, considering she clearly didn't have a real intention to buy either yet.
"I understand that." She lowered her voice a little, glancing around for the shopkeeper as if she could get kicked out any second for just being a lookie lou, "To tell you a secret, I just come in here to say hi and fawn all over these little guys. I'm glad to see they have another friend that visits them!"

Ashley really wanted an owl. It was going to be helpful to send letters. But what kind should she get? First she should probably pick out stuff to care for her owl. She found a nice big cage, a perch, a water and food cups set, owl tonic, a beak rock, and claw clippers. She hesitated on what kind of food she should get. She supposed she needed to pick an owl first. She settled for a very majestic looking eagle owl that currently was fluffling its feathers. She did the math in her head. "That will come down to... 13 galleons and 3 knuts... I think... ummm... plus food" Now what do eagle owls eat? As far as she knew they ate everything. But she wasn't sure at all. Too bad she didn't see anybody who could help her figure it out. Why was everything so stressful for her? She really wished her dad was here right now to help her figure it out. At last she remembered that Eagle owls eat insects and small mammals. whew. She stopped freaking out. She paid and left with her VERY beautiful and cool owl.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
So this was a shop he and his parents skipped over last year. Things were still very confusing and none of them knew that Owls could be helpful in keeping in contact with each other. It was such a weird mail delivery system. You'd think there they'd have some kind of magical car system for this but...guess it's gotta be owls.
It was on Moose's request and a polite amount of begging that he have some kind of pet companion at School and since his Birthday came and went without anyone vanishing this year he was due for a good gift.
They didn't bring much money with them. Exchanging for galleons was a bit of an effort for his Muggle Parents because of the Goblins. Who were still rather unsightly for Moose himself, and rude.
So anyways... he went to the owl cages.
And there he begun to try and find a pet companion.

Lukas had managed to slip away from his parents and siblings finally. It had taken awhile since he needed new uniforms, robes and books. Shopping for five kids took a lot longer then he had thought it would.
When his parents had went to take Lily, Elias and Dahlia to get their wands, the thirteen year old had asked to go off on his own for a bit. His father had agreed, with the promise that he would meet back up with them again in an hours time.
Even though he had no real reason to step inside Eeylops he did so anyhow. He knew he wouldn't be getting an owl of his own, not anytime soon anyway. If he got one, then all of his siblings would want one. His dad would agree and be all for it... but not his mum. It didn't keep him from looking around today though.
Heading straight towards the owls he noticed a kid about his age also checking out the owls. "Hey," he greeted quietly.

Picking an Owl was actually much harder than he thought. Some seemed so disinterested in him, but the others who were watching him were so varied and unique in their own ways. This choice was important though. He stopped in front of a cage of a Barn Owl who looked older than most of the others. It didn't have a white chest like them. It's coat was a reddish brown, and it looked so angry with the way it's brow curved around it's eyes.
His attention was pulled from the Owl for the moment though. There was another kid here. "Hey" Moose said back. Was that the extent of this conversation between them? He looked around his age, did he go to Hogwarts with him last term? "You looking to get one too?" Moose said as he returned his attention to that one Barn Owl.

A break from all the commotion and his siblings had been exactly what he needed. Being here with all the owls was also helping his mood, tenfold. Being outdoors, around creatures or reading a good book usually did that for him. And today was no different.
"Not really, no," Lukas shook his head, his light brown hair falling straight into his eyes when he did. "I want one of my own but for that to happen... well then all my siblings would want one too." Which really wasn't necessary. They didn't need five owls. Why they couldn't just get one or maybe two was beyond him. Were Owls really so popular like that? They got their own store to be purchased in apart from the other Pet Shop in Diagon Alley? But, Moose had assumed it was because the Owls were equally as necessary to magical life as they would be just to be a companion or a pet?
Which hypocritically he was here to get an Owl as a Pet, but still. He would abuse the purpose of the Owls and have his deliver letters back to his parents, and them back to him. "I think it would easy to say just one Owl per Family." Moose replied back. "Unless the family is huge, but for my family it's just my parents, and my little sister is to young to write." Also it was too early to tell if she was gonna be magical like him, so would she even need one of her own too?
"Does a breed of Owl matter?" He asked. "I would assume some are faster, and stronger so they could make flights much easier." He held out his hand to show just a few galleons. "I don't have much to spend though so I was looking at one that was cheap, or second cheapest I suppose." His eyes looked back to the red-brown Barn Owl behind him.
