Occupation: Wandmaker, Beauvais Wands in Louisiana, USA
Qualifications: Alexander worked with runes in Belgium for 5 years after Hogwarts to help identify the best trees for wand wood harvesting that would yield the best results. He then worked in the Environmental Protection department, where he began to develop an interest in genetically modified magical plants. He returned to his roots in wandmaking after leaving the Ministry, moving to America to work for Beauvais Wands as an actual wandmaker. He also completed his undergraduate after moving at the WU in Salem, earning a degree in Rune Studies.

Topic: Giving Back What We Take: Harvesting Renewable Wand Trees
For centuries, there has been debate over whether or not the harvesting of trees to make magic wands has had a detrimental impact on society. As Muggles continue to make advancements in their technology to better preserve the planet, it is vital that we follow suit. Alexander Greingoth will present his research which shows that not only is it possible to develop stronger, sturdier trees through the use combined use of runes and magic, but the modification to the genome of these trees can also lead to faster growth, more oxygen output, and less damage to the surroundings when harvested. Come and learn all about the future of wandmaking and how we are working around the world to be more responsible global citizens.

Qualifications: Airey: Former Hogwarts Astronomy professor, currently employee in the Department of Mysteries. Paul: Current Herbology professor at Hogwarts, previously professor at various universities as well as private greenhouse owner.

Terraforming may be the way of the future. Based on a class field trip from the spring of 2089, Paul Myers and Airey Flamsteed will talk about how terraforming damaged land (from pollution) was originally meant to help turn the land in healthy, nutrient-rich land that could grow plants and be an ecosystem once more. They will reflect on and show the affects of the said field trip four years later. How is the land fairing? Is there a recovered ecosystem? Is this the way to counteract muggle and magical pollution?

Qualifications: Kanani undertook extensive study on site in Hawaii and various other island nations over several years, learning of ways the magical population dealt with water rationing and purification and devising ways to streamline those processes and bring them to the wider Wizarding population

Drawing on her experiences and observations as a traveler around various island nations in the Pacific, Kanani's presentation features a review of various tools and spells that she witnessed local people using, and her own experiments regarding how those skills could be utilized elsewhere in the Wizarding world in the event of a water crisis due to dark magic or environmental factors.
