Centaur Liaison Office

Just past the work area in DMC there's a door that usually stays shut for one reason or another. But if by some chance you've managed to push through the door that might as well be part of the wall, you'll find yourself in the Centaur Liaison Office. Or what is left of it really..

What was it you ask? Back in the early days of the department it was used in the event a Centaur needed help from the Ministry. But as Centaurs didn't want or need help from Wizards it went unused and even became a joke in the days of Newt Scamander. "being sent to the Centaur Liaison Office" was code for getting fired.

But now it's just a dusty old room that you could hide in if you really wanted to deal with, y'know all the dust.

Theophilus was definitely not the most hygienic of males and when he needed to scratch...he often did. But TODAY... he had ran begrudgingly jogged to the empty office in the department to scratch the bottom of his back.

Oooooooooooh.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Wooooooowwwwwwwweeeeeeeee this was gOOOOD.

Weren't good scratchings just FANTASTIC?! And yes.. he noticed the small rounded nub on his lower back.. but he WAS prone to allergic reactions to the tags in his clothes and this particular pair of trousers had an aggravating label in them. Very scratchy.

"Ahhhhhh. Refreshing." Maybe he could scratch his toes next.

Anyone? :)

Albert found this peculiar albeit boring room by accident a few months ago, and today, he'd decided to peruse the room and thought about building a haven of knowledge in there. For years now, he'd observed that the people in his department were really laughable, and it was his deep desire to change that. Though a library sounded boring, he believed that it was the only way to make the department competent and dependable. If he was going to be honest about all of this, he was indeed frustrated with the fact that a lot can be improved in their department, and he'd seen little to no effort at all towards good development.

The Enforcement Division Head wore an annoyed expression, as he fished out a clean and pressed white handkerchief and held it against his mouth and nose. A swift wave of his wand arm, in an effort to vanish the heavy dust. A second wave was done to clean out the rest that was left behind. Considering the air was safe to breathe in, Albert tucked his handkerchief away and conjured a nice and comfy armchair from his wand and placed it in the corner of the room. He walked towards it, sat, and continued to observe the room. Yes. It was perfect for a secret library, but he knew there was no such thing as a secret in the halls of the Ministry. Also, there were nosy and annoying employees here and there whom he expected to barge in any minute.

Sighing, he pulled out an old book from his personal library back home about dark creatures, sat back, crossed his legs and began to read. With the silence and solitude, Albert was quick to shut the rest of the world and was instantly swept away by the words he read.

Sophie was still very much trapped in the form of a polar bear. The break from the ministry had been awful. She had had to hide away from her family and friends feigning a very contagious and deadly illness. Sophie knew that her neighbors talked, but she couldn't do much about it in her current state.

When the ministry reopened it's door after the holiday's she had managed to get back inside with the use of a lot of luck and careful manuvering. On the creatures level Sophie had hid until she found someone that could help her. Seeing Albert enter the centaur offices alone she decided to take a chance.

She waited for several minutes and then she walked into the centaur offices and gave off a loud "GROOOOWL!" That'd get Albert's attention right?

Albert was in his element as he refreshed his knowledge about Obscurials. People thought Newt Scamander was a fool for his fascination with all things beast, but the Creatures man himself was impressed with the man's accomplishment. Mister Scamander was really destined to be one of the greatest of them all.

The man thumbed the next pages and sunk in lower in his seat as he continued to read his book. Since he was the kind of man who valued his solitude, the somewhat dull footfalls were heard outside, and Albert's ears perked at the sound of the slightest disturbance. It was expected of him to be annoyed, but with the growl that filled the empty room made him stand up, wand at the ready.

Just...what exactly in the seven hells of Hades was a polar bear doing inside the Ministry? They do not belong in the city and was definitely a bizarre sight to see inside a wizarding office. Albert kept his stance, and quickly scanned the area. Where was security when you needed them? He could easily disapparate to safety however...but something was clearly amiss.

There was, however, something familiar in those eyes.

'That got your attention!' Sophie noted with satisfaction as she eyed Albert that now stood up with wand in hand, ready to attack her if needed. Taking several steps forward she tried to figure out how she was supposed to get Albert to understand that she was the polar bear and needed help rather than being attacked..

Moving her polar bear around, scanning off the area noting all the dust which probably looked weird to Albert. But she didn't care. It was the least of her issues right now. Maybe she could write a message in the dust with her oversized paws? Turning to the largest dust pile she used her paws with great difficulty to write on the floor.

It was very odd to see a bear walk like how humans do. Trained to observe creatures all his life, he knew something was wrong but that didn't stop the man from taking a step back when the polar bear advanced. As much as he didn't want to hurt a creature, he was more than ready to blast it should it even dare touch his expensive suit.

All thoughts of attack ceased as soon as he figured what the polar bear was trying to do. He was more than sure that creatures like the one present in the room does not have the ability to write. Heck, even monkeys don't. With his wand still pointed at the creature, Albert quirked an eyebrow as he slowly read the message.

...

Oh, dear.

"What...have you done?" Albert asked lacing his words with accusation and mockery. "Dear Merlin. Aren't you too old to be in a situation...such as yours?" No, really. What did they do when they were not working? And where was the obnoxiously loud Theophilus? Did he turn into a bear too? Albert closed his eyes and let out a sigh of frustration. Why...WHY must he be caught in such a predicament every.single.time. The man could feel his head lose more hair by the second as he opened his eyes and stared back at Sophie, clearly annoyed. The Creatures man gave up as he dropped his wand arm to his side and sat back down on his conjured armchair in deep thought. "What should I do with you then, Miss Connolly? I'm afraid I do not have the solution for your..." he said pointing his wand at her from head to toe. "Problem."

Or maybe he does...?
