Do you have a burning question you want to ask one of our expert delegates during their panel? Submit it here! Simply come up to the podium, write out your question and drop it in the box! We cannot guarantee that all questions will get to be answered due to time restraints, but we appreciate each and every witch and wizard's opinion!

OOC: To submit your question, simply RP your character walking up to the podium and writing out their question before submitting it to the box! We ask that to try and get as many questions answered as possible that you submit only ONE question. Please do not use this thread for RPs - we have plenty more threads for you to play in after you submit your question!
Submissions for questions will close on Monday, September 15th @ 7 PM EST.

Emmalee walked up to the question box, trying to determine how to word her question. Each way she phrased it in her head it was more of a statement.

Having traveled in her previous job, she'd had the opportunity to try a carpet and the more she thought about the restriction in Britain, the more she couldn't understand.

Picking up a quill, she began to write:

Quote:
How is the ban justified on the basis of claiming that using a flying carpet tampers with the historical significance of a muggle item when we use enchanted brooms? I don't recall brooms being exclusively an item to be found in the wizarding world. Isn't the rich history of wizard usage of carpets, especially in other parts of the world, also worth of consideration? Carpets are just as much OURS as they are THEIRS, just like brooms, cauldrons, fireplaces and chocolate.

If there are other legitimate reasons for the ban, let us hear them. But it seems that claiming to respect muggle heritage is a soft excuse that doesn't pass muster.
Emmalee put the final period on her "question" and with a smug nod, dropped it in the box.

Maybe someone here could take her for a spin? Eh? Show her the world? She didn’t know – what question to ask about the caprets…she knew she had to write one because well, it was her department right? It’d be good to ask the experts a thing or two since she was more of a broom girl than a carpet rider.

Quote:
Is the ban on flying carpets at all related to the fact that there is lore about magic carpets in muggle mythology? What with the Arabian Nights stories? Or is the ban a form of propaganda started when brooms were being advertised as the “it” transportation method for Witches and Wizards?

Just a curious person here, so you know.

she didn’t really know how people would answer those questions. STILL Kyle glanced around at the attendees and couldn’t help but smile. Some of her department was here!
