| | Ministry of Magic Beneath the heart of London lies the wizarding government. Access to the Ministry is a fireplace, toilet, or telephone box away. |

| | | Lifts to Access Other Levels The Atrium lifts are constantly in motion as they are the only lifts that are used by every member, even on the slowest of days you'll be hard pressed to find an empty lift. These lifts will take you to any level in the Ministry with the exception of level ten. You'll have to hop off the lifts and take the stairs to reach the courtrooms. Keep in mind that the lifts move diagonally, horizontally, and a few other directions as well as vertically, so you'll need to hang on when riding.
With no benches in the vicinity, there are more wizards and witches than usual propped up against the walls and standing around waiting for a lift, along with extra prattle. Be careful when stepping on (or off) the lifts, and make sure to press the button that leads to your destined level, else you'll find yourself heading to the wrong department.

| Gunnar 'ole buddy 'ole pal Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite It was an early end of the day, early enough most were likely just heading to another level to continue working. Not him. This was it for him. The thing with part time was, he no longer really felt like he worked here. No sooner had he gotten here, it was always time to leave and save for the aurors and hit wizards who came and left, he seemed to always be the only one leaving at this hour. It created the sort of gap he couldn't readily ignore and the streets of London, empty as they tended to be this time of day only made it more apparent.
With a heavy sigh, Kodee entered the empty lift that opened for him. Back to that place, the organised activities, the people milling around because there was nowhere else to be.
Always such a joy.
He supposed the alternative was no better, under the circumstances, but it didn't make him any happier about the whole thing.

He supposed the alternative was no better, under the circumstances, but it didn't make him any happier about the whole thing. "Hold the door!" Gunnar called out just behind someone entering the lift as he advanced to enter it himself. He'd prefer not to wait for the next lift as it felt like he was always busy with some task or another while at the Ministry, though it felt more like grunt work right now. But he supposed that was because he was just starting out here, even though he was educated and not here straight out of Hogwarts like several in his department. He couldn't say he didn't enjoy his job though, and he was sure it was only a matter of time that he'd move up the ladder. "Oh, hey, Kodee," he shot his friend a small smile upon realizing it was him who he was behind when he entered the lift, pleasantly surprised to share the ride with him. "Headed out for the day?" Not that he couldn't have business on a different level and he very well may have, but being privy to other information, his assumption was more likely.

Not that he couldn't have business on a different level and he very well may have, but being privy to other information, his assumption was more likely. It was weird, being both thrilled to see someone and yet, feeling a terrible dread in the pit of his stomach. That seemed the only thing that greeted him every time he ran into his friends anymore. They knew, he was sure they did. One way or another his friends were aware his life was in a near constant free fall he was having issues coming back from. By comparison, most of them had already begun getting their lives in order and knew what they were about. It made it...difficult to know where he fit in the grander scheme of things.
He managed a smile, it more being the sheer happiness of seeing his friend, something the apprehension could not completely remove. "I...yeah. Already wrapped up for the day so heading back..." He didn't think he needed to say where. In his mind, Gunnar already knew and beyond that, Kodee didn't think he could bring himself to say it. "What about you? Got anything exciting happening over at creatures today? New break outs--did they ever find those dragons? Wish I'd get assignments like that. Beats the hell out of paperwork any day of the week." As it turned out, his mood was not enough to prevent the rambling he tended to fall into. A good sign? He was still waiting to see.

Gunnar did know quite a bit about what was going on in Kodee's life, but he also knew he was making progress towards getting his life back on track and that was important. He might not have agreed with many of his past choices, but he was trying to be a supportive friend now. "Ah, right, okay," he nodded, figuring he did know where Kodee was headed next if he was done for the day. He didn't find it necessary to elaborate or ask more about it. "Have a good rest of your day then." "Eh.. not really," he shrugged when the conversation turned to his own level. "I mean, it's cool and all, but a lot of my work right now seems to be errand running. Maybe it's because I'm new." He would hope. He didn't like the thought of his education being a waste. Hopefully it would get more exciting or feel more purposeful. "I didn't get to help with the dragons, but that seems to be taken care of now." That would have been an assignment he was sure he would have enjoyed.

That would have been an assignment he was sure he would have enjoyed. There was very little chance he would enjoy the rest of his day. It would be slow, he would be forced into activities he'd rather claw his eyes out than sit through, there would be too many people he didn't care about surrounding him and he wouldn't have the space or the ability to get himself going the way he would've liked. "Maybe it is because you're new. What's the official title you've got over there again?" He was sure he'd been told, or sure it had come up but he was drawing a blank in the moment. "My job's nothing but errand running. Coffee runs, calendar planning, meetings, note taking." It wasn't at all a fit for someone who tended to jump right out of his skin when he was made to sit still for too long but there it was. "But it's nice having my mates around. Leaving school...everything felt scattered and everyone was going their own way but now we're back together mostly." Al, he could see after work--not anytime soon but for the sake of his own health, that was probably for the best.
Honestly, his friends being there was the only reason he kept the job--that and it provided much needed structure he'd lost when he left Hogwarts.
There was a moment of hesitation as he questioned whether to ask, but in the end, he needed to know. "You haven't...you haven't heard anything from Mackenzie, have you?" The day she'd yelled at him was the last he'd heard from her. Reaching out hadn't done him any good, there was never a response. He just wanted to know she was okay.
