It would definitely make a great topic for mother-daughter bonding. "Oh, I don't think they'd mind. I guess they've gotten really used to meeting young Quidditch fans for years. I'll let them know about your nephew, then I'll send you a note?" It had been more than a decade since they graduated, and Elise and Cle got scouted by their teams. Kat was sure they've dealt with far more than just young kids trying to get their autographs and photos taken. Spending time with a nine-year-old wasn't anywhere near the press trying to poke their noses into their private lives.
And Kat really liked it when people complimented her. Lucas received yet another smile from the blonde. He seemed really nice, so it didn't bother her that he spoke so nicely of her. "I like the sound of the bat when it connects with the Bludger. Like... thwack!" Music to her ears, Kat had to admit. She deeply missed her Quidditch days, and so Lucas' offer caught her attention the most. "I'll keep that offer in mind," the blonde said with a wink. Which was mostly a yes, because why would she let that opportunity go? Kat was really considering it. Thanks, Lucas.
Lucas grinned again. If Kat attracted the Quidditch types, then it could be said that it was no surprise that they met; if you believed in that sort of stuff. He didn't but he certainly glad to have met her. Why did he feel as though he'd made a new friend? "I know the feeling,'' the man agreed with a nod. "It's an absolute joy to teach the younger ones about the proper way to grip a broomstick or what the four balls do.'' Among the other basic things. "Great! This sounds like a plan. Thank you, Katrina!''
She had him laughing. "And I like the soaring feeling and the adrenaline rushing through me when I get the Quaffle past the Keeper.'' Really, Kat was funny. Lucas winked back. "Today's not that day though. I need to be getting back or Mariel might kill me for taking too much time.'' He stood. "It was a pleasure speaking to you. I hope we can speak again soon.''

It wasn't rare to meet fellow Quidditch fans once in a while. There were a lot of them during her university days, when she was both a student and an assistant to her professor there. However, what made this meeting between her and Lucas rare was how they instantly connected because of Quidditch. Like a bat and a bludger colliding. "Oh, it won't surprise me if my daughter learns about Quidditch before actual lessons in school." Cassidy didn't start primary school until she turned around six or seven, so this was likely to happen. "Expect a note from me within the next few weeks." That depended on how busy she was going to be with both work here at the Ministry and mama-wifey duties at home. Busy as a bee, Kat was.
Quidditch, what a lovely sport to discuss about. But apparently, it all had to end. Kat had gotten so carried away that she didn't realise the minutes go by. She remembered she still needed a few things to handle back at the office. "I'm sure we'll cross paths again," the blonde replied. Though the Ministry was huge, there was always that probability they'd meet after today. Besides, now that she knew which department he worked in, it would be easier to send notes to Lucas. "Until we meet again." She opted to stay for a while, and maybe grab a quick snack before heading back to her level.

There were certain things that Gabby needed to get done, and she had gotten tired of being in the office. That, and it was technically lunch time so she had no real reason to be at her desk. And yet here she was being productive and getting some of her dreaded paperwork done. Lynley had better love her.
Of course she did. Who wouldn't?
Plodding away, she would occasionally eat a carrot stick. Look at her eating healthy like always.

Not that she never saw them or anything, but they DID go to bed early because they were very young still.

And in her brain that was enough to make the case logical to anyone and everyone else. Then again she had no idea what Lynley would do. As much as she loved her boss, the woman could definitely be an odd case. Still, she was wonderful. Maybe the oddness was part of the appeal in some strange way... Musing over that, she took a bite of her carrot.
Non-stop paperwork was Gabby's definition of hell. It was the only thing keeping her back from wanting to be a Department Head. Okay, she would like to be in charge, but still... The paper work. Her experience of heading Level Six for a time two or so years back had taught her just how much paper work there was. It was horrific. "Just how bad it went when you headed over to the school. How no one wanted to cooperate with you." From what she had heard, there was a bit of an uproar in the way that the children had been addressed, but since she hadn't been there, she had no real idea of what had happened. "I guess we will never really know what that thing was..." At least it was gone now. That was a relief because she sure as heck wouldn't be sending her daughters to a school with a monster lurking about. Nod. What Addi said made sense. "Well, I'm sure that this will benefit everyone in some way. Maybe I can get an intern to fetch me coffee..." That was the dream.

Her niece had attended that school and her own son was now there... her only intentions that day had been 'how to help get rid of the monster'. Addison laughed softly at Gabby's comment. It took a moment of thought but Addi was sure she recalled her brother having said something about this some time ago. She nodded. "I believe Evan mentioned this to me a year or so ago?" Sorry if the timing was wrong but having to very young children now and all the work she did it wasn't any surprise that she mixed things up at times. Interesting was one way to put being a department head. "There's no doubt in my mind that it was," she laughed picking up her drink to have another sip.
"Exactly, thank you. This is what we couldn't quite understand either." See they weren't the only ones that couldn't figure this out. "What's done is done though, there's no going back." Addison ate a bit more of her salad before answering Gabby's question. "Sadly, we didn't find out all that much. It was enough to make a guess but nothing that was very helpful. Thankfully they managed to solve their own problem." Addi nodded laughing once more. "It's bound to be interesting at least."

Nod. That was about right, and Gabby wasn't surprised that he had mentioned it to Addi seeing as they were siblings. "Yes, and there was one memorable day where Valeria was at work with me and wandered off into Lynley's office. Of course that was the day that she came in with her son." At the time things had been nerve wracking what with her and Archer frantically searching for their daughter, but now she could look back at the mess and drool all throughout Lynley's office and laugh. It was amazing what little kids could do when they were left alone for one second. Never EVER happened after that, however! "I rather enjoyed it, I must say. Then again I AM an ambitious Slytherin." Nothing wrong with that.
There was no end to the weird things that happened at Hogwarts, and it was ridiculous that they would act that way towards the people that had been called in to help the situation. "Well, I am sure that you acted in the exact same way that I would have in your shoes." Knowing Addi, she had done everything in her powers to get things sorted properly while also running damage control. "Those poor children though... I can only imagine how it would be if something like that happened to one of my girls..." It was too much for her to think about! Gabby thought it was a shame that no real knowledge came out of the whole ordeal, but at least it was sorted. "So long as nothing like that happens HERE, we should be all good." Now that was a terrible thought and one that she didn't want to dwell on. "Oh, indeed! Though I'm hoping there aren't any big mess ups in my department." Anything was possible with teenagers and young adults.

It wasn't at all uncommon for Addison to get together with her brother and his family, the children playing and the adults talking. With so many babies between them now and her family growing larger and larger there was always something to catch-up on. "Oh, dear. That had to be interesting but no doubt funny. How did Lynley take it?" She knew the women wasn't very child friendly but perhaps having her own little boy now helped her with that in some ways? "Being a department head most definitely has its perks but just like with anything else in life it does have its drawbacks as well." The blonde laughed softly. "So was Evan back in the day. Very much a Slytherin, he was."
"I did what I had felt best at the time." Whether or not those involved believed that. "There's always something taking place there but this was a whole new level of scary. I'm doing what I can to stay in the know-how there now as my own son attends the school." If anything bad every happened to Koen she would never forgive herself for allowing him to go there even if it was where she had wanted him to. Here?! "That would be terrible BUT in the event that something like that took place here at least we are adults and I'm sure the situation would be taken care of very quickly." With all the different levels here and departments that would be a ton of people working to correct the problem. "Same. Things could go wrong very quickly." Even with adults so factoring in teenagers was hard to handle.

Yes, Addi certainly HAD done what she thought was best and it wasn't her fault if the Hogwarts staff impeded their investigation; the only thing that Gabby couldn't fault them on was trying to protect the traumatized children; again her mind had flashed to Valeria and Liana. "I am sure that a lot of people would have done things exactly the same way that you did. There is only so much a person could do with a lack of cooperation. And it's not your fault that they asked for help as late as they did." Seriously. There was ALWAYS stuff going on at that school. "It's starting to make me wonder if Hogwarts is a good option for my girls. I might have to talk to Archer and see about enrolling them in Beauxbatons instead." Heh. Gabby supposed that an outsider might find Lynley's hatred of Archer. Honestly if she wasn't personally involved in things, she probably would too. But as it was the whole matter could be rather frustrating. Just didn't really seem to be a way around it, so the two didn't interact much if they could help it. "Well, at least there are personal assistants to make things easier." Not that she couldn't handle things on her own or anything, it just was a good point. Personal assistants got a lot of the more boring and menial things done while the Department Head kept things running smoothly. Yes, that was true. Gabby was right like ALWAYS and smirked at the thought. It always made it better when people agreed with her, and it did tend to happen at least somewhat unless that twit Connor was involved. Just thinking about him made her angry, so she ate a carrot stick and glanced at her paperwork again. "Sometimes I get overwhelmed with the boring stuff." As in she felt like she was drowning in paperwork. Oh well, it was a part of life. And she realised that she had missed a question that Addi had asked her in all her other thoughts. "Oh yeah, he pretty well admitted it to me. Which was a bit surprising seeing how he is now." She guessed that it just went to show how people could change over time. That would go over really well... not. But then maybe they had some measures put in place to keep him out. Gabby had no idea as she had never stepped foot in that area of the Ministry and never asked any questions about it either; as far as she was concerned it could all remain top secret because it had no impact on her or her family. "Oh good! Didn't he want to go to Durmstrang at one point?" Or was she remembering wrong? It might have been another kid. Sometimes it was hard to keep track of this stuff.

I think graduating and doing that little bit of traveling that he did and then taking on the responsibility of raising Hadleigh really helped him grow up and change for the better." Nothing like raising children to make you see things differently.

"That would be a true disaster for all involved. There's so much that could go horribly wrong even in the best trained hands SO in Peeves hands there would be nothing short of utter chaos." There was some serious charm work in play to keep those that didn't belong outside of the Mysteries department but things did happen. "He did. He went for his first year and then decided he wanted to see what Hogwarts was truly like and transferred. So far he's remaining there but I wouldn't be surprised if he told me he wanted to return to Durmstrang sometime in the future." How was it her oldest baby boy was already going into his third term of school...she was the mother of a teenager really soon.

She was HUGE on going different places even though she didn't do it very often anymore now that there were two small children in the picture. "Being a parent makes everything so different. It's wonderful, but also a bit hard to believe sometimes. I never thought that there would come a day when I was a mother." Well, there had been that incident a while back, but of course that hadn't amounted to anything... Not that Addi needed to hear about it or anything. Wasn't even a big deal.

Plus it keeps things more interesting, because otherwise things can be plain BORING." A life of travel had always been something that she enjoyed, and while she couldn't do it as much now that she had children, she DID still got to do things with her family and more would happen when they were older. "Oh, really? I have to say that I never wanted kids either. I disliked children until I became a mother." Even now she wasn't very fond of them beyond her children and a few others. A lot of them, however... yeah, she wasn't crazy about them.
That comment got a laugh. "I think you're right. And of course, it definitely is up to him what he wants to do." Gabby felt the exact same way when it came to her children and where they wanted to attend school when that time came.
