When he fixed his eyes on her, she suddenly turned her gaze to the machine. His eyes are so,... different! She watched as the form was heading to the cabinet. And then he spoke. Gabriel. Hm, nice. She faced him again, looking straight into his eyes. "You've got a nice name, Sir." she smiled, "It would be my pleasure to meet you." and waited for him speak.

"If you'd like to come around here --- have you done any wand weighing before, Miss Adams?" Because Gabe could easily show her how the machine worked. It wouldn't take long.

Sir is a bit formal for me, and I'm not your boss anyway. But thank you." Relaxing on the chair, he tried to make himself seem less intimidating. The woman seemed to be a little unnerved when he looked at her.

"I suppose I need to direct you to the MLE," he chuckled. "If you take the lifts it's level two, but we also have direct access floo's if you wish for less crowded transport." Dirtier, but less crowded. "If you need to speak with Evander Bole, his office is through reception and down the corridor, or through your main office and down the corridor - depending on how you choose to get there." She could remember that, right?

That sounded simple. "I take the last one, it's pretty clean!" Julia grinned and then said, "Thanks Gabriel, I hope we meet again soon!" she continued sincerely, "It was very nice talking to you." Pleasant actually.

"Much better," he said, giving her a pleasant grin. Much more relaxed, and thankfully she didn't look as intimidated now. Gabe only liked people to feel that way when he was arresting them. Heh. And he didn't blame her for choosing the cleaner option. "Same to you, Miss Smith. And I'm sure we will, considering we share the same level." Folding his fingers together he gave her a nod. "Have a good day."

"Wonderful." Gabriel smiled at the new recruit and took back the card he had previously given her. Taking a fresh card, he placed it on the desk in front of her and put the quill on top. "I'll stand back and let you take the next person that comes along then. If you need any help with it I'll just be over here.," he gestured to the alcove in the wall.

Daisy approached the wand-weighing center, looking wide awake despite the early hour - she had already been up for a few hours caring for her window boxes and indoor herb garden - but not all that pleased. Wand-weighing was certainly not her favorite part of the day, but she understood the necessity.

"Hello there," she said as pleasantly as she could and setting her bag down on the floor against her leg. She drew her wand, as pale and thin as the day she had gotten it, from the folds of her robe. The woman behind the counter was not someone she recognized. "Are you new here?" Daisy asked while holding out her wand, her grip somewhat tighter than required. Handing over her wand to someone else hardly ever gave Daisy a good feeling, even though she did it every morning.

"My name is Daisy Fields, and I'm a Junior Botanist in the Experimental Breeders Division of Environmental Projection. I'm heading in for another day of work." Boy, that was a mouthful. Daisy couldn't wait to get out of this marble-and-stone-enveloped atrium and into a greenhouse full of plants - alive and happy, sometimes dangerous and always beautiful.

Wesley stepped up to the security checkpoint and offered up his wand. He was familiar with this procedure. It was his department running this after all, right?

"13 and 3/4 inches with a phoenix tail feather core. Stiff quality."

Right. So this was the first stop, was it not? Desi had no idea why there were so many people milling about in the Atrium when it was perfectly clear if you followed the signs or had half a brain.

He hoped that most of the people hired to the Ministry of Magic was capable of the first and were in possession of at least the second.

He stopped at the checkpoint and waited for his turn, his inflexible 12 and a half inch Wenge wand, with its Ramora Scale core at the ready.

"Desiderius Alberda, Head Oceanologist, Department of Environmental Regulation and Protection."

So yes, he'd be out and about more often than he was here, but still, best to register his wand, right?

Sapphira raised her eyebrows and blinked twice. Ramora scales must be expensive.
"That's uncommon. Surely you didn't get it in Ollivander's, did you?" She smiled.
She put in the details mentioned by him on the card.
"So, the core's Ramora Scales, length 12.5 inches, the wood?" she asked for the second time.

Kyle walked past the Welcome Witch and Wizard and smiled wide. She saw an upcoming booth and gulped. What was this? She approached it, ready for what was next. It was all apart of new job and workplace experience!

After taking a deep breath, she walked to a woman holding the wand of the person in front of her. Oh! Wand-weigher? She pulled out her own wand from the leather satchel and patiently waited her turn.
