Hospital Wing https://s26.postimg.cc/5c6362v2x/hos...ing-banner.jpg The cleanest room in the entire castle is, for more than obvious reasons, the hospital wing. Considering this is a magical school and accidents happen, it is not uncommon to see students and even staff being sent or brought here throughout the school year. Rest assured that no matter what mishap or injury you have, the school healer will have you fixed up and back to normal in no time ... depending on the severity, of course. |
Aboli, as soon as she thought about what NO OWLS meant, was determinded to come talk to Recard before even approaching Rosier. She...had a feeling he didn't like her considering his treatment of her, as Trent, last year. "Healer Recard?" she asked, ducking her head in, searching for her head of house. "I need to speak with you about my future...if you're here!" she called out, noting all the purple. Aboli, in her three years here, had never been to the Hospital Wing with an injury. She had been here briefly to meet with Recard, but she was adverse to the AMOUNT of purple. Gold. There needed to be some gold somewhere in here. |
Gabriela was looking over her lesson plans in her office - trying to weed out any possible controversial material - when she heard Aboli calling out for her. She had wondered if the former prefect would be making her way to her office during the term...even though she was sure it was painfully obvious she would have no say in changing the matter. She stood up, brushed off her skirt and headed out to the waiting area with a small smile. "Miss Song...how can I help you?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at her. She wanted to talk to her about her future? That was....hmm. |

Ears everywhere, there were. Aboli knew that to be clear at this point. "I want to use my magic - my gift - " she held up her gloved hands, "With mental health therapy. I had all my applications lined up and ready to send off...we probably won't be going home for Christmas, right?" She made it sound soOOOooo casual, too. She had already lamented lost Christmas plans the previous night as her brain ticked away at all the things. "Maybe you don't even have any answers." |

"Well, the good news is...this isn't the first time seventh years have had outside forces disrupt their plans for university," she said with a soft sigh. "So the universities have tended to be much more lenient on late applications and such," she assured her. Was it convenient? Absolutely not. But at least they were able to get in to their programs of choice without outside factors affecting them. "But...I would be willing to meet with our...Headmaster and see what his thoughts are. Perhaps we can make an exception for our seventh years," she explained, although personally she had very little faith in the idea. Couldn't hurt to ask though? "And...no, I would imagine not. I don't think they want us leaving and being...possibly corrupted by muggle thinking," she said softly, as she was having the same line of thought the seventh year was - were they listening somewhere? Had they planted a bug in her office? Many of their victims would be visiting her, after all... |

Merlin's socks, there was HOPE! "Do you think universities know about stuff happening here, professor?" Again, Aboli's voice was even-keeled. She was so good at it at this point in her life, and she even smiled a very wicked smile at her professor, because if she didn't smile, Recard might not KNOW what Aboli was GETTING at, yeah? Christmas break was not a blow at this point. It was expected, and Aboli merely nodded. "I understand their thinking," was her comment. She did. If she was part of an evil organization wanting to overturn muggles??? it sounded like and she had just taken over the best magical school as a first part of the ploy, she wouldn't want the students going home on break either. All she could do was hope that he'd let them apply still. "Professor - Healer," she shifted her weight from her left to her right foot and tucked some of her newly-blonde hair behind her ear. "I - I don't want you to get in trouble for anything. Not that I think this is worthy of trouble at all, but Headmaster Rosier...is intimidating to me," she admitted, unwilling to say SCARED because she didn't want to appear weak to listening ears. "I can go talk to him to spare you getting into his poor graces. I think the man already dislikes me." Though, with how docile she was lately, she could hardly think he hadn't noticed that. The usual Aboli!sass was gone. There was none this term, and least of all directed towards him. |

Gabi chuckled a little at her last statement and shook her head. "Rosier doesn't seem to be a fan of many people. Myself included, I'm sure - I can present it in a way that doesn't raise any red flags. This isn't my first rodeo with an...organization like this," she said with a sigh. Cults. Seriously. She'd had enough. |

"If you think that's best, Professor, all right. Thank you." She gave Recard an appreciative nod. "Thanks for...everything. Really." Aboli smiled gently as she shifted her bookbag's weight from one shoulder to the other. "I will miss you next term, you know." Her heart quickened its pace as she kept her features steady. There was no crying in Slytherin, all right? At least not so openly. |
Phoebe James very much resembled a turtle with her lower face tucked into her shirt collar. It had been awkward making her way up from the grounds like this, but based on the absolutely horrified look she'd gotten from someone upon entering the castle, it was better to hide her face and not scare any tiny humans along the way. She flexed her repaired fingers and looked for the Healer. "Healer Professor Lady Recard? I'm here about my teeth?" |
Assuming Phoebe is new TL! :D Quote:
"Of course Miss Song," she smiled softly at her, feeling a sort of...PRIDE in her stomach that she didn't usually feel Ok, that was...enough sentiment for now, yes? Because teachers didn't cry either! Quote:
"Now, I want to warn you...this won't be exactly comfortable," she told her with a small frown. There was simply no way around that. She was regrowing BONES after all. |
Quote:
Unfortunately, Aboli missed that look in Recard's eye because she was busy blinking a lot and trying to prevent that feeling in her throat from growing. "Yes ma'am," she said softly. "I should be off now. I've got...lot of....homework...NEWTs...ha...." Aboli gave the woman a quick wave before practically running from the hospital wing. There were NO TEARS. NONE. |
same TL as Charms lesson \o/ Next stop, Hospital Wing. Might have been better if Peralta had given them a note of some kind, in case Rent-a-Snitch was about, but it wasn't a long walk from Charms to here, and the Hug-a-Hoodie Brigade seemed more interested in the content and general sentiment in lessons than a noteless wanderer in the corridors. Not that Nem had any reason to believe they would be entirely disinterested, but their main priorities were fairly obvious. After quietly entering the Hospital Wing, they took a few more steps inside and then stood leaning lightly against the bedframe at the foot of the empty bed closest to the door. They said nothing. Rather than call attention to themselves, they preferred to silently wait to be noticed. Test the waters, you know, see how unobtrusive their presence could be. Nem was in no rush to get back. |

"I'm already uncomfortable, Madame. I'm ready to feel comfortable again." She opened her mouth to show the bleeding mess that she'd been worrying over since taking a full spell to the face in class. "Will you tell me what you're doing?" She'd sort of assumed she didn't have the grades to really pursue the Healer track after Hogwarts, but it didn't keep her from being interested. A girl could dream, right? |

"It's bitter, but only a sip of it is all we need. I suggest plugging your nose and just going for it," she told her with a small smile. |

But anyway. Here for a different reason and all. "I'm fine," Nem said, the answer sounding a little automatic. They paused a beat, then went on. "Well, not fine. I've been feeling a bit light-headed, nothing major, but if it's enough to have to leave class, it made sense to get permission to come straight here." Sensible, see? Responsible Upstead. "I think it's just stress though. Sort of unavoidable." |

While she waited for the nauseating potion to do its work, and trying to distract herself from the churning in her stomach, Phoebe glanced at the clean cots and tidy bottles around her. "D'you know of any books that a fifth year... or someone... might read if they were interested in Healing? Not for me. I mean, how dumb, right? But someone else?" |

"But I'll tell her what you said. Thanks." |

Speaking of which, Nem went ahead and perched on the edge of that bed they'd waited at the foot of. No need to lie down or anything, they weren't an invalid, and there was something too vulnerable for their liking about lying in or on a bed, even reclining, while someone else |

"Let me see your teeth...ah, looks like a few are starting to come in, very slowly though. I imagine it'll be another hour or so," she informed her with a small frown. Quote:

They let their gaze drift then, so they were staring at the wall over on the other side of the hospital wing. After a moment, Nem spoke again, still looking away. "Can I ask you something? More in your capacity as Head of House, I suppose." |

So, as always, they were winging it. Nem let the silence hang for a moment, absently smoothing down the front of their shirt and near-threadbare Slytherin tie. They kept their eyes on that one nondescript point of wall for a little longer, then looked towards Recard. Opened their mouth to speak, paused again, appeared to change their mind, and smiled sheepishly. "Well... I suppose. I just wondered... what should I do?" Yet another pause, during which they glanced to the door of the Hospital Wing and then back again, speaking just a touch softer now. "Any of us, really, with things how they are. Sit tight? Play along? I've been telling my friends not to make waves, and I'm just wondering if that's the right advice to give. Or if there's... something else." See? Look at this. Seeking out the official line from a member of authority. To help themselves and others. Nobody could say Nem was not being terribly proactive. |
Quote:
"I think that's excellent advice," Gabi said with a small smile. "I know it's hard - and the urge for people to want to act out and fight back is strong," especially amongst those darn Gryffindors. "But the safest route for all of us is to just keep our heads down and wait. I know it doesn't seem like it, but the staff are trying our best to...figure things out," she assured them. It was tough speaking frankly out here - you never knew when someone was going to pop up and critique your behavior in this castle. But she was the Healer and this was HER domain. She'd say what she wanted! "Trying to do anything else is just poking the bear at this point," she said sadly. |
Quote:
But all this was good to know. Very good to keep in mind, for one reason or another. Shame they couldn't get any other intel, but maybe there was simply none to give. Not yet, anyway. Not until the staff had figured things out... if they could. "Heads down, wait, don't poke the bear. Solid plan, I think." They smiled again, grim and determined, stretched their fingers back once more until their knuckles cracked, and unlinked them again. "Thanks, professor... And actually, maybe I should go and wait outside my next class. Not always a big fan of these hospital-type places. No offence." |
