| Middle Floors The central floors of the castle contain several classrooms, the headmaster's office, and numerous nooks and crannies to explore. Be careful around the portraits, they are not known to be the best at keeping gossip to a minimum. |

| | Clock Tower Entrance The Clock Tower Entrance is one of the three main entrances of Hogwarts Castle (the other two being the Viaduct Entrance and the main Entrance Hall). It aligns with the third-floor corridor, connecting with the courtyard that stems off to the Wooden Bridge and the rest of the school grounds. This large open space can be magically sealed with a portcullis and the massive double doors can be locked with numerous bolts.
At the base of the Clock Tower is a large window that may cause you to question why it is even there as all you can see out of it is the side of a building. Fortunately for you, the massive steel and iron pendulum swinging back and forth will likely pull you out of trying to figure out that mystery. If you look closely at the suspended weight, an imprint of a many armed star in the middle and a number of runic symbols on the outer rim can be seen. Study the purposeful design on the pendulum as long as you like. Just don't fall into temptation of swinging from it and pretending to be a wrecking ball.

Hogwarts RPG Name: The Narrator | follow me; everything is all right.
Footprints, stark against the aged surface of the ground, seemed to emerge from nowhere and yet everywhere, leading in and out of the shadows. With the clock's rhythmic ticking echoing around them, the tracks became a haunting enigma, a silent invitation to unravel the secrets hidden within Hogwarts' stone walls. The prints varied in size and shape, some appeared dainty and delicate, others were broad and heavy, and yet the sheer number of overlapping steps and strides made it difficult to discern their origins.
How very curious.

| not throwing away my shot | Slytherpuff | roll for initiative | woof you ❤ Fresh air was good for the mind, and a good break for the mind of a seventh year trying to prepare for OWLs. Alissa tried to remember to get some fresh air at least every once in a while and take a walk around the grounds. On this particular day she was on her way back inside the castle when she noticed the footprints on the ground. At first, she didn't think too much of it. Footprints by an entrance to the castle weren't that unusual. Except... she didn't remember them being there before. And who did they belong to? There were so many of them and yet she didn't think she'd seen that many people out and about, had she? Liss stopped to look more closely at them. She couldn't even tell if they were coming or going. Very strange indeed. |

Caledon Roth The Leaky Cauldron | Rhibear ~ Madam Solo ~ Dark Brooding Girl ~ Accio Jedi ~ Gryffinclaw ~ Just a doll Sydney was sick of being cooped up indoors! She needed some fresh air and time with the plants on the school grounds to clear her mind. The blonde made her way to the clock tower entrance, stopping as she saw the footprints. Those weren't there before… how odd!
Her mind was buzzing with possible scenarios. Maybe the house elves were shirking their chores. Maybe someone left them as a prank… though if that was the case, she had no idea what the joke was. Maybe someone was trying to sneak into the castle and planted the footprints to throw everyone off their trail.
As she moved in to get a closer look, she noticed the older girl. ”Do you think these footprints happened naturally, or did someone leave them on purpose?” she asked.

As she moved in to get a closer look, she noticed the older girl. ”Do you think these footprints happened naturally, or did someone leave them on purpose?” she asked. Alissa was drawn out of her private contemplation by the arrival of a younger Slytherin girl. She didn't know her, but she have her a friendly smile anyway as she joined her in looking at the footprints. And though Liss knew that she probably hadn't meant her question to be a philosophical one, she couldn't help but take it that way, at least at first. "If you think about it, all footprints happen naturally and on purpose." If 'on purpose' just meant walking somewhere, since footprints were a natural consequence. But that answer wasn't very helpful at all, and probably not what the girl was looking for. "If you mean did someone intend to misdirect, I'm not sure. It does look like more than one person. Or perhaps one person with a lot of different shoes." She smiled a little to herself at that, imagining what that might have looked like. "Did you see anyone around before you came out here?" |

Sydney nodded politely in acknowledgement of the older Ravenclaw’s smile, but it wasn’t until the other spoke that a small smile of her own spread across her face. She may have even chuckled slightly. Okay, she supposed that was a poorly worded question on her part! ”Fair point,” she conceded.
She tilted her head to one side, considering the answer carefully. An idea suddenly occurred to her, and she bent to get a closer look at the footprints. “Maybe they weren’t created with shoes at all. Do you know of a spell that could produce footprints?” she mused out loud. She shook her head at the next question. ”No, not on this floor. Did you?”

Do you know of a spell that could produce footprints?” she mused out loud. She shook her head at the next question. ”No, not on this floor. Did you?” "Oh, that's a good idea." She should probably have considered that the footprints could have been made by magic. Around here, that tended to be the answer more often than not. Something mysterious and magical going on wouldn't really be all that surprising. Except, she didn't know a spell that would do that, and she shook her head to indicate so. "No, not off the top of my head anyway. That doesn't mean one doesn't exist, but I'd have to do some research." Since it wasn't something she had learned in class, it also meant that if someone had intentionally cast such a spell they also would have had to look it up. It wasn't a huge clue, but it was a clue nonetheless. "Have you learned one like that?" It would be helpful to know, actually. Since Alissa hadn't come to Hogwarts until her fourth year, it was possible that younger Hogwarts students might have heard of a spell that Ilvernormy students weren't taught at the same age.
Alissa shook her head again at the girl's next question. "No, I haven't noticed anyone in particular coming in or out of this entrance. Definitely not a whole group of people. Unless...they could have been invisible?" |

Dust, dust, dusty dust…
Tippin hummed a little tune to himself as he dusted the wall, reaching as high as his small height would allow. He approached clock tower entrance and the two girl studentsies. What were they looking at?
His large eyes went as wide as saucers as he saw the footprints. ”Oh, no! Messy footprints everywhere! Did Tippin forget to clean the floorses?” |
