Tour of Ancient Petra Date: Junichiro Sasaki and Paris Greenwood

http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/...cientpetra.jpg

Once the capital city of the ancient Nabataean kingdom is Petra; famous for its beautiful architecture, and breathtaking scenery. The former trading city is only accessible by foot (or horses and donkeys the first half) through the mile long Siq gorge, sandstone cliffs rising high on both sides of the path that varies in width as you travel through. Small niches, carvings, and shrines of ancient god and goddesses are there to explore along the long meandering walk. The gorge narrows once more to reveal the wondrous site of Al Khaznah, more commonly referred to as The Treasury.

After the long trek, Petra has finally been reached.

The Treasury is carved into the canyon wall, its true beauty remaining in the exterior as the interior is mostly recessed area. The only semi-permanent inhabitants of the valley’s entrance are the camels, donkeys, horses, and their owners looking to rent out their tired creatures.

Around the next bend is the Street of Facades, a large canyon that contains the frontal of many tombs. The Roman Theater, a Greek style amphitheater still used for occasional performances, is at the end of the long street, and just a short walk up a hill over on the opposite side are the Royal Tombs, grander in size than all the others.

The opposite end of Perta has the impressive temple, the Monastery, which is about an hour’s climb on rock-cut steps by donkey or foot. And it’s well worth it for the view.

Explore all that the ancient city has to offer, including Basin Restaurant where they serve delicious Middle Eastern foods and small vendors that hot and cold beverages and snacks. The Matchmaker team has provided you both with backpacks supplied with everything you and your date will need, including muggle money for the food, and those nifty decorative sand arts.

Date?

Jun really wanted to kill his twin siblings, Yuzu and Ichigo who forced him to apply the matchmaker. He didn't think to have date with any woman anymore. Well.. He could say that he still loved Naoko. But yeah.. He would try.

Tour of Ancient Petra. Actually Junichiro Sasaki was not a fan of ancient history. So, how could the matchmaker put him in this tour? *sigh* But this place looked awesome for him. Hopefully he could enjoy it with his date. And now, he was waiting for her, the woman who would be his blind that. He noticed on his watch, Jun didn't like to wait and late person. So, was she late? he didn't know.

Paris was going to kill her brothers for doing this to her. Paris Emily Greenwood DID NOT need a blind date. She was one of Witch Weekly's Most Eligible Bachelorettes.

The memory of her date with Nik was still vivid in her mind. She knew he was just as taken with her as she was with him, but both of them being predators neither of them was willing to make the first declaration. With that move came the perceived lose of power and Paris liked being in control of things. That was just her nature.

But here she was in the desert no less on a blind date. She pulled her hat lower and pushed her sunglasses up higher to block out the glare of the sun. Though the heat didn't bother her. She had spent plenty of summers in her family home in Ghana.

Paris stifled a yawn and picked her way through the ruins taking in all the history. She stood back as she spotted her date. "At least he is cute," she muttered. But she priced his entire outfit at less than $500. Not that she was that snobby, but it didn't bode well.

She sighed and made her way over to him as she noticed him looking at his watch like she was late. "Perfection takes time if you haven't noticed." Paris pointed out to him as she finally made it over to him. Even in her heeled boots she was still half a head shorter than him, but that was no bother. She was always the shortest in the room.

Jun noticed there was a woman walked toward her. Well, she was not late, finally.

Wait, Is she my blind date? asked Jun in his mind/ Oh no, he was nervous now. He never been a date with European woman and noticed from her outfit, the girl might be a royal fashionista. Maybe she would think that Jun was just an ordinary man.

So, what should he do? Jun tried to be cool. He took of his sunglasses and smiled to the woman.

"Hi." said him short and cool.

I'm sorry I thought I sent this earlier this morning!

Paris stopped and looked at the man as he opted for his interpretation of cool. Oh yeah this was right up her alley. She kept her sunglasses on she she peered at him. At least he wouldn't know she was openly evaluating him. "Hello." Paris said finally offering him a greeting.

She flipped up the small brim of her hat and peered out over Petra. It was a beautiful place. An ancient place that hummed with arcane magic that Paris could feel in the balls of her feet. It was a nice backdrop to a blind date. Because if the date was bad at least she had Petra to explore. "I'm Paris Greenwood by the way." Since it was evident that he wasn't going to take the lead. Not that she was going to let him, but she would have respected him more if he had tired.

So.. she would be his date. Paris Greenwood. Hmm..

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Ms. Greenwood." Jun smiled. "I'm Junichiro Sasaki. Just call me Jun." He tried to be friendly and easy going though he was quite nervous.

"So." he said. "Do you love ancient history?" He asked. He still looked for the nice topic conversation.

Paris walked around him slowly taking in everything that was Junichiro. Her Prada boots ringing out across Petra with each slow step. "Now what kind of woman would I be if I called you something everyone else calls you?" She stopped and tapped a finger against her chin and she considered her own question. "Why that would make me ordinary." She chuckled. "And my dear Mr. Sasaki I am far from ordinary. You may call me Paris. My mother is Mrs. Greenwood." She told him. "I think I will call you Chiro." She gave him a sly smile.

Paris chuckled. "Is that really want you want to talk about?" She ran her hand along the rough edge of the rock. "I can think of better things to occupy my time with other than ancient history." She mused. She eyed the men offering tours of Petra, but she was leery of climbing on top of those animales. The poor beasts looked totally spent. Paris turned to Jun and pulled her sunglasses down so he could see her eyes. "If you want to live a little I've got a carpet we can ride." her brown eyes glinted wickedly.

*sigh*

Okay, Jun would call her Paris but... Chiro?? :whaa:

"Pardon, but I am very comfortable if you call me Jun, or Junichiro."He said cool. He hated silly nickname. Eh, no.. not because of that. Well, because his name was written in kanji alphabet and it was 'Jun', 'Ichi', and 'Ro'. "Because in Japanese language my name consist of 3 kanji alphabet. Hope you'll understand." explained him short.

Well, she was not a fan of History too, same as him. But he was very enthusiast with ancient Japanese history, maybe because it was his heritage.

"Well, I think it will be better if we just walk." he said cool.

Paris pulled her sunglasses off completely to look at him.

Oh this was going to get boring real fast if he couldn't even take a joke or a nickname. She sighed and tried to retrain her eyes from rolling, but it was an effort.

Yeah she as going to kill her brothers for this. She was wasting her brand new Prada's on this date and he wanted to walk around a rocky ancient city in the boiling middle eastern sun.

She totally dismissed his little plea about his name. What a wet rag. Paris should have known better. "Let's get this over with Junichiro." She said emphasizing his name.

At this point he was going to be lucky if she even acknowledges his presence now. The ship carrying her good graces had just set sail and he missed it.

Paris was willing to concede Poland to Nik and call him up for another date if this was the dating pool she was swimming in.

Well, it's better. He liked when a stranger prefered to call him Junichiro. Maybe he seemed arrogant and serious. Yeah, he is. It was hard to be nice with a woman for him. Except..

Errr.. forget about that. He walked around the ancient petra. Jun was not impressed about it. He was bored. Ancient history was not his stuff. He'd better to spend his time reading at his private library or cooking or playing with the twins.

"So.." he started to speak. "I bet you came from rich family. Am I right?" he guessed

Paris stopped walking and turned to look at him. Her sunglasses once again perched on her face. "What ever gave you that impression?" she asked him seriously. He wasn't dressed as if he could spot a designer fashion accessory. Though Paris was wearing enough money to feed a family for several months. "No you aren't right. But to answer your question. I made my money the old fashion way." She pulled her sunglasses down to the tip of her nose so that only her eyes were exposed. "I earned it." He didn't need to know that Paris did indeed come from an extremely wealthy family. Once she left Hogwarts she set out to make her own fortune. It was nice spending other people's money but it was nicer to make her own and still spend other people's money.

Her grandmother didn't like it but Paris was still a Riddle and this entitled to the Riddle Trust. And the day Paris stopped to care what her grandmother thought about anything she did was the day hell turned into a great winter vacation spot.

"Nothing, I'm Just guessing." said him short. Then he continued his walk. He didn't know what he need to talk to her. Jun was not too friendly with strangers, especially woman. Maybe because of that he was hard to find a right woman to replace Naoko in her heart. In fact, he was hard to forget about her.

"So, you were working?" he asked. "Where?"

Paris popped a piece of Droobles bubble gum into her mouth and chewed a few times before blowing a gigantic bubble before she answered him. "I still work honey." The bubble popped and Paris giggled.

She popped a few more bubbles. "I am the founder and principle potioneer of the Greenwood Potions Factory. However right now I am negotiating taking my company public and since I was spending so much of my time at Gringotts I figured I should be paid for it. So I got a job as a curse breaker." She thought that had been a stroke of genius. Paris figured she had to ask, "So what is it that keeps you rolling in the gold?" Not that he had a lot to roll in mind you.

A potioneer and curse breaker at Gringotts? Well, this woman seemed like she was a hardworker and independent.

"Your job sounds interesting." he said. But Jun didn't like a woman who chewed and popped the bubble gum in front of him. That's so rude and disgusting.

Talking about job? Hmm.. "Now, I work at Ministry." he said. "I am a researcher of Department Accidents and Catastrophes." then he wore his sunglasses. Well, he was not a fan of sunny day because his eyes were sensitive with light.

"Are you tired?" he asked. "I want to buy some snacks and drinks."

Paris was glad that she was wearing her sunglasses because her eyes kept rolling the longer Jun kept talking. He was so typically boring. She blew another bubble and popped it. "Everything about me is interesting." she countered.

And arid breeze lifted up the hem of her dress. She welcomed the air and stood to keep her dress from flying up around her navel. She was not wearing the underwear fit for exhibition. "Oh a book worm. How quaint." He spent all his time indoors, nose stuck in a book. Yep he was boring.

Paris looked at him, "We've been walking about about 20 minutes. Why would I be tired already?" She didn't like people trying to shove off their weaknesses on her to try to use her as the reason for their weakness. If he was tired and wanted to stop all he had to do was say so. "Oh be my guest." she gestured with ehr hand toward the little kiosks that were set up around the site.

Paris had packed a picnic for the occasion, but not she wasn't sure she wanted to share with him.
