Scuba Diving Date: Andrew Rose and Vicky Daniels The deep seas are one of the many wonders that our world holds, and wouldn’t it be amazing to be able to spend a day seeing what the many under water creatures see whilst under the sea? Well today might just be your lucky day. The tropical blue waters draw you in, as the boat meanders away from the dock, and out to sea. The great barrier reef is one of the prettiest places on earth, and today you get to see it up close! Along with your date you put your scuba gear on, and it’s not long before you’re jumping backwards into the sea. Prepare to be amazed as you see the brightly coloured coral up close. Creatures such as sea turtles and dolphins are known for living around the reef, so keep your eyes peeled and you might just get a surprise! Just be careful to not disturb any of the coral! You wouldn’t want to break anything. You may find that you could literally spend the whole day exploring all of the reef, but make sure that you don’t spend too long down there, the oxygen canisters are only full of so much oxygen! But enjoy yourselves, this is a once in a life time opportunity. |
Andrew was going to kill Alexander Rose. It was official. Really, he knew his brother meant well, but honestly, he didn't lose the love of his life. Alex should have been the one applying for himself, not meddling in his brother's affairs. But he was an honest and true badger and of course, a teammate. He wasn't about to stand-up a "blind date", even if he didn't approve of it. Besides, the scuba diving part sounded like fun. Maybe he'd find a rare aquatic sea animal and bring it back to smack Alex with. No, Vicky Daniels, no flowers for you. Andrew didn't want to give his unapproved blind date the wrong idea, after all. He wasn't looking for love. He had love. And fate wasn't on their side. But he wasn't the type to not bring anything either. No flowers, because the last time he gave flowers to a girl, was his wife. But what he did have was something else. Pink scuba diving goggles. And a matching blue pair for himself. Because the one's provided for them were always cheap ones that they could never see properly out of. |
Vicky headed out to the dock where she was to meet her blind date. Vicky was looking forward to meeting a new friend not necessarily a new love. Even so Vicky was still going to be charming. Who knew the fates have in mind? She decided to dress a bit parred down from her usual suites. She went simply pretty in a long flowing dress, shades, a stylish bag and flats. She kept her low cropped hair neat an sleek and simple. She saw a handsome man who must be her date. Walking over to him she smiled and said,"Hi, I'm Vicky Daniels. Are you Andrew?" |
Glancing both ways on the dock, Andrew nervously awaited his date's arrival. He actually wouldn't be bothered if she didn't show, but just as he was counting on her not showing, he noticed a female in a simple long dress walking his way. It could be. He again half-wished it wasn't. But before he could dwell on it, she was standing before him. Vicky Daniels, much to his dismay was not bad looking. And to a bigger disappointment, she carried herself with ease. The kind that sort of made him think that she too wasn't looking for love. "I am Andrew, yes. Andrew Rose." He said, looking at her attire again and then glanced over his shoulder at the water. "Um... you .... did bring more proper attire in that bag of yours, right?" he asked. Not to be rude or anything, but they were going scuba diving, not shopping. Perhaps he should have purchased swimsuits not just goggles. |
She smiled at him, stretch her hand toward him and said,"It's nice to meet you. I never thought I'd ever do something like this but what do I have to lose. A girl just wants to have fun." as she giggled a bit. He was polite and didn't seem startled which was always a good thing. The last time she went out with a man he was rude and obnoxious. Vicky couldn't help but chuckle at his question and said,"Of course I did. I hope you did." as she cocked an eyebrow at him. He was rather handsome, yup very handsome. She gave him a quick once over before she said,"So, shall we?" |
Ah, she was the handshake type. And in only struck him then that he should have offered his hand first. Scratching the back of his head absently, he reached with his other hand and took it. "Which part? The scuba diving or the blind date bit?" He mused, hoping it was the former. Oh good. She brought other clothes, which meant she WANTED to scuba dive. "Huh. You mean diving in my clothes isn't advisable?" he joked, before realizing he should present the goggles. "Sorry, I've been out of the dating game for awhile. But my brother - sweet as he is - thought I needed to get out and meet people." Andrew shook his head, sighing. "But um... here... before we go get changed..." He handed her the pink goggles, with a small bow on it. "You'll want these, I reckon." |
"Both. I'm always up for fun and new stuff, even dating. I must warn you I'm well out of practice, so excuse me if I say something silly." she remarked with a smirk. "Well, thank your brother for me. At least I get to meet someone new." she replied. When he handed her the goggles, she smiled and said,"Thank you, they are cute. It's not often a girl gets goggles." She swung it on her wrist and said,"Well, I guess we should change and get going. I'm dying to get under water." As she was about to turn and head to the changing room, she turned back and said,"I hope your swim gear isn't anything like what you're wearing now. Otherwise, swimming would be a tad bit difficult." |
"Out of practice? You've no idea. The last woman I dated was ..." He paused, thinking a moment. "Over fifteen years ago." Nevermind the fact that the last woman he dated was also one that he was married to up until almost two years ago when that dreadful incident. But alas, he reckoned truth or not, Vicky did NOT want to hear about his tragic love story on their first date. "Only if today goes well," he nodded. After he smacked his brother with his beater's bat a few times that is. But if today didn't go well, then he'd smack his brother a little harder and then forget that today ever existed. Oh good. She liked them. And she liked to sass him too. Good of her. "Don't worry, it's worse," he teased as he slipped into the male changing room for a quick five minutes. |
