When he first heard he'd be visiting a MUSEUM for this date thing, Derek had considered owling his date and asking her if she wanted to go somewhere more awesome some other time. Because museums were NOT fun and were for weird smart people like his stepsister Vashti or his dad. But then he'd realized - well, his dad had actually pointed it out - that the museum was actually a QUIDDITCH museum. And that instantly made it more awesome. So here he was. It didn't seem his date was here yet though. What was her name? Sonia...something. He didn't remember. The first name was what was most important though anyway, so he figured he was still okay. Wasn't like he was going to call his date by her last name the entire time. That'd be weird. He also couldn't remember what time this date thing was supposed to start. He knew he wasn't late, but he didn't know how long he would be waiting for his date to arrive. Should've checked the time, shouldn't he? Oh well. Derek occupied himself with whistling a catchy tune he'd heard the other day and pacing baaaack and fooorth, thiiis way and thaaat way, waaaiting waaaiting waaaaiting. |
Derek. That was what the card had said and to be honest, the blonde was going to trust this little card that she had been given when she signed up for this blind date. In all honesty she was not exactly sure why she had signed up in the first place to even go on this date. Her elder sister, Katerina, had pretty much told Sonia that she was too intrusive and did not get herself out there enough. Perhaps she had a point. Sonia was not exactly the loud and boisterous type of girl. She was soft spoken and enjoyed people's company, but was not very talkative at all. However, when Kat told her that she was too intrusive for her own good Sonia wanted to prove a point. So here she was... at a museum... with someone she had never met before. The petite blonde walked into the museum clicking her small heels as she walked. Her shoulders were slightly turned in when she spotted a cluster of portraits milling about on the wall. They all smiled and waved to her and pointed her down the hall. She smiled and bowed her head a little in thanks and headed off towards where they had al instructed. There, standing by a few world cup trophies, was a man who seemed to be bouncing about to something Sonia could not hear. Slowly she approached him and then she tapped on his shoulder. Clearing her throat she asked, "Excuse me, are you Derek?" |
Waaaiting waaaiting waa- Eh? Derek spun around when he felt a tap on his shoulder and found a girl standing there, asking if he was Derek. OOOOOOOOOO, was this his date? "I am!" he answered, grinning broadly. "You're Sonia, yeah?" Surely she was. How else would she know his name? Unless she was a stalker. She didn't LOOK like a stalker though - not that he KNEW what a stalker looked like or anything - so he assumed she was, in fact, his date. WOOT. |
Sonia jumped a little at the excitement radiating from her date. Had she done something so off color that he felt the need to jump? Had she done something wrong? Oh bother, that was not what she had intended to do, he must think her so rude to behave in the manner she was behaving. It was all so jumbled up and confusing. "You are." she somewhat squeaked as she repeated what in said. When he asked if she was indeed Sonia, she nodded meekly, "Erm... yes, yes I am she. How are you?" |
Oh. Had he scared her? Was that what her sort of squeaky reply meant? Why would she be scared though? He wasn't intimidating. Was he? Maybe it was his good looks. They would probably intimidate anyone because NO ONE could compete with him. No one. At least she WAS his date though. Would be no good to scare a completely random girl that he didn't know. Granted, Derek didn't really know Sonia either. Except for her name, of course. "I'm great!" he answered, still grinning. "You?" |
