They say true love is a match made in heaven. Perhaps they’re right. Find out high above the trees on a romantic hot air balloon ride.

You walk down a hill and find an enormous balloon with alternating, multicolored stripes waiting for you and your date in the valley. Climb into the basket and prepare for the gravity defying ride. Get hungry? Not a problem. There’s a basket filled with sandwiches and sweets alike. Dine, chat, and enjoy the view among the clouds.

Isabis still wasn't sure about this whole matchmaking... thing... date. Still wasn't sure why she'd even showed up. She could have simply ignored the owl with her date information, and went on with her life like she'd never made the terrible decision to sign-up. But that was such a chicken move, and Isabis was no chicken.

Most days.

Today she was part-chicken what with all the knots twisting in her stomach. Not knowing anything about her date but his name, was nothing short of nerve racking. She tugged anxiously on the sleeve of her sweater and looked around for the someone that was her date. If he didn't arrive soon, she'd just leave and pretend this was all a terrible dream.

In his opinion the idea of a matchmaker was stupid. How many people who signed up were actually matched with someone compatible? The two names were probably drawn out of a hat. It was what Dash had been trying to explain to his sister after she told him she had signed him up. He was trying to rationalize exactly why there was no point in him actually going on the matchmaker date.

And for some reason it didn't work.

Which was exactly why he was here.

The only thing making the idea of the date more interesting was that he had intentionally signed Cai up for the same thing. Just so he could suffer as well. Making his way down the hill, Dash's eyes wandered to the colourful striped balloon that he had never seen up close. He was so transfixed with the balloon, as he reached the valley it took him a few seconds to realize a woman was already standing next to it. Was he late? No. Everett Scabior was never late. "Isabis Elba?"

Maybe she would stay, even if her mystery date didn't show. Hot air balloons were nice in their own way, and she'd never been up in one. And it wasn't like anyone would know she was on a date... without her date. Hmm. Isa was so busy thinking on this, that she didn't even notice her date until he was already beside her.

She confirmed his suspicions with a nod, and turned all her attention on him. "And I take it you're Everett Scabior." There was some relief in knowing that she hadn't been stood up, and it showed some in her smile. "Pleasure to meet you."

Well now that he knew that his date was here, there would be no chance of leaving. He would just suck it up, it couldn't turn out that bad. Hopefully she wasn't just a pretty face. He nodded. "Most people just call me Dash."

"Pleasure to meet you too. So Isabis-" Dash's eyes looked toward the sky at the ballon, and he pointed up. "-Have you been in one of these before?"

"I've never ridden one, but I've seen them plenty of times, and they always look like fun." Never enough fun for Isa to actually ride one though, until now. Looking at it curiously, she took a step over. "And how about you, Dash?" She made a face that was only slighted by her self control.

A hand when up to tuck a stray curl behind her ear. "Why do they call you Dash?" To Isabis, his first name suited him well enough. Much better than Dash.

"Too scared to go in one, or just didn't care too?" If he would have to say anything nice about the matchmaker place, it was that they sure knew how to pick a creative place for a date. But if someone actually had a fear of heights that wouldn't work too well. "I've only read about them." Dash said shaking his head as he took note of the look on her face.

"Because I tell them to." He shrugged, technically, that was the reason why. He wasn't trying to be difficult (for once) he just had to point that out. "I have three older sisters, when I was a kid they'd always try to dress me up. My parents found it funny that I was always dashing around to find someplace to hide, annd the fact that my middle name is Dashiell...welll...the name somehow formed and stuck." Which he had no problem with.

"You can call me whatever you want though. It doesn't matter to me." He was only attached to the name because that was what he was used to. Dash pushed his hands in his pockets, in a completely relaxed way. "Do you have a name you would rather me call you, or is Isabis good?"

"Never cared to." Isa was perfectly fine with being so high in the air, but she never did care to find the time in her day to go up in a balloon. What would be the point, except to have a first date in apparently. Absently she wondered just how long they would be up in the sky.

Her eyes shifted away from the balloon, and she paused when he went into detail about why he was called Dash. "That's a lovely story behind your nickname, but I think I'll stick with Everett." And who knew, maybe Dash would grow on her. If they decided to met up after this blind date that is. "Isabis or Isa. Whichever you prefer." She shrugged one shoulder daintily. "No story behind the latter."

"Shall we head in then?"

Dash nodded. "Makes sense. I don't think people walk around every day thinking, 'hey i'm bored, I should get in a giant balloon'" When he really thought about it, it was hard to imagine anyone getting into a basket carried by a balloon for any reason.

He nodded, as if to thank her for calling his story lovely. It wasn't really. It was just a story. "Feel free too." Just a shortened name, got it. "Isabis it is then. Ladies first?" Dash held out his arm toward the balloon. He could be polite.

It was just rare.

Heh. A smile twitched up the corners of her lips and she nodded her head in agreement. No one with good sense at least would randomly ride in a hot air balloon. And a job.

Ladies first, yes. She moved inside of the balloon and had a look around, noting the picnic basket. Hot air balloon ride and a meal. This date really wouldn't be so bad, so long as he kept being good company. "Do you like flying? By magical means." Not in giant hot air balloons made by muggles.

Following Isabis, Dash hopped into the balloon. He looked around a bit before taking notice the the picnic basket. Oh food. Dash smirked as a thought came to him. "That basket is to us, what we would be to a dragon, when we're up in the air." Food in a basket. "Of course this isn't Dragon territory." He was just saying. Before he could say anything else the balloon would take off, the fire above them was suddenly lit and the basket slowly began to rise. So some magic was used in this!

"Actually..." He trailed off to look at her, he was always a bit hesitant when someone asked him that. "I hate it. But probably only because I'm rubbish at it. Like really, really bad at it." Usually people didn't like what they weren't good at, and Dash and brooms did not get along. Flying was probably the only thing he would admit to being horrible at. "What about you? Secret Quidditch player, flyer extraordinaire?" Crossing his arms he leaned against the rising basket to get a better look at her.

"Thankfully." She looked at the smaller basket in question. "I'd hate to think that they'd send us off through dragon territory in this giant balloon with only that and our wands as protection." It certainly wasn't a comforting thought, but his analogy was amusing and showed in her smile.

Oh. It was a magical balloon. Isabis chanced a glance over the side as they slowly rose higher into the air, hands lightly gripping the basket's edge.

With a small shake of her head, she was glancing back over at him. "I'm not very... athletically inclined when it comes to broom games." She turned to face him properly, leaning against the basket with both hands still loosely holding the edge. "Had some talent at other games when I was a child, but I suppose it faded as I matured." And if she was one for playing sports, she'd be disappointed. But she wasn't. "Any talents you do have?"

"That would be the best way to eliminate negative reviews about their matchmaking abilities." Get rid of anyone who hated their dates.

Of course the date had just started, so he could hardly say that the date wasn't going well.

"Yeah?" He raised a brow. "What other games?" Muggle games? Magically ones? It made a difference. As for any talents that he had? Dash racked his brain. Somehow he didn't think his expertise in sarcasm counted as a talent. He shook his head before his shoulders went up in defeat. "Not really. I used to be able to walk on my hands for quite sometime while doing a handstand." But he hadn't done that in....three years? Maybe more. He would have tried to do one, if they were not in a balloon that continued to rise into the air.

Dash drummed his fingers along the basket, his eyes falling on the small basket. He was kind of hungry. He didn't get a chance to suggest taking a look at what food was with them before a thought popped into his mind. "So Isabis, what field are you in?"

"That certainly is an... interesting line of thought you have." He wasn't thinking of complaining about their date already, was he? Merlin, that was going to have her nerves working up again if he kept it up.

A hand raised to tuck a loose curl behind her ear. "Muggle games," It wasn't until after speaking that she realized she might need to elaborate. "I played softball, and cricket. Nothing exciting." The fact that she even played those sports as a child was still shocking to those who knew her. His talent was certainly more interesting than her sports, but maybe that was because she never had been able to do a handstand. "Gymnastics was never a talent of mine. Suppose I lack a certain amount of balance and coordination that's required." Isabis used to have the scars to prove it, but thankfully time had faded those.

"I'm in the medical field," She said with a small nod, not missing his eying of the smaller basket. Hopefully whatever was in there, was a good date meal. "So if you fall out, I can patch you back up properly. Though my specialty lies in magical diseases and illnesses. What about you?"

It wasn't as if Dash was trying to be cynical. In fact the was trying to be as optimistic as possible. He just had a problem with filtering his words, but it did occur to him that he probably sounded bad. Especially from Isabis's tone. "Yeah..." His grip on he basket tightened just a bit. "...I didn't mean anything by it." He would just leave it at that.

Muggle Games? Interesting. The dark haired man nodded. He hadn't grown up around Muggles that much, but he knew enough. "Softball, that's like a forum of baseball right?" There was something different about the game. Larger bats or balls, he had read about it once. Cricket was something that he actually seen played up close. The game looked confusing. "Crickets the one that can last for days yeah? Kind of has a Quidditch time frame to it." As in, they could both go on forever. "Were you any good at them?"

Dash chuckled, super good to know. "Well I can honestly say that I had no plans in falling out, but that is extremely comforting." He smirked. "So by diseases and illnesses, are you one of those people who try to develop new cures? Or who work with the all ready damaged?" Dash pushed away from where he was and made his way to the picnic basket, just to give himself something to do. Kneeling he opened the basket and pulled out a small blanket and began to spread it on the floor. "I guess I would say I dabble a bit. But at the moment I'm in the teaching profession."

She was going to leave it at that as well. If he said that he meant nothing by it, then she couldn't do much else but take his word for it. And enjoy their date. The nod that left her hopefully said just that.

"But for girls. The balls are bigger and pitching is underhanded, along with a few other differences to baseball." But she wasn't going to bore him with all the pointless details of the sport. Isa dismissed it all with a wave of her hand, and went on to cricket. "It does last a few days, but it's not nearly as dangerous or exciting as quidditch. Though that could be because it's a muggle sport." In her opinion, most everything was more exciting in the wizarding world. "I was decent enough to make the team, but never good enough to start or earn my name printed in the school papers." It didn't bruise her ego though, athletics had a firm place in her heart.

Her smile spread into an easy grin. "Having someone around who can fix you up always is, so I've been told." And so it had been proven many a times while she was out and about. Though really, she didn't want that to be tested out now. Look at how high up they were! "I started out at a clinic healing those with curable illnesses and diseases, but now I've progressed to attempting to find new cures." Her head tilted to the side as she watched him set up their picnic in a basket... that was pack into a smaller basket. Hm.

"Dabbling? Do you teach at a university, an academy, or privately? And what subject?" Something of interest to her maybe? And maybe she should help him set up there meal? Isabis ventured over to the picnic basket and peeked inside.

Dash didn't object as she waved off explaining the differences between the two games, he didn't mind since he didn't understand baseball as it was. "Well I'd think anything played on a broom would have an advantage to a game on the ground. If you take out the brooms, Quidditch would be quite silly." Just the thought made him want to shake his head. It would be ridiculous.

"Go on you."There was a small paused before he added, "For any work that you do really." Dash smiled, before shifting a bit close to her. It was hard not to respect someone who tried to cure people for a living. "If I end up developing an incurable disease you'll be the first person I go to. And I'll expect you to fix me right up."

"Dabbling." He nodded. "I didn't plan to get into teaching....I just fell into it, so I guess it would be easy to fall right out." If he got fed up with it. There were times he wondered why he even bothered to apply to the job, but that was only when students failed to listen.

University? Academy? Privately? "At Hogwarts actually. And I'm the History of Magic Professor." He gazed at Isabis as she looked into the basket. Well if she wanted to help set up she was free to. "Anything good?"

"It would, but knowing wizards, they'd just find another way to make the sport fascinating to watch if grounded." Like add in a dangerous creature or magical fire, or something. Wizards, in Isabis' opinion, were just as oddly creative as muggles when it came to sports. In their own way of course.

She smiled softly, genuinely pleased by his comment. "Thank you." It was always nice when someone verbalized there appreciation for her specific field, especially since she just wasn't in it for the fame and glory that came with such findings. "Well, I am quite good at my job, so you'll be in good hands. Should you ever fall ill with an incurable." It was a light jest, but she seriously hoped he never would come down with anything.

"Teaching is a very rewarding field, I've heard." And she was interested now in hearing more about his work. The curly haired woman paused in her rummaging of the basket to listen to him. "Hogwarts, I've heard of that school quite a bit. Have you been teaching there long? Why History?" Soo many questions. But she was curious; it wasn't often that she ran across a professor of history, and never one from the local school.

The basket wasn't as interesting as finding out more about him, but she went back to it anyway at the inquiry and pulled out a bottle of elderflower wine, passing it over to him before she returned to the basket. "Nothing terrible. I'd hardly consider any of this suitable for a proper meal, but then this isn't a exactly the place for such a thing." Hot air balloons weren't a suitable place for anything really. "Sandwiches, fruit salads.." Isa started to pull out the items one by one, spreading them neatly on the blanket in front of them.

Yeah, he didn't want to think about that. "Wizards can be so incredibly stupid sometimes." Dash said with a loud sigh. He didn't even want to think about what they could do to make ground quidditch more fun.

Maybe something to do with Goblins?

Amazing, now he knew who to go to in case he was poisoned as well. Merlin knew that Dash did not trust that blonde woman in the hospital wing.

"It...can be." He guessed. The few times he had been pleased by a student for finally understanding were ruined by other students who went in the opposite direction. "But I'm not really the teaching type." He gave a slightly superior shrug. "So I have yet to see anything rewarding from my job." What? It was the truth.

Dash raised a brow, slightly taken back. Of he knew that Witch and Wizard out there did not attend Hogwarts, he just assumed that everyone just knew about it. "I believe it's one of the finest magical institutions in the world." Wizarding world that was. "Not that I am bragging." Just stating a fact.

Dash rested his hands at his side. She was full of questions. It wasn't as if Dash had problems talking about himself, as long as he didn't have to talk about anything too personal. "About a year and a half now, so I'm still fairly new to it." This time around he knew a thing or two. As for why he chose history? "That's a second date question." He said, with an amused smirk. "But seriously...you don't want to hear about that. It's....unnecessary boring information." He waved the question off. "So, what school did you attend?"

Accepting the bottle of wine he placed it over to his side. He wasn't going to complain about what food was given, the man hadn't expected food at all. "Probably for the best anyways. I doubt that flying and heavy foods mix well." Reaching over Dash plucked up two cups before opening the wine bottle. "Here-" He held up a filled cup for her to take.

Wizards could be stupid, and oftentimes were. But so could muggles, but she didn't verbalize her opinion, it would just be assumed so.

"That's too bad," To have a job and not see how rewarding it was. Yes, her current job was full of disappointment, but then it was supposed to be that way, she knew that going into it. Curing the incurable wasn't something easily done, after all. But teaching was supposedly much more... rewarding. "I don't think I've heard a professor speak about the job that way." It was a small complement, because at least he was being honest.

Her head tilted to the side a bit as she looked at him curiously. "I take it your an alumnus of the school as well then." It wasn't the first time she'd heard they were the 'best' wizarding school in the world, she'd actually heard it more than she could care to remember since moving here, but the looked that accompanied his response seemed to match those of the other graduates. "I can't say that I disagree, I've heard good things for the most part."

A matching smirk ghosted across her lips. "Is that your way of telling me there will be a second date?" She wouldn't press the unanswered question. It wasn't that important that she just HAD to know. "A wizarding school in Africa, and Cairo WU." She didn't bother with naming the former school, because most around these parts didn't know of it. Plus they weren't giving out boring information, right? The name of her school wasn't exciting in Isa's eyes.

"I suppose, though really this is more like a picnic in the sky than it is actual flying." They were sitting on a blanket with the light meal, it just so happened to be a few hundred feet in the air. "Thank you." She accepted her cup and swished the drink around some. "Miss Raphael actually did a nice job setting up this date, when you look at it like that."

Dash shrugged. "Not really. He stared at her, tried to decipher if her not hearing a professor speak that way was a good thing. It most likely wasn't. Dash simply shifted, into a seated position. "Well I hardly think of myself as an average Professor." So that was a good excuse right? "Do you see yourself as an average person who saves lives?"

Was he proud of the fact that he went to Hogwarts? Not really. He did hold pride in the fact that he was a Syltherin so maybe he contradicted himself."That I am."

"Telling, asking. You're quick to pick that up." He took a sip of the wine before a smile spread across his face. So she had grown up in Africa? "I've heard that Cairo WU is a good place to study. I passed through Libya and Egypt a couple of years back and I heard that its actually top notch."

A picnic in the sky. Wow. It actually did sound poetic and even romantic. He couldn't even see anything wrong with that statement. "Not something I would have thought of, but you're right." He held out his cup. "Cheers to her." The crazy matchmaking broad had one great idea.

Isabis blinked at him, quickly realizing that he hadn't taken that how she thought he would. Though when internally reviewing her wording, well, it wasn't the best way to present a complement. "I didn't mean it that way. I meant that I like your honesty about your profession." She paused. "How honest you are in general." And no, she definitely did not see herself average in the healing world.

She didn't care to ask any follow-up questions about the Scottish school, mostly because it was enough to know that he went there and her small nod spoke that.

Smile widening at his words, her head tilted to the side as she considered him "That I am." And it didn't really matter which it was anyway. This date was becoming too enjoyable not to follow it up with a second. "Very top notch. I would recommend it to any one looking to further their studies in any field. And not just because I went there." Though, it did play a big part in her recommending.

"It is my job to think differently," How else would she find cures? Isa raised her glass and lightly toasted his. "Cheers to Miss Raphael." She took a sip of her drink and glanced over at their meal musingly. "So... where to start."
