Lower Floors From the entrance hall down to the depths of the dungeons, there is much to explore in the lower floors of this historic castle. Don't mind the rats you may stumble upon the further down you go, their minding their business like anyone else.

Default Laundry Room

Ever wonder where your dirty underpants wind up? Just down the corridor, not terribly far from the staircase to the kitchen, the door to the laundry room can be found. What you will find in this room will, likely, not be a surprise. Within are no Muggle washing machines or dryers. Instead, front and centre, are large tubs with accompanying wash boards and sticks. A bizarre system of clothes lines fill the back of the room, beside which tables and large hampers await.

If you happen to wind up here on your House's laundry day, you will see your clothes -- hopefully labelled -- and the clothes of your fellow housemates being washed and dried by a team of house-elves. It is not uncommon to hear them bickering with each other or joining together in a motivational song to help make the job get completed quicker. First the clothes are scrubbed squeaky clean with soap and steaming hot water. They are next hung to dry and then neatly stacked on one of the large tables to be folded and placed back in the hamper to be returned to their owners.

Students are always welcome to be proactive and do their own laundry or at least lend the house-elves a hand. There sure is a lot of laundry to do!

Clothes disaster coming through!

JT sprinted down stair after stair like a ghost was after him, praying to all the merlin's out there that no professor or prefect saw his weirdly tiger striped robes and decided to come investigate. Lesson learned don't ever play trick or spell with your best snake mates, and get a spell cast on you that goes sideways, and your robes turns into a rainbow colour mix.

Out of breath, JT skidded into the laundry room, and shut the door. He was safe, he had made it. There were no other students or professors in sight, just house elves and they weren't going to tell right? He closed his eyes for a moment to calm himself down. Now how could he clean his robes?

"You seem like you are up to no good" Greer stated matter of factly as she stood up to her full height after crotching down near a sink to try and get some grape jam out of her robes. "No one comes running here in like a banshee is after them if they aren't in trouble. Who you hiding from?" She was being rather bold if she was being honest, normally she would have just coward in the corner herself and prayed a house elf didn't get anywhere near her. They meant well, they did ... but yikes .. she shivered at the thought of the creatures getting close to her.
