Default Magical Forensics Lab

MAGICAL FORENSICS LAB
The forensics lab is packed full of cutting-edge magical equipment, all you will ever require for your analysis and testing needs. The workstations and chairs are charmed to be unbreakable and impervious to contamination; these enchantments are frequently reinforced. Around the lab are different areas for the various kinds of work that goes on in here; crime scene forensics, muggle artifact adjustments, potions-related work, counterfeit magic identification, even restoration.

Members of the Improper Use of Magic Office, especially those working in Counterfeit Magic and Charmed Artifact Identification, and the Magical Evidence and Retrieval Team will spend a lot of time in this room, as will Aurors who have undergone forensics training. If anyone from another department wishes to use the lab or any of the equipment inside, they must seek permission from the department head of Magical Law Enforcement, as well as from their own department head, and have their request signed off by the MERRT Supervisor.

At the far side of the lab is a door leading to the department darkroom. This is a restricted area. Do not enter when the light is on.

In the days following the breakfast event, Scottie had visited the forensics lab daily to look at the sample he had taken and SAFELY delivered to the lab on Level Two.

Did they have answers? Who knew. Scottie was good at this kind of stuff - the more science-y side of investigating - but he, Saul, and Arabella (nor any of the other unnamed IUMO officers) had been able to make headway as of yet.

But Scottie was curious.

Today, though, he had something else to drop off. A particularly nasty-looking unauthorized concoction taken from a crime-scene earlier that day that had resulted in the victim breaking out into reaaaaaally painful orange, blotchy spots. The spots had been warm to the touch, and Scottie was looking forward to digging in. It wasn't a recognizable potion, so it must be a weird...mixture of things. Which, no telling how to cure that, but luckily that wasn't his job. He had to just tell Mungo's WHAT the potion was made of, and he needed to do it fast, probably.

Pulling on a pair of gloves, he got to work.

If Ronan seemed a little more......tense than usual, it was only because he was anxious for this whole fountain thing cleared up (and before A&C could, to boot) so that all of his focus could again be spent towards catching Goldwasser. Not that he wasn't focused on that at all right now. No, he was worried that his multitasking might make him miss something important. That just wouldn't do.

It was with the fountain in mind that he stopped by the forensics lab that day. Surely IUMO would have found something by now, right? "Any word on that fountain sample?" he asked Scott, spotting him with a nasty-looking sample. Wait, was that from the fountain? Surely not.......
