Though still occasionally feeling some shaky feelings on returning to the land from Atlantis, Kingston had been taking it day by day with returning to his original natural state through these months. He had a lot to look forward to for one that helped along with his confidence in the usual work. Over his current assignments, he had been called to inspect and supervise multiple Floo Networks on a daily. The network seemed to be fine despite the calls which boggled his quarter-Giant mind.

Scratching out each location he had visited the day there was only a couple more left that his associates were already taking care of. Then pulling out the drawers at his desk to check old notes filed away.

Aurora walked into the work area after a long meeting with minister Hollingberry, and other heads which had left her with a slight headache and a sour mood. No, she still wasn't a fan of making magical carpets a standard means of transportation in the wiz world. Don't get her started on why they didn't need to upgrade the knight bus system. The blond department head was about to go lock herself inside her office and hope for some peace and quiet when she spotted Kingston over by his desk.

Aurora debated with herself before heading over to check on him. It was required of her, he was still getting back into things after coming back from Atlantis even if she didn't feel social. "Hello Kingston, how are you feeling? Are you settling back into work okay? No problems?"

Perhaps it was Kingston being quite ingrained in his work, looking for certain files or the once silence switched off from a friendly greeting. Taken back, Kingston whipped his head to the sound before relaxing his face into his usual grand big smile, "Oh, hello Aurora, you startled me for a sec there," Giggling slightly, "I'm doing better, feeling great now." He added in not to worry his boss. She had been quite patient and accepting of his out-of-character setbacks at the beginning of the year. He had come a long way since then to be more like his usual self, "Right now just looking for some old notes of mine as a refresher. Was looking over another house that claimed to have a broken floo but the location was still active." An easy solution, he just mentioned it since she had asked how he was settling.

Then asking. "How about you, everything alright?" Kingston was definitely not a mind reader but assumed she had his attention for another reason.

Aurora actually managed to startle him, that was a first. It wasn't anything she needed to read too much into she decided. Anyone could be jumpy if you didn't hear someone walk in behind them. Returning the smile with one of her own she replied "I'm glad to hear it Kingston. I was worried about your wellbeing when you were in Atlantis, and also after." Glad to change the topic Aurora asked "So why did the family claim that the floo was broken then?" Don't tell her that it had something to do with pidgeons.

"Yes, I'm fine. Being in a meeting with lots of stuffy old men who keep claiming that we should launch magical carpets as the new brooms always puts me in a mood." Aurora admitted to Kingston with a sigh. Brooms were brooms they would never be replaced in popularity by carpets.

"Ah, the beating heart of Magical Transportation!" Almer Toots exclaimed as he strolled through the department workspace, his hearty laugh echoing off the walls. While the department wasn't the largest or the most chaotic, it still buzzed with activity, from the rhythmic hum of enchanted communicators in the Wizarding Transit Services section to the faint glow of Floo Network monitors.

"A well-oiled department," his voice boomed as he continued popping his head into each division's cubicle area. "Very much like a magical car—it's not about how fast it goes but how well it gets you there."

Following a quick pitstop with the Magic Carpet Bureau and cheekily commenting how looming their responsibilities were, Almer then crossed to the south cubicles and greeted the Apparition Test Centre staff with his characteristic broad grin. "You lot have the toughest gig—testing young witches and wizards on their poise under pressure! Reminds me of my Knight Bus days: nothing says 'poise' like dodging a lamppost at the last second!"

"Speaking of modes of transport..." His eyes glossed over the group until they fell upon one of the more seasoned Apparition instructors and examiners. "Carson! Why don't wizards drive cars more often?" It took every fibre within him not to chuckle as he thought about the incoming punchline of the joke he had set up.
