Default Magical Games & Sports Information

Ministry of Magic, Level Seven

Magical Games & Sports

The Department of Magical Games and Sports is a department of the Ministry of Magic. It is charged with the regulation of all sport-related events in the Wizarding world. It is roughly the equivalent to the real-life British Department of Culture, Media and Sport. The International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy was signed in 1692, and it made each individual Ministry of Magic responsible for the consequences of all magical sports played within their countries. The Ministry started passing legislation pertaining to Quidditch in 1750 (including the first official set of rules of the game).

Level Seven Work Areas
In a very large area, you will find many cubicles filled with busy workers from the Quidditch, Gobstone, and Recreational Sports Divisions. These three divisions work in the same workspace but in different sections of the room.
Multi-Purpose Room
The room which had previously been the Ministry Employee Fitness Room had, seemingly overnight, been cleared out and refurbished. Where there had once been rows of treadmills, stationary bikes, and other high-tech, magic-powered exercise equipment, now there was space for a wider range of activities.

Conference Room
A spacious room awaits you for Level-wide and division-specific meetings. A long, polished wood table sits in the middle of the room, surrounded by comfortable chairs. The chic decor is enhanced by the several framed posters of Quidditch and Gobstones players alike hung on the walls, as well as a few wizarding chess and racing champions. If a meeting has been called, this is the place to assemble with plenty of elbow room for everyone.
The Office of Firash Grunt
When entering the department head's office, one is greeted with the fragrance of fresh cinnamon and a pleasant hint of spice. The chairs are aligned opposite with a small table in between them.
