| | Work Area and Cubicles The right-hand doorway from the lobby leads directly into the open floorplan where most Level One employees spend their time. The floor space is bright and airy with natural light (magically natural light, that is), and the furniture is simple and modern. Although the desks are clustered in groups, which leads to limited privacy, there are plenty of quiet places to hold a private conversation. Pull up some chairs in the conference room or the break room, if necessary, and if really pressed, muffling charms are encouraged. The desks are clustered by division to encourage cooperation and teamwork, so play nice!
Around the corner from the main work area, you will find the private "offices" which some senior employees have been assigned to for their day to day business. The offices are separated from the rest of the work area by larger, more formal partitions that are not easily moved. Some office spaces are shared between two or three employees, depending on the nature of their work, but these employees are still likely to travel back and forth to the main work areas with some regularity. Some of the other spaces here are empty and may be booked by employees who may need a more private place to work on sensitive tasks. The Junior Undersecretary's "office," or rather, large desk, private filing cabinet, and guest chairs with a partition surrounding them, can also be accessed from this section as well, should you need him.
The dark lower cabinets along either side of the room contain all of the work essentials such as spare parchment and quills, magical copier equipment, paperclips, a watercooler, and owl treats for the pesky memo carriers. Messages from the Minister and Senior Undersecretary can be found on the message board on the wall that runs behind the receptionist's desk.

| For Kristen Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna If there was one thing Noah had learned in his few years at the Ministry, it was his dad had been right. Sometimes the early hours of the morning were the best to be had in the building, with the limited presences of others that kept some of the hectic chaos at bay. Especially at times when the Minister wasn’t in early as well, and he wasn’t playing shadow in his role as personal assistant. Not that he would admit it to one Simon Bennett. That he was right that is. Noah’s mother would say that wouldn’t be a wise move.
Not that it didn’t mean he didn’t take that advice, bringing himself up to Level One with a hot beverage from the local shop since nothing was ready in the Ministry proper. AT least nothing palatable that wasn’t left over from the last of the previous night’s crew. The main work area quiet when it was usually bustling with people from various divisions and visiting departments later throughout the day. He might finally get some extra paperwork done, he thought to himself as he took a sip from his takeaway cup. HIs gaze passing over the message board for anything he might of missed previously.

Her work never really ended, but that was part of what Jemma enjoyed about her job. It was certainly different from what she’d done at the French Ministry, in certain ways. More responsibility, if anything, but she had known what to expect and she’d started to settle into things as they were here in Britain. The most amusing thing, in her own mind, was the fact she’d been away from France long enough that the faint accent she’d adapted to was starting to fade. She suspected her sister found that amusing as well, not that she’d asked, nor had she expected Julia to be awake as early as she had. Media never slept, after all.
She’d stopped at a café to get a cappuccino on her way in, as well as a small box of macarons she was disappointed to say weren’t quite as good as the ones she’d gotten when she had lived in France. They made do, and she’d already made a mental note to ask her aunt if she could ship her some from her bakery. That was something for a later date, however.
It was nice seeing the quietness of an early morning at the Ministry, if a bit unsettling. The bustle was second nature, and the brunette sent a nod to the lone coworker who had apparently chosen to arrive early as well, as she set the small stack of newspapers and magazines she’d been carrying on her desk along with the bakery box. “It’s a bit odd how quiet it is right now, isn’t it?”, she said conversationally, taking a sip from her cappuccino. Things would pick up, though. They always did.

Things would pick up, though. They always did. Noah turned from the board as a woman’s voice broke the relative silence. It’s tone instantly alerting him that at least it wasn’t a certain senior undersecretary that usual meant he needed to get down to business, “That it does,” he agreed with a nod. “Not sure if that’s a bad thing yet though.” Quiet can be the downtime of a never=ending cycle of ups and downs, but it could also be the calm before a storm. The personal assistant was hoping for the former just like he always did. However, as the son of an auror-turned security man as well as having been caught in the middle of the last war, he wasn’t exactly one who would deny the chance of the other. At least on some occasions.
Shaking his head absently to clear that grave image, he focused instead on his fellow early morning companion. “For now I guess we can enjoy it,” he mused moving closer. “Did you need help with anything?” He might be the minister’s personal assistant, but that didn’t mean he didn’t lend a hand where it was needed when he wasn’t otherwise occupied. And there was nothing immediately pressing.

And there was nothing immediately pressing. The thought that anyone else on this level would be quite as on edge as she imagined those on Level Two would be hadn’t occurred to Jemma until now. Not that she wasn’t aware of her current companion’s history, just as a matter of staying informed. It was infinitely easier to know how to deal with issues when one knew about the possible subjects. For now, though…things were quiet. “I apologize if I startled you in any way”, she began, just in case. “I’d rather look on it as a good thing, or at least a break before the next storm occurs.” Things were rarely quiet for long in the public relations world, after all. Scandals had a knack for occurring at inopportune times, and that was without magical means. She remembered the war as well, even if she’d been away from the bulk of the strife.
She had allowed him the moment, but nodded as he had moved closer. “I imagine so”, she replied, leaning against her desk before shaking her head. “Not much to handle at the moment. I just prefer staying on top of things.” She gestured slightly at the stack of media before acknowledging the bakery box as well. “You’re welcome to a macaron if you like, though.” She didn’t need them all.

| New Term : Open for anyone Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna So this was going to be a change of pace.
No longer was he to be the minister’s personal assistant but moved out from under administration for a new to him position within the advisory committee as a ministry ombudsman. New responsibilities...new tasks…new workspace. His pale eyes flickering briefly around the office as he tried to remember where that division was located before finally spotting the appropriate signage. And then back to his previous desk.
Yep, that would take getting used to.
Cup of coffee in hand and workbag slung across his shoulder, Noah made his way to the space. Thankfully there seemed to be an open spot that appeared claimable and he didn’t have to try to predict where he might be able to work. His decision to make it in early on the first day back bringing him to Level One before many others. It did help not having to worry too much about the added security his add had added to the Atrium for some reason the older Bennett wasn’t going to share.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Maddox Robicheaux Slytherin First Year Hogwarts RPG Name: Felicity Morose Hufflepuff Fourth Year | Sorry about the lateness!!! Claiming your post teehee The Gay Agenda™< >Homiesexual uwu Quinn shuffled into the work area a bit cautiously. They had also decided to get here fairly early today—half because of their want to make a good impression, half because of their anxiety over being late. They scanned around the work area, not seeing many other people besides themself. Okay. So maybe they were a little too early, even. They weren't even sure they had any official business to do right now. Was the Minister even in yet? They were already feeling embarrassed when they hadn't even had any confirmation that they should be.
Quinn made their way over to the desk that they presumed was theirs, but they didn't sit yet. Because what if this was someone else's desk that they were sitting at, and then they came up and asked them to get up? They'd look like they didn't know what they were doing. Which, granted, they didn't, but they didn't want it to seem that way. Quinn looked around and saw someone sitting at one of the desks a little further away. He didn't seem like he was doing much yet, so they came over cautiously. "Um. Excuse me, is that desk for the Minister's assistant..?" they asked quietly, pointing towards the desk. |

Noah had just sat down when heard the excuse me and looked up to see the young woman approach. Following her point back to his old desk, he nodded, before realizing she probably wanted a vocal response. “Yes, that would correct.” Which meant there was a good chance that the person before him would be the one taking over the tasks formerly on his work plate. His brain reminding him how he felt on his first day even with the familiar face of his pseudo grandfather as said minister and nudging him back up to his feet. “Hello, I’m Noah,” he greeted with a small yet polite smile. “Former personal assistant turned ombudsman.” In case even a fraction of the newcomer was concerned that he might pull their leg on the correct occupant of the desk.
