Creature Holding Room
|
Intern present and reporting for duty ! ^3^ Jillian Kim was excited that she got accepted for the summer internship in the ministry of magic. Her father would have wanted her to be part of the Level 1 but that's just him keeping an eye on her. She figured that this would be a great summer for her to do some 'adulting' now that she's sixteen. She loves magical creatures, of course she mainly grew up with dragons but nevertheless she enjoyed watching her father worked with them. Jillian knows that having to work here means dealing with all types of creatures and she has to be very cautious at that. They were mainly briefed about their tasks for this summer, the creature holding room is one of them. Actually, it is the biggest part of their task. Scared? A little bit. What if she is not familiar with the creature or one of them manages to get out of the room. That would be bad... like, reallllly bad. After tying her hair in a clean pony tail she grabbed herself a pair of gloves. She was going to feed them first and then clean them later, seems like an easy task. Her heart was beating fast. Yes, she is very nervous. A lot of scenarios playing in her thoughts. The worst one would be her accidentally releasing all the creatures in this room. Calm down... calm down... She takes a big deep breath. "You can do this, Jillian" she whispered to herself. And off she goes. |
Nefetari Rahal was stoked about the internship at the Ministry, because maybe now she'd be able to make some friends in this country. She had little interest in actually working for the Ministry once she graduated from Hogwarts, but was definitely well aware of the fact that the internship would like amazing on her university applications. Still feeling the need to dress professionally, even though she was nearly positive that working with creatures didn't require such attire and Ms Li wouldn't expect it, Tari had arrived as she had the past few times, in a conservative dress, stockings, low heels, her hair neatly tied back. She wondered idly if she would be allowed to use her animagus form to play with the other creatures, but decided she best not test that until much later into her internship. The English didn't appreciate animagi in the same way they did in Africa, especially for teenagers. "Morning Jillian," she greeted of her yearmate, setting her bag in her assigned place. "Ready for another day in the pasture?" Jokes. She had them. Sometimes. Not really. |
Once they had gotten the basics out of the way, Gunnar was eager to actually get to work and learn something from this internship. He fully expected it to be similar to his part time job at home last summer, and so far the thing they were expected to do were very similar. Except he could use magic. Not only was he Of Age, but he was not at a muggle animal shelter. No reason why he couldn't use magic as he needed it for some of the dirty work. "Good morning," he greeted both girls already present in the creature holding room. Gunnar quickly glanced at both of them just to see what tasks they were going to occupy themselves with, but he soon turned his eyes towards the cages of animals, intent on walking some of the dogs in the magical pasture. "So, who wants a walk today?" he asked the collective canines with a hint of a grin. All of them, he figured, but he could only do one... or maybe a few, at a time. The 17 year old chuckled as a few of the more energetic ones jumped against the front of their cages in anticipation as he neared closer to let someone out of their cage. |
you twoooo Jillian started with the fences near her. She remembered her first and second day cleaning, she was quite surprised that it was a lot easier, the creatures weren't as big nor untamed as she imagined it in her head. Miss Li, their supervisor was right when she briefed them that cleaning will be easy as long as they follow the protocols in this room. Fair enough. She's getting used to it by now but she still hates the smell. Yes, there is odor... of all kinds. She paused for a bit and set the cleaning supplies on the ground when she saw her 'co-workers' came in. Smiling and waving at her"Hi Tari." she did chuckle at her joke before handing her her own apron. "I hope you're ready" some of them are already hungry... reaaaallllyyyy hungry. "You're looking really nice today" Jillian added. tari always looked her best everyday. Gunnar came in next and Jillian greeted her prefect "Hello Gunnar" smiling at the seventh year Slytherin approaching them aaaand the dogs. Yaaay more helping hands. "After you walk the dogs, I can help out in giving them a bath...?" Yes, because they look so cute and fluffy. Even though they are a handful Jillian enjoys giving these little creatures a bath. |
Amid the barking of the dogs and the squawks of the birds, another sound filled the air. A rattling sound. A sound the interns were likely to pick up if they were paying any attention to their surroundings. Rattle rattle! The dogs weren’t the only ones eager to play... |
"Oh.. yeah, sure," Gunnar said vaguely to Jillian in response to her offering to help with baths, his eyes still on the dogs, trying to determine who to start with first. Or, you know, she could just give them baths herself since she was so keen. He had plenty of other work he could be doing with these animals. His eyes soon landed on the most boisterous of the dogs and he smiled a bit. "You look like you could use some tiring out." Perhaps it would be best to start with the most energetic ones as they not only seemed eager to be out of their cages, but then they might become more subdued for other tasks. And he went to retrieve a leash, pausing as he heard a rattling sound not seeming to be coming from the dog cages. He turned and gave a curious look to the girls. "Did you hear that?" |
Despite the discovery of the wand some time ago, he had yet to reveal to Alphonsine that he had found it. That he had on his person THE Wand of Power. The more he carried it in his enchanted breast pocket, the more reluctant he became to do so. Would it truly be so bad to keep them in the dark for a little longer? Even if Lucien were to come at him for 'failing' or taking too long...with this wand in his possession there was absolutely no way he would lose. He could, for once, be the leader of the Alliance and be the one calling the shots. Instead of the lackey. Instead of his careful planning and methodical thinking being used and all the credit and glory going to others. He could do it. He could. He just needed a little more time. Already with various blue prints formulating in his mind, Airey entered the creature holding room with his department head clearance and casually strolled around the space looking for just the right creature to practice on. One that no one would miss once the need to deliver a final blow manifested itself and one that he could harvest afterwards for parts. |
