Overlooking the small staircase on the upper level, not far from Splinter and Kreek's, you'll find Knockturn Alley's premiere establishment. Unless you have business here, you will find the door to this pub is almost always locked. If it does happen to open for you, you’ll walk inside the pub, which is dimly lit by lanterns that throw out an eerie orange light. You may feel a distinct creeping feeling up your spine and that isn’t unusual, maybe you should trust your instincts and go somewhere else? The floor in Moribund’s pub is made up of uneven slabs of stone, darkened by age and from the build up of all sorts of grime. The heavy door closes silently behind you as you enter.

In addition to the lanterns, a candlestick sits on each table. Only the candles on occupied tables are lit, though they barely provide enough illumination to see by. The bartender watches you closely, almost accusingly. Its obvious that not just anyone is welcome in Moribunds. They serve food here and it’s surprisingly good but hardly the reason most of the regulars frequent the pub. Children are not welcome in Moribunds; of age witches and wizards only.

You could always return to Knockturn Alley of course, and you might just end up flat on your bum in the street if you cross the wrong people.

Actually.....that was funny. Scottie was actually laughing. The return to an earlier joke...wow. Wow. His brother could be hilarious. He was slapping the bar-top. "Nice one, Logan. Nice." He nudged his twin and continued sipping his water, his stomach giving the loudest growl of all time O_O

Incompetent...maybe. Prat? Nah. "I mean....do they REALLY know you? Would they join you for coffee if you asked? Would they offer to help you out if you needed it? Would they...er, you know, bump a grade or two if you really needed it?" he asked softly. "Connections are important. We were BORN with two brilliant connections, Logan," their parents, "And...like...you can't blow it. Not that we should overuse it, but I mean like....we are set. We have everything we need to succeed...we have that privilege, you know? And you're completely squandering it," he shook his head and clicked his tongue.

Aaaaand it was time for another snort. "Right. "HOMEWORK". OKay." He put those words in air quotes. "It's time to get serious, Logan. If you ever want to be on our own and SUCCEED and stuff..." he gave him a shoulder pat. "And I'll have to tell dad I'm helping you else he'll wonder why you're coming round so much all the sudden. Plus..Emma has a big mouth," he shrugged. "Also....you can't let Emma graduate before you, mate." What a travesty that would be.

...seriously?! His smart-butt comment elicited a laugh from his homie, but not his ACTUAL jokes and pranks? "Wow, you're just laughing because YOU said it first," he pointed out, though Logan did chuckle a few times too. Mostly because he felt like it was rare to get Scott to laugh, and here he was, hitting the bar and everything. Heh. It pleased Logan a little.

But then all the questions continued. Logan took in a small breath through his nose and let it out through his mouth, exhaling like a dragon (or so he pictured himself in his head). "Noooooooooo," he answered reluctantly, feeling tempted to put his head down on his arms. Geez, his brother really thought about all this stuff all the time?? He thought just nerds befriended the faculty at uni.... was Scottie really that nerdy?? Did he EVER make time just to chat up a girl or hang out on campus without cramming every second of every day?! Logan was tuning his brother out as he tried to think of a way of avoiding him already.

He didn't appreciate the sarcasm, and showed it by succumbing to the temptation to put his head on his arms, and then on the bar, where actually slammed his head a few times. "You don't have to tell Dad," he mumbled from under his arms now. "Just--- and don't tell Emma either, come to think of it. We can meet at the uni. I don't have to go home for tutoring."

See, Logan hated lectures like this. Scottie was sounding exactly like their father right now, who would probably have even worse words for him if they talked about tutoring Logan at home. Logan actually hated all lectures, and study sessions, and note-taking, and similar school activities... the only reason he'd even GONE to uni was because everyone else in the family did. "I shoulda just applied to the YATI program straight outta Hogwarts....." he muttered some more, forgetting that this wasn't something one should be discussing in Knockturn Alley.... and also forgetting that his grades hadn't been up to scratch back then either.

It SHOULD bloody well please Logan that he was laughing because it WAS rare. Maybe he was feeling less mad, too. Maybe not. It wouldn't be long before Logan did something else to majorly tick him off, though.

And there he went being dramatic. Honestly, Logan had nerve calling Scottie dramatic if he was going to be hitting his forehead against the bar just because Scottie was lecturing him. ~~And no, Logan, Scottie didn't have TIME to flirt with girls or "chill" ok???~~. Ahem. "All right. Uni it is. You should rent out a private study room so no one else has to witness me throwing my notebooks and pencils at you." Which was very likely considering how easily bored Logan got while studying. There would probably be a LOT of whining on his twin's end, and Scottie would be in noooo mood to deal with that.

Oh really? Scottie laughed. "You wouldn't have been prepared. I should have done that, honestly, but I'm not sure I want to be an auror, really......" He didn't know that he had the stomach for it. "I wouldn't mind another job in the MLE...but I don't have the desire to be a hit wizard like Emma." Which was all she talked about recently. "You...you still want to be an auror, then?" he asked curiously.

Look, Logan wasn't the dramatic twin. Everyone knew that was Scott, with his lectures and his morals and his sensitive skin and his likes/dislikes and fears of bugs/women/being wrong.

"Yes, muuuuuuuuuum," he droned, head still on the bar as their food was delivered around him. Again his brother was laughing at him and he did NOT appreciate it. Logan's wand hand twitched as he thought STRONGLY of casting a silencio toward his brother. "You should be on the Wizengamot, since you like talking at people so much." He scoffed to himself, half-amused by this comment, and picked his head up finally. The smell of his fish and chips had gotten to him, so he pulled his plate toward him and tucked in right away.

"Yeah, mate, just... don't shout that here." He looked around them surreptitiously. There was no sign of trouble, but still. "It's the best job. Got all the action, you get the ladies..." he trailed off as his stuffed his mouth with chips.

Scottie would CONTEST that opinion to the extreme because to him, the dramatic one was Logan. HE WAS THE ONE WITH HIS HEAD ON THE FLIPPIN BAR.

"I'm glad I'm not your mum," he mumbled as his bangers and mash arrived, grabbing a ~~cruddy~~ fork and stabbing his lamb sausage aggressively. "I actually wouldn't mind that at all," he shrugged. "Just gotta' make my way up there first." Hmph. "And if I talk so much and it IRKS you that much, then you can always find another tutor," more annoyed mumbling from Scottie here.

LADIES? "What about like..helping those in trouble? I don't want action...any kind of action," he met his brother's gaze. "That isn't important to me. Career first. Social life later." He just couldn't disappoint his dad. His entire LIFE....had led up to him joining the MLE. "Is that the only reason you wanna' join...them? Because of the ladies and the...action? Because if so, you might as well give up that dream now. They'll deny you a position the instant you apply," he shrugged, biting into a sausage more fiercely than necessary.

Back to the annoying brother. "Course you'd pick the MOST BORING field, besides being a librarian," Logan muttered, mostly to himself and his fish, since he was eying it and not Scottie at the moment. "NO NO," he said louder for emphasis. "No no, my good bro," now he fake-smiled at him and wiggled a greasy finger his way, "you're not getting out of it THAT easily. YOU are my tutor of choice. You're stuck with me." Annnnd cue a grin that definitely had some fish stuck in it.

Heh heh heh. Logan raised an eyebrow at Scott's careful answer. "You don't have to be afraid of action, Scottie. The ladies move a lot slower than bugs, trust me. AND they don't sting ya or poison ya or whatever." Er, usually, anyway. He blinked and tapped some malt vinegar onto his chips. "Why d'you always wanna lecture me, man? They won't turn down a warm body in that department, that's what Dad always says." He smirked to himself and then added a fat plop of ketchup onto the chips too. "I mean, yeaaaaaaaaah, it would be pretty cool to get into duels and round up Azaban escapees or whatever the heck they're doing these days."

See, he wasn't all ignorant. He'd scanned the headlines of the Daily Prophet as he'd stepped on it on his way out of his flat.

Scottie scoffed. "I would never be a librarian. I may not like ALL the action, but I do like SOME of it," he tutted. Sitting behind a desk with only books for company seemed lonely and isolated even for him. "I like being focused on a task and a job...librarians just...watch over books all day," he gave a flippant wave of his hand to show what he thought of that. He was a FERGUSON...even if the WIMPIEST ONE according to Logan.

Blegh, fine. Scottie ate another large piece of sausage. "Fineeee fine fine fine," he said as he rolled his eyes. "But don't be late and DON'T waste my time, Logan. Or I'm not gonna continue tutoring you," he lay out the ground rules then and there!

A warm body?! "I would hope you want to be more than a body to fill a space, bruv," honestly. Wes may have said that, but Scottie was sure he didn't think his son would take it that way. "Yeah - you saw that? Crazy. Can you imagine???? I wonder where all those blokes went...." he scanned their surrounding area almost suspiciously.

"Well well," Logan side-eyed his brother yet again. "Looks like we are related after all, huh?" He grinned to himself and tossed a ketchup-laden chip in his mouth, half-missing his own mouth with the fry and getting ketchup all around his face. Yeah, they could both agree about librarians being boring as heck. The female ones could be hot, though. He contemplated this as he stuck his tongue out to lick the ketchup off his lips.

GEEZ, would the nagging EVER END. "OKAY," Logan bellowed, having had ENOUGH of Scott's lectures before they'd even started the real academic lectures. He got control of his anger by shoving more food in his mouth. He knew he was on the brink of saying something worse, something that really WOULD cause Scottie to rescind their deal, or worse, move continents again. "I get it. Okay?! You don't have to keep harpin' on me. I'll be a good little student, on time, with paper and pens and a room reserved at the library." OkAy?! He rolled his eyes HARD.

Still grumbling into his meal, Logan shook his head. "Whatever." He didn't care enough about himself OR others to retort. "Yeah," he also glanced around while he stabbed a fork into his food, since it was crumbling already anyway. "Hopefully they went back to Azkaban, duhhhhh." Duh bruv.

"Well, we did share an egg." Technically. "So I think it's safe to say we're related," he replied dryly. The jokes about him being not as "related" to the rest of the family were plenty old by now, and Scottie was tired of them, frankly.

Watching his brother eat was majorly affecting his own ability to eat. "No wonder you don't have a girlfriend, you sloppy mess," he handed his brother a NAPKIN so he could...like, groom himself. "Unless you do, and you're just not telling me," he shrugged. That wouldn't surprised him. Not that Scottie would be skipping to tell Logan about any romantic relationships he may encounter in the coming months...or years.

The way Logan said OKAY made Scottie grow quiet. He had pushed too much, irritated him, and now he was all SNIPPY. Scottie just nodded as he continued eating. His mashed potatoes were too watery, but whatever. They were also a tad salty, too...so....he was sticking to mostly the sausages. His brain naturally traveled back in time to a mere HOUR ago when he was scared witless about the wasp, and he sighed. It was really bothering him, his brother's prank. Why had he offered to help him again? Oh, because he was a good brother?

Right.

He accepted the napkin and lazily wiped at his mouth, pretty much done inhaling his food for now as he started picking at it with his fork. "I have many girlfriends, Scottie." Logan chuckled confidently as he said this, even though he knew it wasn't ....er, really true. Maybe there was a little (or more than a little emphasis) on the friend part of girlfriends when he said that. "You want me to loan you a chick or two?"

Har har. C'mon, NOW his brother was being quiet? Or was Logan in for another lecture for implying that women could be traded like a commodity. He thought about clarifying that he was joking, but nah. He didn't explain himself. Ever.

...Ignoring the sarcasm. It had been like, way too much time with his brother now. He was ready to LEAVE. But then having that thought made him feel guilty because clearly Logan had been hurt by his lack of communication and - and - his brain kept ON and ON, and he just wished he didn't overthink everything. He also wished his brother didn't utterly exhaust him.

"Do you now?" he asked skeptically, the cocked eyebrow enough to show his extreme doubt at the fact. "And what are their names - or are you too much of a prat to care about that?" his tone was unamused. He then LAUGHED. "A. I don't want any girl who would be interested in you. Don't you think that'd be weird? And B. BURROW A WOMAN? That's awful. Mum would be disappointed, yeah - " he scoffed as he wrangled another sausage onto his fork. Those slippery blighters!

AND BACK TO BEING QUIET. HMPH. He was almost done his food, though, and he used the time to politely dab at his own lips politely. Honestly, had Logan been raised in the barns at school? Because he acted like it sometimes. "With a sister...a younger one, too, I'd think you're be a bit more respectful." Part of him knew his brother only put on airs to look impressive to Scottie, but he did like giving his brother a hard time for the heck of it.

Wow, Scott. If Logan were really as sensitive as his twin, he'd be the one moping and overthinking and getting butthurt about being called a prat. But he knew he was one, so he just smirked and pushed his plate away from him. Everything seemed soggy now. He also rubbed a napkin around his mouth one last, rough time before dumping it on the plate too.

"So there's Charity at the coffee shop; Gaffney, whom I met wakeboarding on the Thames; Angel, who really has a halo, honest, even you might like her; and Scissors, but I won't explain THAT nickname. Ah, can't forget Tuesdays with Laurie, since that's the only day SHE's available, and Wednesday Addams, my Underground friend...." he ticked off the names on one hand until he ran out of fingers and caught that LOOK from his brother. "I mean, I give them nicknames, of course, once we get along, but I don't date them all at once. I DO have standards, believe it or not."

Now he wasn't one to be easily offended, but he was one to stretch the truth sometimes. And even Logan could laugh at the insult from Scott. Yeah, right. They were identical twins. Any woman who would be interested in him would AT LEAST find Scott's appearance tolerable, though once he opened his mouth they'd probably be annoyed enough to walk away. Just like that woman earlier; Rose, was it? "I AM being respectful, bruh. I always pay, don't I?" Speaking of, he dug an extra galleon out of his pocket and set it beside his plate for a lazy tip. See? What a lad.

"Anyway, like I was saying, I could set you up with someone. Not someone I was still interested in, but... I have lots of friends!" Honest, he'd do his bro a solid in return for all the free tutoring he was about to get.

Scottie procured a couple pf coins for a tip as well, feeling badly for their....general attitude they exhibited this whole time. The poor patrons of this....fine establishment didn't need to hear all their drama.

..."Tuesdays with Laurie? Nice one, bro," he rolled his eyes, never figuring his brother for a well-read guy, but maybe he was wrong about that. "Nicknames? Really? For every single one? I don't think I've known any girl well enough to give her a nickname..." if you didn't count their sister. "Maybe I'd better just to stick to the women I'll meet through work," he shrugged. "Or Emma's friends." If she had any age appropriate. "And now, paying for a woman doesn't mean you're always respectful," he clicked his tongue.

Anyways.

"Are we about ready to wrap up, then?"

Just because he met (or would meet) women didn't mean he knew how to speak to them. Scott really should take Logan up on his offer to help. "Right, now I know you're lonely, but I would leave Emma's friends alone." Just a bit of advice. "You don't know what you're getting yourself into there." A basket of cats, as Logan thought of Emma's friends, and not just because a few of them had rejected him already. He had his reasons.

He slid off his stool since it appeared his brother was done with him, and also checked his watch, because, er..... "Yeah I have class." Or, rather, HAD class. He HAD had a class he was supposed to attend, but it was almost over now. Oh well. He WOULD be on time for the next one starting at four.

Logan had always been a smooth talker while they were at Hogwarts. It's what kept him from being thrown out half the time!

"Well, now you've piqued my interest..." Though this particular alley was an interesting choice as a meeting place, if the man was worried about dodgy characters. Surely the vineyards, or Noble's house in Oxfordshire would have been the most private choice. Still, Noble had learnt long ago not to question the herbologist's logic too much, there generally being some method amongst the madness, and so he'd soon crossed the street, and pushed open the door to the pub.

"What're you drinking?" he asked, heading directly towards the bar and retrieving his wallet from his robes.

The white-haired man pushed his glasses further up his nose as he took a seat at the bar and waved over the barkeep. "I remember my first few years after leaving Hogwarts...it was....freeing, but some days the freedom felt torturous. The structure of a school day is what kept me on track sometimes. It was a very rare occasion when Eddie Blaze was seen around alleys, but if any alley he would show his face in these days it was Knocturn-alley. He had some business to take care of and a few payments that needed paid, but taking a side trip he was meeting his brother to talk over a few things and he thought this could be a good middle point instead of going back to the house.

Even though he was one of the younger family members, he had risen to one of the top Blaze members since his dad's disownment and uncle's death. Now with the whispers and notices Eddie felt a new kind of excitement was ahead.

Instead, he headed straight for the bar to order a couple firewhiskeys for them both before taking them over to their table. He was in pretty good spirits as of late. He could sense the change in the air for the better, just in the attitudes of those he'd been interacting with lately and the barely hushed whispers around society. Good things were coming, and it was about time.

He carried both drinks over to the table and slid one across to his brother before taking the seat across from him. "Thought you could use a drink," he said in a manner of greeting him as he smirked like the cat who just ate the canary.

There were whispers that she was in the country. So, naturally, a message had been sent, which was his way of putting into the universe an invitation for a casual get-together. It was only proper after all, especially for someone he knew well enough. Whether or not his invitation had been accepted was to be determined.

A day's work at an improved Ministry now over, Dante made his way to Knockturn Alley. He avoided making eye contact with anyone he passed, determined to get to where he wanted to be on time. It had been quite some time since he had last been to the pub, but it pleased him to see, especially after walking inside the establishment, that nothing seemed to have changed. It was as if no time had passed at all, which the man knew wasn't the case at all. The world outside was quickly changing.

He ordered two drinks to celebrate that. One was a firewhisky for him, the other was something he recalled seeing the woman drink in the past. Her appearance was something he anticipated and was actually looking forward to. If she didn't show in the end, he at the very least had a second drink to help himself to before leaving his old spot in the pub (not very far away from the two gentlemen who were already there) for the manor.

It had been years since she had set foot in England, but one thing Milena Désirée Villeneuve prided herself on being was where the action was. While there were obvious rumblings back home in France, and, she assumed around the world just by the very nature of the rumors she’d heard. Some of which she’d been all to happy to pass on, but the other thing Mila prided herself on was knowing where the most advantageous location to be was. And that was obviously England, as it appeared to be the epicenter of all the rumblings.

Although the message from Zabini not long after she had arrived had rather come as a surprise, it hadn’t broken her stride as she’d made her way into Knockturn Alley rather fashionably late. She preferred to run on her own time schedule, after all, and it wasn’t hard to recognize him once she’d stepped into the pub. “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting,” she said lightly as she sat across from him and lifted the glass to her lips.

As he waited, the only thing he engaged in was the firewhisky in his hand. Even so, his ears were open to any conversation that may have occurred nearby as well as any movement, and he was keeping an eye on his surroundings with his peripheral vision. It was not uncommon for Dante to exuding such behaviour; he learned throughout the years that one could gain a lot from just listening and watching.

Half of his drink was gone by the time she stepped into the pub. A smile grew on his lips as he listened to her footsteps and watched as she took the seat across from him and wasted no time bringing the glass to her mouth. Some things just never changed, even in an ever-changing world.

"Not in the slightest. I expected that, if you did show up, you would be fashionably late. After all, you do move to the beat of your own drum, Mila," he responded back to her. Though his words rang true, he was taking the opportunity to tease her just a little. "I take it you've graced Britain with your presence because of the whispers going around?" She certainly wasn't here for the weather.

He had seen his brother come into the pub, but he knew he was coming so Eddie kept his attention to the things in front of him and an eye on his surroundings. He didn't trust anyone and even more so now that him and Farah were no longer together. If he was honest he wasn't exactly over it even after some time, but he wouldn't be honest and he would just ignore those emotions that he felt pointless to have.

HIs eyes lifting when his younger brother sat down he took the drink, "Always could use a drink these days, but possibly a drink of celebration
for things to come." The rumors were getting stronger and the more things to come out from the minister it was obvious to Eddie things were in motion.

"I assume you've had a successful day so far." He on the other hand had one slip away and that was what sat in front of him.
