SPOILER!!: Noémi Durand SPOILER!!: Delphine Trimble SPOILER!!: Hope Hamilton OOC note - Please note that this RP takes place just slightly ahead of the current IC TL (Sept 2098). And anyone is still welcome to join or jump in; simply post a bio and play! You can assume that your student or healer has been called to this meeting and would likely be at least familiar with Delphine. Making sure everything was ready in the hospital conference room exactly thirty minutes before the meeting was scheduled to begin, Ms. Delphine Trimble adjusted the name tag on her robes. She was often conflicted about which title to use when she came in for the student healer supervising meetings as she was both Healer and Professor. The students normally called her Professor at the university, but she was also a licensed healer for many years and she appreciated the title of Healer as well, especially when she was in a hospital setting. It didn't matter so much though, and she would answer to either, but for the record her name tag read Healer Delphine Trimble. She set out some basic refreshments along with paperwork at each seat and nametags at one end of the table before waiting for the first to arrive. This meeting was simply protocol for the incoming pre-healer students who would be shadowing, observing, and/or interning for the term, as well as introducing them to some of the resident healers they would be watching and working under in the different departments. And she had specific reasons for requesting the ones she did for the program. She might have been just a bit early and the first one to arrive, but that was because Noémi was very excited to begin this part of educational journey. Studying at the university level had already been so invigorating and challenging, and she was ready to put some of that knowledge into practice - even if she knew she'd only be observing and shadowing one of the healers this semester. But she was certain that it would be a fascinating and fruitful learning experience. "Good morning, Professor Trimble," she greeted the woman, a cheerful smile already in place. Quickly, she found her nametag and put it on before finding a seat at the table with some paperwork in front of her. Very eager to get started, she read over some of the program guidelines while she waited for the others to arrive. |
Observing had never been the way she learned, not when it was the sole means of gaining knowledge...but the former Ravenclaw turned pre-healer studies student could appreciate that she was only now finishing up her first year and most wouldn't be keen on letting her do real life operations. Inconvenient but understandable. At home, she had her own corpse to tinker with, here she could settle for shadowing and hoping no one else became one. Didn't need that guilt by association, thanks. Jessa entered the room, clipboard and notes clutched against her chest. She'd reviewed the program guidelines several times, adding to her collection of notes with each new look over. It was something she'd been looking forward to as the semester drew to a close. Practical experience...as practical as they would be allowed to get anyway. "Morning." She muttered to the Professor...er....Healer....um....Professor....bef ore sinking into the seat by Noemi. Uncomfortable? Only a Manageable was the most she could ask for. Manageable was okay. "Noémi." Not at all said unkindly. The discomfort she felt around the girl had nothing to do with animosity. It was a genuine discomfort borne of chagrin, guilt and an ignorance on how to begin to resolve it. Could they get moving? She wouldn't be able to sit here for long. The fidgeting she began with the edges of her clipped papers was perhaps the easiest giveaway of that. |
Ryden, on principle, was not happy to be here. This in itself was not a surprise, Ryden generally disliked being in most places that aren't her own office, but this was an exceptionally foul day. There were potion supplies to be indexed, QA reports to read over, She wasn't happy about this whole program either, but she'd much rather all the young Healers-to-be get to know her now than in the future when she really wouldn't have time to babysit them and their potion needs. Walking in with a steaming cup of coffee already in her hand, Ryden Renaldi took a seat and surveyed the room. "Good morning." Being polite was the number one way to get into her good graces, and Ryden certainly believed in leading by example. |
This sort of meeting was old hat to Apollo by now, after all he had been an intern in the Emergency room for several months now and now he was starting a new term! He was just grateful that so far he was able to hold onto the internship and try to finish the last two years of his schooling in one year. He had taken several classes over the summer and passed them all, so he was hopeful for this new term at school. He was normally exhausted, he didn’t have time for much sleep lately, so the large cup of coffee in his hand was rather normal for him. “Good morning Professor Trimble. ” He said as he walked in the room and then smiled softly as his grey eyes landed on a friend of his. “Hello Noémi, nice to see you here. ” He settled his lanky frame next to her before looking around her at the girl seated next to her. “Hello. ” He said kindly, she looked vaguely familiar but he wasn’t sure who exactly she was. |
Jimmy wasn't at all surprised to be called to this meeting. Professor Trimble had been one of his professors at university, and he had JUST graduated with flying colors a few months prior. Naturally, his talent would get him invited to all sorts of fun opportunities. It was only a matter of time. He was a GREAT advocate for the healing program in that regard. With a wide grin, the young man entered the room and smiled at his former mentor. "Hello Professor Trimble," he greeted her, carrying his to-go cup of coffee with him. He sat down near the front and took a sip, nodding in turn to everyone else who had gathered there. He recognized most people by face at least - he was still learning names, though. He HAD only been there a few months as an official employee of the hospital, after alL! |
It hadn’t truly been that long since he had graduated, so the summons to the meeting had been rather startling for Elle. Although she’d taken her time in getting to the conference room merely because she’d needed to ensure that her whereabouts would be known if an emergency came in. Obviously it paid to be prepared for anything, and even several years after Hogwarts and the portal incident, she was ware of exactly how chaotic things could get on a moment’s notice. She wasn’t about to disappear without leaving word, even if it was likely the entire hospital knew about this meeting. Besides, she was curious if emergencies was going to get any other interns. More hands would be welcome, absolutely. The issue as to form of address wasn’t missed on the blonde, either, considering she had dealt with Ms. Trimble on both sides of the matter. “Good morning,” she addressed those gathered in the room before her, simply and delicately balanced as the files in her hand that she’d received on her roundabout way into the meeting. Settling into a seat not far from Healer Rinaldi so as to be ready to jump up if necessary, she put the nametag on as a matter of course before perusing the paperwork at her seat. |
It was a pretty day in the corridors to find flies. Summer aka Flytrap was on the lookout as she walked the corridor of St. Mungos. She usually wasn't one to be able to out of her room without someone walking with her, but she slipped out of bed and moved alone as quiet as her plant self could. She would freeze as someone came past because no one should know that somehow her plant legs grew and she could move around. Not knowing what kind of magic allowed her to walk on her roots, she didn't ask questions just went into action. She was hungry and the plant food the hospital gave her was nothing compared to flies that she wanted. Seeing an open door she moved into it, but froze seeing a bunch of people. No, there wouldn't be any flies where there were people, but she couldn't let them know she could walk on her roots either. They would try to plant her back in that soft pot. So she pushed herself against the wall and went very still. |
Text Cut: Jessa Noémi looked up from her review of the program details as the next person to arrive was a very familiar one and she gave her a tentative smile. It was of no surprise to her that Jessa would be here today as they were both studying healing and she had seen her name on the notice. It was just funny how the universe seemed to demand that they continue to cross paths. "Hello, Jessa," she returned the greeting softly, and watched her briefly out of the corner of her eye. She could sense the other girl's discomfort and could see her fidgeting, and, true to Noémi's nature, she internalized this and decided it was because Jessa still had issues with her. Turning her eyes back to her paperwork, she decided it best to occupy herself with that until they began. Text Cut: Ryden "Good morning, Ms. Renaldi," she returned the greeting with a welcoming smile, pleased to see that she was prompt. Text Cut: Apollo "Hi, Apollo." Smiling brightly, Noémi returned his greeting in a hushed voice, feeling like she was back in class or something. But that was ridiculous honestly, and she knew that she could talk. She did want to remain professional and appear attentive though. This was a big deal for her. Maybe she'd have a chance to talk to him at some point about his experiences last year. Text Cut: Jimmy Text Cut: Elle Text Cut: Summer What was...? "Can I help you, young lady?" Delphine asked her a bit curtly. "We're in the middle of a meeting..." Well, beginning of one, but important nonetheless. Perhaps she was a patient though. "Is she a ward of anyone here?" She asked, glancing at the staff members here. Perhaps they needed to escort her back to her room before they got started. Just as Delphine opened her mouth to begin, a loud crack of thunder from the sudden storm outside reverberated through the room and the lights flickered briefly. Strange, she thought, as she glanced upward. Weather didn't normally interfere with the lighting charms. But perhaps it was just an odd coincidence as they seemed to be working fine now. Okay. "Welcome, everyone," she smiled brightly at the occupants of the room. "To another term for our practical learning experience for our future healers. For many of you, this is familiar territory as you've either been through the program or have helped mentor those in training. But for some of you, this will be new, though a very valuable step on your journey to becoming a skilled healer. And for all of you, I expect this will be quite rewarding no matter what your part in the program is." “This year,” she continued. “We’ll be doing things a little differently. This year our observing students and our interning students will be rotating within different departments of the hospital rather than focusing on one. We’re hoping to incur more well-rounded healers to be prepared for anything.” That was important for healers even when they did focus on a specialty. “I’ll give you all a little time to get to know each other now.” It was fine with her if this part was casual as they could eat a little and converse a little, getting to know who the students were and who their mentors would be over the next few months. “Your specific assignments are listed in the paperwork…. And then we can discuss specifics if anyone has any questions.” Just as Ms. Trimble was finished speaking another crack of thunder was heard and the lights went out completely, leaving the occupants of the meeting room in complete darkness. Not for long though! It might have felt like longer if one was afraid of the dark, but it was only a mere few seconds that the room was without light. Though once the lights came back on, Delphine Trimble was nowhere to be found. Someone else was there, coincidence or not, as a young girl, small for her age, stood in the doorway, staring silently at the adults around the table. |
Jessa watched silently as others entered the room. She didn’t know them and had no particular interest in knowing them outside of whatever the program required. There were several reasons her end goal was forensic pathology. The living, interacting with them, was not one of them. She offered the faintest smile to the boy (Apollo) who took the seat by her and Noémi. It was a gesture borne of politeness rather than any real interest in being welcoming or open to his existence. That was how she operated, polite but detached. Distance was always a good thing to have. Seeing no real reason to pay the trend forward, Jessa remained silent through the entries and subsequent greetings of the others, her fingers picking away at the edge of her clipboard the entire time. Being on high alert like she was, she noticed immediately the entrance of a woman who looked to have no business in the meeting. Was she her ward? Quite obviously not and she knew the Professor was aware of this as well leaving no reason for a response. She did wait to see if anyone else claimed her but the sudden flickering of the lights coupled with the thunder got her heavily distracted. It was no longer the woman she cared about but the exit and how far she was from it. Resolved to focus, Jessa turned her attention once again to the Professor, scowling somewhat at the suggestion they mingle and get acquainted. No thanks. Questions though, she had a few of those and was about to rise to make her way over to the woman when the lights were suddenly completely gone. Without thinking, Jessa immediately grabbed hold of Noémi’s arm, squeezing harder than she ever intended to. It wasn’t the dark on its own that got her but compounding factors. Her grip only loosened (and not by much) when the lights came back on. It loosened further as curiosity swept to the forefront, spurred on by the disappearing Professor and the appearance of a little girl. She had even more questions now. “Does she belong to anyone?” |
None of the words being spoken to the fly trap were even registering with the young girl's thoughts. She had become great at tuning out the healers around this place and she didn't really think they were speaking to her since many didn't realize a plant could understand what they were saying. She did find it entertaining that it seemed as if many were talking to her though, all the time around here, asking her if she was alright, telling her she wasn't a plant, how silly that was though, clearly they could see she was a plant. That was why she knew they couldn't be speaking to her. She kept still against the wall even though the woman seemed to have asked her a question. Only her eyes were moving to find something good to snack on. When the lights flickered she jumped but didn't make a sound. Once they were back on she had moved just a few inches closer to the table and closer to the people in the seats. The second time the lights when out she let her arms move to feel around grabbing onto someone's hair. |
She was already rather startled by the sudden darkness of the room when the lights went out, but Noémi gasped loudly when she felt a hand grasp her arm tightly. The nineteen year old was visibly relieved, however, when the lights quickly came back on and she saw that it was Jessa's hand encircling her arm. She let her own hand rest lightly on her former roommate's hand, trying to offer a small amount of comfort. And it was then that her eyes fell on the spot that Professor Trimble once stood only a moment ago, noticing that she was now gone. "Where... where did she go?" she softly asked the room at large once a cursory glance of the room did not locate the older woman. How strange. But she wasn't sure she should be so alarmed. Perhaps she just went to check the room's charms or there had been something out in the corridor that demanded her attention. But she also felt as if she was trying to justify her disappearance, especially when she did not return in the following minutes. Noémi took note of the young girl as Jessa directed her attention to her. "Are you lost?" she asked of her, though the girl simply continued to stare at them without answering. She looked from her to the other woman that had been against the wall moments earlier. Neither of them seemed like they belonged in here. Unsure of what to do exactly, she looked around at the professionals in the room before looking back at Jessa. "Do you think we should look for Professor Trimble?" Or maybe wait for her? She wasn't sure they really could proceed without her... or maybe that was exactly what they were meant to do. |
The lack of any immediate responses to her question had her thinking that the child, much like the stationary woman by the wall, belonged to no one currently in the room. Her first instinct was to assume this meant they were fair game but the young woman quickly pushed the thought away. This was an actual hospital with actual lives and well beings at stake. It wasn’t WU. These weren’t test subjects to further their education and malpractice suits would be equally real. Jessa turned at Noémi’s question. It seemed the most logical way forward in the wake of the disappearing Professor. “We’ll have to, she hasn’t given us our instructions for the day. I’d rather not aimlessly roam Mungo’s hoping to find my purpose.” She’d just end up in the morgue at that rate and without written permission, there was no guarantee they’d let her stay. “We may as well return these two while we’re at it. If we leave them wandering too they may hurt themselves or others.” The most difficult part would be figuring out where they belonged but asking a few questions here and there would clear that up. “You get the woman and I’ll take the kid?” Not a suggestion they split up but rather that they assume some small amount of responsibility for either—until they handed them over to the appropriate wing that is. Would the others be coming too? Most were no longer students and could easily get back to work. Must’ve been nice. |
Noémi knew Jessa was right. Even though they could easily shadow one of the professionals present in this room, they really ought to get their assignments from Trimble herself. And it was honestly disconcerting to her how their professor just disappeared like that. It would make her feel better if they could find her or find out what happened to her. She was sure there was a simple explanation. And since no one had claimed either of the two who didn't appear to belong in the room, she decided to go along with Jessa's plan. "Alright. But perhaps it would be best to stick together." She could certainly take responsibility for the older of the two assumed patients, but she'd prefer not to wander around either, especially when it seemed that something strange was happening. "Miss?" she began as she approached the woman (Summer/Venus) and held out a tentative hand. "Would you come with me? Let's get you back to where you belong." Noémi offered her a soft, disarming smile along with her attempt at a soothing voice. Hope continued to stare at the two teenage girls as they spoke to one another and appeared to try to figure out what was going on. She might not speak, but she was very observant and she could understand what they were implying. Unfortunately, she had her own ideas and wasn't planning on sticking around or being escorted anywhere. While the one girl was busy tending to the woman, Hope promptly turned around and stepped out into the corridor. |
