Lucky: The Story of Reagan & Christopher

Overview:
Christopher and Reagan happened to have briefly saw each other they were quite younger. However, she does not remember this and thought that the first time she met her older brother's friend was during Koen's wedding. Christopher and Reagan, much like her own parents, did not get off on the right foot with their first interaction.

Characters:

Christopher Michael Carter (Kolyander)
Reagan Aurora Anders (FearlessLeader19)

SPOILER!!: List of Scenes

FearlessLeader19 10-01-2022 02:46 PM

Scene 3:
The summer play of 2108 has now come to an end and the cast had a meet & greet with the audience.

Another successful play down! This also meant this was another bit of experience that could be added to her ever growing list of acting accolades. Her future was looking bright, exactly as radiant with happiness her face currently was lit up. Someone had put a bouquet of roses in her arms after the play but she hadn’t paid attention to who it had been in her excitement of hugging Davet and finding the family. Except she couldn’t get to them right now because there were so many others who wanted to offer their congratulations. She heard it all: she had done a great job, she was going to go places, she was going to be a star, she looked beautiful etc. Reagan was quite used to it but each compliment was appreciated and for each she received, she gave a smile followed by enthusiastic words of gratitude. But would everyone hurry up? Rea really wanted to go share her happiness with her parents and siblings.

Kolyander 10-01-2022 02:55 PM

Christopher hadn’t really wanted to come to this play. It wasn’t high up on his list of things to do but Cassie insisted that he would enjoy it. She also got him to dress proper for the night as one would when attending one of these plays, where she had gone off to though now, he had no clue. Leave it to her to drag her to these things and then leave him standing around on his one waiting for her to come back. No doubt she was off congratulating the stars of the play, whom he recognized immediately, how could he not? Especially when Cass led them to their seats, right near Reagan’s family. Curse his older sister and all she stood for. Well this was uncomfortable, maybe he could uhhh.. Slip away and go wait outside and no one would notice?

FearlessLeader19 10-02-2022 07:05 PM

Reagan didn’t see him until it was too late. Even if he was difficult to miss because of his height, she had been completely distracted. As it was, the happy young lady had made it to close proximity to her family and she was aiming to hand these flowers off to Jude and Keighley because they always seemed to have some sort of love for flowers. Her gaze shifted from her parents to Christopher. To his shoulders, to be exact. She knew EXACTLY to whom those muscular shoulders belonged to even before her gaze touched his face.

What was HE doing here? A few weeks back, he had demonstrated no interest in even seeing the play. And was it just her or did he not look pleased? Reagan took pleasure in the latter thought, even as it occurred to her that Cassie might have been the one who convinced him to attend the event. Reagan stuck her nose in the air and resumed to proceed in the direction of her family, quite ignoring Christopher. She had been the one to try conversing with him first both times they had met before. Not this time!

Kolyander 10-04-2022 03:39 PM

The urge to slip away and wait outside was so strong, the entire atmosphere was uncomfortable. This wasn't the place for him and everyone around them could probably see it all over his face and from just by how he was standing there looking completely lost. Yeah, it was time for him to go now. Cass could find him when she was ready.

Christopher was about to turn and head outside when an all too familiar face headed his way. The star of the play. He was all too happy to let her pass him right by but.. at the very last second he found himself reaching out and lightly touching her arm before he could even realize what he was doing. "Hey, you were really great up there." Really. He wasn't lying. This whole play thing might not be his scene but he would give credit where it was due and she deserved it.

FearlessLeader19 10-09-2022 02:20 PM

Reagan was one hundred percent sure that she was going to sidle by without a single word exchanged between her and Christopher. The thought did not bother her. That man really was the most irritating person she had come across, after all. So just imagine her surprise when the tap on her arm had her looking up into his face. Reagan did not bother to hide the feeling and immediately, she felt herself turning frosty towards him.

The girl arched a perfect eyebrow. “Thank you?” Her tone was not as warm as it usually was and there was a hint of skepticism in her voice. Catching sight of Keighley, she held out the flowers to her sister. Rea wanted to ask him what he was doing here but decided not to. It would mean striking up a conversation which she was sure Christopher cared nothing about. His compliment most likely was just out of politeness, anyway.

Kolyander 10-13-2022 02:56 PM

Geeze, Reagan. Could she appear anymore cold towards him right now? He had hardly said anything and the look she gave him was enough to shut him down. Really what was her issue with him? It wasn't like he was mean to her or anything. In fact it was the complete opposite tonight. He didn't even want to be here and yet he was complimenting her on a play he didn't really enjoy but couldn't deny that she wasn't fabulous in. Where was the fairness in that?

Christopher ignored the arched brow skepticism in her voice. "You're welcome. I mean that. You made it look really easy, natural." See, he was not only being nice but honest too. Not always was he a jerk. And Cass had been right, the girl was going to go really far in her career once she finished with school. He gave a small nod of his head towards her family that was nearby, Keighley happily accepting the flowers her older sister had handed off to her.

FearlessLeader19 10-19-2022 04:02 PM

Did he really want to find out the answer to that? Because yes, she could be more frosty than she was right now. Not that he would care, right? Other than the fact that he seemingly purposely went out of his way to annoy her, the last time they interacted, she felt as though she were the only one making an effort with the conversation. So… you know… this girl went where her energy was reciprocated and it clearly wasn’t around Christopher Carter.

Her arms free of flowers now, Reagan covered her confusion at the words by pretending to smooth out a wrinkle in her forest green dress. Part of her wondered if Cassie had told him to say something nice. That thought did not improve her mood towards him but the other part was trying not to be rude by saying something sarcastic. “Do you though? Mean it, I mean.” Then Rea shook her head. “It doesn’t matter. Thank you, anyway.”

Kolyander 10-21-2022 12:46 PM

No, no he did not care to find out because he was sure that she could be and he didn't quite feel like being on the receiving end of her anger this evening. But yes, he very well would care. He didn't need to be complained at by a young lady that was nearly half his age. Excuse her?! Last time he actually wasn't unfriendly to her and he did his best to be nice to. It wasn't entirely his fault that she took everything he said and did the wrong way, all of the time.

Christopher arched a brow at her. "If I didn't mean it, I wouldn't say it." He wasn't raised that way. "I meant what I said, Reagan. You really do belong out there on the stage." Whether or not she chose to believe him was on her now. He wasn't going to keep repeating himself over and over again and making himself sound like a goof.

FearlessLeader19 10-24-2022 04:59 PM

What a surprise, that he actually cared. Or was this just an ego thing on his part? Because he couldn’t bear the thought of Cassie giving him an earful on Reagan’s behalf? Yes, Rea would chalk it up to Christopher’s ego. Okay, he wasn’t unfriendly but he had made her feel as though she were pestering him. Did he not realise that her asking him continuous questions and him simply answering had given off the vibe that he didn’t want to talk? And that he wasn’t interested in her play or her? Can you blame her, Christopher, that you annoyed her for the most parts? Surely she wasn’t the only one you drove insane?

Rea was silent for a considerable amount of time, oblivious to all the bustle around her as she stared hard at Christopher. She was trying to read his face, an attempt to determine how truthful he was being with her. Apparently his face passed her scrutiny for she nodded. “Okay, I believe you. And thank you again.” A slow smile crept onto her face. “Well, I do plan on going on to being a VERY successful actress someday. Maybe you’ll come to see those too.” There was a shrug on her to indicate that there was no pressure on him to show up to those movies.

Kolyander 10-25-2022 03:46 PM

Geeze. Did she really think so lowly of him? He wasn't nearly half as bad as she was making him out to be. In fact he wasn't even close to it. If she gave him a quarter of a chance she would realize that. Despite the fact that he didn't always go into great detail with all of his replies to questions, he was a really decent guy. Believe it or not Reagan, no he didn't annoy everyone else. It seemed like it was only really her. Maybe she just didn't understand him all that well. Or was it that big age gap between them that made things so problematic for them?

She was welcome to study him all she wanted, she'd see nothing but honesty tonight. There was no lying on his part. Every word that had come out of his mouth had been the truth. Christopher nodded. "You're welcome. When that day comes and there's no doubt in my mind that it will, let me know and I'll be there." He meant that. What made him say this to her, he wasn't sure when he wasn't really a fan of plays and things but.. for some reason if she was the star of them, well he wanted to cheer her on. There was nothing wrong with cheering for a friends younger sibling. Plus, Cassie was likely to drag him along to the plays anyhow.

FearlessLeader19 10-30-2022 02:06 PM

Well… yeah. But in her defense, Rea had tried multiple times to give Christopher the benefit of a doubt. In her mind, he hadn’t lived up to her expectations. Maybe it was because she was so many years his junior. Maybe it was because he saw her as nothing more than Koen’s little sister. Whatever. She didn’t want him to see her as anything more, anyway. She was so done giving him chances. Christopher would have to work rather hard to show her that he wasn’t just another man with a giant attitude. Rea doubted that he would have any such intentions, anyway.

Christopher really was making her emotions go all over the place. At one point she was being cold to him then another, that coldness was thawing off. Reagan clutched desperately at it, which was a difficult task when he was saying such nice things. The young actress resisted the urge to eye him suspiciously at the next words; what did cross her face was surprise. Very, VERY stunned surprise. “Do you… mean that? All of it?” Was this reverse psychology in play? Her being cold to him had made him be nice and proper to him in turn?

Kolyander 11-01-2022 02:59 PM

Multiple? Twice. And the previous time as pre-mentioned he hadn't been mean nor rude towards her. If anyone had asked him he hadn't been that way the first time either but if that's how she wanted to keep seeing it, fine. Perhaps it was. He was nearly a preteen by the time she had been born. They had grown up in completely different worlds almost. Actually they had for the most part, his entire time up until the time Cass had turned eleven everything had been completely muggle for him. Not that it had much to do with anything but little things could matter sometimes. Maybe it was the other way around, she was the one with the attitude? Had to even stopped to consider that thought at all? He wouldn't be surprised if she hadn't.

Whatever was going on in that young teenage head of hers, hadn't been his goal. All he had wanted to do was compliment her. Okay, well no. What he had really wanted to do was get the heck out of there before he had been seen but that hadn't happened. "I only say what I mean and I always mean what I say. So yes, I meant every single word, Reagan." Christopher spoke surely and quietly with a light gentle smile that reached his blue eyes. Nah, this was him, being him. No messing about or being a jerk or whatever she thought he was.

FearlessLeader19 11-06-2022 09:13 PM

Multiple meant more than once, didn’t it, Christopher? Unless Reagan has suddenly lost her head and forgotten the meaning of words. Yes, she would continue seeing their first meeting that way, thank you very much! And even if she had attitude well… Christopher had it far more. Uh huh! Rea was going to stay stubborn on that topic.

Or try to?

Because like she thought… Christopher was messing with her head. ‘Focus, Reagan Aurora Anders!’ she chided herself. ‘He’s still cocky and infuriating. A few compliments doesn’t make him your friend.’ His… smile. Reagan tried not to stare. This was the absolute first time that he had smiled at her in that manner. It even seemed to be a genuine smile. Before Rea knew it, she was smiling back. “You should smile more often. You’re less likely to get anyone annoyed, including your sister if you get her that way.’' The young woman really meant that. “Anyway, you probably should take the time to go see Koen’s band at some point otherwise he’ll think you’ve only got time for plays.” There was a small smirk playing her lips just because.

Kolyander 11-11-2022 05:38 PM

Blah, blah, blah. There she went doing it again. Getting all technical and nit picky with every little thing. Of course she was going to be stubborn. And you know what, he would let her be. If she wanted all of their encounters to be unpleasant because she needed to keep having an attitude with him, then so be it.

Whether or not Christopher was aware he was being stared at, remains unknown. He appeared completely calm, his hands now clasped lightly behind his back as he stood there, very much aware that she was now smiling back at him. Well, would you look at that! A compliment from the stubborn one herself. "So should you." Smile that is. There was a small chuckle from him now. "No need to worry about that. I've been to a few." Typically during the school year but he's seen his fair share of those too.

FearlessLeader19 11-14-2022 11:11 PM

Well, well, well.

Reagan would say that he was learning because leaving her to be stubborn during one of her ‘stubborn phases’ was the best thing that anyone could do. She would climb out of that funk when she was ready but by the way things were going between her and Christopher.

Frankly, she didn’t care if he knew she was staring. Reagan let out a snort. “I smile often enough, just not at you.” That was a fact! She nodded. “I’m sure Koen appreciates that.” Rea had been on the verge of saying that Christopher was a good friend but had rapidly changed tactics. There was no need to swell his head. “Well, thank you for coming. I’d better get to my parents. I can literally see my dad getting impatient because he wants to suffocate me with hugs.” Here, she actually laughed in amusement at the thought.

Kolyander 11-17-2022 05:47 PM

Learning? That was one way to look at it. Another would be, that he was actually getting to know her a bit. Whatever it was she was free to do her own thing as long as she stopped taking all her little tantrums out on him.

Christopher lifted a shoulder in a slight shrug. "I'm sure that you do." Yeah, he was so done with their little back and forth games or whatever those were. "Sometimes it's the little things that are important." It was nice to have someone that did their best to build you up. Here he nodded, glancing over at her family. They all looked like they were ready to hug Rea until the end of time. [B]"You're welcome. Yeah, I won't keep you any longer. I'll see you around some other time. Enjoy the rest of your night." Chris smiled lightly.

FearlessLeader19 11-23-2022 12:30 AM

Too bad Christopher didn’t know that Rea wouldn’t stop taking out her tantrums on him. Too bad he didn’t know that he would grow to love her and her tantrums dearly. Too bad she didn’t know that she would fall just as hard for him and that she’d try to ease up on her tantrum throwing just for him. For now, she would say goodbye to him and in her mind, they were neither friends nor enemies. Acquaintances maybe. “Bye, Christopher! Thanks for coming to see the play even if you didn’t want to!” Rea returned his smile then turned in the direction of her parents.

Scene 4:
It’s the summer of 2109. Rea has found herself at the bakery owned by Cassie - Christopher’s sister. Another meeting between the giant and the little lady!

Characters:
Christopher Michael Carter (Kolyander)
Reagan Aurora Anders (FearlessLeader19)

Rea hadn’t anything to do in particular that day. The theatre group would be meeting until tomorrow, which left the young woman with the first day of summer free. As a matter of fact, she would be free for the next year because she had only just graduated from Hogwarts. That year would fly by quickly though, given the fact that she was due to tag along with Koen on his tour during that time.

Wanting to be out and about, the seventeen year old had found herself at Cassie’s bakery, and after chatting with the other woman for a bit, Rea bought herself several chocolate churros then took up temporary residence at one of the tables in the bakery. She’d just hang out for a bit to pass the time by eating and doing her wordsearch puzzle. With her fancy purple and yellow pen in hand {it even had a matching unicorn stuck at the top}, Rea opened her puzzle book to a fresh page and got to work.

Kolyander 11-24-2022 04:41 PM

Christopher frequented his sisters bakery quite often. Whether it was to help out, hangout or actually purchase something depended on the day. Today he was on his way there to drop off his nephew who he'd spent a few hours with that morning. They'd had a great day at the park and doing a little shopping, Issac had even picked out a new stuffie for his little sister.

Entering the shop, Chris set the young boy down on the floor watching him immediately run around behind the counter to his mum, chatting excitedly about his morning. Grins at his sister, only then noticing the shop wasn't empty and actually realizing he knew who was sitting at one of the tables. "Hello, Reagan." Yup, he was being simple but polite and greeting her. Didn't want her claiming that he was 'rude' or whatever she might do.

FearlessLeader19 11-29-2022 02:16 PM

The sound of hurried footsteps had Reagan looking up from the work she had just struck off the list in her book. The footsteps belonged to someone she immediately recognised. Where there was an Isaac, there was bound to be a certain giant. A quick search confirmed this but she hurriedly looked back down at her book before he could notice her. Don’t ask her why, she didn’t know that answer. It was possible that she wasn’t in the mood for another one of their bickering sessions. The day was too perfect for such a thing.

Isaac’s chattering had her sneaking a glance at him, a tiny smile playing on her lips. She found the child to be quite the cutie. Startled at suddenly hearing her name from Christopher, Rea shifted her attention. Imagine the surprise she felt when she realised her smile had increased by a fraction. Since when did HE have that effect on her? “Hi, Christopher,” Rea remarked cautiously. And… she was not annoyed to see him…

Huh?

This was baffling and unusual.

Kolyander 12-06-2022 03:05 PM

Was his eye still somewhat on his nephew even though the young boy was perfectly okay with his mum? Yes, yes, it was. This was merely done out of habit and nothing more. Cassie was a phenomenal parent to all of her children. It was simply that Christopher enjoyed watching the interaction between the two of them. Something Issac had said made him chuckle lightly but his attention shifted back onto Reagan when he heard her return greeting.

Well would you look at that, there was a small smile from her too. Chris returned it with one of his own. "How is your summer going? Busy, I'm sure or are you taking it easy for a bit now that you've graduated?" He had heard about that from Koen. His friend was very proud of her, which he was sure that she already knew. That Anders bunch was a close nit family for sure.

FearlessLeader19 12-08-2022 12:27 AM

It was so clear that Christopher cared for his nephew deeply. This was something Rea had recognised the first time she saw the two together but it wasn’t until now that she really let the fact sink in. Like… REALLY sink in. The way Christopher kept his gaze on Isaac spoke volumes. It was heartwarming, and Rea being an older sister to Jude and Keigh could understand fully the nature in which it took to care for someone that special.

Um…

WHAT was happening?

She was smiling, he was smiling… they were smiling at each other. Had the world gone MAD?

Reagan blinked but kept the friendliness chat going. Okay, so Christopher knew she had graduated now, which was more than likely that Ko had told him. “It’s not that busy at the moment,’’ Rea responded, tapping the unicorn against her book. “Taking it easy is exactly what I plan on doing. Ko’s invited me to go on tour with him and the band as I’m taking the next year off. Did he tell you about that?” Honestly, Rea wouldn’t mind if Ko had, and this came as another surprise to her.

Kolyander 12-13-2022 03:24 PM

Indeed he did. It wasn't only Issac that he cared for either. Christopher cared for all of his nieces and nephews even if it appeared that young Issac might be the one whom he currently spent the most time with. That wasn't entirely the case, he did his best to divide his time between them all whenever they weren't away at school.

And yes, Reagan, they were smiling at one another. Something they had done before however fleeting it may have been.

The tapping of the.. what was that? A.. unicorn? Against the book, gave him the impression that he was either bugging her or that she was confused by his conversation. Either way, she had answered his question so he was going to keep it going as well. "That's good, nothing at all wrong with taking it easy and taking some time off and enjoying yourself for a little while." Taking a year off and traveling sounded like a whole lot of fun to him. "He may have mentioned something like that to me. That's got to be something you've been looking forward to?"

FearlessLeader19 12-16-2022 01:03 AM

Reagan had already deduced that Christopher was a family man and spent time with his other family members. She figured he was just extremely fond of Isaac. There was nothing wrong with that; it was quite normal - sort of like how she was super fond and protective of Jude. She had even grudgingly accepted that this trait of being close to one’s family had scored Christopher a point in her book.

When was the last time they had smiled at each other? Last year at the play? Rea couldn’t quite remember. It didn’t matter because the fact that he hadn’t annoyed her as yet was weirding her out. To hide her confusion, she flipped to the back of her word search book where the answers to the searches were printed. The thing was, the wordsearches printed by this book company printed their answers upside down. Naturally the book had to be turned that way. Her eyes zoned in on wordsearch number 15, the current one she was working on. Her attention was focused on Christopher too. “I plan to.” A frown crossed her face as she tried to locate the word that had been eluding her since she sat down here at the bakery by reading through each word.

When Rea had asked about Ko mentioning her traveling to Chris, she had been joking. But hearing the confirmation that it was something that actually happened, she lowered her book with interest. “I am looking forward to it. I always wanted to see as many places as I possibly could. Does Ko talk a lot about me, Keigh and Jude?” she asked. Actually, she only really wanted to know if Koen also mentioned her constant outbursts at him and how childish she could be. But then again…

Why did she care what Christopher thought of her?

Kolyander 12-19-2022 10:54 PM

This hadn't always been the case. When he was younger, Chris had wanted nothing more than to do things on his own and be his own person. Not be the middle child and have to live up to his older sisters name or have things handed to him being the youngest. It was true he was close with his siblings but they got even closer the older they got. Things could be strange like that sometimes. And yes, truth be told, maybe he did have a small soft spot in his heart for little Issac. How could he not though, when that boy was as adorable as he was?

"There's nothing like a nice relaxing summer. Best to make the most of it while you can." Soon enough she would have a whole lot of adulting ahead of her and no time for anything else. He would know. Blue eyes watched the unicorn pen tap against the table even as Reagan flipped the book over and seemed to be searching for something? What he wasn't sure since he hadn't moved closer to her at all from where he had been standing. "Having a problem?" He gave a small incline of his head towards her book. Perhaps he could help?

Chris smiled a bit. "And what better way to see a bunch of places than to travel around with your brothers band?" To him it sounded like a cool idea. Site seeing and sibling time. Double win. Hear he had to think about this question for a minute or so. Over the years he had heard plenty of things about all of the Anders siblings, it came with being friends with Koen. As they got older he didn't get all of the news as often but he still heard stuff from time to time when they got to chat or saw each other. "Not constantly but he does talk about the three of you."

FearlessLeader19 12-24-2022 06:28 PM

Rea wouldn’t know what such a feeling was, having been brought up surrounded by immediate and extended family members. The way she saw it though, was that one could be independent and still be close to their family. In fact, it was a must. It was always nice to have that support. Rea knew this couldn’t sadly couldn’t be the case for every family but she thought it certainly could always be for Christopher when she looked at him with his sister and nephew. Also, she didn’t know why but even she had a soft spot for Isaac. The child was too cute.

“That’s true. I think I’m ready for everything that comes my way though. I can’t help but be excited at the prospect of it all.”
Rea threw him a cautious smile from over her book as well as a fleeting look. Her eyes moved back to the page, landing on the word that had been eluding her. Those eyes lit up. “Just a pesky word that I spent a good ten minutes trying to find.” Righting the book, Rea busied herself with circling the word in the original puzzle. “You can sit with me, you know. If you like.” The teen wasn’t that bad, Christopher, so as to leave you standing there.

“Right?! It’s going to be thrilling! I can’t wait to experience every bit of touring life!’’ There was genuine happiness and anticipation written all across her face. There was so much to look forward to and Rea was so grateful that Ko had invited her along. The girl nodded, careful to not let Christopher see the slight relief cross her face. Chances were that Koen had left out her childish behaviour. “I hope he doesn’t bore you with talks of my siblings and I.”

Kolyander 12-28-2022 05:09 PM

Being a middle child for him wasn't always easy. He didn't win medals like his older sister and his younger brother was a no-maj like their parents so he got a lot of special treatment for that. None of that mattered now though, he was an adult and so were they. Each living their own lives and doing their own things now. Cass was clearly doing the best of them all. At least in his eyes she was and he couldn't be more proud of her now.

Christopher chuckled lightly. There's nothing that can stand in your way then, hm?" He didn't think Reagan was the type to back down from anything at all. If anything she would probably bulldoze her way right through whatever it was standing in her way simply to prove a point. Her brother was a lot like that too if he recalled things from their Hogwarts days. Ah, she was working on puzzle book. Now that made some sense and it earned a small grin and a nod of his head. As for the invitation to sit down.. well.. okay then. "I didn't want to intrude without being invited first." However now that he had been, he slid into the seat across from her. "Thanks." For not making him continue to stand there.

"As thrilling as it's going to be, I'm sure it will be tiring too. From all the excitement and constant movement, of course." Touring life was hectic from what he had heard. "Nope, I wouldn't call any of those talks boring from what I can recall of them."

FearlessLeader19 12-31-2022 06:09 PM

Later on in life, at some point when they were dating, Reagan would definitely mention that younger Christopher had had a heavy influence on older Christopher. A VERY positive influence because she would be a huge fan of his; she would realise just how kind, mature and caring he was when she eventually warmed up to him.

“Not a thing!’’ Rea responded, one hundred percent certain of this. She actually felt sorry for any obstacle that came her way. “Anything negative that has the misfortune to come across me will go POOF with the wave of my wand.” Maybe not literally but Christopher got the point, yeah? “How… gentlemanly? of you.’’ Her tone was a mixture of sarcasm and bewilderment. Bewilderment because WHAT WAS HAPPENING?! Rea had actually invited Christopher to sit with her and he had accepted said invitation! “You’re welcome.” Yeah. Yeah, he was.

“I’ve thought of that. There are so many times that I’ve seen Ko come home after his tours. It seems like he sleeps for days on end.” Reagan lifted her shoulders in a shrug. “But I’m anticipating everything that comes with touring. It’ll be a nice change from having to worry about exams.” Like she was currently doing over her NEWT results, which should arrive in a few weeks time. “Well, we are an entertaining bunch so…” There was an actual grin from her at those words. “Are you heading back out with Isaac?’’ came the curious question as she looked towards where she had last seen the little human.

Kolyander 01-04-2023 04:21 PM

A lot could be said about the changes that where happening and were to continue happening not only for himself but for her as well. There was a lot they had yet figured out about one another but time was going to help them with that. Time and getting a chance to actually talk without arguing.

Christopher chuckled lightly. "For some reason I doubt that for even a second." He had heard a few things about how she made things go how she liked or that was that. Actually, he was proof of that. How many times had she walked away from him because he 'annoyed' her? "Right? Lookit me being a grown-up." He grinned cheekily just a little bit there to show he was only teasing around. But no, seriously, them getting along for more than a minute was a shocker. Why she seemed so surprised that he had sat down, he didn't know but he wasn't about to dwell on it right this minute.

"Well can you blame? As much as I'm sure he enjoys it all.. is there anything better than getting to be home in your own bed again?" No, he didn't think so. "Ah, yeah, now that's something I don't miss. I have a feeling you did great though and there's nothing for you to worry about." He didn't know a whole lot about her now that she was older but he knew she was smart and that she likely aced all her exams. Chris laughed again nodding in agreement. The Anders certainly were entertaining. "Not that I know of? He asked to come back and be with his mum and sister.. so here we are." Which meant he was free for the remainder of the day to do whatever he needed to do. Isaac was bouncing around behind the counter now chatting about all the different treats and all of his favorites.

FearlessLeader19 01-07-2023 11:22 PM

He didn’t doubt her? Rea found that kind of strange but then she recalled that Ko talked about his siblings and figured that maybe Christopher had deduced how determined and confident she could be. For some reason, she found it warming on the inside that he believed in her. Would you look at that? Christopher actually managed to make her laugh, her wordsearch puzzle quite forgotten at the moment. “I didn’t know you had it in you, actually.” Reagan smiled sweetly but her eyes glinted wickedly. Though she was playing along, there was some surprise within her. All this time she had thought Christopher to be pompous and stuck up and annoying. She once even thought that he hadn’t cared about her presence.

“I guess not. I suppose he even got homesick when he started touring. Though… I’m not sure if that might have been for Hogwarts or for the Anders’ home.” Rea chuckled. “It doesn’t matter now. He has his own home and I’m happy that he’s happy with his life.” Even if the young woman still struggled with having her older brother away, it wasn’t as bad as before; so yes, she was happy for him. Rea grinned slyly. “Were you terrible at exams then?” It was meant as a joke. The more the two conversed, the more Reagan felt her resentment for Christopher chip away, bit by bit. Reagan’s gaze remained fixed on Isaac. He was really a cute little fellow; she adored kids, you see. “So basically… he’s the boss of you?” Cue a tiny smirk playing on her lips.

Kolyander 01-08-2023 02:56 PM

Chris had heard a lot about all of the Anders siblings throughout the years. Sure not everything was current but he went by what he heard, knew to be true and had seen for himself. Time had a way of changing things, changing people. "Well I sometimes even amaze myself," he joked lightheartedly. It appeared that little by little they were surprising one another with their changes in attitude and he was all for it. There was a small part of him that wanted to prove her previous assumptions of him wrong. Why, he felt like this had to be done, he didn't know but it was going to happen. He would see to it that it did.

"It may very well have been both. Hogwarts holds a lot of great memories for sure and but family is really where it's at." That was only his opinion but he was speaking truthfully. Lots of great friends had been made during those years but his family was always number one. I know he's glad that the two of you have worked things out and he's looking forward to having you with him on tour." Ko was a good guy and really valued his sibling relationships. "I didn't do poorly on them but I'm sure I could've done better. At least on a one or two of them." There was no denying from him that those exams had been kick in the behind. One of his happiest moments from Hogwarts was when he no longer had to worry about them. Blue eyes followed Reagan's back onto his nephew and he chuckled. "Boss of me. Boss of his parents and siblings. He's a smart little dude." Smart and spoiled but not a brat. Thank Merlin for that.

FearlessLeader19 01-14-2023 08:44 PM

Oh? He was determined to change her impression of him, was he? If he only knew that Reagan had already thought that perhaps she had been too quick to judge. Or that maybe that day at the wedding, the timing for which they had interacted with each other had been the wrong one. There was no way those thoughts would be known to Christopher, however. No, the teen would simply continue to pretend as though she still had full suspicions of him being an irritable giant. “Or.” Rea tilted her head slyly. “We could say you’re on your best behaviour because Cassie is here.” They both knew his sister kept him in line.

Christopher was actually turning out to be wise as opposed to only being a man with a smart mouth. “It’s both in my opinion too. Some of the friendships made at Hogwarts can last for the rest of your life but there’s no feeling like being in your own home. With your mother and father, siblings. The entire extended family, really.” Reagan laughed. “Okay, so which subjects were you bad at?”

“Got you guys wrapped around his little fingers, huh?” Reagan was grinning. “I mean, I can see that. Kids are adorable. I still remember helping out with Jude and Keighley when they were munchkins. I always felt as though I shouldn’t take my eyes away from them because I didn’t want to miss a thing they did.” Even if Jude was the quieter of the two youngest and required less attention.

Kolyander 01-17-2023 05:47 PM

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. Typically he wasn't the type of guy to get started off on the wrong foot with someone and make a bad impression of himself, such as he had. Things do happen though and there was time for him to right the wrong. Chris was sure though, that given the chance he could change her mind. "Aye' now you see, that would be a great assumption, almost as good as if my mum were here." That his big sister did but no one kept him in line like his mum. Even at his age he always respected that woman and did his best not to embarrass her. His love for his family was strong.

"Well would you look at that! The two of us agreeing on something," he chuckled lightly in a playful manner. One of his friendships from his Hogwarts days that he still was very thankful for was the one with her brother. After all these years they still got along great. "Arithmancy for sure. Astronomy wasn't exactly my best either." He had no reason not to admit his defeat in both of those. "What about you? There has to be something you weren't great at, hm?"

There was a definite grin on his face as he glanced from her to his nephew and back again. "That he does." Issac had everyone wrapped around his finger just as his younger sister and the rest of their siblings did. "You helped out a lot with them then?" Somehow that knowledge didn't surprise him at all. "And now they're practically almost all grown up and I bet you're still watching their every move whenever you can." It was surely a sibling thing, he was sure of it.

FearlessLeader19 01-22-2023 04:53 PM

Reagan could neither confirm nor deny this about Christopher. What she’d remember for the rest of her life {and would eventually look back upon that moment with fondness} was that they had completely gotten off on the wrong foot and her giant {no pun intended} resentment towards him. She found herself laughing. “The only two women who can keep you in line then?” Out of pure curiosity, Reagan found her thoughts drifting, wondering if Christopher had a wife or girlfriend. It seemed too a personal question to voice so she simply pushed it from her head. “Is Cassie a lot like your mother?”

A slow grin spread over her face. “Do you think the world’s about to end?’’ she joked. See? The Gryffindor could play right back. Arithmancy and Astronomy were two subjects she wasn’t bad at. Rea wasn’t half bad at Astronomy because of Jude; he loved stars, constellations and all that jazz and excelled at the subject. With his help, she had managed to get by. “Those can be difficult subjects, yes. Equally difficult is Ancient Runes. I got a T for that OWL.’’ Look at the subjects starting with ‘A’ that had given them a difficult time.

It really wasn’t surprising that any kid could have any adult wrapped around their tiny fingers. Those darn cute and cherub-like faces could melt anyone’s heart. “I did. Or at least tried to because Jude’s just over a year younger than I am. And Keighley came along soon after so there wasn’t much I could do when they were babies. But as we grew, mom and dad allowed me to take on more responsibilities.” Rea nodded vigorously. “You bet! I try to offer advice or just be there for them. Jude… he’s been through a rough heartbreak. Keigh's got a complicated love life… I just worry they’ll get hurt so I try to be there for whenever they need me, even if I won’t be at Hogwarts this time around.”

Kolyander 01-23-2023 05:32 PM

Chris had no idea of it now but in years to come, there was going to be many times that he looked back on things and laughed. It was funny how sometimes the one you least expected became the biggest part of your life.. and for the better. "For lack of a better way in putting that.. yes." He gave a quiet laugh. "Unless you want to toss my nieces and nephews into that?" Those kids had him wrapped around their fingers. With the way he treated them all, he was scared to know how spoiled his own children would be.. should he be lucky enough to have any. "A bit. They're both very compassionate and extremely driven women." Two qualities he really loved about them.

"Well if it does, at least it will come to an end with us surrounded by yummy treats." There was a teasing smirk from him. Christopher gave a very audible groan at the mention of Ancient Runes. "There's some runes I understand and that are very helpful but otherwise that wasn't one of my best classes either." Cassie had been a great help with some of his studies. Siblings were amazing for that.

He listened and nodded along as she spoke. "Were you that bossy little one since you were older than them or their very best friend because you were older and could help them with things?" Perhaps she had been an equal amount of both. There was a smile from him in clear understanding. "Koen touched a little bit on some things with Jude and Keigh.. not much but enough for me to get the picture I think. Things are doing better though for Jude, yeah?" If he recalled things correctly Ko had said his brother was dating someone now and was happy with things? "I'm sure you'll be there for them as much as you possibly can whether they are still at Hogwarts or graduated and moving on with their lives."

FearlessLeader19 01-29-2023 11:40 PM

Reagan laughed along with Christopher. “Okay, okay. So let’s see… your mother, Cassie, Isaac and your numerous other nieces and nephews?’' She giggled, picturing a huge extended family that was all Christopher’s and the only force that could keep him in line. “I don’t think they’d have to worry about you getting out of line then.” She nodded, not at all surprised at the comparison. The way Christopher spoke about them, the level of respect he had for them both was clear.

“Might as well scarf all the goodies down lest we’re hit by a meteor.” Was Christopher always this fun? Rea grinned innocently at him. “I’d like to take this moment to point out that the subjects beginning with ‘A’ were apparently our downfall. Or almost were.” What a coincidence.

“Definitely the latter! Need you even ask, Christopher?” Granted, he didn’t know her that well but she was still tempted to whack him across the head with her unicorn pen. In a playful manner, of course. Rea nodded. “He is! He’s got himself a boyfriend now!” Reagan doubted the feelings for a certain Ravenclaw {whom she seemingly got along with but still harboured slight resentment for}. “Jude’s happy, yeah. That’s all that matters. Want to hear a secret? I played matchmaker in both Jude’s and Keigh’s life… I uh… just felt the need to brag a little.” There was a shrug from her as she tried not to look too pleased with this fact. Never mind that she hadn’t found anyone SHE wanted to date. “Oh, definitely. I’m only a Hogsmeade visit or mirror call away.”

Kolyander 02-03-2023 05:02 PM

"If you're getting technical with it, yes. And all of those nieces and nephews are thanks to.." Christopher paused and looked over his shoulder at Cassie with a grin on his face. "That one there." Cass gave them a sweet smile when she realized her brother was looking her way but that was all. "No, I think it's safe to say I'm pretty much keeping myself inline most of the time now." He was a grown man now. Sure, there are times where he slips up and does things he may regret but that's what life was all about. Learning from ones mistakes.

Nod nod. See, now she was thinking! Chris chuckled. "That's got to be the smartest thing I've heard all afternoon. What's your favorite?" Since they were on the topic of 'goodies' he just thought he would ask. "Such a terrible way to start off the alphabet too.. those A subjects being so harsh." He was joking but not really. Even if he could he would never go back and retake any of those classes.

"What?!" Chris grinned at her. "You could be protective and bossy! Just ask Cassie." Sorry Cass! His sister was the greatest but she had been a tad bit bossy when they were little kids. A boyfriend? Well things seemed to be doing well for him then? "Well, good for him! He deserves it after all that heartache and such." Good for Jude for moving onward and upward! A brow was arched curiously now. "Did you? I'm sure they both appreciate your help very much." Since both Jude and Keigh were happy in their relationships. "Best thing about magic right there. We're never really all that far away.. even when we are."

FearlessLeader19 02-04-2023 02:27 PM

Cassie indeed had a lot of kids. Jude would definitely like that. She did too, actually. Maybe someday she herself would have a big family. Only time would tell. Rea moved her gaze between the two siblings as they interacted briefly. There was so much love between them, anyone could observe that. “Your family is proud of you, I’m sure.” Reagan meant it. She suspected that as long as Christopher had those he loved, he’d always try to improve himself for their sake.

“Chocolate churros. Don’t you remember me scarfing down a fair few last summer at the play’s audition?” What bothered her right now, was that she found herself slightly miffed that Christopher did not pick up on her love for churros. Then again, he’d much too occupied with Isaac and had barely paid any attention to her. He was quite lucky he made her laugh with his words about the ‘A’ subjects. This way, Rea didn’t resort to glowering at him about the churro incident.

“Okay, okay!” Rea laughed again. “That’s true but it’s not my style. And Cassie needs to be bossy with you.” There was a rather sweet smile to go with those cheeky words. Yes, this older sister THRILLED for her brother! Jude was always right about one thing: everything worked out. “Uh huh. I did. Maybe I’ll be a matchmaker when I retire from acting.” It was a goodish idea, Rea reckoned, and she’d keep it at the back of her mind for now. “Agreed! It’s helpful as much as Muggle devices. I’m usually never without my phone when I’m not at Hogwarts.”

Kolyander 02-08-2023 05:32 PM

Christopher was proud of his sister. The life she had settled herself into was one that she had made for herself and it suited her perfectly. Married life, a bunch of kids, owning a bakery, it was all Cassie. Him on the other hand.. Well he still had no clue what he was doing. Yeah, he had a few degrees under his belt and years around kids of all ages, some very badly ended relationships but nothing that truly stuck for him. "I have no doubt that they have." At least his work was going well for him.

"Oh, yeah, that's right." He chuckled. "Those could've just been the best things there.. not your most favorite," Chris replied this time with a grin. Maybe he had noticed or perhaps he hadn't. Either way, he was going to keep this in mind now for later use.

Don't mind the eyebrow raise.. but what?! "She does now, does she? And why is that?" He wasn't a terrible guy, was he? He was pretty darn sure he was great. Nod nod. "I hear that. I've always got mind on me as well. Need to make sure the family can get a hold of me at all times no matter what I'm doing or where I am." He always tried to answer calls and if for some reason he couldn't he returned them as soon as he was able to.

FearlessLeader19 02-13-2023 02:28 AM

Reagan too would agree that this lifestyle suited Cassie; the woman seemed to have slipped right into her role as mother and baker quite comfortably. Cassie certainly owned the roles; those and being Christopher’s sister as well. Cassie was a natural caretaker just as Christopher was, in case he hadn’t noticed {maybe with the exception of those bad romantic relationships}. A job in that department would suit him perfectly.

Cue the roll of her eyes. “You are INFURIATING, Christopher Carter!” But she was laughing, quite surprised his words hadn’t annoyed her. “Fine, I’ll rephrase: chocolate churros are the best pastries and my absolute favourite!” Was that clearer?

“Because you can be stubborn. Too focused on a task at hand to notice anything else.” The girl shrugged. “You need someone to remind you to take a breath sometimes. Cassie seems the best person to do that.” Oh, they had the entire phone thing in common. “Makes sense. I imagine you get calls for delivering baked goods… or from Isaac when he misses you.”

Kolyander 02-14-2023 05:10 PM

In his eyes, there was nothing that his sister couldn't do. Maybe he was being a biased big brother but it was true. Not many could take on what she had so effortlessly, he didn't think he could. Now that would be news to him, he had never even considered taking his career in that direction.

Annnnd cue the innocent look from him in return. "I'm sure I am, Reagan Anders," he replied with a grin still laughing. "Ahhhhh, see? Now that wasn't so difficult, was it?" Christopher teased her cheekily. He knew he was pushing it a bit but hey, she was still laughing!

Chris actually took a minute or perhaps it was two to consider Reagan's words before he answered her this time. "Maybe but isn't that the same for a lot of people? Haven't you ever been so involved in your acting that you lost all track of time?" No lying now Rea, he saw how she was on stage. "Aye' constantly. Or random texts that make no sense because one of the little ones tried to message me themselves." He smiled. None of it bothered him at all.

FearlessLeader19 02-23-2023 05:14 PM

No, no! It just wasn’t you, Christopher. Reagan thought that Cassie was Supermom - a combination of Superwoman and a perfect mom. Whereas Christopher may have been biased, Rea was not; she truly saw the effort and balance Cassie put into her work and family. The older woman was definitely an inspiration.

Rea stuck her nose haughtily in the air, a mock proud moment of her getting Christopher to admit how annoying he could be. But they were laughing and no one was mad at each other. Maybe, just maybe the two could get along now it seemed. “Don’t push it, Christopher,’’ the young lady warned, eyeing him. “Just because I played along doesn’t mean I’ll hesitate to argue with you. If I do, Cassie’s bound to hear us and she’ll come over wanting to know what’s happened.” She smirked, feeling feisty in the moment.

Had she stumped him with her bluntness? Reagan was not worried; Christopher could bounce back from anything, she had come to realise. “That’s true for a lot but not for me. My parents taught my siblings and I that while it’s great to get lost in our passions, it’s not the only thing we should get lost in. Doing so can make you neglect the smaller moments and the other people around you. When you do either, you miss opportunities or you push people away because they’ll think you’re not interested in them anymore.” So while Rea did get lost in her acting, once it was over, she was back to focusing on the real world.

That tidbit about random messages made her burst into laughter. “I can just picture you trying to make sense of and trying to figure out who sent them. It’s adorable though, they way they love your presence so much.”

Kolyander 02-24-2023 04:16 PM

My, my, look at her in all of her stuck-up self moment. Lucky for her Chris found it funny and wasn't upset at all by any of it. He was behaving himself and not doing anything to anger the younger girl sat across the table from him. "I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm not doing anything." He grinned at her. "You're the one trying to use my own sister against me now."

Christopher had to smile at this. "I couldn't agree more. I mean I don't see anything wrong with losing yourself in your passion for a little while so long as you pull yourself back and don't forget about everyone and everything else around you." It was a very good way to be. Focused when the moment called for it but also able to go along with life as one should.

"Hey, getting a bunch of random letters or emojis doesn't always make a whole lot of sense," he laughed along with her.

FearlessLeader19 03-03-2023 12:35 AM

Look at him being all nice.

Then again, Rea was being the same way and no longer questioning that they were getting along for once. She admitted to herself that this was a great change between the two of them though she was still bewildered how all of this even came to be. Relaxing again, the young lady chuckled. “Maybe so but a girl’s allowed to outsmart a gentleman at times. Just for the fun of it, you know.”

Rea had to admit: Christopher agreeing with her was a big step in this… whatever it was that the two shared. She left the topic at that, trusting that he would be reminded of her words whenever he needed them. Her lips perked up in a grin. “One could always think they have received a coded message like a spy that needs deciphering.” At that moment, her phone vibrated and she took a quick look at the screen. It was a message from Jude reminding her about the date with him and Keighley. “I hate to cut this chat short but I have a date with my siblings. I wouldn’t miss those for the world!’’ She began to gather her belongings.

Kolyander 03-09-2023 04:10 PM

"Outsmart yes.. but using ones own sister against them.. now that's just mean," he replied, trying to hold back a grin. It was clear he was trying hard not to laugh at her silly little antics. It wasn't like Cassie was going to come over and get angry at him for no reason at all, so he had nothing to worry about. Plus, they were actually getting along today.

There was a brief moment of silence, one where perhaps Christopher was considering Reagan's words. "That.. might be a good way to look at some of those messages," he chuckled lightly. It would certainly keep things interesting if nothing else. And speaking of messages it looks like Rea was getting one of her own. Ah, a sibling date! This made him smile and nod in understanding. "Best not to keep them waiting. Maybe I'll see you around."

FearlessLeader19 03-14-2023 12:04 AM

“Simply diabolical,’’ Rea commented, grinning for both of them since Christopher was suppressing his. Her grin only grew when he actually considered her words about codes. Yes, Reagan could be silly and it seemed that Christopher was learning this now. “Those two will never let me hear the end of it if I’m late! Maybe next time we can continue being this civil to each other. Oh, give that adorable nephew of yours a kiss for me!’’ Reagan winked, waved then strolled off. It had been a good day so far, and no doubt it would continue this way.

Scene 5:
Summer of 2110 - Rea’s about to embark on a new chapter of her life: WADA! But first, she needed new supplies and some pretty dresses for this chapter

Characters:
Christopher Michael Carter (Kolyander)
Reagan Aurora Anders (FearlessLeader19)

Reagan was beyond the moon about beginning her journey at WADA. That didn’t mean that she regretted hanging back one year while Jude graduated from Hogwarts. No, her time on tour with Koen had been absolutely smashing! The things and places she had seen! It was an experience she’d always remember. This was what the nineteen year old was reflecting on as she perused the streets of Diagon Alley. It was a nice sunny day and the sunshine hit her pleasantly on the face, shoulders and arms as her light yellow dress with white flowers had little sleeves and hung along the very upper parts of her arms. Sensible nude coloured flats adorned her small feet. Said feet took a pause. Okay, had she passed Scribbulus while being lost in her thoughts?? Rea could have sworn the shop was somewhere right here!

Kolyander 03-23-2023 04:03 PM

The months had moved swiftly by, keeping Christopher pleasantly busy as per usual. Between his own work and helping his sister with her bakery when she needed it and being an uncle to some seriously amazing teens/little kids, he couldn't complain with how things were going. He liked having things to do, it kept him focus and moving up the ladder to success which was just how he liked it.

Weekends were sometimes calmer days. Not always but sometimes. Today was one of those days were he was getting a few things done for himself. In and out of several shops getting the few things he needed from the list he had actually managed to make before leaving his apartment that morning. It was coming out of one of these shops that he saw a very familiar, yet puzzled face not to far up ahead of him. "Back from tour already?" he asked very casually, walking over to her.

FearlessLeader19 03-30-2023 12:29 AM

Uh huh.

She definitely passed the shop without realising it. An amusing thought came to mind: shopping in DA for academic supplies had not been done for a year and she seemingly had managed to lose her way around the place; a place that she had known like the back of her hand. “Might as well retrace my steps,’’ Rea mused silently. She turned around to do just that and came face to face with a certain someone.

“Christopher! Hi!’’ Um… when had she become so enthusiastic to see him? “Yes, I am! You heard that Jude and I got into WADA? Did Ko tell you?” Their auditions had been held last December and now the siblings would begin the Academy in September. Needless to say Reagan was excited. “How have you been?” And since when had he gotten so handsome?

Kolyander 03-31-2023 04:11 PM

...

Well, hello there! Christopher grinned at Reagan. "Reagan! Hey!" Yes, he might've been playing up her sudden enthusiasm to see him but this was eons better than her getting angry at him. "How was it? As amazing as you had thought it was going to be?" He hadn't had the chance to catch-up with Koen recently so he hadn't heard that the guy had gotten back yet but then again it did make sense when he had twins arriving very soon! Or had they been born already?

"I did. Congrats to you. Tell Jude, I said the same to him, yeah?" He would tell himself but he wasn't sure when he would see him. "When do you start?" Is that why she was in DA? Probably doing some shopping like he was. "I've been doing alright.. keeping busy as always but that's nothing unusual for me." Ahem, he was always handsome, thank you very much Little Miss Reagan.

FearlessLeader19 04-05-2023 11:07 PM

So he was just being nice to her because she was being nice to him? Reagan would be utterly annoyed if this were indeed the case. But in all honesty, she had gotten over being annoyed on the spot when she saw Christopher; it was as if they had never gotten off on the wrong foot on their very first meeting. “It was! And more! I got to see so many places, meet so many people!’’ Her eyes were shining with joy at the memories. “I think I’ve gotten a taste of what my future will be like.” When she became an actress, she meant. There would always be something to occupy her time!

Reagan beamed again, feeling all warm and fuzzy on the inside. For some reason, the ‘congrats’ coming from him meant a great deal. The realisation had her confused, which seemed to be the going emotion whenever Christopher was involved. “Thank you, from both of us! I’ll be sure to let Jude know as soon as I can.” She’d possibly be texting him since he and Davet were settling into their new place and this meant that Jude wasn’t around the Anders’ place as much. “In September, so a few weeks from now. But I’ll be around more because I opted not to stay in the WADA dorms. Apparition has its perks!” Rea was keen on hearing all about Christopher’s life. After all, it had been a while since they’d had time to catch up. “It’s definitely not. Both Cassie’s business and your regular job’s keeping you busy then? Oh, and Isaac? How is he, by the way?”

Kolyander 04-07-2023 02:11 PM

Yes and no. Christopher was always nice, despite what Reagan may think of him. However today he was purposely being a tad overly 'perky' because she seemed to be in sure a great mood... which for some strange reason he was finding to be.. cute. "I kept tabs on the tour a bit but it seems like the band was all over the place this time, hm?" It sounded like she had a very good time and he was happy for her that she had that sort of opportunity. "Hectic? Is that what you mean?" Chris chuckled lightly.

Nod nod. University was a big thing. She had every right to be excited. "Ah, well I'm always around so I'm sure we'll still bump into one another." It's not like he was all that difficult of a person to locate should she ever want to do so. Pretty much. He's good. They're all good." All of his nieces and nephews and that is. "Getting big."

FearlessLeader19 04-10-2023 01:56 PM

If he wanted to think he was always being nice, that was his wrong opinion. Had he ever taken a look at himself in terms of that aspect from someone else’s point of view? Reagan doubted it. But yes… she was in a great mood; she was also always this cute. Christopher just never bothered to take the time to notice the fact. “They were! I don’t know where they get the energy from to do so many shows.” Rea grinned. “No one seemed to mind though; I suppose that playing in front of sold out crowds does the trick.” She made a comical face. “That’s one way to put it.” The thought of being that busy made her hope that she’d still be able to make time for those who mattered in her life. It would be all about priority. “What’s that Muggle saying? ‘No pain, no gain’? I think that’s going to be my mantra if working extra hard is going to be the ‘pain’.”

Why did the young woman’s instincts told her that the two of them would keep running into each other? Surprisingly, she found that it wouldn’t be something she minded at all. So Rea nodded before the conversation continued about Christopher’s many nieces and nephews. She grinned. “I suppose I’ll see that first hand soon enough. Ko’s children grow a little more each time I see them, I swear.” What cute little twins they were! “Are you shopping for Isaac and the others? Is that what you’re doing in DA today?”

Kolyander 04-13-2023 04:14 PM

Excuse her! Um, no, he had not. Had she? Not that it mattered anyhow. He didn't want to dwell on the past and ruin a good moment between them. "I think the energy is a musician thing. It's all a part of the business." Having high energy was super important for a job like that. Imagine how it would look if they couldn't keep up? Christopher nodded. "That's right. The harder you work, the more you'll benefit from it." Or at least that's how it should be.

He wouldn't be at all surprised if they did. With how things were going right now, he wouldn't mind it either. "Don't blink, they might age a few years," he joked. Seriously though, babies grew so quickly! "Doing a bit of everything shopping actually. What about you?"

FearlessLeader19 04-16-2023 07:01 PM

Christopher would be right; they didn’t need to dwell on the past. Reagan found that she did this more each time she saw him. Hmm… his comment definitely made sense so she nodded. “Maybe I’ll borrow some from Koen and the others when I need it,’’ Rea joked. Maybe from Jude and Keighley too since they seemed to have an endless amount of energy. “That’s right. In my old age when I decide to retire.” She threw him a wink while wondering if that was the reason he worked so hard. Was it too much of a personal question to ask him? “Is that why you work so much?” Reagan asked cautiously.

The little lady chuckled. “They have no manners, disrespecting their elders by growing up that fast!’’ It was like the kiddos were in a rush to be kiddos. Well, it was a trap, younglins! “Same. I think I’m kinda lost though… um… isn’t Scribbulus nearby?” Cue her squinting at the various signs over Christopher's shoulder.

Kolyander 04-18-2023 04:51 PM

Perhaps if they went and did themselves a favor and left the past where it belonged, in the past, they could do rather nicely keeping things non-argumentative. He would have to agree that he thought they were doing well too. "If only it were that easy." Christopher chuckled lightly. The nieces and nephews had endless amounts of energy he could use. See? You already know what needs to be done then." Work hard now so that when she was older and unable to, she could relax a little more. "Part of the reason. I also like to work, it keeps me busy.. and out of trouble." Other good reasons to work hard.

"Right? You would think they would want to enjoy their time being kids." There were only so many years to enjoy childhood! Lost? Chris arched a brow at her. Did she just say she didn't know where Scribbulus was? Okay, she really had been gone a little while. "Yeah, it's back that was a couple of shops," he nodded his head and gestured a hand over his shoulder in the opposite direction. "Want some company so you don't get even more lost?" This was said with a hint of a teasing tone and a small grin.

FearlessLeader19 04-22-2023 05:47 PM

Reagan, for some reason, was very much determined to leave their past right behind him. She found that she wanted to continue getting to know this side of Christopher - the one who didn’t get on her nerves repeatedly. “I sure do!” She might as well work hard since she was young and had all this energy. “Uh huh… so does that mean you used to get into a lot of trouble then?” Rea was curious. She didn’t know much of Christopher’s past so it made sense to ask about it. The Christopher she knew was the caring and dedicated one, so it was difficult for her to imagine him getting into trouble.

Rea giggled. “Silly little kiddos!’’ Hearing that she had indeed passed the shop, she slapped her forehead. “One summer. I’ve been gone for one summer and I mixed all the shops up.” It didn’t embarrass her at all though; maybe Christopher understood? Yes, he definitely it. The offer that came made her face light up and set her heartbeats skipping. He might be teasing but Rea appreciated the offer. She thought that she was more glad for extended time with in his company, however. “I’d like that,’’ the little lady replied, beaming up at the WAY taller man. “If I wouldn’t be throwing you off of your schedule, that is.”

Kolyander 05-02-2023 03:04 PM

They were getting along and he was more than a little okay with that. He would take this over grumpy Reagan any day of the week. Christopher made a face. "Umm, lets just said that I had my moments. I wasn't always on my best behavior." Yeah, that was one way to put it for sure. How many times he had gotten himself into one form of trouble or another he wasn't even sure anymore but it hadn't ever been anything too serious. Which had been good for him that it didn't mess up his future.

Silly kiddos for sure but they were certainly adorable too. Christopher chuckled. "It's not that big of a deal. You'll remember where everything is again in no time at all." Was it that smile on Reagan's face right then or the fact that she had accepted his offer that made him smile as well? He wasn't sure honestly but it was happening. There was a smile on his and he was already nodding his head. "Not at all. I've got time." And if he didn't, he would make time. Had he just thought that? Yes. Yes, he had.

"Come on, it's back this way."

FearlessLeader19 05-05-2023 12:00 PM

Well excuse him!

Reagan was not grumpy, ever! Not on her own at least; there always was someone who got her that way. That person was mostly Christopher Michael Carter. Anyway, she eyed him mainly out of curiosity. Already Rea wanted to know what some of those bad behaviours were but figured she shouldn’t push it. Perhaps someday Christopher might tell her all about it. “I think the important thing is that you’ve pulled yourself together.”

Ugh! Since when did he have such a cute smile? And since when did she begin thinking about him like THAT? “I hope so. I suppose a brief stroll through Diagon Alley would help.” Rea would make sure to take a glance at each sign on the shops. Why did it make her heart happy that Christopher had time to spend with her? Um… this was turning out to be a very confusing day.

“Right beside you.’’ Rea fell in step beside him, feeling shorter than ever but still smiling radiantly nevertheless.

Kolyander 05-05-2023 04:35 PM

Oh, come on. How was it that she was always trying to make it out that this was his fault? Chris saw the look of curiosity in her eyes but being she didn't ask, he didn't give out anymore information on that topic. Why give out more about himself if he didn't need to? They might run out of things to chat about if he did. "I did. And I like to think I did a decent job at it." He was doing pretty well for himself now.

Since always, dearest Reagan! Perhaps she just needed to pay a bit closer attention to what a good guy he actually is. "That's not too hard to do. Easily done when you're not alone." However she might not pay very much attention to each of the shops if she had company while taking a stroll through Diagon Alley.

"So I've noticed," he chuckled, grinning down at her. Okay, but like.. that smile of hers. Dear Merlin help him if she kept that up.

FearlessLeader19 05-12-2023 01:41 AM

Because it was fun, Christopher? And because you made it easy for her to blame you.

Indeed Reagan was curious but she didn’t want to pry. She felt that since they had only just begun getting along without going into any sort of misunderstanding, it was best she leave any potentially touchy subject away from their conversations. “Probably because you were afraid that Cassie would jinx you if you didn’t,’’ she remarked casually and innocently.

She DID pay attention. This was how she happened to know that Christopher was a doting uncle and brother. Someday he’d make a great father, if he wanted kids. But Rea wasn’t about to tell him that! The compliment would swell his head and lift him off the ground. As it was, she was grateful to have his company at present and would certainly be paying attention to him. Christopher really need not worry about it!

“Just don’t… walk any faster? I think one of your strides is two of mine.” Rea frowned slightly as though actually trying to figure out if this were true. Without really thinking about it, the little lady threaded an arm around Christopher’s closest as though attempting to keep him matched to her her pace.

Kolyander 05-13-2023 02:09 PM

Rude, much Reagan. Rude.

This was fair. Some subjects could be touch and go depending on how they came about in the first place anyhow. If it came up into a conversation he might not have an issue talking about it but sometimes certain things were best left for another day. Why ruin one of their first good talks with nothing of true importance about his younger years. "I honestly wouldn't have put it past her." He was sure there had been a time or two over the years were a good hexing would have been deserved.

Aye', the thought of being a father one day had crossed his mind on an occasion or two but that would take the proper person to come into his life at the correct time. So far things just hadn't gone that way for him. Not that he was in any real rush at all for that to happen. He was quite content with life and happy to take each day as it came along.

"It's not my fault you've got tiny little legs and even tinier feet," Chris teased her, a playful grin on his, quicken his stride for a split second or two as she took hold of his arm before slowing down to try to match her footsteps.

FearlessLeader19 05-17-2023 11:17 PM

For Christopher, she’d be all the rude.

Agreed. And any divulgement of his past was best left for another day. As it was, Reagan found herself enjoying this present company quite well enough and would rather not spoil the atmosphere. She giggled, allowing her imagination to run wild with a scenario where Cassie jinxed Christopher so that he had a pair of purple tentacles protruding from the sides of his head.

It was quite a hilarious piece of imagery if you asked her.

Well, in that case, Rea would wish Christopher all the luck in finding his person. Because even though it had been easy setting up Jude and Keighley, she found it difficult to play matchmaker for herself. Guys her age were still idiots for the most part. Finding one’s ideal match was quite a chore.

Reagan gasped in mock shock and anger. “How rude of you, Sir!’’ She slapped his arm with her free hand. It was a good thing that he decided to slow down because if he hadn’t, Rea would have ended up actually jogging to keep up. “It’s no fault of mine that you have the feet size of the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk!’’ She too was joking as was evident from the smile on her face.

Kolyander 05-25-2023 02:16 PM

Harsh. And here he was being nice to her.

Perhaps at some point in the future there would be a time that they could sit down and he would tell her all the things he had done. She could then say what a knucklehead of a young man he had been. "And just what is so funny?" Christopher asked, arching a brow at her when her heard her giggling.

This was something he understood. It was easier helping others to see who they fit with but when it came to himself, well he never had luck with that.

Chris chuckled. "Why is it that everything is always MY fault?" He grinned at her to show that he knew she was joking as well.

FearlessLeader19 05-30-2023 11:00 PM

Fear not, Christopher! She’d be nice to you for now.

Reagan didn’t know if they would turn out to be that good of friends, that they’d share the type of relationship where he’d want to confess his most embarrassing moments to her but Rea was one hundred percent certain that she’d call him a knucklehead regardless. Between giggles, she told him the scenery in her head. “Cassie jinxed you so that you’d have purple tentacles coming out of your temples.”

Good question, Christopher. “Because it’s fun and convenient to blame you. Wasn’t it obvious?” Rea questioned innocently, peering up at him. From her expression, he’d notice that she too was pulling his leg.

Kolyander 05-31-2023 03:08 PM

For now was good enough. It was better than not at all.

Whatever this was, it was them not arguing and he was going to call that a win. As for what they were to each other, well he hadn't a clue but they could figure that out in time. All he knew was that currently those giggles of hers were rather cute. "Purple, huh? I'm not sure purple is my color." He joked, grinning at her.

"Ah, well then I'll have to remember this for now on whenever I need someone to blame for something and you're around." Christopher gave her a light nudge with his elbow. He too could play this game.

FearlessLeader19 06-06-2023 12:25 AM

Reagan would have been so very flattered if she had known Christopher’s thoughts. In any case, he was in luck because she was about to erupt in more giggles. If he kept this up, she just might set a record of Most Giggles In A Day. “No?” Rea questioned. “I think it would look quite smashing on you, honestly. Both the tentacles and the colour purple.” Yes, she was being cheeky. “What’s your colour then?” Because this young lady was quite curious and genuinely wanted to know.

“Really, Christopher?” She craned her head to the side for a bit. “Do you honestly think that anyone would believe you over me? Innocent, cute, little me?” Then she elbowed him back, albeit a little rougher because troubling him this much was too much fun and she was very enthusiastic about it.

Kolyander 06-07-2023 09:14 PM

Hey, she never knew, one of these days he might just tell her so. Until then though he was just going to be keeping his thoughts to himself. Maybe. Unless she broke that record. Then he just might have to comment on it. "Nope." Christopher answered, trying to keep as straight a face as possible. "And you know what I think? I think you've right went and lost your mind," he teased, laughing lightly. "Red. Or blue. Green even works too if you like." All three were good colors. And he was even being kind and not saying black.

Oh, so she was going to do this again, was she? Chris tilted his head slightly as well in mock imitation of her. "Innocent? Really, Reagan? Are you sure you want to go there and try to play that card with me?" His grin was a playful one and lucky for her, he wasn't even going to elbow her back this time least he end up knocking her over or something!

FearlessLeader19 06-10-2023 01:31 PM

The day Christopher told her THAT was the day that Reagan might actually be speechless for once. As it was, since this was the furthest sort of thought from her mind, she focused on the amusing chatter they were having. Rea pouted and scrunched up her face, perhaps making her face one of the most unattractive in the process. “Only now you’ve figured that I’ve lost my mind?” she questioned with a laugh. “All those colours would suit you?” she continued, nodding in agreement. “You’re the kind of guy who can pull off any of them.” Please don’t ask her how she knew this.

“Of course!’’ Didn’t Christopher know that Reagan was headstrong, even in light moments such as this one? “You know you’d lose, so don’t hang onto any hope.” Grinning, and clearly pleased with herself, the young woman scanned the shops. Were they nearly to Scribbulus or had they passed the place?

Kolyander 06-16-2023 03:23 PM

That day would come. Just not today. Right now they were in the middle of a discussion that already caught his attention. Nah, he doubted that was true. "Do you think I'm even going to answer that?" Really, Reagan. He wasn't going to put himself in the position to get yelled at again. "You bet I can." Christopher winked at her playfully. "See, someone who knows how good I look no matter the color." Was he joking? No. There wasn't a color that looked bad on him and he was seriously lucky about that.

Ha! How could anyone NOT know? "Lose? Only if I LET you win, Little One." He grinned at her. There was a pause in his steps then and a glance left to right, a small chuckle slipping past his lips as he cast a quick look over his shoulder. "We uh, past it. Scribbulus. It's one shop back." That's what happens when they joke around and don't pay attention. Which wasn't a bad thing.

FearlessLeader19 06-21-2023 12:48 PM

Yes, this was an important discussion; one that Reagan was loving completely. She made a silly face then stuck her nose in the air. “You don’t have to but I think I already know your answer!” And just look at him being a fast learner! Rea would be rather pleased that he’d finally injected some sense into that brain of his. In reply to the wink, her tongue was stuck out briefly. “Oh my! Say that again and I think your head will swell to the amount that it needs to lift you off the ground.”

He was SO insufferable! But Rea wasn’t mad at Christopher; just highly amused. “Maybe you’ve finally met your match. Ever thought about that, Christopher Michael Carter?" Here, the little one poked the giant one on his arm. Oh… they HAD passed the shop. “Okay, back we go!’’ And now she was tugging on his arm.

Kolyander 06-23-2023 11:28 PM

The silly face and nose in the air almost made him laugh. Almost. If they weren't having such a 'serious' conversation. "You sound like you expect to go ahead and say something that would get me into trouble." No, not him. Not today, Reagan. He had a sister, he knew how this game went. Chris smirked in response to her silliness. "Hey, you're the one that said I'm the kind of guy that can pull off any of them." He was only agreeing with what she had said!

Glad that he could be of amusement to her. "Nope, that's just not going to happen," he laughed. And now he was being tugged back in the opposite direction. "Not too far. Only one shop back. So let's not pace it up again.
"
This meant it only took them a moments time to get to where they had been aiming to go in the first place.

"Here we are!" Christopher reached out and pulled the shop door open for Rea to go ahead inside, he would follow behind her.

FearlessLeader19 06-27-2023 01:12 PM

It was definitely a good thing that Christopher didn’t laugh, otherwise Reagan would have punched him in the arm. Playfully, of course. “Well, you never know what game is afoot,’’ she declared, a heavy air of mystery surrounding her words. Not the ominous sort of mystery, but the sort that would tend to keep one hooked. “Yes, I suppose. Though… when you agreed, it seems like your ego got boosted a thousand times more. But I’ll let you have this moment.” So go ahead, Christopher. Enjoy it!

It was lots of fun getting to drag Christopher around. Admittedly it couldn’t exactly be classified as dragging when he was much stronger than she was; at least he was game with putting up with her. It turned out they needn’t go back a far distance. Before Rea knew it, they were right where she wanted to be. “Thank you!’’ Quite happily, she went through the door before turning abruptly to stare up at Christopher. “I just realised how much I must already put you off of your schedule. So um, it’s okay if you have to leave.” Yet part of her was saying it wasn’t okay because Reagan found herself hoping he didn’t have anything better to do. Or just as bad, be on his way to meet a beautiful woman for a date. The latter thought made her scowl and turn away to stalk into the shop.

Kolyander 06-30-2023 02:40 PM

A punch on the arm actually would've made the man laugh. So it could've been an interesting turn of events there for him. "With you around there always seems to be some sort of mystery game that I'm playing." He told her with a cheeky tone. Hooked like a fish caught. Yeah, he was getting there. Reagan was ever the entertaining one for sure and kept him very curious. "Do I need a boosted ego when it's the truth?" This time he winked at her. Oh, he knew that he was a good-looking guy and he wasn't afraid to admit it.

No, no. The smaller one was indeed dragging him around. On the account that he was allowing her to but it counted and it appeared to make her smile so, why not? "No problem." He hadn't minded taking the walk with her. In fact it had been a nice one. Chris raised a brow at her as he was pretty sure he had told her earlier that he didn't mind and that he wasn't all that busy to begin with. And yet she just went from thanking him to almost acting like she was trying to get rid of him? Umm, what had just happened? He frowned slightly seeing the scowl on her face as she left him standing there confused and unsure if he should even follow her into the shop or not.

FearlessLeader19 07-02-2023 11:45 PM

Reagan stuck out her tongue, a cheeky gesture that was sure to match that cheeky tone of his. “If I didn’t know any better, I would say that you sound quite intrigued with all this mystery.” She meant it as a joke, and hadn’t the slightest inkling that there might be some truth to her words. It would have been quite flattering to her had she known, however. “Want it, maybe not? Still got a boosted ego though? Yes, you did.” Rea smiled sweetly at Christopher.

Yes, ‘dragging’ him around certainly made this little lady smile. It couldn’t be helped if she liked having his company. Reagan quite liked the way Christopher kept her laughing and kept up with the bantering. So while he may have told her that he wasn’t busy, Reagan went and did the thing that was quite unlike her: she sabotaged a good thing. Maybe Christopher had only told her that he had the time because he was being nice.

Even as she was walking away Rea was tempted to look over her shoulder at him but she didn’t. What she wanted more than anything was for him to follow her and tell her that he’d rather browse all of Diagon Alley with her. She instead proceeded to hide herself among the shelves of Scribbulus.

Kolyander 07-07-2023 07:20 PM

The action had him finally chuckling, reminding him of his youngest niece and nephew. "A little mystery in my life isn't a bad thing." Not so much to turn his life on its head but enough to keep him interested, yes. He wasn't fully aware of it himself right than but he knew he didn't mind talking with her. "Either way, Little One, I'll take it." That smile of hers, well.. it got his attention more than it used to and he had to smile right back at her.

There was a time where he wouldn't have allowed this but now, he didn't mind it. He certainly didn't mind that it was her dragging him around. Her company was growing on him, he was enjoying it more than he cared to admit. Perhaps one day Reagan would come to see that when he said something he meant it. So when he had told her that he wasn't busy, it was true.

Which was why after a full minute or two of standing outside the shop and staring at the door that had closed behind her when she had gone inside without him, he had made up his mind. Tugging the door open before he could change his mind, he stepped inside to look for her.

Now where had she gone? He needed to know what that had been all about.

FearlessLeader19 07-09-2023 12:41 PM

Christopher had been right earlier: a little mystery in his life wasn’t a bad thing. Reagan was sure that she had dropped a huge slab of mystery on him by leaving him trying to figure out why there was a sudden change in attitude in her. Even Reagan was baffled about it. This behaviour was quite unlike her. Jealousy… it was not her thing. That trait just wasn’t something that ran in the Anders’ family. Yet, here she was, standing alone in a stationery shop, full of jealousy at the thought of Christopher meeting another woman for a date.

The young lady frowned at the shelful of Anti-Cheating quills as she attempted to put things into perspective. She had known for a bit now that her initial dislike for him had long evaporated, and his company had grown on her. In fact, she may like his company too much… And then it hit Rea.

She was romantically attracted to Christopher.

The realisation hit her like an almighty thump from the Whomping Willow {of course, the thump came from her imagination as she had no idea what one would actually feel like}. Here it was… Rea had always told Keighley and Jude that she would rather date an older guy because they were mature. Along had come Christopher: older by eleven years, sophisticated, funny, mature, caring and handsome.

But none of this mattered, did it? The chances of him feeling that way about her were one in a million. Especially when he probably had a ton of lady friends to keep him company. Yes, that was the sort of vibe she had gotten off him. And especially not since he had already gone on his way and not given a second thought about her.

Reagan suddenly wanted to sob her heart out.

Kolyander 07-15-2023 01:06 PM

Christopher would have agreed. A little mystery never really hurt no one.
What it did do, was sometimes leave people very confused. Like now. Had he said or done something to have upset her enough where she left him standing there without much explanation? Even as he had replayed the last few minutes over and over again in his head, he couldn't put his finger on anything. They had been getting along great! Better than ever before, if he was being completely honest with himself.

So.. what had gone wrong?

He wasn't sure if entering the shop after her was a good or bad idea but maybe it give him some sort of clue as to what was going on. Only he didn't see her anywhere.. not that it was difficult to lose someone in a shop, especially one of smaller stature and when they didn't enter the shop together. So this left him sighing deeply, running a hand through his hair as he wandered a few of the aisles. "Rea?" He tried calling out her name but also didn't want to shout because he had respect for those around him as well.

FearlessLeader19 07-17-2023 11:16 PM

It was all so overwhelming, these emotions that she was feeling. Reagan was quite sure that had she stood there in her emotions any longer hadn’t it been for that voice calling her name. Her nickname too. Surprised out of her wits about whose voice it was, she spun around in the direction the voice came from. He hadn’t left after all. Rea wasn’t sure of what to make of this and actually considered staying silent and also hiding from him. But that would be too dramatic and immature, wouldn’t it? Merlin knew that she had already been that way with him today.

“Chris?” Listen, Reagan was still surprised that he was actually there {so surprised she had used the shortened version of his name when she usually called him ‘Christopher’}. She walked into view, frowning slightly.

Now though? Now Reagan was looking at Christopher in a different light and could not deny the fact that she indeed was crushing on him.

Kolyander 07-26-2023 08:32 PM

With his complete unawareness of what was going on within Reagan's head currently, Chris was thoroughly confused when he didn't see her anywhere in the shop right away. Where had she gone in two minutes? Was she really hiding from him? That couldn't be, could it? He still had no idea what had gone wrong for her to had left him standing alone outside like she had when things had been going so well. So clearly Rea had to be just looking for whatever she had come in here for and that's why he wasn't seeing her right away.

Ah, there she was! Chris smiled a but when she finally emerged from whenever she had been moments earlier. Did she seemed surprised to see him? "Yeah, it's me.. is-.. are you alright? You left pretty quickly and didn't give me a chance to even reply to you." What had been up with that Reagan? Didn't she want him to join her still or had she had enough of him already?

FearlessLeader19 07-28-2023 12:20 AM

Rea stood there eyeing him, trying to get a read on his expressions. His smile told her that he was glad to see her again, though they had only been separated for like five minutes. And yes, she could see it was him quite clearly. It was just that surprise had taken over her that he was still hanging around. Had he been seeking her out? The thought oddly flattered her.

She felt her cheeks flush in embarrassment. “I’m fine,’’ Rea mumbled, not looking up to meet his eyes. “I just thought… nevermind.” Christopher didn’t need to be bothered by her silly thoughts. Her, had enough of his company? No, she doubted that she ever would have enough of it. “Pull yourself together, Reagan! There’s zero chance of him liking you back!’’ came her silent chide. Out loud, the young lady asked, “Do you want to give that answer now?''

Kolyander 08-04-2023 04:15 PM

For a brief moment in time there, he sort of felt like she was unsure of his actions. And this was kinda throwing him for a loop. Why wouldn't he come into the shop and check on her after she'd taken off like that? There hadn't been any arguing or anything. He couldn't get it out of his head, what was it that had happened?

Then.. there was this. Some flushed cheeks and mumbled words he barely managed to catch. "Are you sure? Because it didn't seem like it." Consider him puzzled. Christopher ran a hand through his hair, his blue eyes still fixed on the young lady standing before him. "I can. Now if you would've waited around long enough to let me answer you, you would've found out that I have nothing else to do that I can't do later on. Therefore if you want the company, I'm still here." The tone he spoke with was still quite soft and easy, nothing bitter about her darting off on him a few minutes earlier.

FearlessLeader19 08-06-2023 10:35 AM

Oh, he was so right!

Reagan was definitely unsure of his actions though she did know that a huge part of her was thrilled that he had come after her. The remainder of her was suddenly ashamed of her actions. What had come over her to make her act in that manner? Almost as soon as the question crossed her mind, the actress knew: she had been incredibly jealous at the thought of Christopher having a date with someone else.

Rea blushed further but this time, met his gaze. “I’ll be fine. Honestly. I just… had a moment.” Could they leave it at that or she was sure she’d pass out from embarrassment. Hold on. Christopher wanted to stay with her? Rea’s heart swelled with happiness but she was determined not to let it show too much. Instead, she smiled {even if it was a tad sheepishly}. “I’d like that.” More than he knew! “Maybe we can pick something up for that cute little nephew of yours while we’re at it?” Rea longed to thread her arm through his again but now that she had understood her feelings for Christopher, she couldn’t help but feel a little self conscious.

How silly was that?

Kolyander 08-09-2023 02:40 PM

Was it really so hard for people to believe that he was simply a nice guy and had moved on from how he was for a bit in his younger years? That was a long time ago and times have changed a great deal from then. He had grown up and learned many of life's little lessons along the way. Some the hard way. If Chris had even the smallest inkling of what was going on in Rea's heads, he could've very easily squished those thoughts of hers. He hadn't have any interest in dating in quite some time, having chosen to focus on his career and family after two previously rather nasty break-ups some years earlier.

Don't mind him for being seriously confused by her pink cheeks and her following words. What did she mean by 'Had a moment?' He wanted to ask but at the same time, he didn't want to fluster her anymore than she already seemed to be. "Okay, then. If you say so." The former conversation would be dropped for her sake and his sanity.. all he needed right then was for them to end up arguing over something he wasn't even sure of. As long as she was smiling and they were talking, all was good and he was happy. "Great. Yeah? He'd definitely like that." What kid didn't like getting presents for no reason? None that he knew of. "You can help me pick something for his little sister too. Can't get something for one and not the other." Gotta be fair. Should probably pick up a little something for the others too.

"Are you finished here then or do you need help finding whatever it is you came in here for?" And there he went being all nice again.

Reagan didn’t have all the facts about Christopher's dating history but her brain couldn’t help but make up a story earlier about him having a date with a woman his age. Because why would he be interested in her, his good friend’s sister who was way younger? And who had spent a great deal of her time annoying him?

She could easily tell that he wanted to press the matter, even if he refrained. Rea was secretly grateful it was the latter because she didn’t see how she could get away with being dishonest. She simply left the matter at the point where Christopher dropped the matter. Later, when she was alone, she was going to replay this entire scene and beat herself up about being a drama queen. Though, it probably would have helped to know that he didn’t want to spend time arguing with her. That probably would have melted her heart.

“We can pick out for every niece and nephew of yours.’’ Rea willed her flushed cheeks to return to normal. “What are their favourite colours? And do you know what type of stationery they like best?’’ These were just some basic questions so that she could narrow down what to get the babies. “I haven’t started as yet. We can get everything at the same time.” And maybe they both could forget about her embarrassing moment. “Come on.” She led the way over to the quills.

Kolyander 08-17-2023 12:30 AM

No, she didn't. Maybe there would come a day when they would sit down and discuss things such as that. Right now, it didn't occur to him that she was thinking about his past relationships at all. There were a few he didn't care to remember if he could help it.

Sometimes things were left best unbothered. This was one of this. That's how he saw it. There was no need to push matters anymore into topics that could cause unnecessary arguments. If no one walked off again today without explanation, then all would be well.

All of them? Their ages ranged from nearly seventeen to two years old. She was talking about a lot of kids to shop for today. "Uhh, there's a bunch of them and keeping track of favorite colors and all that.. it gets.. complicated." Mostly with the girls when they constantly changed their minds about what they liked and didn't like. "I'm following you then and trusting your instincts." This was her idea after all! Chris followed her over to the quills, trying to take in all the different colors and types.

FearlessLeader19 08-22-2023 01:13 AM

Perhaps. Maybe.

Reagan didn’t know. She wanted to know everything but at the same time she didn’t want to. She had only just realised that she was crushing on Christopher but already she felt rather threatened by the prospect of finding out about his dating life. It was quite baffling for her, this insecurity.

Despite herself, Rea smiled. “I really have no idea how you keep track of them all in the first place.” Three siblings, and now a pair of nieces were difficult enough to keep up with. There was also the large amount of cousins she had… so yes, Rea understood how confusing it could get. “How about this? I select one quill for each of them. That way, the older have a new writing apparatus and the younger ones will have something to doodle with.” As an afterthought, she added, “I’ll get a couple extras just in case your aging brain forgot someone.” Reagan gave her future husband Christopher a cheeky smile as she gazed up at him.

Kolyander 08-24-2023 11:43 PM

At some point in the future he would openly answer anything that she wanted to know. He really has nothing at all to hide when it came to his past or current non-existent relationships.

"Carefully, that's how." Chris chuckled lightly to indicate that he had only been joking about this. It was easier now that they were all older he thought, several years ago when he had met most of them he had such a difficult time remembering their names and ages. "That could work," he agreed giving a nod of his head. Sending her a fake frown at her comment. "Hey now, I'm nowhere near old, thank you very much." It wasn't his fault she was such a young adult still.

FearlessLeader19 08-29-2023 11:54 PM

Non-existent.

Right.

Reagan would not believe it even if he told her this right there and then. It just seemed impossible that a man such as him wasn’t at least pursuing someone, much less a couple someones weren’t pursuing him. He made her giggle with his response, which she knew that he was kidding about. “It will work,’’ Rea said with the utmost certainty. Her gaze was torn away from Christopher as she diverted attention to select a mixture of the prettiest eagle and peacock quills. But she was grinning. “Suit yourself. I’m sure there will be greys sprouting from your head soon enough.” He’d be such a cute silver fox!

“There! That should be enough for the nieces and nephews.” Rea was silent for a moment as she chose three more: an eagle one for her and Jude each, a peacock one for Keighley. “Which would you prefer, anyway, Christopher?”

Kolyander 08-30-2023 06:30 PM

Obviously she wouldn't believe it. Reagan only believed what she wanted to. He knew this much already. Which was why she didn't know he wasn't dating right now or that he hadn't been in awhile. If anyone was into him, well that was an entirely different story and he honestly didn't care. Chris just wasn't interested in anyone right now. Maybe.

He grinned at her when she laughed knowing that his comment had been rather funny. "I'm trusting you with this." A cheeky look was given to her while she already began picking out a bunch of quills for all of his nieces and nieces. [B]"The only reason I would get grays is from you,"[B] He joked lightly. There was no way he was ready for that!

He looked over at her. [B]"I sure hope so. Looks like you got enough for everyone including you're family too."[B] Everyone was sure to like this. [B]"Me? Uhhh, eagle I guess."[B] That one suited him more, yeah?

FearlessLeader19 09-05-2023 12:22 AM

That…

That wasn't true, was it? Reagan had never thought of that because it was only with Christopher that she acted that way. For some reason, with him, she was insecure and that fact something she was yet to fully comprehend. What she did know and understand fully was that he wasn’t into her; it would have made her both mad and sad had he said out loud he wasn’t into anyone, specifically her.

“There isn’t anyone you can trust more than me.” Rea paused thoughtfully. “Except Cassie.” There was no way she would be coming in between that relationship, just as how it was expected that no one come in the way of hers with her siblings. “Oh, ha ha ha. Aren’t you the hilarious one?” But the little lady was chuckling. Yes, she could see quite clearly how she would be the root cause for Christopher’s gray hair. “Maybe gray would suit you.”

Rea nodded vigorously. “Quills for everyone,’’ she remarked, selecting the handsomest eagle feather quill for Christopher. “Good choice! Okay, now I just have to grab some other stuff then I can go pay for everything. Keep up, Christopher!’’ Because already Reagan was stalking down the aisle, in the look out for coloured parchment.

Kolyander 09-08-2023 10:26 PM

Ahem, point firmly noted. That's how she is with him. It might not have been something she had taken notice of yet but but he had. She had always been a little more feisty around him and honestly, he really hadn't thought too much of it since how their run-in at the wedding had not gone so well. He knew this wasn't always how she was, their last few interactions had shown him that they could actually get along.

Christopher arched a brow at Reagan. "Oh, really now? Not even the rest of my family or Koen?" There was a small playfully smirk that tugged at his lips while he spoke, seeing as to how he had already said he trusted her and all. "You're welcome, you're welcome," he replied this time, a grin on his face as he even took a deep bow just to continue forth with his joking around. "Perhaps, in a thirty or forty years maybe I'll consider it." Right now he wouldn't be doing so.

"Do you want some help carrying any of that?" She was holding quite the amount of quills right now. And what was this about her paying for everything? "You don't have to do that." That was a lot of people for her to be paying quills for! Ha! She thought he couldn't keep up? Had she forgotten whom was the taller of the two. Chris had no trouble falling in stride beside her in search of whatever it was she needed to find now.

FearlessLeader19 09-11-2023 01:40 AM

Christopher really should not flatter himself: Reagan was quite feisty with everyone else. But she could actually be this way with him, even if it was not something yet recognised by her. Perhaps it was due to the fact that he had irked her tremendously at Koen’s wedding. The fact that they could get along… well, Rea honestly liked it when they were on proper speaking terms. That was possibly going to change if it was ever known that she was now crushing on him.

“Even them,’’ the little lady replied, sticking her nose in the air in mock haughtiness but laughing a second later. What was unknown to her was his trust in her, and what was unknown to him was that she felt very safe in his presence. Then there was more laughter when he bowed. Oh, goodness? HOW could she NOT be attracted to him? He was plainly everything she had been looking for. “Remember me in thirty to forty years then!” There would be no need for her to tell him about the painful stab that went through her heart when she thought about him living his life when they possibly won’t see each other much, if at all. Life always got busy, after all.

“I got it, I got it!’’ Hello, she was Miss Independent, Christopher! She ignored the protest about her paying for everything. Silly, silly giant. This wasn’t your idea, it was hers! Anyway, it turned out that she DID need his help. “Can you grab some regular parchment and some of that light green ones? Please. Thanks.” Rea smiled sweetly. “You can carry those for me.”

Kolyander 09-11-2023 04:39 PM

How was he supposed to know how she acted around everyone else? What was important here was how she acted towards him. Which was progressively better and better each time they seemed to run into one another now, minus the little bit of weirdness that had happened earlier. It looked like they were passed that now so he wasn't going to be bringing any of that up anytime soon.

"Don't go telling any of them about this," Chris laughed lightly along with her. Their trust in each other would eventually make itself known, maybe not today but one day. Hey, even he had playful moments and liked making others laugh. Remember you? Why, are you planning on going away for thirty or forty years?" Because why would he forget her or anything.

"Okay, okay," he put his hands up in mock surrender. If she wanted to carry that many quills on her own, then he would let her. What did it matter whose idea it was? It was his family, was it not? But he did appreciate her being so generous. He would repay her at some point in time though, that's just how he was. Oh, look who didn't need his help just a minute ago needing his help now. Chris smirked at her. "Ah, now you need me to help you." He remarked lightly, grabbing the parchment and some light green ones as well. "Anything else you need?"

FearlessLeader19 09-18-2023 05:54 PM

How about finding out about each of her behaviours, Christopher? Just joking, that would be awfully stalkerish. However, he was correct in knowing how she acted towards him. Hopefully sometime soon he’d understand that Reagan was attracted to him. And perhaps one day, she would tell him all about why the earlier dramatics had taken place.

“I’d have to completely lose my mind to want to tell them any such thing,” Reagan replied with a laugh. She wasn’t here to take Christopher’s trust away from anyone. “Oh, you just never know where life will take us!’’ she continued brightly, though it felt as though she were dying on the inside at the thought of them drifting apart. “In that amount of years, you could be married and have a dozen kids.” A family that will occupy all of his time, see?

Rea would never entertain any talk of being repaid so don’t you dare try it again, Christopher! Just continue to be her lovely assistant presently. She made a face at him. “Yes, and I know you will, given that you’re such a gentleman.” Smiling, Rea ran through a mental list of all she needed to get from the shop. “No, that’s it. To the counter we go!” Already she was off in that direction, trusting Christopher to be right behind her.

Kolyander 09-22-2023 04:40 PM

In due time he would learn more about her and all of her behaviors. The good and the bad. In turn she would learn all of his. This would take time however, all depending on how Reagan continued to act towards him whenever they ran into one another whenever they were out and about. As for him realizing that she had feelings for him.. it might happen. It also might not, even if she was completely obvious about it because he didn't always see things like that. And he wasn't trying to.

Ah, there was Reagan thinking ahead! She knew how Cassie and Koen would likely feel about being 'replaced' in the ladder of whom he trusted most. Chris laughed as well, knowing full well they were both only joking and no one was really getting replaced. Married with a dozen kids?! No, thank you! He stared at her for a very long moment before finally speaking. "I don't want that many kids. I have enough nieces and nephews to know that I'd go crazy if I did." Two kids. Maybe three. That was it for him. Though the sound of one was always nice.

He might not bring it up while they were here in this shop but he was going to repay her. It may not even be today! For all she knew, it could end up being in the form of those yummy churros he knew she loved so much from his sister's bakery. She was right about one thing, he was a gentleman. Which was why he carried all of the parchment she had selected to the counter. "Right behind you."

FearlessLeader19 09-24-2023 11:29 PM

Reagan would just be herself around him: a lot loud, a little weird, always ready to tease him, and very friendly with him. Those are some of the traits Christopher would always see with her. What he would not see was her budding romantic feelings for him. At least she didn’t plan on flaunting it because that would mean setting herself up for heartbreak if she got too invested in her little crush.

Rea turned her gaze at him when she didn’t hear him speak for a bit. She was surprised to find him watching her and there was a sense of apprehension on her part that she had said something wrong. “Oh.” The little lady was slightly taken aback even though she wasn’t sure what to have expected to hear. “Yes, I suppose that makes sense.” Whomever Christopher chose to have as his wife, she would be very lucky. Reagan felt her stomach squirm with jealousy against this unknown woman, but she smiled. “I hope you get all that you want, Christopher.” Those words were sincere.

HE WOULD MOST CERTAINLY WOULD NOT! Reagan would NOT allow it! Though… she would not say no to the occasional churro. “I like that you can keep up, senior citizen,’’ Rea teased while the purchases were being totalled. She made sure to pay hastily lest Christopher got any ideas. He did not, thankfully and she held out the package for his nieces and nephews to him. “Here you are!”

Kolyander 09-26-2023 03:28 PM

Those were the traits he could handle. That was the Reagan he had grown used to over the last couple of years. Anything else might completely throw him for a loop and a very confused wasn't a good Christopher. Neither of them would get anywhere at all then. Confusion didn't look good on him.

He hadn't realized at all that his silence had caused her apprehension. In fact, he didn't even notice that anything was wrong. Christopher simply thought they were having a conversation and nothing more at the moment. Sorry, Reagan. "Do you see yourself with dozens of little ones someday?" Dozens was quite the number, did she know? In his head just one dozen was too many! That many children wasn't for him. "Mm, I'm a long way from that, I think." He had to find someone he connected well with first!

YES HE WOULD! She can't deny something she didn't know he was doing if it didn't happen anytime soon. Knowing him though, he would forgot so.. she had nothing to worry about. Churros, he wouldn't forget. "Excuse you, little miss, you better watch it or I might just step on you," he smirked at her teasingly. "Thanks, I'll be sure to let them know that these are from you." He took the package from her and moved to hold open the door for her so they could step back outside.

FearlessLeader19 10-04-2023 11:58 PM

Then maybe it was a good thing she didn’t plan on expressing her feelings to him, since it would most likely confuse the heck out of him. Yes, it was indeed better that she kept this to herself, though she would definitely be sharing this development with Keighley and Jude. Rea guessed it was okay he didn’t notice her current strange reactions. The poor guy would probably start thinking she was dramatic off stage as she was on stage. Christopher’s question made her smile. “That’s Jude’s wish. Me, I’ll be happy with two. Maybe three. Children can be quite a handful and I don’t think I’ll have the energy to keep up.” She was being honest. Being an actress wouldn’t be an issue because Rea intended to put her family first; this was the way she had been raised. “Any longer and you’ll be heading down the aisle with a walker.” She stuck her tongue out in sheer cheek.

UGH!!! If she ever figured out what you were up to, Christopher Michael Carter…!!! “PFFFT! I’d like to see you try!” Rea might only come up to around Christopher’s chest but her huge personality certainly made up for what she lacked in height. “Okay, that’s fine by me!’’ After ducking out of the shop with a soft 'thank you' for him opening the door, she turned to face her company. “Guess I’d better be getting home now.” The disappointment was carefully kept out of her voice.

Kolyander 10-07-2023 02:21 PM

That might have been the case had she told him right then about how she felt but then again, he may have very well surprised her. Lately he had been surprising himself. This entire run-in with her this afternoon had been nothing but one big giant surprise. Was he not supposed to be thinking that? Dramatic was her middle name, was it not? Kidding, kidding. Reagan had really shown many different sides of her recently, each of them no more confusing than the last. "This is where I'd have to agree with you. I can't see myself having that many either. I just don't know how some people manage it." More power to those that wanted such large families like that but that wasn't for him. Chris rolled his eyes at her. "Maybe I won't even get married." That was always a thought.

She wouldn't! "Don't test me, shorty!" Christopher's laughter was a playful one. Oh, didn't he know it! He needed no reminders of her personality! With a small incline of his head, he followed her outside. "Unless there's anywhere else you had planned to go?" Yes, that may have very well been his way of offering to go along with her still.

FearlessLeader19 10-08-2023 03:50 PM

It probably might be more than just surprise. Rea thought that Christopher might be rendered speechless into shock; who’s to say a brief fainting spell might not follow? She would also hope that all the surprise he was currently feeling was the good type. Okay, he was allowed to think that; Reagan probably walked into that, anyway, since she indeed was FULL of drama.. “With lots of hard work and patience, I suppose. It must be a wild ride though.” Honestly, two thumbs up to persons with huge families! Rea scrunched up her nose in Christopher’s direction. “Unlikely.”

Reagan burst out laughing. “Don’t I already test you, Mr. Giant?” And she enjoyed doing it because Christopher put up with her shenanigans; he made her laugh and he was great company. The latter was why she was so reluctant to part with him. “No, I don’t… unless you don’t mind just walking with me for a while through the streets?” They didn’t have to do anything fancy. “We can window shop!”
