Unable to bear children of their own, Atticus and Kiera Aldredge approached the Stemp House about their options via adoption. After establishing a repertoire with Lorelai Stemp, the time has finally come to meet who could become their daughter: Cordelia Winklebleck.

Knowing of Cordelia's interests, Atticus and Kiera arranged for a special tour of a unicorn sanctuary to spend an afternoon together. Will the hopeful parents hit it off with the young girl looking to find her forever home?

It was a normal day.

It wasn't, in actuality. Today he and Kiera were meeting a young girl who, quite possibly, might become their daughter. Their daughter. After so many years of waiting, so many setbacks, today was one step closer to becoming parents. There would still be waiting. Today was just the introduction. Nothing was guaranteed. It was entirely possible Cordelia wouldn't like them. But it was also entirely possible that she would like them, and they would like her, and...

It was both endlessly exciting and utterly terrifying at the same time.

Atticus was forcing himself not to think about that too much, however. It was better to think of this as a normal day. A normal day with no major life-altering possibilities. He was merely visiting a unicorn sanctuary with his wife, their friend, and a bright young lady with an interest in unicorns...

Who might be their daughter one day.

Ahem.
