This is an RP about the Marauders' first year at Hogwarts. I'm not sure where this is going to go; it's up to the various interpretations of the characters by the RPers involved. Unfortunately, all characters have been assigned.

Sirius laughed right out loud. Peter was basically shaking right there in front of him. "Peter..calm yourself. We have plenty of classes to go too. And trust me, I'm sure Remus and James got it covered." He said as he reached for an apple off the tray. "Pete, why are you so nervous and quiet. You're a Gryffindor, not a Hufflepuff. "He said with a note of playfulness.

Peter gave a nervous giggle as he looked warily at Sirius. "I... I don't know," he shrugged. "I've always been like this. How come you're so loud?"

Sirius pierced Peter with a look. "Because I like to be heard." He put on a evil grin and raised his eyebrows. He then peered around the Hospital Wing. There had to be something to do other than sit in this bed all day. He threw the sheets off of him and threw his legs off the side of the bed, letting them dangle. Peter looked like he might wet himself any minute, but Sirius took care of that. "Don't worry, I gave Madam P my word, that I would be good. I owe her that, she isn't giving me detention, so I'll take it easy on her." Sirius looked around again. "But there has got to be something to do in this place...."

Peter nearly fell over when Sirius swung his legs over the edge of the bed. But sighed in relief as he said he wouldn't go against Madame Pomfrey's orders. He didn't know what he could do if he decided to get out of that bed. If only he could figure out something for Sirius to do so that he wouldn't be tempted...

Peter looked around the room but, there was nothing. "May..maybe I can find Remus... or... or James?" he asked.

Sirius looked directly at Peter again. "Then who is going to make sure I stay put right here in this bed then?" He made a motion to pretend that he was jumping off the bed, then plopped himself back down, laughing at the look of horror on Peter's face. "I think that is a good idea. Although....I do suspect they both are in class." Sirius reached over to the tray again, not filling full yet. He had eaten nearly everything on there already. He grabbed the last pastry and munched a bit on it. Sirius looked back over at Peter who was still standing there..."Well...what are you waiting for? I thought you were going to get Remus and James?" Sirius said with a smile.

"Rrr..rrr... right," Peter said, running over to the door and stopping before he left. "You're going to stay there, right?" he asked, eyeing Sirius warily.

"You have my word. I'll stay in this bed." Sirius raised his right hand put his left over his heart. Peter disappeared and Sirius looked around. He was having serious issues staying put. He threw his head over the side of the bed and looked underneath the bed. A big grin spread across his face and he said aloud, "Wheels.." He looked for something to push him off with, but there wasn't anything in site. So, he stood up on his bed and put his hands on the wall, and shoved as hard as he could. He sent his bed flying across the room to the other wall. He some how managed not to smack the wall head on, and let Madam P hear. He did however land right where he had planned, right underneath the window. He stood up again on his bed and looked out onto the Grounds.

Peter scampered out the door and tried to find his way to the HIstory of Magic classroom. After several wrong turns, he bumped right into Professor McGonagall who gave him a very stern look and a warning for the next time she caught him wandering the corridors when he should be in class. When the professor had finally droppped him off, class was just getting out. Peter frantically waved his hands to grab his friends' attention as he squeaked, "Remus! James!"

[color=red ]Remus and James were walking out of History of Magic class talking about the grils in the front row when they heard the squeaky, very recognizable voice of fat Peter Pettigrew. "Yes Peter," said James, "what is it now, do you need to know where the bathroom is again?" James and Remus both laughed.[/color]

Peter laughed nervously at James' remark. "Nn...nnn...no," he squeaked. "It's Sirius. He...he.. keeps trying to get out of bed. He's bored. I thought if maybe you went to see him...."

Peter shifted from foot to foot as he spoke. He was so nervous. Why did these people like him? What did they want? If he said something or did something wrong, would they bully him like the pale, greasy, kid?

"it's okay, Peter," James said and he reached out to put his hand on the boy's shoulder, Peter almost collapsed thinking James was going to hit him. "You lead the way and we'll follow you back to Sirius," he added and Remus and James marched off following Peter who kept looking back to make sure they hadn't ditched him in the hallway.

Professor Dumbledore walked out onto the grounds accompanied by Argus Filch, the caretaker, and Rubeus Hagrid, the groundskeeper. Hagrid was carrying a rather large sappling of some sort which seemed to be trying to attack the overly large man. They stopped just below the Hospital Wing windows and Dumbledore pointed to a spot in the lawn with his wand and a large hole appeared. After Filch and Hagrid had the sapling securly planted in the ground, Dumbledore approached it and appeared to fiddle with it for a bit before the three staff members backed away from it. Dumbledore pointed his wand, a gently flowing green light came forth and hit the sapling which began to grow into an enormous giant of a tree. Smiling and chatting away, the Headmaster led Filch and Hagrid back into the castle.

Sirius was just about to plop back down on his bed, due to lack of activity out on the grounds when movement just below his window caught his attention. He strained to see, but couldn't quite make out what they were doing from the angle he was at. He hoisted himself up in the windowsill, letting his legs dangle. He pressed his forehead to the glass and looked down. He saw Dumbledore, and that dirty looking caretaker guy, and the man that took care of the grounds. Sirius couldn't remember their names, nor did he really care, but he was very curious as to what they were up to. They had a tree, it looked like to Sirius. He watched them plant it, the Dumbledore moved in front of Sirius's view. Sirius cursed Dumbledore, but it soon became evident what what he was up to. A huge tree sprouted up right in front of Sirius's eyes. Sirius watched in amazement, as it flailed it's huge arms then came to a rest...He was going to have to get a better look at the tree as soon as he got out of the Hospital Wing..Maybe it would eat people...."Greasy," Sirius said aloud and grinned wider than ever.

Peter eagerly led the other two boys to the Hospital Wing. He kept looking back to be sure they were following him. They had to backtrack a couple of times because he had made a wrong turn or two but, his friends still followed him. When they finally arrived back at the Hospital WIng, it was to find Sirius practically hanging out the window. Peter ran over to him on his stubby legs. "Sirius! What if Madame Pomfrey sees you?" he squeaked.

Peter's squeaking through the Hospital Wing startled Peter, and he almost fell out of the window. He caught himself then lowered himself back to his bed slowly. He put a finger to his lip, "See me do what Peter?"He said all too slyly. "I've been right here in this bed the whole time." Sirius nodded as if to agree with himself. "So, my new pals decided to cut out on class for a visit as well?"

Remus just shook his head at Sirius's antics. The boy was almost certainly mad, but that was somehow part of his charm. "Don't flatter yourself, Black. We're skipping lunch for you, but it looks like you have enough food to take care of us anyway." He moved the tray that Peter had brought up earlier over to where Sirius now sat by the window on his bed.

He leaned against the cool glass as he ate a chocolate frog, noting the new tree on the grounds. "What's that? Seems like a strange place to plant a tree." He watched as it tried to reach out and knock over a Ravenclaw, who narrowly escaped the swinging branches. "What kind of bloody vicious person plants a tree like that?"

"That Remus, is one awesome tree. Can you imagine all the fun we are going to have with a tree that fights back? I bet I'm the first to climb that monster.."He glanced over at James, "Although...I bet you could give me a run for money," he said as he laughed a bit. Sirius looked around the room a bit more. "I have got to get out of here guys. But I can't convince Madam P that I am fine." Sirius hopped down from the bed to show the two newcomers how he was healed quite well.

James looked out at the new tree on the grounds and smiled at the thought of beating Sirius to the top of it. "well what if we jinx Peter here," and he pointed at the now squirming Petigrew, "and then we can make a trade with Madam P, him for you," and James started laughing.

Peter looked at the tree and thought how scary it was. Remus was right, who would plant a killer tree at a school? And why would anyone go near it? Then, James mentioned jinxing him and Petter nearly wet himself as he started to shake, his eyes darting around at his new friends. He began stuttering and stammering incoherantly.

Sirius was trying his best not to laugh at James's comment. "James! I'm surprised with you, " he said walking over to Peter and puting his arm around his shoulder. " I wouldn't tradeyou for anything." He then took Peter into a headlock and ruffled his hair."Ain't that right Petey?"Sirius said letting go of him. He tried to fix Peter's hair back, but failed quite miserably. Sirius shrugged and jumped back into bed. "How about giving me a lift back to my spot over there guys. If Madam P comes out and sees me over here, she'll keep me forever."

Madame Pomfrey emerged from her office, muttering to herself. As she looked up after locking her door, she saw Mr. Black had three vistors surrounding his bed and they looked a bit out of breath. She walked over and gently pushed the short boy from earlier out of the way. He walked over to join the other two and she set about examining Mr. Black's leg. She ran her hands over the leg, feeling to be sure it was all set in place, then, she had Sirius get up and walk around a bit while she studied the movements. Slowly nodding her head in approval she said, "Alright, Mr. Black, you seem to be fully healed."

She smiled at the rogue who she was sure she'd see again sooner rather than later. As he eagerly joined his friends, anticipating his release, Madame Pomfrey's eyes rested on one of the boys. He was looking quite a bit peaked... Thinking back to the intensive reading she had done to care for one of the new students with a special circumstance Albus had approached her about before the start of term, she was sure this must be Remus Lupin. She really wanted to speak to him but, knew she should wait until he was no longer with his friends or they had come up with a reasonable excuse for why he needed such regular attention from the school nurse.

Realizing that she had been staring at the boy with an almost motherly concern or even pity, she quickly shook herself and faced Mr. Black once more. "I suppose you are fit enough to leave. Just make sure you keep out of trouble," she warned, fixing him with a look which clearly stated that she didn't want to hear of him getting back at that Slytherin student.

Remus saw Madame Pomfrey watching him, and he averted his eyes. She knew. She knew he was a werewolf, and he was only slightly relieved that her eyes didn't show fear or condemnation. They did hold something he hated almost as much - pity.

He nodded at her as they left, moving into the hallway. Trying to shake the sinking feeling that all this fun was about to end, Remus put on a jocular tone. "I think my feelings are hurt. Maybe I'll climb the Tree of Evilness first."

Sirius turned to Remus, "You want to race up the tree Remus? No offense or anything, but you don't look up to it. But I don't underestimate you one bit." Sirius stopped dead in his tracks. "Wait up a sec guys." Sirius poked his head around the corner."Thanks for everything Madam P. I'll see you later. " He gave her a wink, and rejoined his three friends. "So, I'm assuming we have a class to get to. What's on the schedule?"

Peter tried to think what class was next and his face went ashen as he remembered. He stopped in the middle of the hallway, the others not seeming to notice. He tired to make his feet move but, they just wouldn't budge. Maybe if he just stood there, they would foget abou thim and he could skip this next class, too. He just didn't want get on a broom.

James laughed aloud at the look on Peter's face, "come on Peter," he said while motioning, "flying lessons will be great, I'll make sure yours has a seat belt," James added while chuckling.
