A small, pale, boy pushed a trolley containing his trunk and followed his parents through the barrier between Platforms 9 & 10. He was surprised his father had bothered to come at all because as soon as they had stopped, his mother had turned around and begun double checking that he had packed everything which had led to another argument between his parents (he had lost track of how many they had had since begining the journey to London). It didn't take much to set those two off. So, he said his goodbyes in between the shouts and slipped onto the train.

Cassirin 04-19-2004 05:40 AM

Remus Lupin stood still as his mother hugged him tightly one last time. "Good bye, mum," he said flatly, hoping she'd let him go so he could climb on the train. He probably wasn't going to have luck making friends anyhow, but having his mother sob all over him wasn't really helping. She wiped her eyes and sniffled. "You be good, Remmie," she reminded him again, and added for the fourth time, "Be sure to find Professor Dumbledore as soon as you get there and remind him of the full moon coming up..." Remus was afraid she'd hug him again, so he stepped back and put his hand on his luggage. "I don't think he'll be able to forget it, Mum," he said cheerfully. He chucked a quick grin at his father, who had gotten his manly sort of half-hug about four hugs ago and pulled his trunk to the train.

He struggled to pull it aboard. He wasn't a short boy, but he was thin from his lycanthropy. He had managed to slip away early, and the cars were still mostly empty. Remus was glad to find an empty one in which he could put up his trunk and start reading one of his text books.

Uh are you allowing made ups? Cause if you are I'd be interested in joining.

Kris: Unfortunately, we aren't going to have made-ups and all other positions have been filled. Thank you for your interest, though.

"mom, stop it," James was pushing his mother's hands away from his hair...again, she had been hoplessly trying to make it lay flat since they left the house, "dear, you know it won't do it," said James' father, who happend to be ruffling up his own hair a bit, something he always did when out in the public, "now you run along and try to make friends, and I want you to write me when you get there." "Yes, mother I will,"he replied politley and he gave her a big hug and a kiss on her cheek, James's father did the same and they sent him on his way towards the train, "oh and James," his father yelled as he neared the door, "remember, we've all been Gryffindors.... sooo," he smiled and gave James the thumbs up, he knew all to well that the name Potter and Gryffindor where synonomus, he was reminded of that at every family reunion since he got his letter to attend Hogwarts.

James stepped up on the train and started looking for someone to talk to...

*Sirius was dropped off at the station by his folks. His parents didn't exactly wait around to see him off, but gave him nod and told him to make good choices. Sirius took that last bit of information to heart. He was going to make good decisions. Sirius hugged his little brother, Regulus, and was off throught the barrier. His new life was about to begin. He shook back his messy black hair and watched other's board the train. He slid his hand down in his pocket, feeling his new wand. He couldn't wait to become a fully trained wizard. Sirius, cooly boarded the train...and found a car with only one boy in it. He went in, and took a seat across from him. *

Jennifer_w 04-22-2004 02:46 AM

A young red haired girl walked along the train station with her parents and a older stuck up sister trailing behind them. The sister girl with a smile upon her face looked around for platform 9 and 3/4, seeing a boy go through a wall before her her eyes glinted with happiness and amazement. She was muggle-born and ever since she received her letter this summer she had been to excited to wait, her parents were overjoyed with the news except her older sister. Ever since the news her sister had stayed away from her, but she didn't mind, her sister was always mean to her. So as she looked around to notice no one was around the little red girled girl and her parents followed the boy and went through the barrier leaving her sister behind.

She was exasperated by what she saw, there were tons of folk in funny looking clothes all about, there were owls hooting off in a corner and students running off in all directions looking for friends. She grabbed her mothers hand tight as she saw all the smiling people and then the train before her. "Mother look!" She pointed as her parents smiled.

After a few moments and seeing their other daughter wasn't going they bidded the young child goodbye and kissed her for what seemed forever. She smiled, "Don't worry mother, I'll write every day! Goodbye!" And with that they went back through the barrier and the little red haired girl made her way around this new place.

Severus Snape was pulling his trunk by hand into one of the compartments and grumbling the whole time about the Decree for the Restriction of Underage Wizardry. His shoulder-length, greasy, black hair fell into his face, and stood up, pulling it behind his ears when he spotted a red-haired girl just stepping onto the train. She didn't look like she was from any of the wizarding families he knew. "Filthy mudbloods," he mumbled to himself. "Father warned me they'd be here."

Mad Eye Touz 04-22-2004 07:31 PM

*Sirius stared at the scruffy looking boys sitting across from him. He was paying no attention whatsoever to Sirius. Sirius twiddled his thumbs..tapped his foot..blew the fly away hairs out of eyes...clicked his tongue...and finally gave up. Sirius was so impatient..and the boy was still not paying a spot of attention to him. "How could anyone be THAT indulged in a book?" Sirius thought. He let out a very audible sigh, pulled his wand out, twirling it through his fingers..and staring blankly out the window.*

Jennifer_w 04-22-2004 08:13 PM

The young red head looked around as she walked onto the train and saw a young boy with greasy black hair, "Hello...I'm sorry but was that towards me?!" She asked inocently. "Well I'm Lily Evans! Nice to meet you." She said giving him her hand noticing he gringed at that, "Umm alright then....I'll see you around...." And with that Lily stalked in the train looking for a compartment, "Now that was rude...." She told herself as she wandered around.

Biochemkris 04-22-2004 08:32 PM

Severus cringed as the mudblood extended her hand to him. Did she really expect him to touch her? He sneered at her as she walked past him before continuing to drag his trunk into the compartment. He sat down beside the window, closed the shade, and pulled out a dusty, black, book. Opening it up, he flipped through to the last page he had read and began to immerse himself in study of the Dark Arts.

Cassirin 04-23-2004 12:46 PM

Remus noticed the boy enter his car but wanted to finish the page he was on. It was hard, what with all the noise the kid made, but Remus pressed on. Finally, just as the boy gave up and stared out the window, Remus finished. He stuck his finger into the book to mark the page and shut it, looking intently at the boy now pouting across from him. He looked to be about the same age as Remus, with longish dark hair and eyes. He was wearing expensive looking robes already, but he had a cheerful, robust face that Remus thought he could like very much... if he could choose a friend, he might choose this boy.

"I hope your next set of noises don't involve explosions of any kind. I could probably read through them, but they might damage my book," Remus grinned mischieviously at the boy, who perked up at the sound of his voice. "I'm Remus, by the way. It's a stupid sort of name, I know, but I really didn't have a lot of choice over it."

Mad Eye Touz 04-23-2004 04:59 PM

*Sirius jumped at the sound of the boy's voice across from him. Sirius had already assumed that he was going to have a completely silent trip to Hogwarts. He smiled widely as the other boy caught him in his attemp to get his attention.*

"I didn't think you were ever going to stop reading. I'm Sirius. Sirius Black. It's nice to meet you. " *He stood and went over to the boy and gave him a good firm handshake, and took the seat beside him. He took the book in his hand and flipped it over a couple times.*

"So....you're studying before school even starts...yep..you sound like the kind of person I need hanging around with me. " Sirius laughed and gave the boy beside him a little nudge. *

"What house do you think you'll be in anyways?"

Cassirin 04-23-2004 07:56 PM

"Sirius?" Remus said, trying the name out. "I take it back. I guess we both have odd names. What's that, the Dog Star?" He let Sirius take the book from him, and grinned at his comment. "We aren't even at school yet, and you're already trying to find someone to do your homework? That's fast... I'm kind of impressed."

Remus had never really given much thought to what house he'd been in. He had, along with his parents, assumed he'd be unable to attend Hogwarts up until a few weeks ago when he got his letter by owl. His parents hadn't even bothered to tell him much about the houses, not wanting to cause him to think with regret about something he could never had. He stared blankly at the boy for a moment before giving a shrug. "I don't know."

Jennifer_w 04-23-2004 09:19 PM

Lily made her way through the train, alot of the seats were taken up by several people who knew each other and she didn't wanna intrude on them. Finally finding a compartment with two boys who seemed to be first years like her by the looks and height she decided to take a chance and walked in with her trunk behind her. "Umm hello, are any of these other seats taken?!" She asked putting down her trunk and taking a seat without hearing their answer. "Hello, I'm Lily Evans by the way! First year students at Hogwarts, can't wait to see it!" She said looking around the compartment glancing at everything she could see.

Cassirin 04-25-2004 04:38 AM

Remus was surprised when a young redhead entered their compartment. She rambled on for a bit, and Remus mouthed to Sirius 'Muggle-born,' before turning back to listen to her.

"Take a seat. I'm Remus. That's Sirius," he gestured at the other boy who didn't bother to wave or smile. "We're first years also."

Bellatrix Black was unhappy. Her father wouldn't let her bring her house elf on the train, and she was forced to drag her trunk around without assistance. She stumbled upon her idiot cousin, sitting with what was clearly a mudblood girl as well as a slightly unkempt boy. She sniffed and moved on down the hall, finding a compartment with a small, dark boy reading a book. He didn't seem particularly offensive, so she brought her trunk in and sat down without a word to him.

"I need some help with my trunk," she said, giving him the big-eyed look that always worked on her father.

Biochemkris 04-25-2004 04:50 AM

Severus raised his eyes from his book as pretty girl entered his compartment. His frown turned to a sneer as she not so subtly told him to help her with her trunk. "I managed alright by myself," he said.

Noting the condition of her robes, he set his book aside and got up, grabbing an end of the trunk, "Although I suppose someone as spoilt as you probably wouldn't even know which end of a wand to hold. Daddy didn't let you bring the house elf, did he?"

Cassirin 04-25-2004 05:03 AM

Bella gave a cursory push to her trunk as the boy slid it into place. She glared at him once they were finished, taking note of his paleness and the state of his robes.

"It isn't my fault, boy, that I have galleons. Maybe you're family should look into getting you a house elf to take you outdoors or wash your hair occasionally." She paused, looking haugty. "I'm Bellatrix Black, by the way."

Biochemkris 04-25-2004 05:10 AM

He smirked at her remark. "Black..." he said, jogging his memory.

Yes, he remembered his father speaking to him of the Blacks. Wizarding family with old money, like the Malfoys. "Decent pureblood wizards if I'm not mistaken," he said, offhandedly. "Severus Snape."

Cassirin 04-25-2004 05:20 AM

Bella, for all her acting the innocent around her father, still drank in every thing she heard around her. She was a manipulative child, and part of that was well-developed observation skills. "Snape..." she repeated, knowing her father had mentioned that name.

"I know..." she circled him. "Pureblood, not old money, a bit of dabbling in the dark..." she stopped her listing. "I think you'll do fine. Going to be in Slytherin?"

Biochemkris 04-25-2004 05:24 AM

"I'd kill myself if I was sorted into any other house," Snape said, acidly. "I suppose we'll be sorted together, then. I doubt anyone from your family would be sorted anywhere but Slytherin from what I've heard. You friends with the Malfoys?"

Cassirin 04-25-2004 05:35 AM

"All Blacks go into Slytherin," Bella said proudly. "Its been that way for centuries. If you aren't, you're basically disowned."

Bella pushed her straight black hair over her shoulders and nodded her head. "Yes, we spend a good deal of time with the Malfoys. Lucius is basically a prat, although I suppose he's an attractive prat. My sister Narcissa thinks she's going to marry him, although he really won't give her the time of day." Bella looked at him suspiciously. She hated that she was talking so much, and this boy had given nothing away. It made her feel powerless. "Do YOU know the Malfoys?"

Biochemkris 04-25-2004 05:50 AM

"Of course I know the Malfoys," Severus replied, taking offence at her superior tone of voice. In point of fact, he'd only actually met them on two or three occassions, but he wasn't about to tell her that. The Snape's weren't the wealthiest of pureblood families and so rarely got the chance to intermingle with those from the old money like the Malfoys and Blacks.

The train began to move and Severus decided to take this opportunity to engage himself in his book once more. It was obvious all that this Bellatrix Black wanted to do was try and make him feel inferior. He wasn't going to give her the chance. Besides, she may have money, but he was willing to bet he knew more about the Dark Arts than she could ever hope to learn by the time they graduated.

Cassirin 04-25-2004 06:04 AM

Snape put up his book, and Bella knew she was being shut out. She sighed heavily and moved closer to the window, where she could stare out at the passing scenery. Being the youngest of three girls had been hard on Bella, who was especially hungry for attention and control. She idolized her father, and he loved his youngest, but spent most of his energies on the older two. Narcissa was a beauty he was grooming to be a prize wife for some rich pureblood, and Andromeda was just generally a difficult child. She had all these strange ideas about good and bad.

Bella was only just beginning to get the taste of freedom in her mouth, and she liked it. She was finally in a position where she could be in control, where she could be the power. This little slip of a boy could either help her or be hurt by her. There was no middle ground.

Jennifer_w 04-25-2004 06:26 AM

Lily then turned her attention to the two boys, "Hello Remus,Sirus." She said with a bright glowing smile as she turned to look at the other boy that seemed to be silent. "I'm glad I met new first years, it'll would've been quite weird if not." She added as she rambled on again. Finally stopping herself she turned to them, "What house do you two think you'll be in?" She asked, "I read a little bit about each house and they all seem interesting!" She said eagerly but then went to a whisper, "But..I'd rather not end up in Slytherin." She told them looking around. Then looking embarrased, "unless one of you are wanting to be in it...oh course that would be fine!" She added sitting stiffly back shyly.
