The mouth of the road is barren, characterized by huge rocks and crumbling boulders that leave in one’s mouth the taste of dirt, rusting metal and steady, very very dusty erosion. You breathe, you cough. The sky is orange, ready to kick up a sandstorm anytime. All is dust.

The fork in the path opens up two routes: The left comes to a dead end, a wall of rock and sandstone, and the right leads onwards, farther into the rocks, and you find that the scenery begins to change. Shrubs seem to sprout of the ground, trees commence to rise. Within fifteen minutes, all is green.

Welcome to Forest Delgo.

Delgo starts with a cheerful green clearing but, as you go inwards, the trees begin to grow thicker. There is the smell of wet mud in the air, and you know from it that, somewhere, there is water. Farther in, the starts of a stream begin, and the water gathers speed, transforming into a pure, gushing river as it goes on. Much, much deeper in, there is a waterfall but, for now, you can not see it.

Vegetation is, by no means, scarce. The trees are pretty thick, happy types that do not scare in the least, even at the points where they shut out much – or all – of the light. There are songbirds around but, deeper in, there are other creatures, perhaps wilder, perhaps tamer. Not where you stand, though.

Where you stand is nothing but green land and blue sky.

A friendly hug? "Watcha mean friendly hug?" Viad asked, blinkin' in a very confused way. He hadn't known girl-boy hugs could be friendly. "Watcha mean, kid?" He sat down on the grass, almost pantin' - they had just arrived, an' he was already getting to see such specimens! These kids could compete for a place in the seven wonders of the world list! An' that girl! She actually had the nerve to HUG the Fyo kid in front of him.

The Torin kid was the most sane of them all, Viad decided.

"You!" He said, pointin' at Torin. "I'm not like no burybunnies, so you help me carry all this stuff into the forest!" That sounded more like campin' now. He turned to the Fyo kid. "You're gonna help me now, or I'll tell your dad, you hear that? Now follow me!"

With that he stalked off into the forest.

Fyo did a quick, little jig of happiness, before eyeing the things they had just unloaded. Magic time, he decided. Bringing out his wand, he pointed it at some of the stuff, and it raised itself into the air. "Levitation," he told Torin. "Let's levitate this - he's not going to see, he's already pretty far ahead of us."

He shook his head at Fyo. Nothing more for him to say really seeing as the Gryffindor was onto him already. So instead he just followed Uncle Henry with the supplies. "You are like her though. She would have yelled at them the same way."

It was evenin' and Viad stalked through the forest he knew so well, shakin' his head as he went along. These kids were crazy. The Torin kid was bad enough, what with his "magical" professors, but the other two were........ no words! First the girl didn't know where they were, then she went an' hugged the Fyo kid. An' the Fyo kid actually thought it was a friendly hug! When did girl-boy hugs become friendly huh? Viad was going to go crazy.

He was pretty far ahead now and darkness was fallin'. The man lit the lantern he had brought along an' held it high in front of him as he went forward, hopin' that the Fyo and Torin kids were followin' him. He didn't want them to get lost! An' the girl. She had better come too. "I'm not like no professor!" he yelled, not lookin' back at the Torin kid. "She might have some of my good qualities, but that doesn't make us no similar kid."

"Hurry up, hurry up!" he called out as he walked on.

Ah! He gave up! Yay! A big Yay! Alice had to control her tongue to say anything trimumphantly. Instead she saw his broody face ordering Fyo to help him. That's a wise move man. "You know Uncle, I'm gonna meet Fyo's dad very soon" she said voluntarily and happily. This summer vacation was gonna be so interesting, including this one.

He shrugged. Seriously he didn't know why the dude was so annoyed with the comparison. "But it's a big compliment. She's like.. perfect." It was seriously getting harder and harder to see outside now. And he was wondering where Fyo was. Hopefully right near him. The thought of being alone with Uncle Henry scared him a little.

It was totally night now. Viad pulled to a halt, not puttin' down the lantern he was carryin'. Fire an' trees didn't make a good couple. Of course, there were the torches but they were in the supplies. An' rain was clearly headed this way. Dark, cold weather, it was now. But Viad had reached the place they were goin' to pitch their tents at now.

"You kids!" He called out, hardly able to see their tiny figures in the distance. "Come here quickly!"

Alice's attention turned to Torin for the first time. Aw..this boy seemed never going to give up on this professor. "Torin? can you help me?" she paused, kept walking along with Fyo, "Please..change the subject atleast for a while..plz" she asked, hoping that he would give up.

He was actually enjoying himself, now. Wild weather was what Fyo loved, and he had already seen a good bit of it. Never in a real forest, though. It was not that he was genuinely glad Uncle Henry was with them - whatever else the man may be, he would definitely see to it that they were not hurt.

He slowed to a halt a distance away from the light of Uncle Henry's lantern, lowering his supplies with the help of his wand. "We'll need to carry them now," he said. Of course, they could not let Uncle Henry see the things floating. But the distance they had to cover now was really short - hardly four feet.

Fyo picked up some of the things, and began to half-drag, half-carry them forward. "Don't bring anything," he called to Lissy. "I'll carry your stuff."

Viad held up the lantern and walked a few steps back, so that the light of the lamp shone into the faces of the three kids. Well they were certainly behavin' now, all of them. Viad nodded to himself quite approvin'ly, before his ears caught what that Fyo kid was sayin' - had the girl been carrying some of the stuff too? Most likely. Well, seemed like she wasn't all useless!

He went forward, thrusting the lantern at Torin who had already placed some of the supplies at the desired spot. "Hold this high kid," he ordered, as he rolled up his sleeves. "We need to hurry now." This said, he went over to where the girl's share of supplies an' grabbin' it, took it to a very nearby spot sheltered by trees. Then he took the lantern back from Torin, sayin' gruffly:

"Don't think I'll carry your share of supplies, tall kid."

She could see only the Lantern light. The place was getting so dark and started raining too. Alice had to cring her eyes to see things clear for not to trip or hit on anything unwanted.

"Okay. But how much you could carry?" she was worried now.

Overhearing the statement, Fyo rolled his eyes. Torin and his silly Bunz crush! He could only hope Torin would get over it pretty soon. Not that that seemed very likely.

Coming back for Lissy's supplies, Fyo received a surprise. Well, well, well - it seemed like Uncle Henry was carrying Lissy's share of things back to THE SPOT! That was almost.... gentlemanly of him.

"The man's better than I thought," he admitted, to no one in particular.

He was startled as a latern was forced into his hand and then yanked away with the same speed. This dude sure was in a hurry. It was all business with him.

"You all secretly love hearing about her. You just don't wanna admit it." Yes, that was his theory and he was sticking to it.

"You don't guess, it is time to set up the tents," Viad said, hands on hips as, swingin' his lantern in the air, he peered at the three kids in front of him. He had a feeling the Fyo kid was holdin' the girl's hand, an' he narrowed his eyes at them.

"You two doin' somethin'?" he asked suspiciously. "Watcha two DOIN' EH?" he asked loudly, his voice booming.

The rain was coming down harder now.

Viad returned the girl's grateful smile with a grunt as he waited for the kids to settle a bit, before pointin' to the spot he had picked. "That spot," he began. "Is where you gotta pitch your tents. I chose it because it's pretty sheltered with the trees." His voice boomed through the rain an' wind an' muddy atmosphere, an' the lantern was still in his hands. He put down a big knapsack, began to search into it, an' took out four large torches. He threw one at each of them, before clicking open the last one as he blew out the lantern.

"Use 'em," he said, pointin' to the torches in there hands. "Now Fyodor, your father told me not to teach you campin' basics because he assures me you've already camped out. So I won't. Let's see how good you can pitch up a tent."

Fyo looked around, saw that no one was looking, and took his chance to get some of Lissy's cheek with his lips. Wild weather + Butterfly = LOVE!

"I can see you're excited," he laughed, glad that she was not scared of the sort-of-crazy weather, unlike some of the people - girls and boys, both - he knew would have been.

"If you don't stop BunBunizing this instant," Fyo began, still through gritted teeth. "I'm going to whack your head into the nearest tree." A big "yeah, right" popped into his head, but Fyo ignored it. Torin was driving him crazy, yet again. Bad Torin. BAD Torinkitty.

"So...." He spoke up again after a moment or two's pause, trying to think straighter. "If you want it muggle style, I'm fine with muggle style," he said with a nod. "We can pitch ourselves a muggle tent." He turned to Butterfly, "You can have a magical one if you want, though," he told her. "It's going to be a lot more comfortable, and I know Uncle Henry would never enter it without permission, so you don't have to worry about that, either."

FINALLY. They were finally getting something done.

Viad hadn't dawdled once he had told the kids he was ready to see how good they were with tents. When in rough terrain, you were never supposed to dawdle without need, that was one of the rules of survival in the wild. The moustache'd man had gotten busy with his own tent at once, an' it was now properly pitched at one corner of their 'spot.'

Of course he had been really quick but then this was the gazillionth time he had set up a tent. For a moment Viad stood in front of it, almost admirin' it. But he knew the weather was growing rougher, an' he had to check on those kids. (Even if they were freaky kids who held hands and HUGGED each other). He turned around - an' realized they were chattin'.

CHATTIN'!

"ORDER!" he called out loudly. "Watcha doin' you, you naughty kids? My tent's all set up, an' you're still talkin'! WATCHA DOIN', KIDS?"

Fyo nearly jumped up a foot in the air, Uncle Henry startled him so much. They had been talking in low voices, and the man's loud, booming tones could have made anyone in the vicinity start. "Sorry, Uncle Henry," he said quickly, hurrying over to pitch his own tent. He had done it before, so it shouldn't be too hard, should it, now?

Making sure Uncle Henry was not looking his way, the fourteen-year old flicked his wand to clear his and Torin's tent site of debris, stones, twigs and the like. He spread a ground cloth, before unfolding his tent sheets as close to the forest floor as he could, and using two, rather heavy stones he had just found to weigh them down.

"The pegs are all yours," he told Torin, stretching his legs a bit. This should be fun, watching Torin drive the stakes in.
