Its summer 2097 and your character has signed up to be part of a potentially lucrative curse-breaking opportunity. This particular location is unplottable for ultra security and secrecy while Gringotts Wizarding Bank unearths its secrets. The Gringotts Curse-Breakers are not the only experts on the scene however - this is a joint enterprise and there are contingents from the Cairo campus of the Wizarding University, as well as a freelance group who hire themselves out to lend a hand when a particularly lucrative 'treasure-and-curse' opportunity arises.
The meeting point is a series of tents right outside the dig site - all of the team have been provided with portkeys to get them here, and will have the night to settle in and get the lay of the land before the teams begin their work in the morning. Other than the tents there's a LOT of sand and not much else to be seen, thanks to the spells protecting the site from muggle notice.
Anyone is welcome to join this RP (as advertised within the SnitchSeeker RPG timeline, March 2097 in the Daily Prophet). You can RP as many characters as you feel able to play, providing it makes sense for them to be part of this expedition.

Gringotts Curse-Breakers & Trainees (your character can be added to this list, for any of the locations around the world). While the primary goal is to profit and bring back treasures, the Gringotts Curse-Breakers are respectful of the dig sites and the remnants of history within. There are mixed experience levels among the Gringotts contingent, including brand new green trainees who have put their names down for this mission and been approved by the goblins who don't particularly care about the risks that their human employees may face and consequently weren't as thorough as they could have been when it came to certifying the trainees were of age.
Cairo University Students & Staff Many of the Wiz-U students are more focused on the historical elements of digs like this one. They primarily want to discover new information, restore priceless artifacts, and preserve historical sites for posterity. A bit of profit is nice of course, but this contingent are more interested in the academia of it all.

Bit of history and personality
After two near death experiences (one near death experience and one very painful encounter with the wrong end of a dark hex), Sylvie Norcott is no longer as carefree as she once was. Born in London to two loving parents and raised as an only child, she is funloving, kind and spirited, and has a devout moral code which she tries to follow to a T. It hasn't worked out great for her so far, but Sylvie always tries to do the right thing, as misguided as her opinion of what the right thing may be.
After two consecutive years of Hogwarts breaking her down (death by inferi, dark hex by professor), Sylvie has decided she is not interested in attending Hogwarts any longer. She doesn't feel safe, she doesn't feel rested, and the marks on her face from the professor's attack are still visible if you look closely. Therefore, the Gringotts cursebreaking pipe dream is actually coming to fruition, and she's worked her butt off ever since she made the decision to go for it and try her luck against the likely worthier, better applicants. Bring on the sand!

About Vivian: Vivian is the eldest daughter of Edmund and Vanya Fairfield, the sister of Eloise Fairfield, and the niece of famous Pride of Portree beater Elise Fairfield and her husband Christopher Stylinson. As far as her interest in curse breaking goes, Vivian is always eager to learn new things and is known to be quite a risk taker. -Has dabbled in teaching a few courses here and there but doesn't really have all that much interest in the craft of education, much prefers being out in the field on his own adventures instead of inspiring others to get out there.
The eldest of three children (brother: Ira Banner, sister: Hollis Summers), Helo has always been a wandering spirit, an adventurous soul, and not one easily tied down in any sense - the man is the perennial bachelor, or at least that's what he's spent most of his 50+ years of life being. Even now that he has a significant other - after literal decades of time invested by Caedwyn Howard (former IUMO division head, and his former best friend) he still gets serious bouts of wanderlust and simply must go off on adventures. Good thing he's a curse-breaker then right? He'll disappear for weeks at a time but he always comes back. That woman has the patience of a saint really. He's also very fond of her now grown daughter, Carrigan Howard, having known her since she was tiny. He has been working with Gringotts for half his life -though prior to his employ as Head Curse-breaker he worked mostly freelance, and has no plans on stopping any time soon, that is at least until the job stops him.

Background: Being a Flamel, Joseph had a huge legacy to live up to the moment he was born. Growing up he was incredibly intelligent, perhaps too intelligent for his own good. But things changed when he finally discovered his forté: Runes. This passion led him to Cairo WU, where he earned his Bachelors and Masters in Behavioural Sciences and Rune Studies. His Story: After graduating from Illvermony, Thomas knew that his dreams were just a little bit outside of his small Atlanta Georgia suburb, after only applying to University at Istanbul he got accepted, earning his degree in Cursebreaking and Behavioral Sciences. Later he would work as a freelance with his friends and a professor from his Uni. Only about a year later Thomas decided that he wanted to stay a bit more grounded as his family back home in Atlanta seemed to turn up where he was, and Honestly he missed them too.
Thomas landed a “pretty sweet” job in Crete at a Minoan Civilization dig. Where he meet and worked alongside Bella At the time Keller. His official documentation person. (seriously the girl is obsessed with documenting… EVERYTHING). Which was fine with him. After a certain altercation, Thomas quit and started working as freelance again for a short time. Deciding to return to school for Grad school to get a Doctorate in Archaeology, at WU Madrid. He’ll teach a few remedial and introduction classes here and there. Following in tradition one day he hear Bella talking about this opportunity and was one of the first from the University to sign up.

Her Story:
Bella Keller is very much a determined and stubborn Gryffindor. After her boyfriend at the time decided to go to Egypt after graduation, Bella decided to research careers she could study in the area. She soon fell in love with cursebreaking. During her fourth year, she prepared herself for a summer course at Cairo WU by self-teaching minor cursebreaking, ancient runes, arithmancy, Latin and ancient Egyptian (dating a Ravenclaw had come in handy.) After that summer, she continued her education at the Cairo campus, starting her cursebreaking coursework, and taking remedial classes to catch up on any subjects she was missing at Hogwarts. Four years of year-round continual schooling (and couple months off the grid doing research, and one thesis requiring several rewrites) later, she graduated from Cairo WU with a double major degree in Cursebreaking and Anthropology - Ancient Civilizations Emphasis.
After graduation, Bella worked in Crete at a Minoan Civilization dig. There she met Thomas Watts, who has been her constant in the workplace ever since. She was engaged at the time and living in Italy. A year later, the engagement fell apart. She moved out, quit her job, and spent a month figuring out what was next for her.
Bella decided to go back to school for her Doctorate in Anthropology. She applied and got accepted to Madrid WU and moved to Barcelona. At Madrid WU, she taught a few introduction to anthropology classes, a few cursebreaking classes, as well as taking a few classes and working on her dissertation. After her first year, she spent the summer in Belize, doing research on her dissertation topic -- the fall of the Mayan Empire -- more specifically, why some areas lasted longer than others. That summer she also reconciled with former fiance Calvin Dreschler. Come fall, she moved to Germany where Calvin had been living, and continued her teaching and coursework at Madrid WU.
That winter, Bella Keller became Bella Drechsler.
The following spring, Bella was contacted by her former thesis adviser about a big discovery. Being as ambitious as she is, the future Dr Drechsler, of course, said she was happy to assist. She’d been traveling back and forth to assist in the research. Now that it is summer, she and her family have moved to Egypt to assist full time. She’ll be documenting and leading this portion of the exploration in conjunction with the lead Gringotts cursebreaker.

His Story:
Hawke has always outwardly been an easygoing guy. The downside of that, he has never considered himself particularly interesting. This is compounded by the fact that he’s often with his family, who are all essentially perfect. He’s been struggling with his personal identity and finding something he’s passionate about. He’s particularly worried because this could very well be his last time to figure out what he wants (and to do something different that just being another token rich and pretty Zunther).
A certain Sylvie had expressed interest in this cursebreaking opportunity, and being the certain Sylvie’s friend who did anything for her, they applied along with Juni despite the article mentioning you should have graduated in order to attend.
After a breakup with said Sylvie, Hawke has spent the entire summer being anything but himself. He still decided to come for several reasons (and only most of them have to do with making sure Sylvie doesn’t get hurt). He even prepped by studying up on some local history and by reading some girl’s thesis which included an in-depth section on ancient Egyptian curses and culture. His application was not as creative though. He just copied anything Juni wrote down on hers.

Levi often comes across as arrogant and self-righteous, especially if he thinks he is more intelligent than someone, which is most people whether that’s really true or not. He thinks of himself as laidback and cool, whether it be the music he listens to or the clothes he wears, though he never has a problem teaching someone a lesson with his fists or his wand if he deems that necessary. In reality, he’s a complicated creature with a sensitive soul, something he often expresses on paper through his poetry, not that he shares that side of himself with many.
History:
Levi is the oldest of two boys born to Oliver and Cecily Glendower. He had what one might consider an average wizarding childhood, having gone to St Woboldo’s Primary Wizarding School and then Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at age 11. Once there, he was sorted into Ravenclaw, which he had fully expected and likely added to his sense of superiority over the years. Typical teenage stuff happened during his time at Hogwarts and just as he was prepared to take a gap year after graduation to travel and “find himself”, his younger brother tragically disappeared, affecting him greatly. One gap year turned into two and very little travelling happened. Once he dreamed of being a poet, though he would only go into a career in writing if it were of a creative nature, and certainly not journalism as he finds very little creativity and soul there. He’s not completely sure what he wants to do anymore, but he found the curse-breaking opportunity to be very interesting and at least mildly exciting. Tent Assignments and greetings by Marmie the House elf

As each person arrives they are greeted by a peppy house elf by the name of Marmie. On closer inspection it seems that Marmie has lost half of an ear on one side, giving her a slightly lopsided look.
"Hello mistresses! Hello sirs! I is Marmie! I has tent assignments, I does!" Proudly, she holds up the parchment with all the names written in indelible ink, all paired by same gender, and subsequently directs each person to their tent. "If Marmie is needed for anything, Marmie is here! Marmie's job is to help all mistresses and sirs! Just call Marmie and Marmie will come! Marmie is told to tell all to come to the mess tent in 5 minutes! To meet and to greet and to eat! Marmie is also telling all that there is a map on your pillows so that Mistresses and Sirs will not get lost! Marmie will be going now! Marmie has much to do!"
The house elf disappears with a pop. Sure enough, a laminated card sits on each person's pillow. On one side a map, and on the other the key of what can be found in each tent and who is assigned to where. At one end of the map, when you look at it, you notice a larger tent labelled as the 'dig site', however you did not see anything in that space when Marmie took you to your tent. Perhaps it has been disguised somehow - you are sure to find out soon enough. You have five minutes to unpack and greet your tentmate before you are expected in the mess hall.

Dragon hide corset laced tightly, cinching and accentuating her already prominent curves, Daphne's minty eyes surveyed the scene and paid the house elf little mind. They were moderately insufferable, often taking far too long to get to the point and the brunette had never been one for people pleasers. Lingering only as long as was necessary, and finding the lack of eat to collect her tent assignment and move on. Though her thoughts did linger on the lack of ear on that particular house elf, giving her a few lucrative thoughts as to how this Marmie may actually be of some use to her after all.
Of course she had also taken note of who else was listed while the house elf had waved the parchment around and of course he would be here too.
Finding the location of her tent acceptable, she dipped inside but had little unpacking to do. She never traveled with much. This was not some bloody holiday, it was work and she had very explicit instructions to follow through upon. The fact that she was sharing a tent with a Mungo's healer was neither here nor there for her, though she preferred it to being forced to sharing quarters with another Gringott's busy body. Picking up the lamented card and flicking it, she read over and digested the information before slipping it into her corset and smoothed the flared sleeve of her black Bolero jacket before making her way towards the exit of the tent and on her way to the mess hall.

Bella arrived at the site with her blonde hair hidden under a scarf. She'd just been to the campus in Cairo to bring some documentation and research over and also stopped by the city to stock up on supplies (and snacks).
She looked around from the arrival point. She has always been quick with directions and orienting herself, probably due to all the wanderings she did as an underage witch and having to make due without magic.
She greeted the house elf with a smile before making her way to her tent, which happened to be the first one, and who also happened to be shared with a former student. Once inside the tent, she started unpacking. Within her bag, she pulled out a smaller pack that contained all her work essentials. She tossed that into a chair close to the door. She then pulled out stacks of books that weren't necessary to bring along. She then set out several pictures of her dogs (and one of her husband).
Once that was done, she sat on her bed, pulling off the scarf with one hand and picking up the info card with the other. She looked over the list to take a closer look at the names, trying to spot if she recognized any of the names.

Hawke was living his peak Gryffindor life. He'd run off and done something both stupid and reckless, but at least he wasn't entirely to blame. Plus, he had reasons to be here, so he tried not to be particularly bothered. Besides, Tempest had agreed to cover for him, so this clearly wasn't the worst idea he's ever made.
After arrival, he was greeted by a house elf missing part of an ear. He was too busy trying to figure out how a house elf would be missing part of a body part that he nearly missed what was happening. He quickly scanned the list to find where he'd be staying and then his eyes were drawn to that of 2C. At least the girls would be together. He couldn't decide if that was a good or a bad thing.
He then made his way to his tent to unpack quickly and make sure he sent word that he'd arrived safely.

Viktor was usually more than fine with house elves and everything surrounding them. It is just when they were this peppy he got annoyed. Didn't help that this one Marmie was missing half an ear. He had to look at it. Well, finally there was some information Viktor cared about. Meet and Greet. Standard things which Viktor hated but loved forcing other people to do. He was here and he would be involved.
The sullen Viktor made his way to his tent and it could have been worse.
The actually worst part was him actually getting a roommate. Guess not even Kettleburn or Flamel where immune from it. He set down in his small bag that had enough to last him the trip and picked up the card and gave it a once turning it over and inspecting it.

This is it. THIS IS IT. After months of waiting and training and hoping and training and training and studying (bleh) and TRAINING, Sylvie was here. And RIP her bedroom at home, it would never be the same after the accidental sand explosion whoops. RIP her poor mum's back as well.
Anyways.
The recently renewed blonde - dressed effectively in comfortable cargo pants, a thin shirt and hiking shoes - held her bag over her shoulder as she made her way to the entrance location with determination. Whether or not certain people will be here.. is neither here nor there. She'd signed to prover herself and that's the MOST important goal right now. Maybe she'd just say hi and make sure he's okay and not let it affect her because she's past it now and hopefully he is too.
A quick glance at Marmie the house elf - what happened to her poor ear?? who would hurt an elf?! - told her two good things: 1. only one person to share a tent with, and 2. it's JUNI. !!! Hoisting her bag over her shoulder, Sylvie quickly made her way to her tent, equal parts nervous and giddy with excitement. It didn't take her long before she was outside again, ponytail tightened, bag tossed carelessly on the bed and and phone tucked under the pillow. After glancing at the laminated card for a quick second, confirming her suspicions and feeling a knot tighten as nerves overtook giddiness, she slid it into her back pocket and walked quickly to the mess tent.

Johanna arrived atop her friend's carpet, hair covered in a thin beige shawl. Thanking her local friend with a nod of her head and some murmured words, the German jumped off and brushed sand from her clothes. Uselessly, of course, since sand is going to be the name of the game for the foreseeable future. Johanna firmly preferred the rainforest to the desert as far as world climates go, but this had been too good an opportunity to pass up.
Timing was a bit messed up though, her bike had just gone to the shop to get recharmed and greased up. It was much more her style to arrive on a motorbike than a carpet.
She stepped up to the little elf, course cotton clothes protecting her sensitive skin from this unforgiving sand, and firstly thanked Marmie for her help. She did note with some delight that her tent was right opposite the planning and debriefing tent, and a little mystified that the dig wasn't yet visible. Hmm. Reaching into her duffle bag, Johanna pulled out her credentials, camera and trusted quill as she made her way to the tent, and tucked her bag neatly under the bed when she made it in. Ah, her tentmate had not arrived just yet. No matter, she'd ask her lots of questions later.
Sliding her glasses back on her face, Johanna stepped back out and immediately started taking pictures. They said five minutes right? Plenty of time to get a mood photo in.

The day was finally here, all of the months of training and studying was about to be put to the test and hopefully pay off. The Seventeen year old was as excited as she was nervous. Since reading about the expedition in the Prophet she knew that she just had to be here. No matter what.
After arriving she took the tent assignment list from the house elf and thanked her. Poor little elf but she seemed as cheery as a child. Skimming over the list for her name. To her relief her tent mate was Sylvie. Also to Juni’s surprise she noticed than her friend Vivian was here too. Just skimming over the list to see if Hawke had made it she saw the last name Kettleburn. Wait was that like Chloe’s dad? Whoa.
She was not surprised by that Hawke had made it, considering she was sure he was copying her application. Watching you like a hawk now, HAWKE. With Sylvie and Hawke both were here this should be interesting. Juni headed over to her and Sylvie’s tent. Tossed her bag down on the other bed, and started unpacking her things. After she had settled in, she pulled out a baseball cap from her bag and put it on her head, pulling her ponytail through the back of the hat. She grabbed the map that was on her pillow and headed to the mess tent.

Arriving with an apple in hand and his bag slung over his shoulder, Thomas knew the trill after being at as many sites as he had been to. Probably no as many as some of the others here. Obviously he didn’t have as much experience as some that would be here. Taking a bite of the apple as he walked up to the house elf. Giving the elf a polite nod greeting. He had seen some pretty wounded elves in his time on sites but this poor elf and her missing half an ear was one of the worst.
He thanked the elf when she handed him the list. He checked the list for what tent he would be in, 3A with someone named Tristran Pyrites. That name didn’t sound familiar to him. He headed to his tent, sit his bag down on the end of the bed. In true Thomas Watts fashion he hopped on his bed to finish his apple. Sure he had five minutes to be in the mess tent. And they were going to eat then too right? He’d make it there in five minutes.

It was great being back on the sight of another dig. Joseph was looking forward to the brief break away from his office and lecture hall. Breaking out the khakis, boots, and fedora was always a welcoming feeling.
As Marmie went on and on, the professor simply nodded and smiled. He knew exactly how things ran at digs like this. The arrivals, quickly unpacking, the first meal in the mess tent, it was all the same. Regardless, he politely let the sweet elf speak without interruption and followed her to the tent he would be sharing with Kettleburn, whom he worked alongside at the university and had been on digs with before.
Following the Marmie's departure, he stepped inside the tent and went about unpacking what he had brought with him. A satchel of spare clothes, a few books, toiletry necessities, and a few other bits and bobs.
"Ready to head to the mess tent?" he asked Copernicus, picking up the laminated card that had been resting on his pillow. His watch had shouted that it was time they head over there to meet everyone and enjoy their first meal together.
Blah, blah, blah. That was all Malik heard coming out from the elf's mouth. The freelancer simply followed the creature to his tent, paying no attention to what she said. He had far better things to be focusing on, like how much money he was going to be getting once he sold the goods he was bound to get from this place.
The pop brought him back into the present moment. The elf was gone, and he was now standing outside of his tent. A sound from within was heard.
Ugh. Great. The bloke he'd be sharing a tent with was already unpacking.
Malik made his way into the tent, sizing up the guy for a moment. A forced sup nod was given as he threw his bag onto the bed. Seeing a card, he snatched it off his pillow and looked at the map side of it. All he cared about was where the mess tent was and, most important of all, the location of the dig. Was it possible for him to sneak over there? He wanted to call dibs on all of the valuable items before anyone else could.

This trip was bound to be an interesting one, and not just with the discoveries and potential outcomes of the find. Whenever one put together the assortment of characters that were scheduled to be attending the dig, there was likely to be at atmosphere of…well not exactly chaos. Just something that was going to make sure it wasn’t boring, not that Addison really every found his job boring. Except maybe all the paperwork involved in every aspect of it.
Paperwork was never fun.
“Hello Marmie…” he politely greeted the exuberant house elf that appeared to be their welcome wagon. The cursebreaker briefly wondering if the house elf would be quite as peppy at the end of the expedition after dealing with everyone and their quirks but that would just be another thing to find out in the end. One of many he was sure, not all of them ones the former Ravenclaw was interested in finding out but something he was familiar with. Came with the territory of being one of the older members of the team.
Following her direction, it was easy enough for Addison to find the tent assigned to him and a younger man he was familiar with in passing from Cairo. He set his belongings on the end of his bed and gathered up the card on his pillow. Easy enough configuration to follow, boy-girl split with centrally located areas for all. At least he was separated from the freelancers that he was always cautious with by the duo of male professors. And the bossman was situated between them and the dig site. Setting the card back where he had found it, Addison moved to head out again since five minutes went fast, heading to the tent diagonally across the path that was denoted the mess tent.
