Fenrir's Little Secret

Fenrir smirked when he heard they were studying werewolves in Care of Magical Creatures. Kettleburn couldn’t tell him anything he didn’t already know. In fact, he could tell Kettleburn a few things he didn’t know. Fenrir glanced around him, watching his fellow Slytherins. Not surprisingly, they were all looking at him. They knew his secret.

“Werewolves can’t control their actions…”

Couldn’t they, though? Couldn’t they just choose between locking themselves up in a room before transforming and positioning themselves where people were? He’d had this discussion with Tom once. Tom agreed; werewolves could fully control whether they attack or not.

A Different Taste

Fenrir looked at the child, lying helpless before him. The kid was too scared to run, even if he could. But he couldn’t, he had a bite. The child’s bite wasn’t any bite, though. It was the bite of a werewolf. Fenrir saw the fear in his eyes, but didn’t acknowledge it.

Then, he realized something. He liked inducing fear in children. He liked the power it gave him. And, more importantly, he liked the taste of blood. It was then he decided he was different. Instead of having a sweet tooth, he had a love of blood and power.

Full Moon

Fenrir paced back and forth in a small clearing, awaiting the night. Finally, a small boy with light brown hair walked by the clearing. Fenrir anxiously looked towards the sky. Night had fallen and a glowing orb hung in the sky.

It happened. Fenrir transformed into a werewolf and ran after the boy. The little boy yelled and ran, but not fast enough. Within seconds, Fenrir caught up and had him on the ground, his arm bleeding from a bite. That should let the boy’s father know not to offend him again.

“Remus!” a voice called. “Time to come in!”

An Unparalleled Delight

Fenrir walked through the door to the Astronomy Tower. He was happy that Draco had his wand pointed at the headmaster’s heart. He also noticed how uncomfortable Draco was. How Draco didn’t want him there.

“I wouldn’t miss a trip to Hogwarts, Dumbledore,” he said, having joined the conversation. He grinned maliciously, “Not when there are throats to be ripped out… Delicious, delicious… I could do you for afters, Dumbledore.” He’d already attacked one guy and was anxious to continue… The Potter boy would be nice, as well. Too bad the Dark Lord had already claimed him as his own.

I thought it added the right touch... And, in case you haven't guessed, the title was sarcastic

A Slight Dilemma

“Fenrir?” asked Tom, smirking slightly. “I think you may be allergic to the peanut butter.”

“What? Nonsense,” he answered gruffly, scratching his neck. “Why d’you say that?”

“Well, your face…” began Tom, before he became unable to talk.

Fenrir anxiously conjured a mirror and, holding it in front of himself, he gasped loudly. Red blotches covered his face. He set the mirror down, noticing his hand as he did so. They looked the same. He quickly stood and left for the dungeons, cursing under his breath the entire way. Needless to say, he didn’t show up at classes that day.

Reunion

“So, they planted a tree for you?” asked Fenrir, amazed. The staff never even knew that he was a werewolf.

“Yeah, the Whomping willow,” answered Remus.

“Interesting…” mused Fenrir. “I’m glad you’ve finally come to the right side. The winning side.”

Remus didn’t answer, but instead looked around the dingy room.

“You are on the Dark Lord’s side, aren’t you?” questioned Fenrir.

“Yes.”

Fenrir looked pleased at this. He had no idea all those years ago, how well things would turn out. Yet here the boy stood before him, grown now, saying he supported the Dark Lord. It was perfect.

*In case you were wondering, this takes place underground, where the werewolves are

The Beginning

Fenrir looked behind him, eyes wide with fear. A large beast was chasing after him. The werewolf continued the chase, slowly catching up. Fenrir looked back again, tripping over a large root and falling to the ground.

“No…” he whispered, closing his eyes tight.

Fenrir felt hot breath on his face. He opened his eyes and saw huge yellow ones looking back. Then he felt pain. “Ah!” he yelled, seeing his arm covered in blood. He’d been bitten.

The werewolf ran away, deep into the forest. Fenrir got up and ran all the way home.

“What happened?”

“Werewolf,” he muttered.

The Hidden Room

“What a fine room, Lucius,” said Fenrir, looking around the room, lit by torches. It was the hidden room under the Malfoys drawing room floor and it was full of dark objects.

“Thank you, Fenrir,” said Lucius, surveying the room as well. “Anyways,” he added, “this is where anything that would prove unhelpful, should the Ministry raid, is kept. And things Narcissa doesn’t approve of…”

“Yes, yes…” agreed Fenrir, picking up one of the books on the shelf. He set the book down and went on to examining some of the artifacts in display cases. One was an old diary.

A New Feeling

Fenrir was slipping into a sort of depression lately. He didn’t know why, but he was.

“You okay, Greyback?” asked Avery. “You’ve been weird lately. Is tonight a full moon?”

“No… I’m fine, really.”

Avery nodded and left, leaving Fenrir alone. He was tired of people always being around. Being around people actually deepened his depression, because he knew he’d never lead a normal life. He’d always be different. No matter how he was every other day, the one night would come that put the same fear in him as when he was attacked. The night of the full moon.

Feeling Snappy

“What?” snapped Fenrir. He was always snappish on the day of the full moon, maybe because he always ended up literally snapping at people. Either way, today was no different.

Antonin looked at Fenrir, muttering something about him being grumpy, and then said, “Relax! I was just wondering if you wrote our assignment down.”

“Oh… No, maybe Avery has it,” replied Fenrir. He felt sorry for Antonin. For anybody who crossed his path when he was feeling snappish, really. Antonin was the sixth person he’d snapped at that day, person number one landing him a detention for the next night.

A Sad Song

Fenrir was prowling through the forest in search of prey, when he heard something. It sounded as if somebody… No, they wouldn’t. Not in Great Britain. He was wrong.

“Yodel dee oh hee oh hee oh hee do!”

Fenrir headed off, following the horrid yodeling. He couldn’t stand yodeling, after all. He crept up behind the yodeler, who was dressed in the traditional yodeling garb, and, growling lowly, attacked.

A loud yell cut another yodel short. Shortly after, an oddly dressed man was found dead in the forest. He appeared to have been attacked by an animal of some sort.

*Sorry if I have offended any yodel lovers... I'm not trying to. Also, I'm sorry if the yodel was typed incorrectly... I have no clue how it's supposed to be typed, lol.

For Cass, Emma, Niky, Lillith, and Peony cuz I think they all pretty much rock

Better Off

Fenrir read through the list of classes he had to choose from for his third year. “Muggle Studies?” he asked. He couldn’t believe people considered Muggles interesting enough to have a class about them.

“Huh?” asked Lestrange, looking up from his essay, confused.

“They actually have a class about Muggles!” answered Fenrir.

“Why?” asked Lestrange, looking genuinely puzzled.

“I dunno… I say we’re better off without them anyways,” responded Fenrir, getting nods of approval from the students nearby.

“Definitely.”

“Aren’t you supposed to be working on your Potions essay, Lestrange?” asked Fenrir after several minutes.

Lestrange’s face fell. “Oh, right.”

Hunter in the Night

Bang!

The gunshot echoed throughout the forest. Fenrir turned behind him, towards the man coming towards him. He turned back around and raced off. The hunter continued his quest, soon became hopelessly lost.

A snarl sounded from behind the hunter. He whipped around, his eyes slowly widening with fear. He realized that he wouldn’t make it out of the forest alive. By the time the hunter had the sense to raise his gun, it was too late. Fenrir leaped towards the hunter, and quickly bit him. Fenrir then backed off, and watched the blood soak though the hunter’s plaid jacket.

A Big Relief

The invention of the Wolfsbane Potion made Fenrir’s life much easier. Now, he didn’t have to worry about attacking the wrong person, nor did he have to worry about causing too much harm. He stayed in his right mind now, thinking like a human, not like a beast. Making potions once a month was an annoying task, but necessary.

Fenrir finished stirring the potion and poured some into a goblet. He quickly drank the liquid, shuddering slightly, and then looked outside. The sun was just beginning to set. Fenrir set the goblet down and went to prepare himself for nightfall.

Fenrir’s Difficulties

“I can’t find it!” Fenrir complained, flipping through the Rune Dictionary. He had spent the past twenty minutes looking for the different characteristics of Thurisaz, and he still hadn’t found them. Frustrated, he chucked his book across the room, barely missing Antonin’s head.

“Watch it!” Antonin yelled. “Why’d you throw just throw that?”

“I can’t find the characteristics for a rune…” he mumbled.

“What one?” asked Antonin, picking up the book.

“Thurisaz.”

Antonin flipped through a few pages, quickly stopping at a page. “Here you go.”

Fenrir looked at the page and glared at Antonin, mad he didn’t find it.

Bad Break, Kid

Fenrir glanced outside, only to see a flurry of snowballs flying past. He anxiously looked at his essay, then back outside. He only had another six inches to write before he was done. Fenrir hurriedly scribbled down another use, silently cursing the O.W.L.s. Younger students squealed with joy in the snow as Fenrir continued writing.

Moonstones can also be used in the Draught of Peace…

Fenrir wrote the last couple lines, then, finally finished with his essay, he threw his quill down in triumph and raced up to the doors. Alas, it started raining as soon as he walked outside.

Post-Match Mayhem
“Idiot leprechauns,” murmured Fenrir, watching the scene unfold before him… It was getting ridiculous.

“Good game,” commented Lucius afterwards.

Fenrir nodded and took a swig of his firewhiskey. Macnair took a drink from his mug and said, “A shame the Irish are too proud to try and buy off Krum…”

They all nodded and continued drinking until Fenrir said, “Draco… Head on into the woods now. Wouldn’t want your father getting caught, would you?”

Draco smirked, as they donned their masks, and left. “I’m ready when you are,” said Fenrir, gruffly. The Muggles are at the edge of the campsite.

Colorful Creation
“Clockwise, Mr. Greyback,” said Slughorn, passing Fenrir’s cauldron.

“Sorry,” muttered Fenrir, switching directions. He noticed his potion was hot pink, not the delicate shade of blue it should have been.

After a few more stirs, his potion turned bright yellow. Confused, Fenrir said, “Professor… When I switched directions, it turned yellow…”

Tom, who was particularly talented, laughed and carried on with his perfect blue potion. “Git,” mumbled Fenrir, throwing in the last of his ingredients. There was a loud boom, followed by purple smoke. It was now black. Fenrir cursed his luck, and after getting a sample, began packing up.

Howl in the Night
Fenrir made his way up the stairs to the Astronomy tower, hoping he was wrong. He weaved his way through the assortment of telescopes and peered outside. The sun was setting and a full moon shone down.

Fenrir stared for a few more minutes, and then raced down to the Forbidden Forest. As soon as he was deep into the forest, so that he couldn’t see the sky or the lights of Hogwarts, he felt the change.

His bones changed into that of a wolf and fur grew from his skin. His cry came out as a howl. He’d transformed.

Waiting
“Then the Veela said yes….” droned Macnair, bragging about his encounter.

Fenrir rolled his eyes, annoyed with Macnair, and began playing with his mask. They were all awaiting the sign they knew would come… when they had to support their Master. The Dark Lord. Any minute now, they would be called upon to fight with him until the end. This was to be the last battle with Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The Dark Lord’s genius plan would surely let Potter be with his parents once more.

An hour later, Fenrir’s arm seared with pain. It was time.

Anticipation
Fenrir had absolutely nothing to do, other than wait. The train for Hogwarts (Hogwarts!) left tomorrow, but he had been packed since the day he had received his letter.

“Why don’t you go and play with your friends?” asked his mum.

“They’re packing,” Fenrir replied dully. The one disadvantage to him being ready was that none of his friends were. Waiting for them to finish was a real bore.

After a few hours, Fenrir’s mum entered the room carrying a large book. “You forgot to pack Hogwarts, A History.”

Fenrir sighed. Of course he forgot to pack his largest book.

The Fantastically Untitled Drabble
Fenrir doodled absentmindedly on the table while Professor Sprout talked about Devil’s Snare. He honestly had no idea why he needed to know about it. Herbology was one of his least favorite classes, after all.

“Mr. Greyback, could you tell me how to free yourself from Devil’s Snare plant?” asked Professor Sprout, realizing he wasn’t paying attention.

Fenrir looked up. “Erm… By making it dark?” he suggested. He thought he heard her mention darkness.

“Avery, could you tell me?” she asked.

“Fire,” he replied, smirking at Fenrir.

“Very good! Three points to Slytherin. Greyback, I suggest you start paying attention.”
